Staying here was an incredible experience! Loris and Ambra are perfect hosts. Loris helped me arrange transportation to and from the hotel - and he carried all of our bags to and from the hotel! Ambra kept us in good food and coffee. We didn't meet Rita, but we ate her delicious cakes. Everyone was so friendly and attentive to our needs! I would give them a higher rating if I could!
The room has an incredible view of the waterfront, and the hotel is beautifully placed near the downtown area of Civitavecchia. There are tons of things to do and see (and eat) and Loris is a great advisor when planning your outings.

I can’t begin to express how amazing our stay was at La Casa sul Mare! Don’t let the immediate outside area deceive you! Loris was waiting for my husband and I when we arrived from our cruise to escort us upstairs and insisted that he handle all of our luggage. Ambra was waiting at the top of the elevator to welcome us. We arrived really early and took advantage of the early check in option. Ambra prepared us cappuccino and a lovely breakfast that we enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the sea.
The location is perfect - it’s walkable from the cruise port and an even shorter walk to the train station. There are many bars/restaurants near. We spent the day enjoying the beautiful beach and then Loris secured us a dinner reservation at a delicious seafood restaurant. We watched the sun set and then ended the day enjoying drinks back in the room.

The shower was incredible after several days on a cramped ship, and they even had a hair dryer WITH a diffuser attachment, slippers, and water for the room. A beautiful small B & B, clean comfortable & a feel of nothing would be too much trouble. Not that we needed anything as everything that you could wish for during your stay was thoughtfully there. The breakfast was lovely & having access to free coffee, fruit & snacks at anytime was an unexpected bonus. Loris & Ambra were excellent hosts, very friendly & efficient. Would recommend ear plugs for light sleepers as music from nearby bars could just be heard until late. Definitely would recommend to other travellers though as this was perfect for our 2 nights pre-cruise.

We booked this place several weeks before our Rrival. Loris, the owner met the car when our driver pulled up to the front door and took our luggage. We met Ambra who showed us around. Both Loris and Ambra were so kind and informative. The place is in the perfect location. Our room and balcony over looked the bay and street. We wandered around town, had pizza and beer, enjoyed the area. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast and Loris arranged our car to the port. It waa our first time in Italy. Loris and Ambra made us feel right at home. We recommend La Casa Sul Mare to anyone who is looking for hosts that go to the extra time in making their guests feel cared for and important! We had a great stay, at this bed and breakfast. It’s a really nice apartment/condo. And they book out the rooms. The staff Ambra and the owner Lauren were very friendly and so welcoming. The place was very clean, the room and bathroom were spotless, and fresh mats were provided in the shower. Breakfast was provided every morning from 8am to 10am. The view from our room was gorgeous. We had a balcony with an ocean view and a ferris wheel that lit up at night. It was pretty cool to see. There are lots of Resturant’s around the area and a few stores. The location is walking distance from the cruise port. I would definitely book here again!

STUNNING! If you are contemplating where to stay in Civitavecchia for a cruise or visiting, just book la casa sul mare. Amazing location and gorgeous views. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon before boarding our 2nd cruise and we absolutely loved it. Clean, safe, and very homey, but also feels luxurious. It is central to everything - really good restaurants, supermarkets, and the seaside. We also did laundry before our 2nd cruise nearby which was super helpful. Very convenient location to get to the ship and everywhere else. The owner and manager were super friendly and helpful (also speak multiple languages). They are very passionate about the city and very kind. Highly recommend. Great experience.

Upon arrival from the airport in Rome (hotel arranged car service) we were met with a huge welcoming smile by the owner Loris who quickly unloaded our ton of luggage and took us to his hotel where we were met by another smile and introduced to Ambria who handled getting us all settled in including recommendations for things to do as well as local restaurants. The room was very nice and had a wonderful balcony with a direct ocean view. Please know that if your preference is for large scale chain type hotels, this is not the place for you. This is a spotlessly clean family owned small B&B/Hotel with only a few rooms and service/amenities that go above and beyond what you get at those types of hotels. Everything you could want including being treated like long lost friends, snacks, beverages and an amazing breakfast every day is literally right outside your room door! This is one of the best places we have stayed in our extensive travels!! Thank you again Loris for saving the day with the suitcase situation!!!

First, let's just get out of the way that the immediate impression of the building will have you questioning your choice. The B&B is house in a mixed-use retail/office/residential building, and you will initially wonder if you've made a HUGE mistake.

They make you comfortable, secure and happy. Many guests return frequently for pre-and post Cruises. They handled our luggage and our transfer and even offered to drive to help return our rental car. If I ever find myself back and Civitecchia, I will certainly stay with these wonderful people.

Awesome Place-but request an attached bathroom!
First off, we used their service for transportation from the airport to the hotel and it worked out perfectly, very polite, on time, comparable price, just perfect! The staff here could not have been nicer, they were as sweet as can be and SO helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was just perfect and delicious. The only downside to our stay was to reach out bathroom, we had to leave our room, go through a hallway (which one other room could pass through) and then use a key to enter our private bathroom. It was a bit of an inconvenience in the middle of the night when having to do all that to use the bathroom! However, there are five rooms at this hotel and ours was the only one where the bathroom was separate, so maybe request to not have that one when booking. Other than that, this could not have been a more perfect place to stay, clean, great location and SO friendly and helpful!

La Casa sul Mare is a small B&B, book early so you don’t miss out. They treat you like family from the time you book your stay until the owner brings your luggage to the awaiting taxi. He will make transportation for you, dinner reservations and he knows where to go for a good meal. His mom makes a pistachio cake that you would die for, you have to try it. I cannot say anything bad about our stay prior to our cruise. You can see why they get such a high rating on all sites.

We had a balcony room facing the ocean and five separate rooms center around a fully stocked open kitchen and dining room. A full breakfast is served every morning and you have a choice of dining with other guests or taking it to your private balcony. Throughout the day fresh pastries and snacks are available and the frig is fully stocked.
I really can’t say enough about the wonderful hospitality of Loris,Ambra and Rita. It is definitely an 11 out of 10!

Wow, can not say enough about La Casa Sul Mare! Where do I start to describe this gem of a location! First it is a beautifully quaint and impeccably clean. Secondly, the location is perfectly central for everything (beach, market, restaurants, cruises etc), and an easy commute from Rome airport. Third and probably most important, is the incredible outstanding customer service and hospitality by Lori (owner) and Ambra. From the minute we booked several months ago, they assisted us in securing transportation from the airport to the B&B. Then when our taxi arrived Lori was waiting to great us and guide us into the hotel, plus he took care of all luggage. Then we met by Ambra who provided detailed explanation of the B&B and what can be found in the vicinity (ie restaurants, market etc). Our room was immaculately clean and cozy with plenty of space. Next, the breakfast and amenities made available in the kitchen/common area are awesome (snacks/pastries, fruit, coffee/tea, water, etc). The breakfast has everything you could want at a B&B, and so fresh (ie pastries). One not to miss incredible treat made available to guests is Rita’s (Lori’s Mother and co-owner) Pistachio pie dessert, OMG if this ever goes on the open market it will be a huge success and irresistible! All of this to say, La Casa Sul Mare more than exceeded all expectations and is a very highly recommended place to stay, you will not be disappointed. We will certainly be back! I wish i could give 6 stars. From before i left home, Loris was in touch with me to offer assistance such as transportation from FCO. Ambre is the backbone of the business and had a terrific breakfast and evening snacks to enjoy on the private balcony.
The hotel is very small and 6 rooms but they are clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is great for walking and there are several good restaurants nearby. Finally, the cruise terminal is within walking distance.
Stay here if you appreciate small, friendly, locally owned and clean. You will not be disappointed.

Our stay was brief, one night before boarding our cruise ship, but outstanding in every way. This is a small, family run hotel which we love. Loris (owner) arranged our airport pickup which went smoothly and met us at the car on arrival to escort us to the hotel. The hotel is not hard to find once you know where it is, but being jet-lagged and in a new place made us very grateful to have Loris there. Loris is an excellent host, both gracious and highly competent. They seem to have thought of everything you might need, including electrical outlet adaptors if you have forgotten to bring some. The hotel is immaculate, with a very comfortable bed. Our room faced the ocean (definite “wow!” when we walked in and took in the gorgeous view) with a lovely balcony where we ate breakfast the next morning prepared by the wonderful Ambre. She is an excellent hostess and makes a great pot of American-style coffee in addition to excellent espresso drinks. The hotel overlooks the port complex and we were able to walk to our ship the next morning. That may not be an option for everyone and Loris can assist you as needed. Overall I really can’t say enough about Loris, Ambre and La Casa Sul Mare. I would absolutely stay again.

We were in Rome and wanted to spend a day near the sea, and stumbled upon this BnB and were so glad we did. Our room had a great sea view, was clean, air conditioned, and came with a great bathroom. The blinds made sure the room was nice and dark in the morning, so we could wake up on our own schedule. The real star of the show was everyone that worked there. Owner Loris really went out of his way to make sure our stay was great, and his attention to service detail was impeccable. Ambre made the check in a breeze and sure to go over all the amenities in detail. She was wonderful in making our breakfast special. They had a thorough selection of quality breakfast food, and coffee/tea. Make sure you try Loris's mother's Pistachio cake! Highly recommend this place, and we plan on staying here again if we come back for a cruise through Civitavecchia!
