A small family-run hotel with just a few rooms. The owner asked about my arrival time and greeted us at the entrance. Exceptionally clean room with free snack and drinks. Walking distance to McDonald and pharmacies. Close to cruise terminal but you cannot walk to the ship. Will have to take the free shuttle which the owner is happy to explain. The air con was not too reactive to adjustment so we open the window. Overall it’s a pleasant stay.

This property is a great place to stay before boarding on a cruise at the Port of Civitavecchia. It is only about 7 minutes walk from Civitavecchia train station and 5 minutes walk when taking the free shuttle bus to the cruise terminal. There are plenty of restaurants around the area. Our room was clean, spacious, and there are cold drinks in the fridge and coffee/tea available as well. They have pastries for breakfast. The bathroom is nice too but there is no hair conditioner. Overall, we enjoyed our overnight stay in this property.

Do I start with the fact that Francesco is an absolute gentleman?

Do I start with the fact that the service my wife and I received was second to none?
Ladies and gentlemen do not look anywhere else for accommodation for pre cruise or a holiday this IS the place to stay in Civitavecchia, trust me!
Our train from Reggio Calabria was delayed, we arrived later ,much later than we had expected to.
Francesco contacted us and requested that we call him when our train arrived into Civitavecchia.
Francesco then gave us directions as to where the accommodation was located.
Well guess what?
Francesco along with one of his staff totally suprised us.
He had walked from the accommodation and met us whilst we were on our way to the accommodation.
They then carried our luggage all the way to the accommodation.
This was around 9:30 at night!
This gentleman went over and above. We have not received such EXCELLENT service in 6 weeks of travelling around Europe.
One other thing for what it is worth ... Francesco was the ONLY person out of all the places we stayed that gave us a receipt for the tourist tax!

We loved the Museum Guest House. It was in a great location. There was alot to do around the area and alot of great places to eat. Thomas was wonderful and they were very attentive and kind. The room was very clean and the refrigerator was stocked with water, soda and juices. We also had assorted pastries along with other things to eat for breakfast. We definitely recommend staying here.

The rooms are sparkling clean. Stefan, the owner, greeted us, he was always very friendly and prompt to respond to our calls and messages. He recommended a very good restaurant around the corner and very kindly arranged for our taxi to the port and even notified us of the arrival of its arrival the following morning. It was odd to go into the building. It looks like a apartment building. There no signage to tell you its on the 2nd floor. Once we meet with the owner it was great. He was really accommodating. We arrived early and he had the room ready. Not very common.

Pre-cruise stopover. Enjoyed the city and convenience of being at the port. Very walkable. On the beach. The hotel was very old which made it a nice change for us.

It showed up a few flights later which would’ve had us checking in past the cutoff time but Francesco was kind enough to help out our situation and allow us to check in late. This location was on the 2nd floor (3rd physical floor) along with several other Guest Houses. Be sure to read the buzzer placard to find the Museum Guest House. The unit was very clean, moderately furnished with plenty of snacks, coffee and tea in the room. No Kitchen facilities. Small Bar Fridge. Individual temperature control. QUIET! Close to plenty of restaurants and the Port. Excellent bathroom!! What DIDN'T we like? Tiny elevator, just like most of Europe!

It was really good and convenient but be aware there are many stairs to the hotel and the lift is tiny so many trips with cases and people.
Also there was no milk in the fridge and so a nice cuppa was not on the cards.

Very charming , old school, great location — I had a surprise view of the ocean out my Window; & I had no idea when I booked that I was just steps to the beaches , boardwalk and cafes /shops; I was walking at night and early Morning safely ; gorgeous bathroom all updated; very comfortable bed and sheets; lots of choices of teas and Italian specialty snacks, juice and coffee in the room—I’ve never seen such a hospitable welcome . Walk to everything; museum across the street ; very quaint area . The Police and a big Catholic church are adjacent and always present . Near the cruise port via walking : I placed my Bags in the old elevator and they rode up to the hotel floor alone without me /or you can ride with them. Really a great taste of old style Italy.

The hotelier is very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is perfectly located directly across from the archeological museum in the heart of shops and eateries. It is very close to the port. They offer transfer to the port for a small amount of money. The room was comfortable and very clean. The rooms and bathroom have been recently renovated. The property is not fancy but a basic clean comfortable accommodation. The room has a fridge that is stock with complementary juice, soda, and water. They also provide snacks such as cookies. You have the ability to make tea and coffee in the morning which is provided for you. I love the little magnet gift I received. I can’t say enough about how nice, hospitable, accommodating and friendly the staff and owner were. Thank you! Frank
