We stayed at the Cavallucio Marino Hotel prior to a cruise leaving out of Port Civittavechia. The train station is a very long distance away and the taxi to/from Civittavechia is 50 Euros. There was nothing to see or do in this area. It might be a good place to stay during the summer.

BAD: Our room was dated, but was trying to mask being “quaint”. Although the room was clean, the shower had significant mold and the towels were not even new-ish. We were excited to hang out on our balcony with sea view but the patio door wouldn’t open.

This property is wonderful, from staff to location. We took the train from FCO to Santa Marinella. It was quick and easy and a 20 minute walk from th drop off location to the hotel. There are many local and convenient restaurants. There's access to their private beach. Staff are very resourceful and helpful. Unfortunately we were only there for a night due to a cruise trip but I hope to return to this location with my immediate family.

We had the Junior Suite on the top floor which was modern, clean and had sweeping, beautiful panoramic views of the shore. Fit four adults comfortably and the outdoor patio was quite large with tables and chaise loungers. Would recommend that particular room again.

This place was wonderful! The room we had had a balcony which was perfect for early mornings and late evenings when the pool and beach was closed. The front desk staff was very helpful and attentive, they made sure to ask before we checked out if we needed assistance getting to the airport and if our stay was going well. The pool was closed our first day here but we were able to use the beachfront with no issue. The lifeguard on staff was especially helpful when my boyfriend and I both got scraped up after swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. The lifeguard provided first aid and went into the sea to mark where we got hurt so that other guests knew to avoid that area.

Stayed two nights after a cruise before flying home to the US. It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy cruise itinerary. The hotel is just steps from the ocean with a beachfront pool and restaurant. And most of all the staff are helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. They arranged transportation for us and helped us with any and all requests.

La We had a room with al balcony and the most beautiful view, this gets a 5. The hotel staff also get a 5. The restaurant food was very good and the servers very nice. This too a 5. The one negative in the room is the bathroom, very small and very uncomfortable. The room is very basic but it was very clean. The location was about 20 minutes from the port. Nothing much going on in that area though, not during the first week of May which is when we were there. For us, it was a one night stop before the cruise.

The room above us has a water leak and plaster started falling from the ceiling in our room. The plaster got in my hair and into my open luggage. I had to empty my entire bag to shake it out and try to get it off my clothes. The hotel staff did not offer to clean my clothes or even offer a discount on dinner or the room. The hotel was clean and the view from the room was amazing but just wished when I noticed them of the problem that they even came into the room to sweep up the mess.

Never offered to move me to another room or even discount the room rate as a concession for poor service. Additionally, I asked for a ride to be arranged to cruise port. Reluctantly arrangements were made for 10:25a for set price, but driver arrived at 10:45a in which there were other folks were going and I was late to the port, plus I was force to pay full price. They treated me poorly. It was a terrible experience!!!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. As Canadians, the employees of the hotel spoke great English and were patient with any questions we had. The hotel is a bit outdated, but in its cleanliness still presented a quaint welcoming front. The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time relaxing on the beach for the day.

The hotel needs a lot of updating. Some of the walls had holes in them, the carpet was old and our toilet needed to be repaired when we got there. The location is deceiving. Very relaxing hotel with fantastic views of the water. Quiet with beach access/pool and hotel restaurant. Limited places to eat since hotel is not in a busy location. Approximately 15 taxi ride to cruise port. Rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of space for a family of four. Breakfast in the morning was included and was continental style. Would go back.

The hotel is quite outdated though it made up in its location and cleanliness. The room is quite spacious for our stay (2 people) with 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed. Noted that the room comes with a tiny fridge which is hardly keep anything cold and there is no iron for your clothes in the room. Hence, if you wish to do so you will need to walk to the other side of the premise and access a shared room where they keep the iron and iron board for all guests to use.
Also, it worths notice that the staff is not very fluent English speaking and some of them are not quite patience/helpful in our experience.
In addition, it's very difficult to get around if you plan to stay for a while. In that case, I would suggest you plan ahead and rent a car to get around. There is ONLY one taxi company in town and they are overloaded. We tried to order the cab once and they didn't even pick up the phone that tells you how that could be troublesome.
Overall, Santa Marinella is a very peaceful and lovely place to visit but since it's not yet tourist friendly, you should definitely do your research and plan ahead before coming to visit.

Overall, Santa Marinella is a very peaceful and lovely place to visit but since it's not yet tourist friendly, you should definitely do your research and plan ahead before coming to visit.

Perfect quiet spot to relax after a busy tour!
We had stayed in 6 different hotels while traveling Italy, very similar accommodations at all the properties. The room and overall hotel was very clean and we had a sea view which was very nice, the beach and pool were excellent to relax, very quiet and not much else to do but relax in Santa Marinella which was perfect after a very busy 12 day tour of the whole country!
