The staff at The Wight clearly care about their job & were very warm & keen to help. There is excellent information available about the island.
The hotel is dated, but very clean, coordinated & in good repair.
The photos advertised were accurate.
We didn't try the facilities as only stayed one night.
Breakfast was cooked to order & we were able to chose our items individually. It was basic but reasonable. Soya milk available for me as a vegan, but no vegan spread or protein alternatives.
The mattresses could do with being replaced as they were a bit soft & the springs could be felt a bit.
On the whole would recommend for someone staying in the area.

The Wight Holiday
Our stay at the Wight Hotel in Sandown was absolutely brilliant. Full Monty breakfast was first class. The staff were great - nothing was too much trouble for them; so friendly and helpful. we were made to feel very welcome and soon made ourselves at home enjoying the friendly Wight atmosphere and all the services which were available. some great nights in the bar with the entertainment. The hotel is located close to all the amenities and bus stops. what more could you want for a great holiday in a great hotel.

For all the important stuff: staff knowledge, information given when checking in (in regards to local services etc), peace etc. The Wight was exactly what I needed. I was allowed to check in early with no hassle/extra fees. The staff were always friendly and helpful if I needed anything, but the welcome book provided so much information that I rarely needed to ask questions.

Just had a one night stay at The Wight, first impressions were very dated and tired. The staff there were amazing, so helpful and friendly and really made it for us. The girls used the pool and went down in the evening for table tennis. Comfy beds and clean kettle so winning!! Easy parking big plus.

It's a great place for a short stay with family. The pool is a plus. There is a good breakfast and great service. With your car, you can get to any other place on the island in a reasonable time.

We arrived and were met by a lovely lady who was very informative and made us feel really welcome which was great.
Breakfast was really good and Terry in the morning was great and chatty.
Room was very clean and large ( we did get a superior double).
All of the staff were great and nothing was too much trouble and the knowledge of the area was a blessing.
Being off the road was also good and the car park is large enough.

Lovely staff, very friendly. Nice to have table service at breakfast, although we didn't always get what we asked for, but it was lovely all the same. The public areas, corridors and rooms were immaculately clean. I booked specifically because of the indoor pool which was fantastic. Most mornings I had it to myself. The bar was lovely to sit in for evenings and the drinks prices were amongst the cheapest we encountered on the Island. Will definitely stay again as Sandown makes a fantastic base to explore the Island. Would highly recommend the to anyone, whether you are a family or a couple. The room was small. The staff were all friendly and brilliant and did everything to make our stay as good as it could be. The only negative was the attitude of the owner who tried to belittle me because I said the bedroom was small, which it was.

My wife and were more than happy with the cleanliness of our room, the staff at the hotel bent over backwards to help us as we both have to walk with sticks. The breakfast was amazing could not fault it. We will definitely return. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short by 1 day as my wife was taken ill, the reception took everything out of my hands and sorted out the car ferry for us brilliant.

Fantastic value for money would recommend dtaying here. All the staff are wonderful from reception to bar to the excellent breakfast special thanks to Harvey. The hotel has good facilities and is walking distance to beach, bars and restaurants everything you need. Only thing I would change is beds we are used to king size and they are doubles and noisy! Will definitely return.

We stayed one night as part of a cycle around the Island. The beds were comfortable, room was warm , ample breakfast and good cycle storage. One shower had very poor pressure and a door that didn’t shut properly. No shampoo and conditioner, just a body gel / shampoo that I would use on hair. Basic and just fine.

Overall, the room was ok. The kettle had a disgusting smell and was too old. Rooms do not have a small fridge. The breakfast is not a buffet service with very limited continental style options. The hotel does not have any lunch or dinning facilities. This was surprising for a 4 star hotel. I won't stay again at this place. The Sandown area around the hotel felt a bit dipressing with many dilapidated buildings.

We stayed a week at the Wight and really enjoyed our holiday. The staff vere very pleasant and helpful and the breakfasts were superb. We bookrd a room described as being small, it was, so we elected to upgrade: this was arranged very quickly and the changeover went very smoothly. We can recommend the Wight most highly.

The hotel was perfect for what we wanted, but it is a bit tired and needs a revamp. My son loved the swimming pool and games room, so he was happy. Lovely staff at breakfast, table service rather than a buffet. Would stay again as long as the pool remains open (note it was closed Mon to Wed morning for local swimming lessons, but this was not a problem).

The hotel has a great location,just 5 mins walk from the beach or High Street. Everyone at the hotel went to great lengths to be as accommodating as they possibly could. Fran and John should be commended along with their great team. A 5 star experience all round,apart from breakfast which was 7 star! Extremely dog friendly also.

This hotel was a great find. A wee gem to be honest. The staff were great, the amenities exactly as described, free parking and located very close to the town centre. A very rare Hammond X66 organ located within the hotel made my break complete. I am looking forward to a return visit at some point.

Hotels . com advertised an outdoor pool and treatment rooms, they were not available. also the indoor pool is closed at certain times of the day so local children can have swimming lessons,every week. I dont have a problem with the kids or the lessons BUT it would be nice to be told in advance,

This was a last minute booking. But we had a lovey surprise. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer and plenty of towels. The hotel is not super modern but has a wonderful charm about it. We used the pool. It was clean and the temperature was perfect. The breakfast was a real highlight. The hotel is excellently kept, with the rooms being cleaned and restocked for tea, coffee and hot chocolate every day. We stayed as a family in a four person room with two sleeping areas at either end, around an internal corner which was excellent for a family with two children like ours.
The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options and great service, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool, sauna, and steam room were great and available from early morning to 7:30pm, and the location is brilliant being only a few minutes from the beach and only a short walk along the front to all the local attractions. The rooms were well kept and wonderfully comfortable, and I couldn't think of a reason not to recommend staying here.
