We stayed here in April with our two teenage daughters.
Our accommodation was one of the Two Bedroom Pool Villas which was lovely and very spacious and had its own pool.
The only thing that let this style of villa down was that they are located next to a busy road with traffic going all night.
We are not used to this noise and so found it difficult to sleep.
We did let the reception know this and they offered to move us to a different style of accommodation
away from the road for a couple of nights but then we would have had to move back for our last night.
The staff here were all very friendly, especially the restaurant staff and the buffet breakfast was great.
The hotel offers free shuttles to Lamai twice a day and also a shuttle to Chaweng once a day which was great to be able to use.
There is also a small supermarket located an easy walk away.
Apart from the road noise we enjoyed our stay here.

Me and my partner had an amazing stay at Rockys.

We did have an issue of construction happening above our room and stones falling onto us on the balcony but we was swiftly moved into another room which did not have this issue once reported.

The resort is immaculate and picturesque with a great vibe.

It would be good if prices shown included tax on the menu as its not ideal to constantly have to calculate but its a minor point.

Food was also great at the hotel, there is also a great lunch spot that is great value a short walk away that is on the michelin guide.

Would highly recommend for a couples stay.

The staff was very friendly. However, we could not fully enjoy our stay. The place is not to be recommended to people who need to stay in the shade.
The balconies have no sunshades. And many self-centered guests reserve occupy the sunbeds at the pool for the whole day, even if they don't use it. Most of the time they walk off to the restaurant, to their rooms or whereever. So other guests don't get a chance to use any of these facilities.

The buildings are quite dispersed and the walkways are uneven making it difficult to walk around the property. Also, the interior of the room also has uneven little steps in and out of the bathroom, a big tripped hazard. Breakfast selections were ok. The hot foods never seems to be served hot, Luke warm at best. The staff was definitely kind, cheerful and helpful.

We were super impressed with our stay at Rocky’s.
The staff were so warm and friendly and kind.
Nothing was any trouble and the facilities were all kept clean.
Lots of little extra touches made the experience so enjoyable.
BBQ Dinner on the beach on a Saturday night - complimentary cocktails for an hour Thursday night.
Happy hour (for two hours) every night. If you don’t want to leave the hotel you don’t need to!
Two pools to choose from. Pool table and library. The beach for a swim or take out the sup / canoe for a paddle. Plenty to do!

Very cute beach resort, tastefully decorated with a good restaurant, 2 nice pools and very kind and helpful staff. The beach is small, the sand is course and the water not great for swimming. We stayed in a garden room and if we were to go here again would definitely spring for the pool or sea view rooms as they offer better views and more privacy.

Nice hotel but a few things missing

Overall a nice experience. Modern and spacious rooms, two nice pool areas, helpful and nice staff, overall good food. Things that could have been better: 1) Prices: The restaurant at the hotel is way overpriced, around 3 times what you would pay at a local restaurant. They add 20% service charge on all food & drink bills. 2) Location: Feels a bit far from things you would want to see on the island. There is a shuttle service until 5 pm, at the top of each hour. For a hotel of this level, I'd have expected the shuttle service to be much more frequent and easier to book. We ended up using taxis a lot, which was an added expense. 3) Spa: No health forms or injury questions before a massage. You just walk in and they start. I had to warn about an ankle injury during a massage.

Really superb boutique hotel.

I was nearly a bit cautious about booking Rocky’s because they had so many good reviews I wondered if it was real. I’m so glad I went ahead - this is a hotel that deserves them all. We had a magnificent stay here and were made to feel so welcome by the staff, delicious breakfast, amazing room on the beach….we could go on, but this would rank amongst the one of the best stays I’ve had worldwide.

Only one negative - Rocky’s also unfortunately refers to the beach in parts, but the resort does provide reef shoes.

Stayed here with our 14 month old in a pool suite villa. It was ideal, we moved from the beach to the pool, the pool to the beach. Staff were amazing and new our sons name for every meal. Highly recommend this place! I would stay here again. The transfer to and from the airport also had a baby seat for the car!

Great hotel, team and service overall.

A little out of the way and taxis not always available to flag down. However, there’s drivers who sometimes give out business cards so can drop them a message for pick up.

Breakfast is solid mix of western and Thai :)
Beach is not really a beach given how rocky it is - I got an injury whilst there - but take a taxi to Lamai beach (3 mins) and you’re all good.

What was meant to be a 6 night stay turned into a 18 night stay! We were very happy with our stay at the hotel which ticked all the boxes in terms of comfort, cleanliness and service. The front line staff were highly attentive, friendly and courteous. It was refreshing to see the management team take time out to speak to guests and going out of their way to make themselves approachable. Admittedly, having a room less than 10 metres from the sea did wonders for a positive sentiment about the hotel, though it also helps that none of the team were prone to complacency.

Overall we found Rocky’s as an excellent property with the great accomodation offering and pools. Food at the resort was also enjoyable (with only one below par dish during our entire stay, which happened to be a most expensive dish).

Additional services offered by the resort itself (I.e transfers, tours, Poolside meals, etc.) were executed well and professionally. We did have a island tour arranged by the hotel with an external party, which unfortunately did not live up to our expectations, although it would be hard to entirely blame the resort for this!

We as family of two adults and two young girls had a fantastic 4 nights/5 days stay at Rocky’s boutique resort at the end of December 2019. There were many excellent things to mention including , the lovely accommodation spread out amongst exquisite and beautifully maintained resort grounds . There are various nooks and crannies which are well done. We had a lovely private boat trip on Josephine and captain Bao and his helper were superb. The fishing and snorkelling was very good. The next day we had a private island tour. Pools are on smaller side but very well maintained. The private beach is small but clean and good. The bbq night with fire dancers was wonderful.
The breakfast buffet was excellent. Ala Cart food at both restaurant and bistro were very good. Pizzas were outstanding. Overall staff were friendly and very efficient. Special mention to Alex the manager, Arianne, Jack at the fine dining restaurant , Sao at the noodle counter.

What could be improved a bit more : the private island car trip driver could be more interactive and give general trip details of places visiting or worth visiting.

Rocky's Boutique far exceeded even the best expectations. The staff were absolutely incredible and so attentive - down to the smallest details of constantly replenishing ice cold water by the pool and giving out complimentary fresh fruit mid morning.
The resort was remarkably well kept with beautiful flowers and greenery all around - the photos really don't do it justice at all.
I would highly recommend staying at this resort if you would like a few days to completely relax and unwind. The only draw back is that it is quite a walk into Lamai - however the hotel does provide a free shuttle if you would like to explore that area.
It's a wonderful place to stay and should I come back to Koh Samui in the future I will certainly be staying again.

Rocky's is a beautiful resort with lovely tropical gardens, stylish eateries, relaxing pools and a pleasant view over the water and a small clean beach (though not great for swimming). Unfortunately the accommodation was disappointing - I paid for a Junior Sea View Suite though it was really just a room in a noisy position on the lower part of the entry road, with a partial view of the water if you stood out on the tiny entry porch. The bed was really uncomfortable and squeaky, the air-conditioning dripped water over the bed (we report this and it was fixed same night). I reported my disappointment in private to the manager before we left but as I got no response at all I am putting my experience in the review. (My partner was offered a free massage voucher 5 minutes before we left for the airport).

Beautiful, calm and relaxing resort in Koh Samui

Lovely place. Great staff service. The restaurant menu is really good. They have a few tables on the rocks facing the ocean and under the moonlight making a great view for dinner. There's a great fire show on the beach as well (really entertaining!) The staff/managers were very friendly and went above and beyond helping us booking tours and changing flights. Both swimming pools are clean and big. Their bar is amazing for late drinks at night. Totally recommend the place if you looking for a beautiful, calm, relaxing place to stay in Koh Samui.

A little bit of paradise on Samui

Absolutely stunning resort. Beautifully lit at night to give a romantic ambience. There is the added bonus of a gorgeous stretch of private beach where there are plenty of super comfy sun loungers and umberellas! There is also free use of a couple of kayaks, which can be used to explore the coastline. The accommodation is very tastefully decorated and the cleanliness is second to none. We ate at both restaurants and each time the food was superb are the breakfast options. The main thing that sets this hotel apart from others of the same quality though is the staff! They are incredibly attentive, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The staff obviously enjoy working here. A very special shout out to Banana who worked tirelessly and made us feel so much at home. I cannot recommend Ricky’s enough and will absolutely stay there on my next visit to Samui!

Our first hotel for our Koh Samui trip. We were welcomed with Rocky’s warm and friendly staff for the duration of our stay (3 nights). They also helped us organise the Anthong Marine Park tour which we did some research online for, noting the large disparity in prices (and providers) for the tour. We were unable to differentiate between them so asked Rocky’s reception to assist. They told us that the tour they chose have been inspected and provided at a reasonable cost. The resort definitely has a boutique feel about them. We particularly enjoyed the daily events that was available and the complimentary happy hour during our stay.

I absolutely love this resort!! Everything thing in the rooms and around the resort is so well thought out and it is just a beautiful place to stay. They even did a honeymoon spread in our room with lovely fresh flowers. I would definitely come back and stay in the beachfront room (305) again. It was pure bliss!

The staff are so amazing! Right from setting foot out the taxi on arrival, the staff make you feel so welcome. They make sure to have a chat with you at breakfast, when they see you around the resort, nothing is too much for them. Jack, Banana and the lovely lady behind the live cooking station at breakfast (who cut me up some dragonfruit because i was curious) were the kindest and friendliest people i have come across on holiday, so thank you for making our trip that little bit more enjoyable!!

Stayed for my sons wedding, which was fantastic the hotel and staff could not do enough for us, The wedding and reception was on the private beach which was immaculately presented Food was amazing.
The day after the wedding was my wife birthday and our own anniversary I booked the hotels Thai cooking class consisting of 4 courses an amazing experience and the chief and staff were up for a laugh with us again brilliant when we returned to the room the bed had been done in flowers with happy birthday she also had a cake, I should of taken the credit for smarty points but in truth it was all the hotel details gained from her passport would definitely recommend and return

Great location. Quiet but easy to reach Lamai and Chaweng. The resort itself has been carefully designed into the surrounding topography which gives it a unique and special feel. We stayed at Rockys between 17 Feb and 02 Mar. Beautiful location with the most attentive staff committed to giving you the best in customer service. The room was wonderfully decorated with a comfortable queen sized bed and modern en suite with a fabulous shower. Room was cleaned to a high standard daily and was attended to in the evening to turn the bed down and leave a small treat for bed time. Location was perfect with a private beach and 3 pools. It never felt busy or crowded and we always got a sunbed where we wanted. Staff were in hand with free iced water and poolside service for drinks from the bar or food from the restaurant. We loved Rockys and will return again.

Cannot recommend highly enough! Rocky's was a beautiful, tranquil and well maintained resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff, wonderful food, and lots of great extras, including day spa, kayaks, day trips and transfers. The private beach was fantastic, as were the two pools and two restaurants. The location just out of Lamai is great if you are looking for a more quiet/relaxed getaway, as it is much less busy than the main area in Chaweng.

You won't regret a stay at Rocky's.

We are globally really satisfied by the place and the staff (VERY Friendly)
It s quiet and the Breakfast is consistent and good although a bit repetitive after 8 days.
The view is really great and we enjoyed the week we had despite the almost every day rain.

Main areas of improvement are the high price of motorbike renting & airport shuttle (twice the average regular price)
Also we felt that sometimes the staff at reception was \"too Business oriented\", always trying to sell as many stuff as possible.

Beautiful resort in a great quiet location. From the initial airport pickup to the drop off, everything was 5 star service. The resort itself visually beautiful with a private beach, beach side restaurants and two large pools. Our room was beach side, very large with lovely features. Overall a perfect relaxing resort. Free kayaking was a particular highlight! The staff were exceptionally sweet and accommodating. The Wednesday night cocktails event was especially thoughtful, with complimentary drinks for the guests! We would absolutely recommend the resort and will hope to return one day :)

Staff is very nice and very helpful and hotel's facilities are clean. The location is quite and away from the busy beaches. Therefore transportation is required to tour around the island or go to some popular areas in the island.

Very impressed

We are four 19year old girls on our first friends holiday and we were made to feel very welcome in this hotel. All of the staff were lovely, friendly and incredibly accommodating and helpful with whatever we needed. Perfect location, have their own private section of the beach, with kayaking and snorkelling. Two lovely swimming pools and there was food for everyone throughout the day. The evening entertainment was fantastic, with a BBQ on the beach and fire show as examples. We especially enjoyed the island tour, which the hotel organised for us. Very relaxing and a great start to our tour around Thailand, would highly recommend

Excellent beach resort for a relaxed stay.

Our experience at Rocky's was excellent. Hotel staff was very polite and courteous. Rooms were clean and spacious. Nearby beach was well maintained. We had a very relaxed and peaceful stay at the resort. We wished we stayed for longer.

Good getaway

Lovely staff who make this resort so enjoyable. The beach is not suitable for swimming, ie very shallow and lots of broken coral but it is ok for sitting on a sun bed. The beachside pool was closed for repairs while we were there which meant the other pool could be full with no seats available. Good sized room and very comfortable bed. A few restaurants within walking distance along the road.

Nice place!

Great experience in a beautiful setting. Excellent and thoughtful service. Not much to improve on here! This resort is best for a quiet get away as it takes a bit of time or driving to get anywhere else, but it is full service and honestly, there's no specific need to leave if you can afford it. We rented a motorbike to travel around the island, and it was fun!

Gorgeous resort, Great staff.

This resort was the most beautifully decorated place we stayed during our entire trip. Every detail was thoughtfully executed. The lighting at night is divine. We ate at the Boutique Restaurant our first night and it was delicious. We had the chef’s 5 course menu. There is not much of a beach on this side of Ko Samui but you can still kayak and swim a bit since it’s on the Gulf side of the island. The lady that checked us in was super welcoming and helpful, along with all the other staff. The food menu by the pool is limited and a little strange with what I like to call “spaghetti nachos”, don’t get them, get the wings. Overall great experience. Don’t forget to plan your day trip to Ko Tao for snorkeling with whale sharks or the Marine Park in advance!

Spent few days in this excellent hotel during our honeymoon. Everything was great. The view from the room (got upgraded to Beach View room) was wonderful. Very quit, on a private beach, yet a few minutes ride from Lamai. The hotel operates several free rides to Lamai and Chaweng each day. We also very enjoyed the food here. Definitely would recommend.

Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful hotel.

The best hotel ever. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The 2 pools and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Always somewhere special to sit, whether on the rocks overlooking the beach or at the top pool in a day bed, as just 2 examples. We enjoyed our Thai cooking experience in the hotel and will be trying out the recipes at home. Such a unique place and somewhere we will never forget.

Quite and simply gorgeous

Love this gorgeous place. Where do I start; From the minute we arrived to the time we left, we had splendid experience.

I was visiting with my Wife and Daughter. This was our first time to Koh Samui. I was very hesitant on booking online but am so thankful, I chose Rocky's.

The great part of this resort is, it is away from all the noise. But at the same time, not far from town. It takes only 30 min to chewang by cab (around 500 B). This place has its own private beach and the water is so very blue and still. We lazed at the pool which overlooks the beach (served by ever attentive Rock, a great guy with impeccable service).

This place has a great Thailand brewed ale beer, which you will not find easily on the island.

The girls are always there to help and serve. Our Daughter had a great time.

There is a great massage place just outside the resort. We are definitely going to come
Back to this place. We stayed for 4 nights and loved every moment.

Luxurious Island Get-Away

I was traveling for some R & R, and Rocky's turned out to be the perfect place. The staff seemed genuinely interested in being helpful rather than presenting as tourist weary. The grounds, decorations, and amenities provided an upscale Thai ambiance that set the stage for a total luxurious tropical island get-away. I was so grateful that it was not near the busy tourist area shops and bars, but it was easy enough to take the shuttle there if wanted. The staff assisted in setting up a nice tour of the island for me and any other experience I was seeking. But I did not want to be away from the hotel much because it was so relaxing. The food was also wonderful. Some who preferred to swim on a white sandy beach, found areas near town to visit, but I enjoyed the rocky cliff overlooking the ocean for dining, reading, and Thai massage. It felt private rather than being stacked with other hotels along a beach. This was a special place, and I am so glad that I found it.

Higher standards than in most western hotels, not comparable to the normal thai hotel. Managed by a Farang who seems to know what he's doing. Only disadvantage.... prices are rather western standard too

So much better than a large rectangular resort!

We had a fantastic stay at Rockys. A small family (two boys 5&7) were very well catered for. The staff are super friendly and the room perfect for us with a view to the ocean and large balcony.
Our boys made friends with the a few meme era of the staff, combing the beach for rocks and helping with setting tables. All very inclusive. Something you don't get from a larger resort!
The free use of kayaks are great. I recommend taking a small trip to the local reggae bar on the rocks and grab somebody drinks in a great rustic atmosphere.
I would also take a 3 min walk along the road for a wonderful massage. Extremely friendly and the boys loved having some attention.
All in all a great experience. I highly recommend Rockys. And say hello to 'Arm' and 'Rock' from Fabian and Felix for us!

An amazing experience...

This is the 2nd time we were at Rocky's. Its an amazing place. Boutique style resort, where they have thought of every little detail. The decorations are just amazing and with flowers every where. The service is in top. The 2 pool areas are just great. One for kids and families and one just for adults who wants a quiet time on their own. A private beach with a great view.
The food is very tasty and delicious.
We had a beach front villa with a super view and own little beach in front.
Rooms are nicely decorated and with a large bathroom.
If I was to find 2 things that could be better it was the missing bathtub in the bathroom and that the massage on the beach front is a little pricy.
But all in all we had a fantastic stay as a family with 2 kids (4+7).
