The hotel is very charming and located in a quiet part of town in an old stone building. Check-In was easy. The owner is very nice and extremely helpful. The room was confortable and clean. The quality of the breakfast was outstanding. Croissants, crepes, bread, yogurt, fruit, juice, specially made coffee, eggs on request and much more. The service in the breakfast area was wonderful as well. We will definitely return.

We chose a hotel within walking distance of Saumur and it was so convenient for all amenities although we were visiting on Sunday and Monday when everywhere is closed. We chose a junior suite which was on the top floor but there was a lift which helped us as we had to make our own way to our room without assistance. The owners were delightful but the accommodation was very tired and the shower room was extremely small with room for one person only. There was room in the suite for a freestanding bath but there was no bath and we felt as if we were in the roof. The breakfast which had been given good revues on Expedia we felt was fairly basic with only a hot option of a boiled egg and hams on request for nearly 20 euros each. We can only base our experience on other hotels we visited on this trip and we were slightly disappointed.Parking was available but limited and the owner prefers to move the vehicles due to the tight space available. To conclude the hotel is in a great central location and the owners are delightful but was disappointed with the accommodation and breakfast. Would rate it as 2/3 star only

The living room on the website isn't available!

We chose this hotel for a number of reasons - location, decor, online very positive reviews, etc. We also annually spend a few days in the Loire and part of the time we like to relax in the parlor or lounge and read or catch up on email. The parlor at Hotel Saint-Pierre looked lovely online - and indeed it was as we saw it at one point - but now the manager or proprietor uses it as their own space. This was very disappointing as it was one of the priorities when choosing the hotel. We asked the proprietor about the space - that's when he informed us that he uses it now. HOWEVER it is still on the hotel's website as one of the available common spaces! We definitely felt misled in this instance. Overall, the hotel was quite charming - the beds weren't as comfortable as we'd have liked but otherwise it was a comfortable and welcoming space.

Very high quality. Beautiful restoration of a medieval building with sumptuous rooms , that while not large are so fully equipped you feel true luxury. Front desk, bar and other staff were very helpful and friendly, seemed to really like their jobs and patrons!

The hotel does have a few parking spaces right outside the door of the hotel and if a spot wasn't available, they were happy to park the car for you. The rooms were very clean and the hotel was within walking distance to shopping, dining options.

This is in a fantastic location. In fact it couldn’t be better. The hosts were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for you. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 star is because the shower cubicle was so small I couldn’t move around in it. We were in room 21 so perhaps this would be better in other rooms. Otherwise I couldn’t fault it so thank you

Loved this hotel. Super charming. Our host, Regence (?) was the most friendly. Our room was gorgeous. I'd say our only downside was that it was a warm room and the A/c wasn't enough to cool us down. Weird time of year (mid-late October) and it was unseasonably warm. But breakfast was delightful, the hotel super charming. Loved it and would go back again.

Beautiful, peaceful little boutique hotel in the heart of old Saumur, conveniently located in the main town square next to an old church. Very friendly staff, beautifully appointed rooms. We stayed for 3 nights while exploring the Loire Valley Castles. The owner George and his wife were very helpful with sightseeing suggestions and restaurant recommendations. Overall, we felt like we stayed with good friends. The breakfast had local produce and was delicious. The hotel is located next to the town square with an abundance of restaurants and cafes, just steps away from the Castle. The Castle grounds stay open 24/7 and are magnificent. Will definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

The good - hotel was in the middle of the town and hotel was beautifully interiorly designed. Bed was comfortable.
The bad - the owners were not particulerly friendly to say the least. The bedroom was very dark and gloomy.
We were told to park in a space next to a church opposite the hotel. When we returned to our car 2 days later it was covered in bird excrement which was baked onto the paint work due to the hot sun. It has seriously marked all the paint work which will cost money to repair. The hotel staff would have known about this problem and it turned out there were other parking spaces on the hotel property. NOT impressed.

The hotel is in an excellent location for the pedestrian area of the old town. It’s literally 1 min walk into one of the main squares and 2 mins to the river. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Comfortable beds and a good sized bathroom. Definitely recommended.

What a beautiful hotel. It’s exquisitely decorated and immaculately clean. The owners are gracious and helpful. It’s a wonderful location to explore this side of the river. We walked to a wine tasting, up to the Chateau for the fall grape harvest festival and then to dinner. A perfect day.

Lovely ancient building in a great location, very comfortable and excellent breakfast (yes, you have to pay extra, but its worth it - just sit down and they will bring a tray of fruits, breads, croissants, jams, cheese, coffees and more). Parking is more convenient than described and you’re bang in the middle of the old town, yet secluded, with restaurants 100 paces away in the market square. Well worth it, we’ll certainly return one day.

Loved that he just gave us his bikes to use for the day instead of us renting and also loved that he said if we got stuck or had problems, he would come and get us. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay . The room was perfect - very clean, good a/c, more than comfortable and beautifully presented. We had a very friendly welcome from Regis on arrival and he quickly found us somewhere to park right outside the door. The whole team were second to none. Breakfast was an experience in itself. A seemingly endless supply of local produce. High quality and taken in an elegant and serene breakfast room. We would love to return.

Very individual place, elegant old building close to Chateau, with arty decor, fabrics and furnishings, good a/c in bedroom. Quiet location despite close proximity to bars and restaurants. Limited amount of free parking in lane outside is a bonus. Fabulous breakfast at €15.50, we were totally spoilt for choice. A great option if visiting Samur.

A really great hotel in a fantastic location in the heart of Saumur. The building is a combination of traditional charm with an elegant renovation. Regis and Georges are charming hosts and the breakfast is a showcase for some fine local produce. As a base for a business trip, it exceeds all expectations and I would imagine its location (less than five minutes from the Chateau and the Loire would would make it ideal.

Definitely my choice for my next trip to Saumur.

The hotel is very well located in the centre of town just below the chateau. As the hotel is located on a pedestrian only street it can be a little difficult to access by car. I parked on the street but then was given a parking space at the back of the hotel. The reception was very friendly, the hotel was very smartly decorated, clean and comfortable. Very good toiletterie products and very good breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel, well located in Saumur - in fact, literally around the corner from a main square, and an easy walk to everything. The host is very friendly and rooms are spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed and a decent size. My only complaint is the quality of mattresses.....it's time to replace them! The ones in our room had been well used...you literally sank into the middle and we were well ready to get out of bed in the morning. If not for the old mattresses, I would have rated this hotel 5/5 in every element. We've found the same issue in many beautiful old European hotels, certainly not unique to this one.

Lovely old building beautifully restored in recent times. Very comfortable bed but quite a small shower tray in our bathroom. Our hosts were helpful and gave advice on the local restaurants and where to see the best of the old town. The breakfast was served in a bright conservatory to the rear of the hotel. Organic, local and bio produce was provided which was delicious. The owner has a vast selection of single malt Scotch whisky which he is happy to discuss. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Perfect location near restaurants and markets

Situated in the heart of Saumur, the Hôtel Saint-Pierre offers extremely helpful service and a high standard of comfort. It is literally a few steps away from the main square with many restaurants and just a few hundred meters from the Loire and Chateau. Facilities, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and space met our needs completely. I have already recommended the Hôtel Saint-Pierre to friends. It will be our choice whenever we are in the region again.

This is one of the nicest Hotels I have stayed at.
It is located in a very good position close to Restaurants, Shops, the Chateau and the River.
The owner Reggie did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable.
The Breakfast was excellent, a good choice and plenty of it, which is unusual for French Hotels.
Our room was cosy, with a lovely Bathroom, and the Bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on.
Will be returning in the future, but will choose time when the weather will be warmer. !
