The hotel was in a good position handy to the Chateau, and within walkable distance ,(less than 2km) from Musee de Blindes.
The room was spacious and on the ground floor, with access to a terrace. Unfortunately the guest room area hallway to the rear of the property smelled musty, and we noticed that the wall lining paper in the room was wet around the terrace doors.

The breakfasts were very nice with pastries, cereal, yogurt, cold meats and cheese, plus scrambled eggs and bacon.

The staff were helpful, polite and pleasant.

Saumur and the surrounding area is a very pretty region, and well worth a visit.

Wonderful hotel close to Chateau de Saumur

I wish I booked this place for more than one night. Clean and cozy room with supportive and kind staff. The only challenge was parking as you need to book your spot beforehand or at least as soon as you arrive.

Great Location in Samur.

Hôtel was in an excellent location with walking to all sites in old quarter. Parking available at hotel for 10 euros / night. Room was small but clean and very quiet as we like to sleep with window open. Breakfast was available for 13 euros. This is a 3 star hotel at best.

Highly recommend. Excellent location & decor - spacious, with balcony window out onto Main Street. Saumur is quiet & relaxing, with plenty to see. Staff were all superb! Parking on site & air con. Breakfast/service was efficient and of a very high standard. Only negative was 3 of 4 sockets on wall next to bed were not working (had to move coffee maker). 4.5 out of 5

Lovely little hotel in the centre of Saumur, walking distance to great restaurants, Cathedral and Chateau. Front of house staff incredibly helpful and polite - a real pleasure to stay here, we especially appreciated the AC. You won’t get much a view from the room but rooms are spotless and showers hot. Good selection at breakfast - pasties, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and cold meat. Note the lift was not working when we visited.

The property was uniquely decorated, and had everything needed to make this a convenient stay for us. Everything was within walking distance, and there were many good restaurants nearby. We chose not to have our breakfast at the hotel, although it was available. We felt it was quite pricey, and there were plenty of places you can get a croissant and a cup of coffee nearby. That's all we would have had, so there was no point in spending the money for a breakfast that was far more than we'd eat. The shower was nice, and welcome after a day of travel. Staff was professional and friendly. Parking was onsite, and behind a locked gate. We felt safe there, and would stay again. Recommended.

Extremely warm welcome and super helpful staff who were able to accommodate an early arrival without any issue. Beautifully appointed room with a private terrace. Receptionist/ bartender Paulina a delightful and very helpful person and a real asset to hotel. Breakfast lady will provide anything you ask for: used to make fresh decaf coffee for me every morning. Good outside decking space to sit and sample the local wine. Didn't like the separate loo/ shower arrangement (loo was small) but other hotels we stayed in have also split these facilities so must be trend.

The hotel is clean, fresh and tidy but maintains its impressive history as well. Right in the centre of Saumur it is minutes away from place St Pierre and within easy striking distance of all the sites. Has parking but you need to book in advance.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast looked very nice although we chose a long lie in over breakfast.

Really quite surprised- I didn't expect the hotel to be as good as it was based on price. It is situated right in the centre of Saumur, ticketed parking right outside and free onstreet parking within 100m. WIFI was a bit slow but that was the only negative. Friendly staff. Lovely public areas. Comfortable air conditioned room. No lift if that is important to you.

Great Hotel in Saumur Town Centre

Well situated hotel in the Saumur town centre, with limited, off-street parking available (for a small cost). You do need to pre-book the parking directly with the hotel to be sure of availability. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and spoke good english. Our room was on the first floor (there is no lift) and was at the back of the hotel - view only of the other buildings. It was comfortable, clean and decorated in clean and modern style. The loo was separate to the shower area, the latter being enclosed by louvre doors - clean, good sized shower. Wi-fi was good. The breakfast area was light and airy, modern and spacious - adjacent to the reception area. We didn't take breakfast so I can't comment on the food/service, but the breakfast selection looked fairly standard for a continental option. The hotel is in the town centre, and so is convenient to all of the shops and the many/ varied restaurants, bars, etc. We timed our visit to coincide with the wine festival, which was great - brilliant opportunity to sample and buy the wines of the region. We also met some great people. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Perfectly clean and nice hotel, offers everything you need for a stay in Saumur and has extremely friendly and helpful staff. Our room was close the the Hall way / stairs, so quite loud in the morning when people were going to breakfast. The room was a bit dirty - I don’t think the floor was vacuum cleaned after the previous guests. Otherwise everything was great! Nothing too complain about.

Pros: the area is great, parking is nice and safe, wifi is strong, rooms are well decorated and clean, shower was spacious, breakfast was typical French (not American) but nice, staff was friendly, etc.

Cons: Honestly not too many cons. I would love some more substantial options at breakfast, and possibly some drip coffee, but overall the stay was fine. Also, the rooms are all on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. The staff will help carry bags up the stairs if they're around, but it could be a problem potentially if you can't carry your own.

Stopped here on our way back from the Dordogne to the ferry. Relaxing comfy hotel, good breakfast would recommend and use the hotel again. Helpful staff guided us to a reasonable restaurant.
Off street Car parking for a few rooms so book in advance.

Clean Older Hotel in Good Location But No Elevator

This is an older hotel with no elevator in an excellent location a few blocks from shops, restaurants, the chateau, and the Loire River. The staff are friendly and helpful and doing the best they can to make the most of a building more than 100 years old. Room was like a studio with sink and shower in the same room as the bed. Lugging suitcases up two flights of winding stairs was a struggle.

The hotel was in a central location, very clean and good sized room.
When we arrived, the outside temperature was 38 degs and the receptionist informed us that the air conditioning was not working. They had put a large fan in the room and we managed ok. In the morning, the owner also apologised about the a/c and gave us a free breakfast. There was plenty of choice. All in all, a very comfortable stay.

Home away from Home!

We were two couples traveling for our 30th anniversary. We rented the two apartments in the hotel and they were perfect! The hotel is right in the center of town and within walking distance of several great restaurants and shops, yet it very quiet.

The apartments were clean, spacious and well equipped. We had almost everything we needed and when we realized we we did not have an ice bucket and champagne glasses, the host went into their private apartment to give us theirs, filling the bucket with ice.

The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of variety.

The two apartments are the only rooms on the third floor. Although there is not an elevator, the host carried our luggage up to the third floor despite our willingness to carry our luggage. I observed him telling other guests to leave their luggage in the first floor lobby and he would bring it up.

The host, Francois, was very helpful with recommendations of what to see and helped us to prioritize the short amount of time we had in Saumur, which is a lovely place with a lot to see and do

I would highly recommend this hotel for it's location, cleanliness, breakfast and most of all, the wonderful hosts1

Value for money at Hotel Londres in Saumur, France

This is a good value hotel. On the down side, the car park is less than convenient and there is no elevator. So, with rooms on the first floor and above you have a bit of a hike from the car with your bags. However, once that's done and you're in the room, there little to complain about here. Friendly and very helpful staff, a pleasant clean room with a great shower - one of the best we came across using economical hotels across northern central France. .A bit patchy with the wIfI, but the staff were all over it to help resolve a problem - on balance, you need to remember Saumur is a small town really so there's no good reason to complain if one or two things do not stack up to what you might expect in London or Paris.

The hotel is well situated to the old town and main tourist area. The room was large, clean and quiet at night. On the negative side, the Wifi signal wasn't very strong and I had to go to the lobby to use it effectively. Breakfast was okay. They had scrambled eggs but didn't refill the dish when we were there. We are traveling with bikes and the bike storage was safe and convenient

very pleased with the hotel - better than the 2 star rating which is possibly because there is no lift? central position in a fabulous town in the heart of the loire valley, with nearby walking access to the chateau, restaurants, shops and the river. would recommend this for families and anyone able to carry their own bags up stairs!
