Decent place for a night; inaccurate description

The hotel description does not mention that the hot tub and sauna are only available for an extra fee. The beds were not comfortable, and the air condition unit was not sufficient for the room so it remained hot. The pool was small and very crowded, and the wood around the pool was rotten in spots. The view from the area was beautiful, and the service and drinks in the bar were good. Reception was friendly once I found her (no one was available upon arrival for about 10-15 minutes).

Everything was wonderful. I stayed there 5 days and tried everything, le petit déjeuner delicious, le dîner incredible ! Only thing I didn’t know is that I had to pay extra to enjoy the jacuzzi (why isn’t it included ?). I needed it to warm up bc coming from Miami, the drop in temperature was brutal :). But it’s ok I still loved it ! Thank you !

Amazing view and best dinners!

It was just perfect.
The room had all confort and the view was just amazing. Newly studios for all comforts. The cherry on the cake
Is the restaurant. We were welcomed by Benoit, the restaurant owner and he made our dinners the best experience in Saumur. He was kind and welcoming notably with our kid. A true family- run experience, we felt at home!

Family room and pool was great. However we had no working toilet for 1.5 days of a 2 day stay. Unless you choose a set menu the food choice is diabolical. So upset at this place hell would freeze over before we stayed again.service.

The food in the on site restuarant was amazing, the chef employed their is an artist with her food. The room was very comfortable and perfect for our needs, slight downside for it is the distance from the town centre, but the staff would be happy to order you a taxi should you want to head in to town for the evening.

Didn't realize we had booked a cottage/apartment vs standard room, but so glad we did! Didn't need/utilize the kitchen, but really appreciated the large, bright room, \"dining\" table and private deck. Wonderful peaceful setting and easy drive to the Tank Museum and Riding School (about 5minutes down the road).

Was better two years ago

We stayed in 2016 and again in Sept 2018. It was a much more pleasent experience last time. The room this time was at the top of several flights of stairs and we had a lot of luggage to carry up. The view wasn't great as not facing Saumur but the house opposite.
We arrive 40 mins early but the reception desk was closed for check in so we had a drink in the bar, at an outside table. It was busy in the restaurant and the staff didn't pay much attention to us. Eventually we got a cup of tea for €3.50 but it was a tiny cup, not very warm and didn't come with any milk.

Lovely hotel, relaxed and welcoming.

Lovely hotel and pool. Spacious family room which was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Stayed with 2 children and our dog, and we all loved this hotel used as a 2 night stopover before heading further South. Would definitely recommend.

The only negative comment i have about the hotel is the hours of the front desk. Coming from the US, it would have been nice to have 24 hour front desk service. The hours are from 7:30am- 10:00pm. Other than that the view was breathtaking and staff outstanding.

Hotel a little out Saumur and on a hill, however a really good cycle route and the restaurant was very good. Fantastic views of Saumur from the hotel pool! Really accessible for other sites in the area.

Room was small but good bathroom and small private terrace. Clean but hot at night, fan but no air con.
Pool was welcome after days sightseeing and the views were amazing.
Ate in restaurant one night, service was very slow. Staff very apologetic.

Quiet & well serviced

This hotel is located 5km from Saumur and overlooks the city. It is in a quiet location, next to an aerodrome, which seems to be used for sky-diving.

It is well-appointed, with modern furnishing. It has an open air swimming pool and an excellent restaurant.

We used it twice in a week on our outward and return journeys and were most impressed. It also could be a good venue for visiting the region. However, there are no bars or restaurants within walking distance.

Nice hotel in the countryside

We were traveling as a family and needed 4 family rooms and they had them. We are grateful for GPS because it helped us find something that would have been difficult. It was not too far from the Caves restaurant where we also had reservations for dinner. We had the breakfast, and some children swam in the very nice pool. It was a nice experience for all.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff

Lovely little hotel. Ticked all the boxes for relaxed atmosphere, tidy facilities, and friendly staff for the hotel and restaurant. Although the hotel is situated slightly outside of Saumur, this meant for amazing views, and on night we were unable to book a taxi however the restaurant manager volunteered to drive us in then pick us up after we'd eaten dinner- couldn't have asked for more considerate service!

Good base for some of the less visited château (Montsoreau, Brézé) as well as the usual ones. Nice pool. Good breakfast, but lay out rather congested. Restaurant good for adults, but children's menu is very limited, although the staff kindly produced pasta that was not on the menu.

A place for one night

Comfortable enough. Bathroom and bedroom on different levels. You have to clean the kitchenette or they charge you 30€. No view. Pool is right beside dining area. We felt on display. Room was hot and stuffy despite fans. Doors really head to lock. Staff was very pleasant. A night or two is enough.

Close to being very good. I got the feeling that it's gradually being updated (at least the room we stayed in). The location was good and the pool nicely heated. A great base from which to explore the Loire Valley.

Etat du bâtiment vieillissant, pas de prise près de lit, pas de prise sur le meuble de la bouilloire on est obligé de faire chauffer la bouilloire au sol.
Ma chaise de chambre se désintégrait laissant plein de petits morceaux noires partout (sur mes vêtement aussi mais parti à la machine à laver).
Heureusement la gentillesse du personnel rattrape le tout.

Interesting place

Apparently this was the cheapest possible room of the hotel, in a separate building apartment. The room was clean except the bathroom would need more scrubbing (there's visible rust stains and calc in the shower) and someone has left a black string on the mat - dont know why or where from. This was just a detail though.

The worst thing was that the whole time, anyone could've have come to the door and see inside the apartment. Actually, that was possible from the walkway already, if I've left lights on. The curtains were blocking nothing and anyone could've seen inside - that left quite worrying feeling. :(

Oberhalb des Loire Tal gelegen bietet sich ein fantastischer Ausblick. Sehr gutes Essen und reichhaltiges Frühstück. Die Zimmer in kleinen Häusern sind zweckmäßig und gut, auch ein Pool ist vorhanden. Ab und zu Live-Musik.

Point positif : la très belle terrasse de la chambre
Pour le reste, besoin d'un rafraîchissement, l'espace détente ne vaut absolument pas le prix : manque de propreté, petit et si vous souhaitez profiter du bain nordique vous pas devant le restaurant et les gens en terrasse. Pensez à prendre des claquettes car ce n'est pas fourni et vous devez aller à l'extérieur.

Très bon hotel. Nous avions loué un studio. Ils sont très bien équipés, la literie est excellente. Grande piscine chauffée avec une très belle vue sur Saumur et son chateau. Parking juste devant les studios. Seul hic, nous devions avoir un studio avec vue, et sur les 3 studios de l'hôtel, un seul n'a pas la vue, et c'est celui que nous avons eu. Par contre, le tarif est le même que les autres, je trouve ça regrettable de payer la même chose que les autres alors que les prestations ne sont pas les mêmes.

Séjour de deux nuits pour visiter les environs, qualité moyenne des chambres le manque d'entretien de l'ensemble des éléments en bois (planchers, séparations) est flagrant. La terrasse est très agréable et bien située pour autant, le petit déjeuner est bien.

Zweckmässige Zimmer, Fitness mit 6 Geräten. Beheiztes Schwimmbad, schöne Terrasse. Schade dass Sauna zusätzlich 19€ kostet.
Restaurant serviert leckere Menü - sehr freundliche Bedienung.
Schönes Buffet zum Frühstück.

A Madame la Directrice de l établissement .
Sachez Madame que nous ne changerons pas l avis favorable ,que nous vous avons laissé sur les différents sites venant chez vous déjà depuis plusieurs semaines ,et ce malgré la très forte altercation que nous avons eu ce matin à notre départ , et qui justifie pour nous l annulation des différentes réservations que nous avions sur les semaines à venir .
Tenir un établissement comme le votre ou un commerce comme j ai pu avoir pendant 15 ans avec des salariés,quoi que vous puissiez penser le client est roi !!!!!!!! c est lui qui vous apporte l 'eau qui fait tourner le moulin même si ce n est qu une petite goutte d eau toutes les semaines . Bien entendu nous ne vous disons pas au plaisir de vous revoir .

Bel emplacement et concept sympa avec la petite piscine et le hammam. Personnel charmant. Les studios sont propres bien que vétustes. Par contre évitez à tout prix la restauration le repas est correct et non pas gastronomique, pain de la veille au petit déjeuner et jambon industriel racorni aux coins. C'est pourquoi j'ai mis une note moyenne ça ne mérite pas plus pour un prix relativement élevé.
