For large families, this would have been an ideal accommodation choice given the size. We had originally got a one-bedroom apartment, but was upgraded to a 2-bedder. As we there for work, the added space was a bonus for us. A little dated in terms of design, but clean.

The appliances were in excellent condition - pan, microwave, toaster, fridge and water boiler looked new.

My only gripe perhaps was that there was only one toilet for the whole apartment.

Had 2 large tvs (think they were 48 in) and connectivity with your own Netflix and Amazon Prime account was seamless (remember to sign out before you check out!)

For those on work, there’s a little lounge area behind the reception, which was perfect for us to have meeting with clients.

There’s a small supermarket connected which would meet most of your needs if you are cooking, or simply getting some bentos. There’s also the Jap restaurant (Morico) which was pretty decent and comes with a discount for hotel guests. It is also the breakfast partner for a price. Cafe also next door.

For food outside of the hotel, the best option nearby is Quan Nem Restaurant, which is a 5min walk away. Be prepared to queue though.

But the most important part is the staff. Friendly and helpful, they were always there. Makes you feel right at home.

Would be coming back for my next trip there!

Appliances and TVS however were either old or not functioning well. Hotel had to replace washer/dryer, and 1 TV that still did not work well afterwards.

The property is situated in a really central place in District 1 with access to a decent-sized minimart right within its lobby area and also several cafes within 1 min walking distance.

The room itself is visibly aged but all equipment are working well, including the washer/dryer and microwave in the room.

Facilities on-site were well staffed and well maintained. The gym and pool were a delight to use and the gym staff were all pleasant and attentive in their service even in the hot sun.

The one star deducted was because during our stay the resident lounge was still under renovation which meant we could not use that facility. It also meant that there was some constant renovation sounds and some messy hoarding on the ground floor.

That said, I would definitely consider staying here again for a trip to HCMC.

Good size units that are clean, albeit the decor is a bit outdated (remnants of 90s/early 2000 design). The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall the property is good value for the money.

The major pitfall was the fact that the property is undergoing exterior renovation, which we were not aware of before arrival. This meant that we were not able to use the balcony, leave the blinds open, nor open the living room door during the entire stay, which defeats the purpose of staying at a service residence. The property did not offer any form of compensation nor shown any gesture.

The pool was nice but there was no shade to rest under after a swim.

The property sits adjacent to the US and French consulates, and there are quite a few local food establishments nearby, along with a mini mart (Aeon Citimart) and a local coffee chain (Phuc Long Coffee) on the first floor of the property. There are also two 24 hour convenience stores (7-11 and Lawson’s) within 50 feet of the property.

We opted not to eat breakfast at the property as we wanted to experience local food, which were plentiful and very affordable.

The size of our room was perfect - 2 bed 1.5 bath, full kitchen and living area. Great location - AN Spa nearby was awesome. Market attached to property. Pool was fine. Gym was solid compared to what we’ve seen on our travels through Asia on this trip. Reasonable walk to Ben nghe market, Nguyen hue walking street, Saigon Centre and other locations. Staff was very nice. Combo washer dryer in the unit as well - which is a huge bonus when you’re on an extended vacation. Overall solid experience.

2-Bedroom Executive Apartment - comfortable family stay for 4 nights.

Location - Conveniently located in District 1. Approximately 20 mins drive away from Tan Son Nhat International. Can easily call for Grab within the city.

Apartment - It is an old establishment with expected wear and tear. Overall, a spacious clean apartment comes with a fully-equipped kitchen (cutlery, rice cooker, pots, etc) and frontload washing machine in the 2nd bathroom. Shower water pressure was strong. Beds were medium firm.

Food - Did not try the hotel breakfast. There is a convenience store on the ground floor in the same building.

Staff - Check-in and checkout are straightforward.

Slow problematic check-in. Sub-par service.

Check-in was problematic. The property manager did not have the reservation confirmation. I provided the confirmation number to check-in staff, yet they could not find it. Took almost 30minutes to allowed check-in. I reserved 2 premier 2-bedroom rooms. I was given 1-executive 2 bedrooms and 1 premier 2 bedrooms. I asked for a blender due to special dietary requirements, the answer was \"we don't have that\". Water for drinking was not enough for the stay. I called to have more provided, the response was that the housekeeping team is not on duty yet.

Great spacious space in central city for family

The front desk staffs were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the air conditioning in our bedroom was constantly blowing out hot air and didn’t work despite repetitive repairs until the last night of our stay (4 nights). The manager, Victor, apologised and offered to drive us to the airport as gesture of goodwill. Overall it was a lovely stay and although there wasn’t any big breakfast spread, the cooked breakfasts were a nice touch.

A bit out of the way, but fantastic for families!

The Somerset Chancellor Court (don't get confused with the other one!) is the perfect 'hotel' (serviced apt's) for families. We had our wedding in Saigon and had family and friends from all over the globe join us. As most had kids in tow, the Somerset's rooms/suites and facilities were fantastic. The rooms were spacious, kitchens were fully equipped, beds were comfortable, views were good (for those on higher floors), pool was nice, AC & wifi worked very well and the staff were very helpful when required. Housekeeping was very respectful of wishes and came back late in the afternoon when we needed the apartment one day.

The front desk was never terribly busy, so we were able to get help when required. The mini-mart (as well as the coffee shop) in the bottom of the hotel were very convenient, with surprisingly good prices for the store.

The only potential con I would mention is that the hotel is not in the middle of the city, but on the outskirts of the central downtown area. However, it is still only a 15 minute walk (5-10 min cab ride) from the absolute heart of Saigon, so not that bad at all. Actually, some people may actually find being out of the busy center a relief! There are some restaurants/bars nearby, but most worth going to require a walk/cab ride.

Just want to give a quick shout out to Tommy & Winnie - they knew it was our wedding trip and they were amazing in looking after us. Thank you guys, and all your staff, so much!

I heard that the property is 21 years old but the comfort and room facilities are much better than newer serviced apartments (names like Oxxxxxd and Exx) I have stayed in Ho Chi Minh city. I love the kitchen the most. Dishwashing liquid and detergent for washing machine were provided. Very thoughtful. My 1-bedroom apartment was quiet despite the traffic noise. The Aeon mart on the ground floor is awesome! I noticed the goods sold were catered to Westerners and most Asian nationalities eg Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese. The only quibble was one of the lifts (right one) was unresponsive to my card key and I had trouble getting up to my floor. The other lift was okay though.

The hotel is centrally located with lots of great coffee shops and restaurants surrounding the area. The hotel rooms are huge and well equipped with a shop available until late on the ground floor. The swimming pool is amazing at 20m long and 10m wide and hardly ever used - it was like having my own private pool most of the time. The only downside to Ho Chi Minh City is the diabolical traffic and awful motorbikes constantly stressing out pedestrian traffic - including on the pavements. It was so bad, I'd never go back to Saigon again which is a shame - the hotel was my oasis from the hell of the roads.

I would not give this place 4 stars.. overall the facilities are great but the big let down is the room smelt of old /wet carpet and there were multiple stains on the carpet which needs replacement. For some reason when you open the closets they smelt of wet /old carpet too, it seems like the room hasn't been occupied for a while.

A family holiday in Vietnam requiring a base to stay at. The hotel was an easy and inexpensive taxi trip to the centre of town. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was always kept clean and tidy by staff. Good value for money accommodation.

We have a wonderful stay at the 2 bedroom apartment at Somerset. There is a mini mart inside the building that make it very convenient for buy any food or grocery. There is also 2 cafe inside the building that serve very good coffee. Also the hotel can hel to arrange a good massage for the family at your apartment. Overall we have a wonderful stay. Travelers needed some quiet

After 3 weeks of travel in Vietnam, staying in hotels, we checked into this \"Serviced Apartment\" for 5 days. It was so great to have a whole apartment with separate bedroom, kitchen,living area and laundry and a swimming pool for some R& R. Our unit overlooked the American Consulate, so we had a green view and quiet.

The Somerset is in the embassy area of District 1, so it's quiet by Saigon standards.

Highly recommend this place for $100 per night, including tax, if you want some space and quiet.
