I know it's a budget hotel, but when your rooms are more expensive than the local Travelodge I was expecting them to be on-par or exceeding the quality of the local Travelodge. The TV was laughable, the coffee was laughable, the \"complimentary toiletries\" were non-existent. The breakfast was lackluster, especially considering the professional kitchen at their disposal. Ignore any negative reviews. If you're paying this price, it's fair to expect a few compromises. But a comfortable night's sleep and a filling breakfast was very welcome. The staff are friendly and the curry for dinner was just what the doctor ordered.

Central location, we managed to find the last parking space. Our room wasn’t the best in terms of size or style, with water ingress in the walls around electrical points. The basin tap was also worryingly loose. The decoration to the common areas and carpet on the site could do with renewing. Good choices at breakfast. The stay was good value overall.

A short stay at the courthouse

Great staff, nice and friendly, room was generally clean and tidy
Food was excellent
Down side walls are so thin I was kept awake by with people snoring, coming and going or going to the toilet
Black mold in the shower so could do with refreshing in the grouting.
Also even thou I had the do not disturb sign in the door they knocked and wanted to clean 😞

As a short hop stay for 2 days it was ok

check in was easy - there are some steep steps up to the rooms to bear in mind.
All the usual was available, tea, coffee, water, hairdryer, towels etc etc
The bathroom needs a bit of TLC. The shower pressure wasn't brilliant.
This is great for a one night stay, and close enough if you are visiting clarksons pub

The room was very basic and there was hardly any hot water running from the shower. The curtains didn’t fully close so a lot of light was let in and the windows weren’t double glazed and the room was next to a busy road, so we did not get a good sleep that night.
The bed was also small and well used and not at all comfortable. Would not recommend staying here.

Our hotel room was right off the back patio with 2 double beds and the bathroom was full of black mold and uninhabitable. We requested another room but none were available, so we requested a refund and found another hotel at the last minute. Still waiting on the refund but we found another hotel to stay at that was great.

Meet up with family. Although hotel is a bit dated the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit tight for space as the bed was 4 poster and super king size but It was also very comfy. The breakfast was good.

The towels were threadbare and stained. The shower was very mouldy. No iron or hair drier (i disnt ask for one i confess). Still slept well and ple ty of parking

For the money this was lovely. The breakfast was lovely and the restaurant provided delicious asian food in the evening. the staff were all really lovely. The room we had was the suite. It was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom needed an update on decoration and the jucuzi was not working. It was enormous. plenty of room for two. We were stay there again. We would like to see fire doors added throughout as this would bring more peace of mind. It is an easy walk into Witney. The reception area is cosy and welcoming.

Very quick check in, not even an explanation about breakfast. Data protection a slight issue with one form for all guests to add details!
Room was off the courtyard, seems like a converted cellar or storeroom from the the old inn, I love quirky so not a problem but the room smelt musty, the decor was untidy and the bathroom needed refurbishing. Not even a shelf to put our toiletries on. However everything was clean. Our towels were changed after only one use and no separate bin for recycling so not very environmentally friendly. Car park limited. Room above us was noisy, not sure if it was staff or another guest but we could hear everything, even at 5am when they were getting up both mornings!! Staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was basic but ok.

The property is very run down, there was no mattress cover and the bottom sheet was not fitted. The towels were thin and old and the bathroom had black molds and had a bad smell of damp. The attached restaurant served good food and staff were pleasant. Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel

Warm welcome to the hotel. Parking is tight but there. Rooms are a little tired but they are clean. Food is amazing and after a long day of eating just a bag of crisps was a very great experience.. Nepalese and Indian is my favourite!
Definitely stay again. Cant go wrong for the price.

The Old Court Hotel was adequate for a 1 night stay. The decoration in the room was not not great. The main light in the bathroom didn't work, just a wall light and the toilet seat was loose.
The car park is very small so parking a big car would be an issue.
The Gurka restaurant was good for my evening meal. I didn't have the breakfast as I had to leave before it was available.

The Old Court Stay

The Old Court in Witney was ideal for us, and we will return to stay there when we`re in the area in future.
the food was excellent, and although a bit small, the room had everything we needed. The Bed however was a little too soft for our liking, which was the only negative, but as we weren`t staying there for a week, not too much of an inconvenience.
The Staff were all very polite and helpful, which is all we ask anywhere.

The bathroom has seen much better days and needed a deep deep scrub with a scrub daddy. The bed felt like it had spit into two pieces and the sheets smelt like they had been on there unused for a week or so. The pictures of the rooms really oversell the hotel.

The condition of the property is very especially the cleanliness. we tried two rooms but were only able to stay one night because mould was very evident in the rooms.
Particularly in the bathrooms and on the window frames which had an effect on my wife's asthma. Photos taken and will report to Expedia - no refund given for the night we did not stay - being taken up with Expedia

I checked in and had a heavy bag, no help was offered from the staff.

The room was dusty so not good for someone like me who’s asthmatic.

Went for dinner, it was very salty so I asked for it to be dilute from salt. Its tasted the same ( very salty ) the second time round.
I packed it in take away box to get second opinion from my friends. He too, find it very salty.

There was only 1 shower gel, 1 shampoo in the room. I booked for 2 people.
I went and asked for more shampoo and shower gel, the staff made rude comments of how many time I should/ shouldn’t have a shower, so I said don’t bother, I will go and buy some from a shop.
He then reluctantly gave me 1 more of each.

Won’t be back.

It is a very unique period property. Parking was tight in the courtyard and difficult access in & out since it is on a busy roundabout. Expect to be beeped at trying to get in and out at peak times! We stayed in the suite which has a four poster bed, chaise longue, built in jacuzzi bath, free standing wardrobe, toliet, sink, etc. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. If you like a sanitised hotel room with ample parking, this is not the place for you. If you like somewhere quirky where you need to become friends with the room and learn its idiosyncrasies, you will have a great stay.

It's a dump - the rooms badly need upgrading. The mattess was grubby, and the toilet made noises after use for several minutes. The windows are not double glazed so the rooms are very noisy and the curtains do not block out adequate light.

I would avoid having to stay here again.

Good location at one end of Witney and a short walk into the main street.

It had a lovely ambience in very characterful surroundings.
Received a very warm welcome from the owners/staff and very much enjoyed our evening meal (excellent curry). It was just what we needed at the end of a very long and tiring day. Had the full English Breakfast the next day which was very filling :) not sure how we managed it after the meal the night before (but hey! we were on holiday)
Would love to go there again.
Not the fault of the proprietor but a resident's car alarm went off in the middle of the night which spoiled a good night's sleep.

In easy walking distance from the town centre, secure, comfortable and clean accomodation, wholesome reasonably priced meals. Helpful and friendly management and staff. Its an old property. Many will find this aspect charming, as I did.
