My husband and I have been coming to the Seahorse for quite a while. It is one our favorite places to stay. Our room was well appointed, clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff has always been kind and helpful. The location across from Jeanette’s pier, the beach, Sam and Omie’s, ice cream and Calhoun’s makes walking distance very convenient.

It's across the street from \"Jeannette's Pier\" and a beautiful beach. Also next to a great restaurant next door, named, \"Sam & Omies\" a great breakfast! They had a good group of quite guests. We slept like babies with the fresh breeze in our cabin😁

This was a charming place to stay. Nothing fancy but had the basics amenities. Room was spacious and clean. I had a corner room right by the street amd didnt hear tje traffic. Check in and check out was easy. This is also one of the few places that I was able to bring my cats as they travel with me. I would definitely stay here again.

Kind and courteous staff. And the location is right across from the pier. Perfect location and the rooms/ hotel looks to be upgrading everything. I.e of the feature of their the door locks, with keypads, no hassle having to worry about a key card.

There isn’t much sound-proofing between the rooms. The shampoo container in the shower was empty and there was mysterious blue stuff all over the shower curtain and wall. But it’s a great location and a good value for what you pay.

One of the worst places we have stayed in in the past 10 years. Extremely Musty smelling. I have asthma but it's not healthy for anyone to breathe this air quality of air. Black Mold was seen in the bathroom. All wall bathing fluids empty and a pain to get refilled so only got hand soap filled after having to go to front desk. Coffee pot only worked if you stood there holding down the lid for 10 minutes. Will NEVER stay at this place again.

Our toilet didn’t work the first night and they took a while to move rooms. The staff wasn’t very helpful. We were trying to move rooms because they took the entire toilet off and put it in the shower. We thought that was enough to move us to a different room right away but it took a while for staff to do so. We have stayed here before and always have had good experiences but this time wasn’t very good.

So much convenience! The market across the street has everything you need! From food too fishing and more. If they don't have it, you didn't need it. Jennette's Pier across the street, Sams and Omie's next door and Fatboyz Ice cream next door as well. Short drive to a must try food spot Fish heads! Location can't get about better. The water view we had in the classic room with a 180 view. So relaxing to wake up to. The staff here were very accommodating. Would stay here again!!

This is not the worst place I’ve ever stayed. And it wouldn’t have been that bad if I’d only been there two nights. It wasn’t even necessarily dirty, but, there was no closet. There was no place to hang anything up. The bathroom had a great big mirror and plenty of light, but the vanity was in the bedroom and the mirror around the vanity did not have good life made it very difficult to do things like putting in contacts and I’ll make up. There’s no towel rack by the vanity so there’s no place to put a hand towel. The room was never cleaned the four nights we were there. You have to walk down to the office to get towels and they’re left out in a cabinet. You check in with the kiosk. I did locate an employee at 10:30 one night because the fire alarm in our room kept going off. He did come down and change the batteries. The area around the building is on site with a broken air conditioner sitting out. Houses are all over the sidewalk so you can wash your feet off, but there are safety hazard the way they’re laid out.
It is a convenient location with a small grocery store across the street and a great place to eat breakfast next-door. It’s easy to walk to the beach or go to the pier with a little bit more attention to service. It could actually be a good value.

This is a great location to Jeanettes pier. But the cottages could do with a few minor upgrades to make the stay so much better
The kitchens could do open concept for their cupboards because every time you open the dish cupboards in the cottage kitchenettes it smells so musty. If the dishes were on above counter open concept shelving it would get more airflow.
The hide a bed mattresses could do with replacing. They were uncomfortable. But the regular beds are very comfortable.
Like i said great place but in need of a few minor upgrades.
The staff was excellent! Location excellent for my needs!

The room was filthy. The door to the room had a hole at the bottom right where insects can easily go in. The owner of the motel said to use a towel. Room was very dirty including the bed. I reserved a king size room and was given a 2 double bed room. I asked for another room and was told none was available. I asked for a refund and I was told no refund. I gave the owner the and left.

The location of this property is fantastic! The condition has much to be desired. Housekeeping doesn’t come during your stay. If you need garbage taken out you can ask with 24 hour notice but that didn’t even occur for us- it was the day after that. Staff are there during certain hours and you can serve yourself to additional towels, TP which is fine but I felt like the place was grimy. I realize that being next to the beach and the high humidity doesn’t help but the sand sticks to everything. You’re constantly sweeping and with no rugs there’s no where to actually get control of it so it ends up in bed. Large hairballs in closet. Stains on shower curtain.

Surfaces were sticky. Dust buildup in all corners. Kitchen lacked an adequate trash can. Pictures of property showed a table with chairs but we didn’t have a table or chairs. We had a counter with too few barstools for who we registered in the cottage. No surfaces to put a suitcase or anything on really. Not enough places to hang towels which stinks when housekeeping only comes after the stay. No plug in next to sink/mirror. If your styling tools have a long enough cord you can plug in bathroom and wind around the door.

The cabin was a perfect place to go to sleep after staying out all day on the beach. Close to Fat Boys for ice cream and some of our favorite restaurants. Although advertised as “soundproof walls” our experience was otherwise, could definitely hear our neighbors very clearly through the walls. No complaints, would stay there again with my wife on another long weekend on the Outer Banks!!

Dirty... Mold on walls, dried contact lens on the nightstand, as well as stains, property clearly had not been cleaned. Outside the hotel there was trash and debris. It felt so unsanitary, we ended up checking out about 45 minutes later and getting another hotel room.

It’s a great location. We love the area. The facility could use some work. There was trash in the stairwell that was there when we arrived and still there 5 days later when we left. The porch had old nail clippers that were there when we arrived and never got tossed. Our room was OK. The floor was dirty upon arrival. We just never took our shoes off inside. The shower is really tiny. If you weigh 200+ lbs, you will probably want to look in the shower before you actually stay. I’m 5’9” 150 and I had a very hard time. Management is good. No problem there.

Our check-in experience was terrible. It was with a virtual agent at a kiosk who couldn’t understand anything we were saying. She asked for information that had already been provided prior to our arrival, including a credit card number and driver's license picture. She was very lackadaisical and had no energy--never smiled or said anything welcoming. There was no staff on site for the entire stay. During the online check-in prior to our arrival, we were asked if we wanted daily cleaning of the room for free, so we checked yes, and it came back \"denied.\" So why even ask if it's not available? The room was very small, and the shower and tub were in the main part of the room, not the actual bathroom. There was also a large hole under the door that needed to be sealed. The hotel is way across the street from the actual beachfront. There are signs saying to not track sand into the room but nowhere to wash off your feet. The one positive thing is the hotel is located close to a lot of restaurants and attractions, and there's a nice walking/bike path on the road.

Rooms were comfortable. We had one king bed. Having a dehumidifier in the room was good after the really bad storm where everything we had on the beach got drenched. I didn't like the kiosk check in and check out, but it worked fine. Very convenient area for the event I attended at the pier.

Roaches. Yep, that’s what you want at these prices. Sitting in our room a roach runs out from under the fridge. (See photo) there were other bugs as well. The ceiling was dirty and you can tell the bare minimum is put into maintaining the rooms.

Also the room was slightly damp including the linens. I was wondering why there was a dehumidifier now I now. After I took a 5 minute shower with the fan on, there was visible condensation on the tables.

The bed was what you expect, below average but thankfully clean.

The entire place needs renovation. We had a dead cockroach in the floor, very weird bathtub access, look like the tub had been used to store paint. Rubber on the bottom of the room door is shredded and the safety strips on the stairs were loose and trip hazards.

No one came and got our dirty towels or picled up trash we were told to put outside by the door. No one checked in to make sure everything was going good or to see if anything was needed. Just gave the key card and told me the room number. Not friendly or inviting. The one good thing was the Cahoons store across the street.

One of the cheaper options in the OBX and nice location. Check in and check out were easy. The a/c worked great. Oddly, the towel folded for display had a stain right in the center. Wiped up some blood in the kitchen area. The top of the lampshade by the bed had a lot of dead bugs. The bottom of the shower curtain was moldy. The crown molding in the bathroom is hanging off.

Stayed in the handicap room with windows on 3 sides. Liked the four safety grab bars in the bathroom, hair dryer, ample quality clean towels, easy step-in shower. Beds were comfortable, clean quality linens. Kitchenette was clean, had stove, double sink, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, dishes, counter with bar stools. AC worked properly but was a bit noisy though it helped to drowned out the road noise due to room on end of building next to road. Parking next to room and handicap ramp is convenient. Front desk employee very helpful. Would stay here again.
