Absolutely enjoyed the access to the beach and the staff were very attentive.
There were a few large issues though. The tub would not drain leaving mid shin deep water while trying to shower. There were two large stinging caterpillars one in the towels the other on the wall. The AC window unit would not stay running keeping the room temperature very hot. After calling twice to verify they had a coffee pot that took pods upon arrival it was filter and grounds however the staff was able to find one in storage. The parking lot was very small and congested. Other tenants had barking dogs all throughout the night and blaring tvs until early morning hours.

Old motel with very tight parking. Staff was friendly! Room was old but very clean! AC unit smelled like a wet dog when it went on but eventually the odor disappeared. Walked up a few stairs for a very nice view of the beach! For an overnight stay it was cheap and the king size bed was comfortable! It was a perfect stop for the night since it was quiet!

The room reeked of some type of heavy air refresher that burned my nose-we tried opening doors and turning on the ac but it was horrible hence we didn’t stay for the time that I had the room rented. No ocean view but quick beach access wirh minimal steps. Room 117 SHOWER WAS ADVENTURE OF SURVIVAL, nozel was like garden hose mist but little stronger, 5 minutes to figure out how to regulate temp then quick shower before it went cold, turning it off was like breaking into an old timey safe in a movie. Mattress really soft you'd sink between the edge and hump in middle. No coffee pot only Kcup with broken latch you have to hold down to brew one. No hair dryer. No fan in bathroom. Small refrigerater, gas stove is manual light ouch. Very poor lighting. A/C worked great. Parking with an ext cab 6ft bed truck extremely tight must back out all the way to street and cars cant even turn around in there. For a cheap place to sleep its ok it is clean!

I cried

I truly wanted to love this place.Where to begin? First, I paid for one king bed WITH an ocean view- I got two beds a view of the building behind us and a view of the people smoking and drinking at the pool. The more comfortable bed was in the room where the t.v. placement made sense but, with no a.c. I was too tired to attempt getting the room I paid for, i was just going to suck it up because the beach wasnt all that far away....beach access was blocked by larger pickups and broken pavement. This place wasnt actually clean, its not the Ramada or Travelodge or Holiday Inn so you do lower your expectations a little buuuttt...the noise, the cigarette, pot and whatever else they were smoking smell crept into the room. You do have to wash your dishes before you leave or you are charged 15.00- they do supply the soap, but its not Dawn or Palmolive or anyhting that actually cuts grease and cleans. We emptied the dehumidifier 5 times in the two days we were there. You can feel a hole under the flooring near the bathroom. The absolute worst part was the roaches, I cried. The shower was nice though.

Great location but the room smelled like a perfume factory and had no windows that could be opened. The smell got less noticeable but still lingered. The furniture was in disrepair with tears in the covering. The pool was nice.

The staff is very friendly, you get clean towels delivered to your room each morning. Private entrance for everyone, the pool was a nice size with plenty of seating, clean and well maintained. The rooms are clean, laid out well and spacious. No real complaints! The property could use an updating paint wise outside and the bathroom could use a remodel but all in all we enjoyed our stay!

This is a very old hotel right next to the beach, our room was clean and comfortable however if you are barefoot you will feel sand on the floor. Parking was difficult when you leave because of the way it was done. Easy drive to the outer banks to see the Wright Brothers area. Good restaurants in the area.

The only good part about our stay was the room was very clean, the pine-sol was a bit over powering. Beds are NOT large, they are normal size and the shower was way too small. If you have a big vehicle the parking lot is not for you. And there was a language barrier when asking staff for help.

It looks old given the name \"colonial\" Inn. Easy access from roads. Free parking right next to your room. Atlantic Ocean is right behind the property. So it was easier to walk to the beach. Person incharge checking in was polite and friendly. Summer here is very crowded but it was a peaceful room to rest and sleep. Price was much reasonable than other fancy options in the area.

Overall great stay! The only things we found not good about our stay was there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and as a result mold was on the ceiling above the shower. The other was there was no central air which is ok but the air conditioner in the living area gave off an odd odor like it has not been run in a while.

This hotel worked fine for our family of 5, the room was a good size, and beds were comfortable. The property is quite old and a bit run down, however it actually was very clean. The pool area was very nice, and great beach access! Our room was very clean, some things were updated like the floors and sink. It was very easy to request clean towels, toilet paper, etc. It is a good option for those on a budget wanting to stay right on the beach. Staff we encountered were friendly.

The pictures they show on Expedia for the rooms are false advertisement. They’re the most unappealing, inhospitable, dingy rooms you can imagine. And they all stink. There’s a no smoking sign inside the room, but it definitely reeked of cigarettes. Oh and there’s a dead cockroach on the floor of my bathroom when we first walked in. Parking is also god awful.

It'll do and right on the beach. The windows needs to actually have locks though. My room, 112, did not have lockable bathroom/bedroom windows and it's on the ground floor. Despite the windows being in the locked position they were still easily able to be slid open.

Loved our stay here but there were a few problems. Our power went out at least 3 times a day. Once it went out while we were in bed and everything in the freezer thawed so we lost our groceries we had just purchased and the oven did not work. The kitchen is a little outdated. The place is very clean and kind of charming. We plan on booking again for next summer. You can’t beat the price considering it’s right on the beach.

The location is great, right next to the Nags Head Pier, and close walking distance to local dining spots. Being right on the beach was a great plus. The rooms are clean and they have plenty of room. However, the beds weren’t the best, and I had an achy back most of the trip because of it. The A/C was working great, but was very loud.

Overall, it’s a great value spot, and the location is perfect. Maybe bring a mattress pad if they haven’t swapped out the beds. Never used the pool as we stayed on the beach our whole stay, but it looked clean and nice.

I recently stayed at this motel, and overall, my experience was excellent. The room was spacious and clean, including the bathroom, and I appreciated the easy access to the beach just a short walk away. However, parking was a bit tight, which made things slightly inconvenient.

One disappointment was that although I specifically booked a room advertised as “sea-facing,” the room we received did not have any view of the sea. I had hoped to relax and enjoy the view from the room, so this was frustrating. Beach was just a few steps away from the motel and provided the relaxation I was looking for.

In the end, despite the view issue, the cleanliness and comfort of the room, along with the unbeatable location right by the beach, made for an excellent stay.

First impression was not so great. The place is a little older than the pictures show. The virtual assistant kiosk check-in is also a little weird. We got our keys and decided to check out the room before we took our bags in. The room was old decor and in need of some major improvements; however, it was very clean. The bathroom has a retro black and white tile look. The ocean view isn't really a view as you can only see the sand dune at the back of the building. However, there is a deck and easy beach access from the ocean-view room. This is a 'you get what you pay for' room. Our room was clean and comfortable and location was great for us. If you want modern and up-to-date, pay more and go somewhere else.

My husband and I stayed there for 12 days and on day two our oven caught on fire and then day three caught on fire again when we weren’t even using it and was pouring propane out of it gas oven that they have in a 300 square-foot room. My child was extremely unsafe and apparently a woman called me and spoke to me and told me that she was going to help us move rooms and no one from the hotel ever contacted us again the entire stay. None of you were concerned with our safety when we paid you $1700 including a pet fee for your extremely nasty unsafe disgusting hotel. We will never stay there again, and we will never recommend it and we will only talk bad about your hotel!
