Good accommodation with a stunning view of the monastery. Free parking outside. Disappointing that the room did not include a washer/dryer as stated in the description. Very misleading the way it was written as it did not say it was an optional charge of €20 and was carried out by the hotel. The person on reception was rather rude regarding this even when shown the description that suggests it’s in the room.

It was a last minute decision to visit Meteora after our trip to Santorini got cancelled due to earthquakes.

We read about this place which provided us with a beautiful view of the rocks and the monasteries and decided to book it. It was a very pleasant and comfortable stay right in front of the rocks and the owners were quite helpful. The room is comfortable and quiet. It is steps away from the footpath which leads directly to the monastery of “Holy Trinity”. Note that it is about a 45 minute hike with a steep elevation gain. Your other option is to drive right up to the foot of the monastery.

The breakfast was also good with a spread of cold cuts, cheese, eggs, fresh juice, and a variety of bakery products and cereals. If you are pressed for time like us, this is a great option instead of eating in the city which will add another 30 minutes.

Overall, a wonderful experience.

Comfortable and relax stay in Kalabaka!

My family and I had a lovely stay in Kalabaka. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of Meteora. The bed was comfortable. We arrived in the hotel slightly earlier than the check-in time and was able to check-in right away, the receptionist kindly stored our luggages for us after checking out too. Totally recommend staying here! 10 out of 10!

Fantastic location almost at top of the town very clise to trailhead for Holy Trinity monastery. Walk down to town squares is maybe 10 minutes. A 9 euro Breakfast was ok with plentiful selections to fill ip before a day of climbing thousands of steps and walking paths to monasteries. Coffee could definitely be stronger.
Rooms are beautifully appointed snd decorated. Cheerful and welcoming family runs this little gem.

A 10 minute walk to the the town square where you can get to tons of restaurants, coffee, shops. A 10 minute walk in the opposite direction to get to the hike that leads you to the monastery. Great hotel, but lots of loud children

The hotel and staff are great, but the hotel was much too noisy for us. Lots of screaming and yelling kids until fairly late at night. If we would have known, we would have booked somewhere else. If you are traveling with kids, this is a great place. There is even a playground adjacent to the hotel. If you want some peace and quiet, don’t stay at the hotel next to the playground…

A wonderful hotel at the bottom of Meteora. The rooms were very well laid out and spacious. The area is in a quiet neighbourhood in Kalabata, and is walking distance to the town centre for restaurants and bars. It is also near many walking trails in Meteora, with the Monastery of the Holy Trinity a 30 minute hike away. The hotel was also terrific value for money given that you are at one of the busiest tourist spots at a UNESCO world heritage site. I will definitely come back and stay there again.

What an incredible view from our window! Seeing Meteora was one of our priorities on our trip to Greece, and Alsos House provided us a convenient and exceptionally scenic location to start that visit. Our only misfortune was that we actually had access to another room--a bedroom that we were unaware of for the first night. Just happened to discover it after spending the first night on a couch. Staff was very accommodating, and provided us laundry service.

First impression was this was an amazing place! The exterior of the house and the surrounding outside views are picturesque. The interior of the rooms seems a bit dated but overall nice. The only issue we had with the rooms (other than the BIG problem mentioned below) is the flooring in the room is freezing. Since we had a party of 4 the gentlemen running the place offered us a larger room and we were so excited to stay, even if it was for just one night. That unfortunately is where the euphoria of finding this charming site completely wore off.

The room had a strange odor when we first started unpacking. When we returned from our visit to Meteora and laid down in bed, the smell got worse. After checking around the bed and not finding where the smell was coming from, I flipped onto my stomach and realized I was laying on top of cat urine!! Somehow one of the stray cats had gotten into the room and peed on the bed. When I approached who I am assuming was the gentlemen's wife about this she immediately tried to pin the urine on my family by insinuating I had left a door or window open and let the cat in. Her English was a bit broken and I don't speak a lick of Greek, so she called the gentleman, he also went right to me allowing the cat to enter. He did profusely apologize and get us another room. Unfortunately that wasn't our only issue.

They claim to have laundry service, and they did wash my clothes but there was a big catch. When I approached

I am soo glad I chose to stay at Alsos House during my trip to Meteora! Not only is the location BREATHTAKING to say the least, the rooms are beautiful, clean, and comfortable; I cannot believe the price for how awesome this place is! The manager is very helpful and friendly and there is ample free parking which is always a relief!

It only takes about 10 minutes to drive up to see the beautiful monasteries and rock formations of Meteora, and there are several shops and restaurants within walking distance (about a 10 minute walk through the amazingly unique, old-timey neighborhood). You will not regret your stay here... I promise you that! :)

I had very carefully researched where I wanted to stay, which is why I choses Alsos House. However, I was quite disappointed when we arrived and after much consideration, the man at reception moved us next door to \"Elena's Guesthouse\". If that is where I wanted to stay, I would have booked that. I chose the rooms at Alsos House because of the brightness and cleanliness of the rooms, and the balcony with the view. Instead, we were put next door in a VERY dark room, that had an unpleasant odor (dog maybe?) and had a balcony that faced the walls of other, very close, buildings.
As he was trying to decide what room to give us, he said, \"I see you booked on Expedia.\" I believe that he put us in this room because we had gotten a deal on the room, and so he gave us something lesser value. However, I expect to being given what I have booked and paid for.
That being said, we did sleep quietly and comfortably.

One of the staff even helped paying half of the cost of the taxi since we didn’t carry enough cash when we first arrived.
The breakfast is very reasonable and the water in both pools a little cold in my opinion but the older kids enjoyed.

Bed was a little firm to our liking and the WiFi was a bit finicky. However, the location, the view, the service (they stayed up for us to let us in past the front desk hours when our flight came in a day late and later in the evening) and the breakfast were exceptional. I would definitely book here again!

Great room with a beautifully renovated batroom with plenty of hot water. Located in the shadows of the monolithic rocks. Alsos Place is only a few blocks from trails and historical sites. The morning breakfast was also excellent.
