This hotel is huge! Set up for large tour groups and run efficiently for that but it’s good to be aware in advance as an individual traveler gets a bit lost.
The rooms are nice and beds comfortable. The pool area with the bar is great. Nice breakfast too.
The major drawback of this place is that it’s far from the village and its many dining options.

The hotel Amalia was amazing. The staff was excellent, as the room was as well. Breakfast was also excellent. The grounds and pool area were very clean, well kept, with excellent staff. We would definitely return. My only recommendation is the hallways could use a makeover. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel. We were treated like royalty at the Amalia.

We came during the Daniel storm. We could see very little of the monasteries (the purpose of our visit). However, the experience at the hotel was perfect. Very nice and helpful stuff. Great choices for buffet dinner and breakfast (half board). Nice swimming pool (we could not enjoy due to poor weather). Easy parking. Great room. All looks very clean.

This is a big property and caters for groups however do not be discouraged the busses come and go quickest and you won’t have a problem
Parking and accessibility to the monasteries is the best of all the hotels

The swimming pool is great. The room and bathroom are huge and very, very clean. The hotel is a short drive away from the monasteries. Breakfast is good but, as far as I'm concerned, not good enough for a 4 star hotel. I would go back there and I would recommend the hotel to friends.

Check in went well for the most part. They gave us a room the first time that was not big enough and didn't match our reservation. They did upgrade us to a family room because the room type we booked were all taken. Other then that things went fairly well. The elevator they have is small and slow so we just took our bags up the stairs to the third floor. We only had carryon bags.

Nice hotel 8 min drive from the town. Good size room. Beautiful pool. Very friendly staff. Good water pressure. I asked for a quiet room. They gave me a choice of rooms and I chose the top (3rd) floor. Unfortunately there were a group of kids staying on the first floor. Sound proofing is not good in the hotel and I could hear the kids partying until late. I called the front desk and they took care of the issue as best as they could. I would stay again for sure, but always ask for a quiet room. They will guide you to the best option.

No question - I’d definitely stay here again.

I loved this hotel. Extremely affordable, clean, the place was well taken care of and staff were exceptionally friendly. There is no escaping the “tourism” anywhere near Meteora so no matter where you stay, everyone is coming for a day or two to hit the Monasteries. That being said, this was a mile or so away from the center and had a refreshingly “remote” feel to it. A gorgeous big pool, tasty buffets for breakfast and dinner. Relaxed and unhurried and beautiful things in the gift shop. It was hard to leave this place.

Room and bathroom were excellent and we liked the view of the trees from the balcony. The location is isolated, if you have no car then it will be very difficult to stay here. Breakfast had a wide selection but the quality ordinary - possibly because it was low season and very few guests. Staff were great and very helpful.

Of the 3 Amalia hotels we stayed at... this was better than Olympia, but worse that Nafplio. They clearly only cater to large bus tours, and make no accommodation for individuals or small groups. We were actually told not to go to breakfast until after 9am... and sure enough, they had every single table reserved for tour groups. I had to have a little discussion with one of the employees for him to open up one of the tables. Rooms were also a bit disappointing. Wouldn't go back to this one unless every other place was sold out.

The hotel was really nice, especially the pool. The proximity to the monasteries at Meteora was great (a quick drive to the top). What was even better for our young family was a very nice pool to relax in after a hot day of walking. Our 9 month old son had a great time, and we enjoyed a few beers poolside. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel is one of the best in the area yet could use updating and the beds could be more comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The pool was nice but a bit chilly.
The breakfast was decent and had a good selection. Its not gourmet by any means but a good breakfast.
The check in and check out went smoothly despite their antiquated computer system.
If you want to go into the town you need a car or other transportation as it is not a close walk and the town is nice to walk around and good eateries.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Amalia and would highly recommend it. The staff are friendly and very helpful from check-in, to the wait staff at breakfast and right through the whole stay. Quiet Hotel in Kalambaka

I traveled solo to Meteora and chose Amalia Hotel knowing its located at the edge of city limits. However, I was drawn to its offer of a quiet and clean atmosphere. The fact that the Hotel is located a little ways outside of the city center did turn out to be a bit inconvenient and costly (10 euro taxi each way) if you want to wander yourself but if you are going to book tours daily, then it doesn't matter much.

Pro: Quiet, large hotel that offers a good spread for its free breakfast and food made to order other times. The pool area was nice and the hotel surroundings was very peaceful. The staff was very attentive, friendly and will help with pretty much any request you may have. The rooms are large and clean. Wifi is available and strong in the main common areas.

Con: The hotel is about a 5-7 min drive outside the main part of Kalambaka city. The hotel doesn't offer any transportation to and from the city center so there are really just two options: by taxi (10 euro) or by bus (1.80 euro). The bus, however, drops you off on the main road, so it's another 5-7min walk down the side road to get to the hotel. There are no sidewalks but there aren't many cars either, so it's OK to walk as an adult but not for kids. Another way to get around this is to book a tour, which usu. offers to pick you up and drop off in the city or back at the hotel. The room amenities are bare bones, so bring your own coffee/tea. Hot water can be requested. Wifi is pretty weak in the ro

If you don't drive, you need to arrange taxi in advance. However, this could be a good thing as the hotel is more quite and safe.

The hotel is of good standard although a bit dated. It is not too close to the meteors but it is still accessible however apart from the main road there is little to nothing around the hotel. The hotel pool and staff were lovely. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. It would seem that the hotel is designed to host large groups so it lacked the intimate feel we prefer when we travel as a couple. It was also too far from town for us to comfortably walk to dinner. Since we had a rental car it was fine for us, but travelers should be aware the hotel is outside the fringes of Kalambaka. It's not in the center of town as the description suggests.

SACRED PLACE WITH BEAUTIFUL HOTEL

We arrived in the Meteora area of Greece which is breath-taking in itself. The hotel facility came up suddenly and we made a sharp turn to enter, there were entrance signs well in advance but to enter the facility it is quite a sudden turn. Parking was close and plentiful. The hotel itself is exquisite in a quiet beautiful setting. Staff was very solicitous and polite. Our room was beutiful and had complimentary fruit and wine from the manager. The room is clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful as was dinner the night before. We paid a nominal fee for dinner but breakfast was included in the cost of the hotel. The hostess at the front desk booked our tour to the monasteries of Meteora, a half-day trip that was well worth the cost. Excellent guides and also a tour of the Theopetra caves. Not to be missed.The hotel allowed us to check out late because of the half day tour. The property is beautifully landscaped and has a seasonal pool. Snack bar inside and full bar available.Furnishings thruout the hotel echo the sacredness of the monastery area, icons and ancient statuary. Another beautiful Amalia property, so peaceful and serene.

Nice vintage hotel, conveniently situated between Trikala and Kalambaka. Very friendly helpful staff. Rooms are a bit outdated, but clean and have good airco. Also very calm silent environment. One small negative point concerning the restaurant: every evening the exact same buffet choice is given. This might be OK for a one night stay, however some variations could be considered for those guests staying multiple nights.

Nice place, pool is good for both children and adults, 5km from center of Kalambaka, so no noise, but need car to go in the center. Can be used as central point for daily trips to a vaste area of Greece, we did visit Delphi, Meteora, Vergina (tombs of Alexander's the great father and son), but also Ioannina

Voici un hotel et son personnel au top....vraiement !!!! Accueil chaleureux chambre parfaite pisicine olympique au calme....mon coup de coeur le personnel mais quelle gentillesse...merci et merci

Vaste hôtel, accueil correct. Chambre très propre et bien équipée. Buffet du soir, très bon pour 15€ seulement. Le buffet petit déjeuner au top également. Très bon rapport qualité prix.

Καθημερινή καθαριότητα, ευγενικό προσωπικό, όμορφοι κοινόχρηστοι χώροι για να πιεις έναν καφέ ή ποτό, τα βράδια με συνοδεία πιάνου στο σαλόνι. Άνετο μεγάλο δωμάτιο. Κάποια στοιχεία του δωματίου χρειάζονται ανακαίνιση.
