Amazing room and views!

Amazing views!!! Size of room was great. Bathroom was huge as well. AC worked very well. Best one we had out of any other places we stayed on our 2 week trip. Would stay here again.

Lovely location

Beautiful host from next door at Alsos House greeted us and made us very welcome. Excellent location, incredible views. Room was small but adequate. Small fridge. Hot shower only at night. Breakfast 9€ next door was nice. Tea/ coffee facilities in common lounge would have been a nice touch for the evening.

The room was pleasant and spacious but a bit tired.
It’s was value for money but about as far from the town centre as you can get. But that only made it a 20 minute walk at best.
It’s not a negative comment as some people love rock hard beds but they are not for me so the two nights sleep were not great.
The main air conditioner wasn’t working but again that had a portable and it appeared to work well but couldn’t get the room temp down again I like about 20.
So not a complaint as such but that’s why I didn’t rate it higher .
Staff were nice and I chose to miss the breakfast so couldn’t comment .

Good choice.

Meteora is an incredible place, and far more special if you can get out early and beat the tour groups, or leave it till late in the afternoon. Elena is a good choice. Sizeable rooms, balcony on the better rooms with wonderful views of nearby hills. Bathrooms are a little damp in feel and bath showers are always a little less practical than standard showers, but all is in good condition. Definitely worth the stay. Breakfast is an optional extra worth doing.

Great Location to Hike the Holy Trinity Monastery

This hotel is clean and easy to walk to from the train station. Not far from good restaurants. But it is an especially good location if you plan to hike up to the Holy Trinity Monastery as the beginning of the trail is just up the street. It's a great hike and can be done in 45 minutes if your are in good shape. I liked that Monastery a lot, even though it is a smaller one. We also had a beautiful sunrise view in the morning.

We reached late (10pm) and had a non-functioning AC in the room. The manager (owner's son) was very nice about this - he gave us the option to either look for another room in a different hotel. Finally, he was able to get us a few fans which made the situation manageable. The place is clean, breakfast is good and the people are amazing. WIll gladly stay again.

Customer service at its best !

Stayed two nights in April 2018. When we checked in the hotels website has indicated a double sofa bed but the owner explained that there was no such thing. She then took the time to show us every available room and let us select the best option for us at no extra charge even though she had to change around her future bookings.
After check in, she sat with us and showed us on a map several recommended restaurants as well as the routes and information on the monastery’s. She also explained about the local market and how that would affect our travels.
Breakfast the next morning was prompt and although basic, was tasty and filling.
Better yet, she gave us access to the dining area for our whole stay because it was cooler and she wanted us to have enough room to be comfortable. She also opened a room next door so we could use the Terrice as it had better views of the mountains!
The room itself was comfortable and the shower exceeded expectations with its jets :)

Pleasant stay near the rocks

Family run guest house at one end of Kalambaka near trailhead to rocks. Stayed in Alsos House (had booked Elena Guesthouse next door through Expedia and we were sent to Alsos instead). Clean and spacious rooms, nice patio to enjoy the view. Staff was warm and helpful. About 5 blocks away from downtown bustle (easy walk down moderate hill). Highly recommend!

Lovely guesthouse with awesome view

I was welcomed by the lovely Elena who showed me straight to my room. She suggested I do a Meteora tour the next day, as I didn't have a car. She even organised for them to pick me up. Breakfast was OK, if a bit pricey at €7.50. It's a bit of a walk from the centre of town but well worth it considering it's so close to the rocks.

Great location at the foot of the meteora mountain

We had a great time at Elena Guest House.The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and the food was delicious. I loved the monograms on the towels. There is a particular attention to details, that will not disappoint you at this place. The owner was extremely helpful with info about the monasteries and visiting times for each of them. She also gave us a few tips about some museums to visit on our way to Thessaloniki.

Helpful staff, Hard to find

Google doesn't have the location correct. Beside Elena's is Alonso and Google has it's location correct. The staff were very helpful and the guesthouse is quite attractive. Getting my laundry done cost 15 Euros, a little pricey I think, it was only 10 on Lefkas island.

Meteora is amazing to visit and the hotel while challenging to find is wonderfully located right below the rock face. The owner was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was plentiful and very good. Meteora is only a 10 minute drive away and the downtown area is only a short walk. I would highly recommend this hotel. One piece of advise is that finding the reception can be confusing, they have a sign pointing left but then nothing. The reception is really a suite on the bottom floor of the hotel. I walked around for a few minutes looking confused and then someone came out and helped me.

great location and service

I had an enjoyable stay in Kalambaka. Elena Guesthouse helped me feel right at home while visiting METEORA. My room had a balcony with a view of the amazing rock spires. It was clean and attractive and a short walk from the center of town. The hostess sent me off each morning with an apple and she made the necessary calls for me when arranging the guided tours I wanted, or a taxi to the train station. I would definitely stay at the Elena Guesthouse should I ever get to return to this unique and beautiful area of Greece.

Looks different from the pictures

The room has kind of \"poor\" design. It's said there is a jacuzzi, when actually there is none. When we arrived, there was no one to talk to change the room. The breakfast was really poor. Only toasts with cakes and cookies. Deffenatly doesn't worth the 5 euro we paid per person. For this money you can get much more at the local restaurants, which are great.

Home away from home

Arriving at Elena Guest House in heavy snow after a 6hr train jounrey we were greeted warmly and shown to our room, a large room on the ground floor with on open fire - perfect for defrosting ourselves! Our room didn't have a view but as we're not ones for spending much time in our room this did not bother us. And considering the thick snowy mist that shrouded the mountains, there wasn't much of a view to look at anyway!

Elena was charming and gave us some great advice on walking in the area and was also an immense help when trying to sort out the bus back to Athens during a 48hr strike. The breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs, bread, cake and preserves and was substantial enough to fill us up for the majority of the day.

Kalambaka is a lovely little town, though only seemed to come alive at the weekends. We would love to visit in higher season and we would not hesitate to stay with Elena again.

Good hotel in superb setting

This hotel satisfied most expectations: nice setting under the meteora rocks, clean rooms, friendly people, good basic breakfast & perfect location on a small town square.

The negative points:

* Although mentioned that there was WiFi available, a cable (that you have to bring yourself) was the only solution.

* A bit weird that we had to pay for the toddlers' breakfast.

* We had to pay to use the jacuzzi, which was not mentioned in the description.

However, a good choice to visit Meteora!

Very nice and unique hotel.
Check in was easy. Just mentioned my name and We where shown straight to the room. No waiting around.
The rooms are personalized. Old style but still very good quality. There was a balcony were we had the view to the main attractions of the city; the mountains with the monasteries on top.
Could easily have stay there for more than one night. It’s in walking distance from the restaurants on the Main Street. (Look for the restaurant that the locals visit like; Ουζερί Ρακαριό)
One thing that is missing is a water kettle. So maybe ask for one when you check in. I only found out it was missing when I wanted to use it 😅 and was leaving soon anyway.

A beautiful place with not any service

The room vas really cosy and comfortable, with amazing views; but there was actually not any service at the guesthouse, not even the daily cleaning. We felt surprised when we found the room as we left it in the morning in our second night, as daily cleaning was among the services listed in our reservation at Hotels.com. The Guesthouse did not give us any explanation when we complained, just \"it is not necessary only for few days\". In our second day some maintenance works started, and the morning we were leaving more serious works started; it really looked like the hotel was closed, I don't know why they were hosting guests.

Es war eon schömes Zimmer in sehr ruhiger und autentischer Lage in dem ursprünglichem Ortskern mit guter Verbindung uum Fussweg zu den Klöstern. Was für und sehr schön war. Da wir zu Fuss unterwegs sein wollten

Hotel unterhalb der Meteora-Klöster

Das Elena Guest House ist absolut zu empfehlen. Es liegt direkt unter den bis 200 m hohen Felswänden, welche nachts angestrahlt werden. Sehr schönes Hotel, sehr schöne Zimmer mit Holz-Balkonen, toller Service, sehr feundliche Leute.

Blijf hier weg

Het begon al vooraf: op diverse mails om info over de kamer, kwam geen antwoord. Bij aankomst was er niemand om ons te ontvangen. Diverse malen geroepen doorheen het gebouw: geen antwoord. Gebeld naar de eigenaar: vaste telefoon ging in de benedenwoning over en werd niet opgenomen, mobiele nummers werkten niet. Na veel gedoe eindelijk de zoon des huizes in de benedenwoning gevonden: deed slaperig de deur open. Wist niet van onze komst. Na zijn moeder te hebben gebeld, gaf hij ons de sleutel, wees de kamer en was weer weg. De volgende dag zouden we hetzelfde bij andere gasten aanschouwen. Wij hadden een superior room met uitzicht op de bergen geboekt. Met veel geluk kon je iets zien, of je moest de bomen omhakken. Weer naar de zoon gegaan. Belde wederom de eigenaresse. We kregen een andere kamer met uitzicht. Iets later kwam de eigenaresse die beweerde ons een upgrade te hebben gegeven. Dit is gewoon een kwestie van misleidende info op de website. En wie laat de zoon van 16 jaar gasten ontvangen? De laatste avond was het beneden in hun benedenwoning zeer luidruchtig: de kinderen krijsten tegen elkaar en gooiden met deuren, de eigenaresse telefooneerde doodleuk ruim een half uur op speaker luidsprekend met andere en manlief kwam thuis met de auto. Hij bleef een tijd in de auto onder ons balkon zitten, met de radio keihard aan. Je kunt beter bij de buren verblijven: Alsos house... Elena maakt sowieso op haar foto`s gebruik van dat guesthouse om dat van haar groter te doen lijken

メテオラの素晴らしい景色が客室から見れます。

オーナーのエレーナさんがとても親切で、無計画の私達に半日ツアーを案内、予約してくれました。修道院を歩いてまわろうなんて無謀でした。ツアーに参加して良かったです。
電車まで時間があったので、ゲストハウスのシェアスペースで休ませてもらってたところ、エレーナさん手作りの出来立てケーキをいただきました。非常に親切な対応、ありがとうございました。

Hotel comodo x arrivare alle meteore, la signora Elena molto gentile e disponibile, parla italiano, unica pecca avendo soggiornato tre notti, quando siamo arrivati in camera la sera ci siamo accorti che il letto non era stato fatto, ma hanno solo tirato le lenzuola.

Calm night at the Meteoras

A very nice guesthouse right at the foot of the Meteoras. The owner of the guesthouse, Elena welcomed us and helped us with maps and useful instructions.The room itself is very comfortable, it was big enough for even 4 people. Since it is at the end of the village, it is silent at night. Breakfast was also plentiful. We will definitely go back again.

Hotellets, eller gjestehusets, rom er meget smakfult innredet med forskjellig stil i hvert rom. Rene rom og god rengjøring, det eneste jeg hadde å utsett på rommet mitt var at det var ganske fuktig der - dette var visst ikke et problem i et rom i etasjen over.
Hotellet ligger plassert med en dramatisk utsikt ved foten av noen av de kakteristiske fjellene som man ser overalt i Meteora, man føler man kan ta på dem fra verandaen. Betjeningen var hjelpsom og velmenende, men snakket lite engelsk.

Det trådløse nettverket fungerte ikke, angivelig fordi det var overskyet.
Da vi reserverte på internett er vi sikre på at prisen var angitt med frokost inkludert, men da vi kom til frokost fikk vi vite at dette ikke var tilfelle. Sjekk av bekreftelses-eposten viste at frokost ikke var inkludert, men vi er fortsatt sikre på at det var det på internett.... Dermed ble dette oppholdet forholdsvis dyrt sammenliknet med andre overnattinger vi hadde. Jeg innbiller meg at dette problemet har mer å gjøre med Hotels.com enn med hotellet, har lest om liknende episoder. Likevel er dette med reservering på internett en meget behagelig løsning, og stort sett ganske pålitelig så vidt jeg har erfart.
