Good if you like constant warfare with mosquitos

The 'cabins' are charming...until you realise the big wooden sliding doors have gaps in them, inviting mosquitos in constantly (on top of the ones already in there) meaning you need to constantly dispatch the flying hooligans all day every day. It's a lovely setting but the rooms/cabins need to be properly sealed with glass sliding doors fitted for this to be a comfortable stay.
The highlight is the location and the lovely staff.

detached unit in beach side resort set in greenery

Costa Lanta is amongst other resorts, but feels like you have your own place amongst the gardens, which are trees, a stream and flowers, with boardwalks making it easy to get around. Being a little back from the beach meant that we were sheltered from winds in this pre-monsoon season. It was very calm and relaxing, and the staff were very helpful but also respectful of privacy. We enjoyed walking into town, trying many different water-side restaurants, and seeing more of the area on boat trips and through hiring a car. The beach didn't have the surf recommended on surf websites, but a great back up turned out to be the resort pool, which was set amongst trees, a 'natural' green color, with crystal clear water.

Very close and conveniently located to the beach

This hotels location was not only located closely to the beach, but to the local market area. Shops for buying great local and cultural items were more than a tourist could expect. Restaurants for cultural and western cuisine were easily accessible, and upheld welcoming staff and great dining experiences.

Beautiful resort, uncomfortable rooms.

The minimalist architecture of this resort is unique and clearly designed with materials that reflect a deep concern for ecology and environment. Unfortunately, it does not work in the bungalows, mainly made of bamboo. The room is uncomfortable, and it feels like we are camping in a wooden tent, the bathroom has an opened ceiling and floor to the outside. It enables mosquitoes to come in

Concrete VS Bamboo

We stayed in the bamboo huts. Although it was quite nice I would request a concrete one instead. It’s worth a little extra. Overall a great place to stay!

Stunning hotel

Fantastic location right on the beach. Beautiful setting.
Stayed in the Bamboo bungalow based on the negative reviews of the concrete ones. Very happy. Lovely room with amazing open air (but private) bathrooms. No issues with hot water or wifi. Mosquitos were terrible but hotel does it’s best to offset those annoying little sh*ts.
The food at the restaurant was a little average but not bad. The breakfast options are limited and not good if you’re vegetarian however they still tasted fine.

Mosquito hotel

We got a bungalow. It had loads of mosquitoes in it. It’s open to the outside. There is a stagnant river that runs through the property that is a breeding ground for mosquitos. They spray the room at 5pm once a night that doesn’t do much to get rid of them. I got bit a lot and for this reason I would not recommend staying here.

pros: beach, pool, rooms

cons: food was not so good, and the roof of the room was concrete but above that was plastic and when things fell off the tree from above, a coconut for example it is very very very loud . waking us up multiple times a night throughout our stay.

i would still recommend this hotel

Nice hotel with a cold personality.

Hotel is very close to the beach on a nice beach stretch, very well maintained facilities with a beautiful garden. The downside of this place and why I did not like it, it was lacking personal touch and warmth. The rooms are individual rooms and I will call it a \"bunk\" think of it as camping with 4 walls rooms have no space to move lacking things like a tea kettle a bottle opener. I felt like I was in prison while in the room. Is a very modern design but it just did not work for me. Please be wary that this hotel only cares about making money.. you can't eat or drink anything by the pool that you don't purchase from them. And the staff kept asking where we were going to arrange taxis and get comission. Also the breakfast was ok.. nothing espectacular but you only get one option and again if you want anything additional you have to pay of course! In summary, nice clean hotel but did not feel like a vacation while I was in the room. However, there is not much time spent in the room and the beach and pool were very nice.

I would totally come back

The staff was very kind and helpful, breakfasts were delicious and the beach was just amazing (long and not crowded). We fell in love with the place. The rooms and bathrooms were clean at all times and the mosquitoes net worked perfectly fine. There is a long pool and sunbeds available for guests. We would totally come back to this hotel. It is highly recommended.

A gem right on the beach

We immediately fell in love with this place! Costa Lanta is a real paradise where to relax and unwind. The beach and the swimming pool areas are stunning, the cabanas are very sleek and modern. Excellent staff.

This is not a practical hotel

Hotel room like a box with 2 heavy sliding doors, once you close the door, there is no light in the room, once you open the door, all the insects get into the room.

2 sliding doors are too heavy and the hotel room is 1 foot high from the ground without stairs, not suitable for old people.

When we stay in the room, there is no TV and we have to stay inside the mosquito net, feel like a prison.

The room is too small and so many hard corners and stairs, very uncomfortable to just walk to the door or go to the bathroom, need to be very careful not to get bruises and not to flow down, it is not a kid friendly room.

The toilet and closet are outdoor, all our clothes are cover by mosquitos.

The breakfast is too simple - egg, toast, yogurt, fry noodle, that's it, any 3 stars hotel would better than this hotel.

It is really not worth THB10,000 per night, we will not go back again.

Beautiful place made me feel relaxed and peaceful.

Beautiful grounds with butterflies and gorgeous plants and decoration. Staff lovely. Peaceful and hardly saw other guests so felt all resort my own place even when almost full. Delicious food. Lovely pool. Views delightful.

I had a very enjoyable stay at costa. The architecture of the place is the real interest here and Def slept like a baby. That being said don't expect anything in terms of amenities. No gym or tv. Also the safe is not big enough for a laptop and seeing as my sunglasses \"diasspeared\" from my room (or maybe I lost them elsewhere but I do remember putting them inside the room!) It would be advisable to leave things in the safe. Otherwise very good place to stay on Ko Lanta!

Garbage and poverty in paradise

The bungalows where open to mosquitos from the outside. Not a good concept, when there is a lot of still water on the property for the mosquitos to breed in. The area surrounding the resort is terrible, the beach is contaminated with plastic and other garbage. No disrespect, but the farms and villages in the area is very poor. There are packs of stray dogs roaming around.

Romantic Sunset Location - rooms not so much...

If you are into glam-camping this is the place for you. The bed mattress is on the floor & is just as hard as the floor. The rooms have a serious mosquito problem. We had to change hotels after the first night as we didn't get any sleep. The air conditioning barely works & the breakfast which is included is very average. On the plus side, it's a romantic place to watch the sunset.

We loved this hotel - it was so peaceful, quiet and absolutely stunning! Perfect place to end our three week honeymoon. The staff was fabulous, the food and drinks were great. The beach and pool area is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are super cool! Very modern, interesting design.... our only comment would be that the beds in some rooms are so large there is really no space for anything else! haha

Absolutely beautiful accommodations. Contemporary/modern bungalows on a well designed campus. Beautiful pool overlooking the beach. Execelant food, a mix of traditional thai and western. Incredibly nice staff. Except horribly buggy.. Be prepared to put on bug spray at night and sleep in a masquito net. Other than the bugs, highly recommended.

Perfect Island Life

We stayed for 6 nights at Costa Lanta towards the end of October. Although out of season and despite a couple of maintenance jobs taking place, the staff and the facilities were fantastic and we did not feel as though up-keep interfered with our relaxation. The resort was blissful, the concept of the cabins enjoyable to stay in and the restaurant food delicious.
Will certainly be returning.

Beautiful accommodation and fantastic staff!

We had a fantastic stay at Costa Lanta. Accommodation is very unique and to a very high standard - we loved our stay in the cabanas! Pool area and restaurant are also very nice. Staff were fantastic and so helpful throughout our entire stay. Beach is very nice and quiet too. The location is a bit away from the action which was perfect for us, but very easy to hire a scooter to get around to busier parts of island. Highly recommended!

Very interesting room setup. Was basically a bungalow in the jungle. Very clean and service was impeccable. Lovely pool and nice quiet, clean beach. Food at the restaurant was delicious. Only downside was that it was quite difficult to get to other places outside of the resort.

Great couples retreat!

We loved Costa Lant and can't wait to go back! Great design, food and very clean! The beach is a lovely place to hang and there are bikes to take out around town. All staff members are helpful and so sweet! Almost all of about meals we're had at the restaurant because they had such a lovely menu. Breakfast was wonderful and such a treat. We really felt relaxed and at home while staying at Costa Lanta. It's a chill place with so much to offer!

Perfect & chill honeymoon bungalows!

We had a wonderful stay at Costa Lanta!

The design and feeling of the resort was just what we were looking for! Modern, clean and full of the aesthetic elements we love. It's not a huge resort and offers the more mellow independent atmosphere that we happen to enjoy. Each room is it's own little bungalow so you have plenty of privacy.

The beach is a perfect place to chill out, swim and take a walk. But, if hanging around the beach day after day isn't your thing, the resort has complimentary bikes.

We had most of our main meals at the hotel. The food was amazing! A couple previous reviews commented on the size of breakfast but I'm not quite sure why. The portions were perfect. It's not buffet style but we actually prefer that and would rather have our food made specifically for us. It is completely appropriate for the restaurant to charge a bit extra for additional orders. We really enjoyed being able to order fresh made food for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout our stay.

All the people who work at Costa Lanta are so helpful, accommodating and friendly. Their manager is from the UK and therefore speaks perfect English (which was nice for us). She was always there to fill us in on whatever info we had a question about.

Overall we had a great time at Costa Lanta and would definitely stay again!

My girlfriend and I ended our Thailand vacation here for 2 days, we thought we would finish off with a nice relaxed few days at the beach after chiang mai, railay beach and krabi. We payed next to nothing being the low season, and ended up having almost the whole place to ourselves. We felt like royalty, the buildings are amazing, clean and natural feeling, you can't help feeling peaceful and calm with the open style concept, jungle and ocean in the background, left this place feeling fresh and rejuvinated. Would definatly stay here again.

Sleepy Island, relaxed hotel

The staff at Costa Lanta were delightful and professional at every moment, always willing to help us with our questions or attend to our needs. The room was simple yet innovative, and it was just what we needed, especially the beautiful mosquito cocoon that was built for us every night. We loved the location and the infinity pool was a real treat, just off from the beach, but more private than at the other resorts. We hardly eat in restaurants when in Thailand as we always prefer street food, but we indeed ate in the hotel restaurant by the water and the food was excellent. We also recommend their cocktail \"Gin Gin\" which was packed with ginger and fresh limes. I would absolutely stay at this resort again.

Loved loved loved Costa Lanta. The resort made our experience. So fun, classy and unique. Staff was great and friendly. They have an amazing pool, beach area, nice and secluded. Great for us on our honeymoon, would highly recommend to anyone, worth every penny to stay there.

Relaxing getaway

We like the quiet location at the top of the beach. Rooms are very stark , cement and minimalist. They have a opening at the top of the bathroom for ventilation but the mosquitoes will find their way in, however they do have a mosquito net in the room . Not much closet space , so bring very little clothes, swimsuits and swimsuits. The grounds are large and you are not packed in like sardines . However they do not have many villas. The staff are very friendly , for some their English is limited but they try very hard. It is a really nice place and the beach they are located on is very beautiful with good clean calm water for swimming during this season.

I Heart Costa Lanta

Costa Lanta is one of the best places I've stayed. I needed a holiday where all I had to do was roll out of bed, have a few meals, lay by the pool/ocean and read books. Costa Lanta gives you all of that relaxation and more. The service was wonderful. The reception staff, the restaurant staff -- all super kind, attentive and genuine. The only real downside was the mattress... it could have been a little more comfortable. You won't regret staying here.

Perfect getaway for 2!

It was a perfect venue to get away for 4 Days! The beach is foot steps away from the resort and its beyond increadble; best top 3 beaches I've travelled to. The resort is tucked in the corner of the beach away from the loud music and crowds. Food it's very delicious and the rooms do not disappoint. The hotel staff are very helpful and speak English. The bikes available to the guests is also the perfect touch. The only compliant is we felt as though your nickled and dimed for everything; if you use the bikes for over 90 mins, it's extra $, if you want a second cup of juice at breakfast, there's a cost, mini bar charges are extremely high and same with having your clothing laundered. That's all. It was a perfect getaway!

Modern luxury for a tranquil escape

I booked Costa Lanta after looking at many different options mostly because of the unique architecture and close proximity to town. Truly, from the moment I arrived I was absolutely thrilled with my choice. This is not a big resort with loud music and kids running everywhere but rather a tranquil piece of paradise at the end of a beautiful beach. The service is perfect, the food excellent and of all the massages I had in Thailand, the one I received here with the Thai herbal compress was the best ever. I can't believe the good fortune I had in choosing this place for a quiet getaway with a friend because it could not have been any better.

Fantastic boutique hotel, absolute favorite!

Absolutely fantastic boutique resort!! We spent two weeks in Thailand and this was our favorite resort and location. The private beach is absolutely huge and breath taking. The sunsets were marvelous and the hotel staff service was top class. The private buildings are very modern and well maintained. The outdoor shower is perfect given the climate on the island. The food at the hotel was outstanding as well. The infinity pool is huge and was perfect! We spent most of our days relaxing by the beach and would alternate between taking a dip in the pool or going in the ocean. We really truly enjoyed our stay here. The only area for improvement is the bedroom mattress could be a bit more softer. It was a bit of a hard mattress. I would still definitely go back to this hotel, just an item to improve.

Unique architecture and really friendly staff

I have always wanted to stay at Costa Lanta due to the unique architecture. However, it was unfortunately low season, thus the weather thwarted most of our plans and generally the island is on shut down. The staff at Costa Lanta were very pleasant, helpful and did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am keen to try it again in better weather so I can open all the walls!
Not to self and others, October is not a good time for Koh Lanta.

Lækker morgenmad - god kaffe . Lå dejligt på stranden dejligt roligt. Virkelig lækker pool , begrænset sol i løbet af formiddagen/eftermiddag. Personale virkelig søde og lækre hjemmelavet pizzaer blev serveret.
Små ting som mangler for at blive til et 4 stjernet hotel, som værelser, badeværelse og bedre solsenge.

This place is a 2-star trying to be a 3-star. Internet connection was out or slow throughout, staff told me faulty information about the ferry schedule and refused to take responsibility for it, and there is no view (no windows!) so you’re stuck inside a concrete slab. The bed quality is low and we ordered king size but got two sole beds next to each other. Overall the location is fine and it’s cute but it’s just not as good as the pictures

Klaustrofobisk bunker

Personalen var toppen men anläggningen är i stort behov av renovering.
Rummet var oerhört litet, när de fällt ner myggnätet och sprayat innanför nätet vid 18-tiden så fanns det ingenstans att sitta och inte ens en meter att gå på runt sängen.
Lider man av klaustrofobi ska man absolut inte bo här.
Finns potential att bli jättebra men det krävs en del arbete innan dess.

Kein warmes Wasser im Bad. Kein Wasserkocher im Zimmer.Frühstück sehr einfach, Extras können gegen Aufpreis bestellt werden.Obstimmer nur Wassermelone + Ananas, jeweils 3 Scheibchen.....Erinnert alles fast ein bisschen an
