This hotel is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. We travel frequently and this hotel is one of the best ever. Owner and staff are amazing. Continental breakfast was delicious. Rooms were clean and had private balcony. Enjoyed the rooftop deck for wine in the evening.

Nice hotel close to restaurantes and bus stop not far from spezia to take the train to cinque Terre
We drove from vertibo to this location and The views are amazing and is locate
Great service and the people that works there are really nice and helpful

Pleasant five night stay

We had a five night stay here in early April and enjoyed our time. Pluses were the free onsite parking that never was crowded, free wifi and free breakfast. Rooms were basic but clean and heat and A/C worked well. We were hoping the restaurant would have been open as even though it is a short drive down to La Spezia, the parking situations at restaurants is non-existent. There are a couple of places to walk to from this hotel but hours are flexible and not posted so some evenings we were out of luck. Would recommend this as a good location when visiting Cinque Terre as the train stations is just 10 minutes away.

Perfect stop when going to see Cinque Terre

We stayed at Hotel Nella in La Spezia as a \"home base\" while spending time in CInque Terre. The train station is only about 10 minutes away from the hotel and is a great way to go in seeing CInque Terre. At the train station get A CInque Terre Card for 1 day or 2 days and you can travel by train as much as you please.
The hotel was nice. Breakfast was excellent. Daniel was exceptional in how he helped us. The room was plain and the bed was only average in terms of comfort.
This hotel works great as a base from which to visit Cinque Terre.

The receptionist was very helpful and explained to us how best to get to cinque terre.
The room was simple, the bed and blankets not the most comfortable but the price was just fine.
Breakfast is certainly reasonable
We ate in the evenings at a local restaurant opposite the hotel on the recommendation of the receptionist and the food there was amazing. Though the waitress did not know how to speak English.

Super hotel in a great location and superb staff

Perched on to of a hill in a a tiny hamlet above La Spezia, the views out across the valley from the hotel balcony were spectacular. There is a small pizzeria/bar across the road and a restaurant next to the hotel. Everything we needed at the end of the hard day's driving. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - even helping us to find an English speaking vet as we needed official health certification stamped into our dog's passport. The breakfast was splendid served in a very pretty breakfast room. I would definitely stay there again it was a great overnight stay..

Nice hotel in a quiet area

The hotel is far from the La Spezia. You will need a car to get there. There is a free parking lot across the street. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They gave us a lot of info and suggestions how to organize our Cinque Terre visit. The breakfast was very good, a lot of choices, exelent presentation and taste. There is a restaurant next door that serves dishes one must try. Prices are affordable. The staff - again exelent. Overall we had a very good experiance with Nella hotel.

Stayed two nights so we could tour Cinque Terre. Nice location, really liked the rooms, the dining room, breakfast was awesome, had dinner there, delicious, free parking, second floor patio where we could relax and unwind after Cinque Terre. Only thing we didn't like was there was no elevator, but a minor problem for us.

Lovely Stay with Some Caveats

In general we enjoyed our stay at hotel Nella. The pastoral surroundings, the cool air and the porch access were very enjoyable. The personal hygiene products provided were of better quality than most girls. Breakfast was nice, and all the staff we encountered were helpful.

There were a few details that made the stay a little less enjoyable:
1. The corridor leading to our room had a bad, sewage like odor. There was no smell in the room.
2. The WiFi reception was patchy in the room.
3. The shower was a bit crowded and awkward.
4. The opening besides the entrance door in the room was a door with an electric roller shutter that provided access to a communal porch. This meant that we couldn't open a window to let in air and light without giving up on some privacy.
5. Reaching the hotel by bus from la Spezia was a little complicated. The local bus company has poor service and info. Make sure you come to la Spezia at an hour when you can still buy tickets to the bus and there are still lines leading to the hotel. Contact the hotel in advance, as they can provide the necessary information.

Great place but expensive to get to by Taxi

Overall, fantastic place. Comfortable, clean rooms recently remodeled. Wood floors. Excellent breakfast spread and dining area. Friendly, helpful staff speak great English. The only downside for us after having missed our stop at Cinque Terre and missing our reservation at our hotel there was that we weren't able to plan well enough to realize that this was a substantial taxi fare to get to from the train station...30 Euro. My husband talked him down to 20 but still....rountrip taxi fare to the place added 35% to our costs of staying here making it not worth it for our situation. If you're driving, its definitely worth checking out because the place is great. Its at the top of a hill so the view is great and you get a sense that you're away from the busy stress of the working city of La Spezia.

Great quiet place with awesome breakfast.

We stayed here 3 nights earlier this month. We booked a room for 4 but ended up having an extra person. The staff was nice enough to add a bed and let us all stay in the same room--for an added charge, but it is well worth it. The breakfast is amazing! You always read about how \"light\" the breakfasts are at hotels in Europe, but the breakfast here had an assortment of cereals, hams/speck, fruits, yogurt, toast...The cherry tomatoes are the BEST and freshest we've had ever! They have water, juice, teas, regular coffee, or you can ask for a cappuccino or expresso. The staff is very nice and pleasant and always helpful. The only thing is wifi is only in the common areas, but we knew that when we booked the place. But if you have to have wifi in your room, then you might want to reconsider booking this place. But really, who goes on vacation and is stuck to their phones/computers/tablets all day? You should go out and enjoy Italy--after a hearty breakfast, of course! Can't wait to come back here!!

This is obviously no Four Season but great quality for the price you pay. The room was decent sized and clean. The breakfast buffet was huge for italian standards and the staff friendly. We used this as a base hotel to drive to Cinque Terre and it was a bit far but a beautiful drive.

Great staff. Out of town old school hotel.

We stayed at Nella for 2 nights whilst visiting Cinque Terra region with a car. You absolutely need a car to stay here as it is out of town. The rooms were large with good bathrooms and \"waffle\" rather than regular towels. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were great and the breakfast was fabulous (I love meat, ricotta, yoghurt, coffee etc. no bacon and eggs here!)
The town of La Spezzia is around 5km down the hill so you can park and drive for the five towns and hike between if you wish. We recommend also driving to portavenere as it is lovely. The walls are very thin so not great for light sleepers and there is no lift, so no heavy luggage. The walkway can be mossy and slippery so not so good for the immobile or older clientele, especially with luggage in tow!
I loved out stay here . The restaurant next door was good too and the staff made this hotel for me. On facilities and location alone, it's average but good for people with car on a budget who appreciate the local tips and cuisine.
Two nights was a little pricier than I expected but very reasonable.

We liked this hotel because the staff is very friendly and our room was big and clean. We had a corner room with windows on two sides so it was bright and cheery. The only drawback was the lack of an elevator and lugging our suitcases up the stairs was not much fun. Could have packed a little lighter. Other than that we really enjoyed the hotel. There were a couple of restaurants right around the corner which were excellent. And when you walked to the corner you got a beautiful view of the LaSpezia harbor. It felt like we were a long way from the city center but we really weren't. One road down the hill and you were there. The staff gave us a map for parking free and then the walk to the train station to get to Cinque Terra - did not take long at all. The hotel had a very nice breakfast buffet and we would definitely go back.

Enjoyable stay with friendly and informative owner

We stayed at the Nella Hotel, for our visit to Cinque Terre. It was located on the mountain top over looking La Spezia, and was convenient for us to use, as we had a rental car. The hotel has been in the family for sevaral decades, and the owner has his master degree from the University of Bologna. His mother stills works at the reception desk, and the hotel has passed down form the generations of the family. The owner was very helpful in directing us to free parking downtown, for leaving the car and going by trian to La Spezia. There was a very nice breakfast room, and breakfast.

The staff at Hotel Nella is extremely helpful and are multi-lingual.

The vehicle that I rented had a leaking tire, and they took the time to recommend and call a tire shop that was located just down the hill in La Spezia.

The area is quiet at night and, even if you don't have a car, it is easy to take the bus to the train station to get to Cinque Terre.

Great hotel for Cinque Terre visit

This hotel is on a hill top overlooking La Spezia. Awesome view of the city. It's only a few minutes drive to the train station for traveling to Cinque Terre National Park. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower is a bit difficult to enter (have to step over the bidet) but that's a very minor nit. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They suggested the short drive to Portovenere which we enjoyed very much. Very good breakfast. Even had boiled eggs. If your GPS cannot find the Nella's street address (Via Genova 591) listed for La Spezia, then use the nearby village of La Foce.

Close to Cinque Terre when travelling by car

Hotel Nella is situated outside of the city La Spezia and easilly accessed by car (although map or navigation system is highly recommended to find the hotel), only 15 minutes drive away from Cinque Terre region.

The room looks exactly like on the pictures. The only negative thing is a REALLY small showertube. So my husband had really trouble fitting in the showercabin.

But if you just need a place to sleep for the Cinque Terre tour on your own, hotel Nella is great for that.

Great hotel for the Cinque Terre Area

We had the quad room, which suited us just fine. The AC was adequate, but the showers themselves were very small. The staff was very friendly, spoke both english and spanish for the non italian speaking. Breakfast was decent, and the free WI-FI worked without a hitch. We chose to stay a t this place for the value. A quick drive to the train station got us to the cinque terre area. La Spezia itself doesn't look like a place I would like to rest my head. It was uninviting and quite frankly scary at night.

Hotel Nella was a wonderful little hotel with an incredibly friendly staff that was knowledgable about the area and willing to share their insight and love of the area. The hotel itself is not at all in the city and a little inconvenient to get to from the train station. However, a quick bus ride down the mountain to the train station got us to Cinque Terre in no time at all.

We had Room 5, which was a decent size but had a mirror covered pillar in the centre of the room that was a nuisance, but yet handy for my wife styling her hair. The toilet/shower room was small and you needed to be a contortionist to get into and out of the shower without stepping into the toilet. The shower itself was small.
The aircon worked well and the bed was comfortable. All the staff were happy and friendly. The outside of the hotel could do with some maintenance. There is no lift. The immediate surroundings are okay but not picturesque yet 100 metres up the road the view is really good.
One of the best things about the hotel was that it was not in La Spezia, which we felt was an uninviting city.
Overall, this is a friendly mid-price hotel, value for money, so stay here rather than in La Spezia itself.

Customer service, breakfast were awesome! We dined at the hotel for dinner as there is nowhere else to go, and both the service and food were excellent. While the views from outside the hotel were beautiful, we found out room view to be non existent. The beds were incredibly hard, the room extremely small and the bathroom/shower were unbearably small. For the higher price point, it just didn't make sense. We moved into town and got a spacious room with a comfortable bed for 49 Euro per night.

The biggest drawback with the hotel was finding it. Our map detail was limited but the tourist center in town gave us good directions. The hotel itself was very nice and well kept. When inquiring about places to eat for dinner the concierge was incredibly helpful in giving us several options and making a reservation for us at the restaurant. Another little note, at checkout we were given the option of paying in euros or dollars to avoid the fee credit card companies charge.

Hôtel très agréable.
Le très gros point fort : le personnel ! D’une gentillesse incroyable. La majorité du personnel parle un français impeccable, souriant, à l’écoute et plein de bon conseils. Ils nous ont même réservé un taxi jusqu’à l’aéroport très tôt le matin.
Les chambres sont spacieuses et comfortables, propres.
Le petit déjeuner copieux et gourmand.
Très bien situé : 45 mn a pied de la ville , 10mn en voiture et le personnel vous explique les lignes de bus et vous donne même une fiches avec horaires.
Vous passerez à coup sûr un bon moment dans cet hôtel.
Un immense merci au personnel pour ce séjour.

Nous avons sejourné deux nuits pour visiter les villages des \"cinque terre\".
L'acceuil et la gentillesse du personnel etait remarquable , y compris lors du petit dejeuner. Celui-ci etait d'ailleurs tres copieux.
Les chambres etaient tres propres et spacieuses , la climatisation parfaitement fonctionelle, la salle de bain meriterait un petit rafraichissement mais etait tres propre.
Nous recommandons avec plaisir cet hotel.

Ho soggiornato per il fine settimana, in questa struttura che presenta qualche piccolo difetto,dovuto al fatto che è un po datato. Nel complesso però sono piccoli difetti,che sono ampiamente ripagati dalla locazione della struttura, dalla ottima colazione,segnalo in particolare le ottime torte che prepara personalmente la proprietaria, e dalla cordialità dell' intero staff.

Hôtel familiale très,très bon accueil ,hôtel calme très propre le petit déjeuner est copieux avec la bienveillance et le sourire de la mama.
Daniele est souriant,disponible et de très bon conseil pour visiter les conques terre.

Bon accueil, le monsieur parle très bien français. Chambre un peu petite mais suffisante. Parking privé à côte de l'hôtel. 2 restaurants à proximité sinon il faut aller à la Spezia. Petit-déjeuner bon avec un choix satisfesant.

Old, noisy, very small bathroom and\ntiny shower!

The hotel is very old, no renovation since
building! The room are very noisy, one can
hear toilet flush from the room next! The
bathroom was too small and the shower itself
was a joke! I will never book this hotel again
and my advise would be, avoid this hotel and
look for a better one! Those who gave this hotel stars must feel ashamed!

Prima hotel

Mooie locatie met ruime parkeergelegenheid. Wel een klein badkamertje en het bed was nogal hard. Wollen dekens heb ik lang niet meer gezien in hotels, maar er is niks mis mee. Uiterst vriendelijke medewerkers die goed Engels spreken. Prima ontbijt.

Molto carino ma migliorabile

Hotel molto carino situato fuori dal centro abitato di La Spezia, quindi necessario utilizzare mezzi proprio per raggiungerlo e/o spostarsi.

Le camere sono un po' datate ma, nonostante tutto, confortevoli.

Per la vasta presenza di scale non è proprio consigliabile per persone con problemi di deambilazione.

Degna di nota la colazione nonchè la cortesia del personale.

Hotel typique mais qui pour un 3 étoiles est resté figé dans les années 1980 ...
Charmant mais...
La chambre est vieillotte et manque d'équipement.
Heureusement il y a la clim.
Petit dej super et équipe très professionnelle.
