Staff is very helpful and friendly, but we had a few issues with our room. Bathtub drain was plugged so water didn't drain, plus there was no instructions on TV remote. When I told front desk staff about the problems they did have maintenance come and reboot the TV system and fixed the bathtub drain problem within a couple hours so that was good. Swimming pool was very dirty, didn't look like it had been cleaned in a couple weeks. Also a lot of traffic noise on the front side of hotel. I don't know that I'd stay here again, however the staff was super nice and it's clean, other than the outdoor pool.

Loved that I was given a choice of floor to be on and had a great sunset and sunrise view over a field! Room was very nice with a full size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave and dishwasher. And real glass cups and plates! Comfy bed and nice shower.

Internet not working when we first got there.
Room service only stop by twice in five days and out of those two times only once did we get to exchange towels. The lady didnt appear to understand english. She was kind but my wife asked for more towels and we never saw her again so not sure she understood what we were asking for.
The tv screen is horrible. You can literally see big LEDs behind the screen used to light the screen.
The outlet on the right side of the bed near the light wouldn't hold the simplest of plugs. Its very worn. Fire hazard.
I also carry a UV light in my travels and there are several questionable stains on the carpet, the ac unit, and on the wall near the bathroom sink.
The parking lot is riddled with holes and broken asphalt in several areas. Safety hazard.
Upon checking out I was told that I had a pending charge and the receptionist was unable to give me a final receipt nor check me out due to a mysterious charge. He told me he would bring it to the attention of the manager which he did and the charge was resolved. I had to call back 2 days later and have my receipt emailed to me.
Room 308 needs some attention.

The property was quiet but the refrigerator was huge and tv was small and n an awkward place to watch. Deadbolt did not work, thermostat did not work, bathroom door would not shut. Breakfast was really small and food ran out, for the size of the hotel the breakfast area should be bigger, not enough places to sit.

The room was spotless and very comfortable with the couch. The kitchen included a full size fridge, dishwasher and 2 burner stove as well as dishes and utensils. We were just there one night, but would definitely choose town place suites again-we chose it because it was pet friendly and were glad about that choice.

The fire exit door next to our room didn’t open.

Many of the in room amenities were broken, like the TV, the in sink garbage disposal, and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. The adjoining room had guests with a cat, and we could smell the cat waste in our room. Front desk staff were very helpful.

Everything was great. The suite was very nice for the price we paid. Only problem was the ac units were leaking and creating soaking wet spots in the rooms which made it very uncomfortable stepping on with socks and without socks.

We loved our stay. We were in a studio which had access to a cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, and full-size refrigerator. We didn’t like the pool. That was our only complaint. Our daughter went to skim it herself and there was a dead bird floating in it (totally possible it just happened). But the discoloration need the bottom of the pool on the sides made my daughter not want to use it.

We felt very safe and left things in the bed of our pickup without concern of it being taken. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Would have liked a fenced area for the dog. Also, there was vibration in the room during the morning. I think it may have been from the industrial washing machine.

I ended up checking out and not staying there. The hotel is full of construction/railroad workers that live there long term. The door to room they tried to have me stay in had been pried open and deadbolt would not lock. I felt too unsafe to stay there overnight.

Lots of deferred maintenance. Time for some much needed TLC. We had the two bedroom suite. Thermostat in back bedroom broken. No one available to repair it on the weekend. Was given a fan. Had to ask for wash cloths. 3 tv’s only one remote. TV in the primary bedroom not working. Front desk brought us a remote but it never worked. We gave up. Bed uncomfortable. Wall art missing but holes left where it had been. Only decaf coffee available in the room. All staff we encountered were very young and appeared to lack the authority or knowledge to make the changes to improve the quality of our stay. We were visiting to attend a graduation. It’s no vacation destination but lots can be done to make it better.

Overcharged for unwanted room with no working TVs

I was set up in a one bedroom suite for the first night and charged $239 before taxes. There were two tv's in the room and neither one worked. When the front desk was asked about the tv's they said their maintenance guy would be there in 2 days (not helpful). I was still charged the full price and when I went to change rooms the next day, I was stuck back in the same suite, with no working tv's. The front desk staff was very friendly but not able to help much or get someone who could help find a solution to the problems. The room was mostly clean which was good.

$200 a night for a room that was spacious, had decent amenities, but was in bad need of a refurbishment. Paint, wall coverings and furniture were beat up. And carpet was torn and or wet in spots. Staff was friendly and would have asked for a different room but none were available that fit needs of our party.

Checked in just fine. Got to the room they assigned and it was under construction. Went back downstairs and the young man apologized and got us to a different room. The second room was fairly clean until we went to make out the extra bed. Sheets were filthy. The front desk apologized again and got us a clean set. The hallway had a very strong, weird aroma. Thankfully it did not continue to the room.

Went downstairs to eat breakfast at 8:45 with a 10:00 stop time. Absolutely everything was out. My husband had to ask them to restock.

It wasn’t the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Just expecting a higher standard for a Marriott.

This was a very comfortable stay at the quiet edge of a retail center. Beds & pillows (firm & soft) comfy, shower comfy, room modern, spacious, and efficient. Loved the access to stream video on the TV (Netflix, Prime, Showtime, HBO, etc.) and the front desk was helpful, even loaning us board games when bad weather extended our stay. There was a small housekeeping issue--previous guest's trash was not emptied and I could not tell if dishes in dishwasher were clean or dirty. But the room and bath appeared perfectly clean. Breakfast was identical each day of my 5-day stay: cheese omelette, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, boiled eggs, cereal and carbs. A little variety would have been nice, but still nothing to complain about. They have a tiny outdoor pool, not open in December. But this made for a quiet stay as families with children no doubt booked the noisy hotels with indoor pools. (I've stayed in the one with the waterpark next door and there were kids all over. I think they had a slumber party in the hotel room across from mine. Ughhh!) I have a friend in town and I will likely stay here again.

Covid surge, no masks, unsecured WiFi

Let me start by saying I travel quite a bit and understand that some places are nicer than others. I want a clean comfortable bed and a bit of quiet. A few things about this Garden City hotel:
1- Finney Cty, the surrounding areas, the state of Kansas and Garden City is in the middle of a surge of Covid. I’m here working at St Catherine’s because of it. No masks. Every single guest was walking around without a mask some coughing all over the place.No one asked them to mask up.
2-WiFi/internet is open and unsecured, which means I couldn’t log on to the university where I am taking classes nor the hospital EMR Epic. Even on my phone I had to turn off WiFi and use data just to browse. There was no password available.
3-The parking lot is rutted with pot holes. You might get a flat it’s so bad.
4-the last straw was I work at night and while I understand complete silence during the day is impossible and unreasonable, having construction workers outside my window on a cherry picker working on the room above mine from the outside with drills, hammers and what sounded like a jack hammer was too much. So I made arrangements somewhere else.

I’m now staying down the street at Best Western and already it’s better. I still can’t believe the Marriott allows this to happen at one of their hotels

Pillows in bed were super uncomfortable. My neck is still messed up a week later. Breakfast is just meh. The staff is nice though. For the room I was in to be called a “suite” is a bit of a stretch. It was more just like one room and not that comfortable.

We had a very pleasant stay at the TownPlace in Garden City. The staff was very nice and even let us upgrade after seeing that our room was too small for our liking. 10/10 do recommend!!
