Dumbest check in staff in the world. Local acquaintance made res for us. Clerk Kept insisting in PRINTING ENTIRE CREDIT. CARD# IN HARD COPY after using Applepay (the entire point is to preserve CC#) so I prepaid room through hotel’s.com to avoid the stupidity. Location is near bridge to SG, but it is actually at the ferry Terminal to Indonesia lots of night clubs and activities. Hotel is basic but 1980s dated. Centralized light switches that don’t work temp control fails to adjust dated bathrooms. I would not recommend unless waiting for the ferry or interested in the very active night life.

Beautiful view of the harbour with sunrise view. Wish the window was bigger. Convenient walk to nearby eateries. Nice swimming pool, though the water could still be more clear. Picturesque view of the sunrise at the swimming pool. Room has new paint smell. Cot had gaps but they exchanged it for a better cot that was nice and baby slept well. Delicious spacious food. Convenient access to lift. Nice lobby, friendly staff. Water bottles only limited to two a day. Few people staying there and some areas quite empty. Breakfast area spacious and delicious

Stuck in the 80's Time Wrap.

Perhaps 20 to 30 years ago, this was a magnificent hotel. But the lack of maintenance and upgrading leaves this big property hotel in a run down state. No floor towel. So be careful when stepping out of the shower. It's a slip/fall hazard. The tv signal reception are bad and gives grainy tv show viewing. The shower gel smells fishy, I kid you not. The Berjaya Group offer us this kind of hotel to stay?? The room has no safe. Saw ants on the tray with the instant coffee and sugar sachets. The bathroom door is eroded. The tv is not internet tv/digital tv. So cannot do screen mirroring. I only stayed there just to fulfill my requirements by Hotels.com to extend my other free nights accumulated to carry over to next year. Not worth to spend SGD100 (MRY310) for 1 night's stay.

Room smelled like an old wet rag.
Toilet leaked from the top.
My rooms phone was not working at all.
Wall switches were falling off.

Hotel Parking was extremely far from lobby and rooms.
Driving out of the hotel, has to go through checkpoint to get checked even though we're not from the ferry terminal.
No direct walkway to nearby food stalls

Front office a lady did not know how to handle as she never give back my change,as i book 2 transaction, ias i told he to calculate together but she refused to,end up cockup the transaction, Hotel is abit dirty,alot or mold n fungus in the room, towel cant be changed for the 4days stay, as the staff says out of towel, room service are too late ,they came in to change around 4pm , wifi are limited access, keep logging out n cant log in. The moment I stepped into the hotel room, I could smell cigarettes. Went to the toilet and when I turned the faucet/tap, the water was black at first then turned yellow and it took awhile before it turned to normal water colour. Hotel room flooring/carpet extremely dirty and the bed was kinda itchy so I suspect bed bugs or something. The hotel room itself is massive but very run down and poorly maintained. Would not consider staying in this hotel ever again unless it has been fully renovated or something.

Service staffs are okay. There is complimentary carpark but at the adjoined mall carpark, not the out front open space carpark. Have to pay different price for different lots…

What’s not okay about the hotel:

- daily exit have to go through custom check as the hotel is within the DFS area.
- Hot water in shower does NOT work, only hot water in bathtub works. Not even the basin tap.
- cards to access hotel rooms are faulty, have to go to the counter to “renew” the access which is the 1st time ever to encounter such thing…
^ both hot water & door access issue was checked by technicians but unable to solve.
- 4 lifts, 16 levels, waited over 3 mins for 1 lift that stops every other level on the way down.
- Common corridor is not well lit enough and not safe for any kids beyond waist height to be near and the railings are low, serious safety hazard.
- No utensils / pot / pan provided in suite room, not sure what the kitchenette is for.

Stayed in many hotels in JB, this is just 1 of the other one would not recommend.

The staff and the level of service was excellent but the property clearly needs some further investment to match the quality of the service the staff give. All were polite, courteous, friendly and helpful

This is a massive hotel with amazing facilities that just requires a little more strategic planning for maintenance and support from the group to the management.

The location and opportunities that will arise from further investment, particularly the closeness of international borders, should be re-visited by the group owners following the pandemic. This would be with the forthcoming Singapore MRT expanding into Malaysia in the next couple of years.

The rooms in need to revamp.Toilet bath sink, doors might need some repair as one of our room had a bit difficulty in opening. We had our stay with low pressure of water n the other room no heater...water was discoloured as well n we're not sure if it's even clean for shower however we just make do with. We love the breakfast, we love the interior of the palm lounge and we love every interior of the hotel, the beautiful view of the ocean and best of all that we enjoyed during our stay was all of Berjaya hotel Staffs!!!! Thats what bring us wanting to keep staying from now onwards besides the beautiful views y'all had but beautiful people who dedicate themselves for the hotel as well. Overall it was never a bad stay for me n my family n all my 5 kids! Truly one accommodating accomodation we had for our family trip! Thank u much Berjaya Waterfront Hotel and The entire Zon!

Nightmare stay

Check in at 1030pm and takes 2hours to get my room. Reception said no booking shown on their system which I saw a similar review for this hotel. When manager finally approved to let me have a room first, it was already 12.30midnight. Changed room 3 times for a 2 night stay, first room shower head spoil, bed sheet and pillow case had tons of brown stains. Numerous visit to the reception and numerous phone calls yet no actions. Frustrating that after 3hours finally get to change a room for my shower and head out to visit the city. 2nd room given was downgraded, smaller room and aircon was very weak, whole room is warm and humid and wash basin tap water is weak. 3rd room aircon wind is strong but it’s not cold only wind. Shower water strength weak and toilet tub is shaky. Overall it’s a nightmare stay. First and last time visit to this hotel, strongly not recommended.

Front desk receptionist staff said that there aren't any records found to my reservation. She also said that currently there aren't rooms available. After many conversations, she told me that she managed to get a last room for me. Upon checking, there are no towels in the room. Had to go down to the reception counter 2 times just to get the towels to be send over. Nearly an hour to get the towels send. And the time is reaching to midnight. Very frustrated with the service.

This hotel overlooks Singapore and a ferry port. Handy for a quick trip to Indonesia. Staff were very courteous and helpful. At night there is a club scene nearby. They have pretty girls who will try to upsell beer. No funny business from what I saw. This is NOT connected to the hotel directly. The included buffet breakfast sets you up for the day. A mile from town. Use Grab, usually 12 RM (2023) to JB city centre

I have stayed in this hotel for many years. Room was huge because I booked a suite however, aircon wasn’t cold at all, feels suffocated in the room like as though no room. Long bath doesn’t even have a stopper, hence can’t be used. Bedsheet looks clean but feels dirty. The ventilation vent was so dusty that it looks scary.

Room condition was old. They had 2 yrs to refurbish but nothing was done. Mall shops are 98% closed for biz. Used to enjoy staying here for weekends but now the hotel seemed money crazy. Everything is chargable like extra towel and sugar, tea bags and no longer offer free extended late check out.

Faulty door, smelly room, leaking sewage, smelly pillow and sofa. Faulty door which cannot be opened by the room access card, not only on the 1st day, but it happened on the 2nd day itself. Personally I think that this is not even worth 1 star. It’s the worst hotel I have stayed so far. This hotel definitely will leave a bad impression and spoiled the tourism industry to Malaysia.

The hot water at the bath not hot enough. Would have been better if the water was hot.
TV channels were good, watched Singapore channels throughout my stay.
Room was big and nice.
Quite deserted and given a corner on the top floor. Lifts were ok, no problem.
The hotel had no umbrellas for hotel guests. it was raining the two nights I spent at the hotel.
Reached hotel at 12 pm. Was only allowed to check in at 2 pm, though the hotel was empty, it was a weak day.

The hotel is very old but very well located. Because of COVID, there was almost no staff present and there was only 1 waiter for the whole restaurant for breakfast and we had to wait 20+ minutes to be served even if we ordered the previous night and confirmed when we would be there. People were friendly but disorganized. Hotel needs renovating urgently.

Basically the most disappointing stay ever. Bedsheet is stained and smelly. Pillow had the worst smell ever. My room wasn’t given towel, when I ask from the cart the attendant told me need to be charge and ask me to call front desk to get. Toilet was so dirty, no different than public toilet. Carpet was wet and with wet socks smell. Staffs are seem to be ignorance. The most clean area is the ceiling, probably they just renovated the ceiling.old is fine, but at least to be clean is the outmost important.

It was a lovely and comfortable hotel, excellent facilities including wifi, staff were friendly, shops and restaurants nearby but it was limited what we can see and do interesting places nearby within walking distance. Easy reach from Singapore via train, bus or taxi.

#1203 - Interconnected Room.

1. There was poo on the toilet floor left uncleaned when we entered
2. The windows were ajar and open; we were on level 12. It was extremely dangerous, especially if you have kids travelling with you.
3. Our rooms were left open and unattended to after we left; our rooms were facing the lifts so it was a breach of security. This happened 2 days in a row.
4. Rooms were dusty and not clean.

Won't recommend staying here.

The lay out of the hotel was great, nice and great soothing enviroment .
Cleaniess still need to improve , there was a sticky black substance on the robe i left it on the bed but they not change. Attentiveness wasnt great. Carpet was still dirty after room cleaning but it was still acceptable.

Amenties start to wear and tear. Slight touch up should be able to improve overall condition.

I am not sure as to blame poor service or the customer service are not trained to be in their situation on 10Aug. They also need to learn how to handle the receiving and registered guests as at that time, it was total messed. I was so angry but part of me feel sympathize with customer service. The hotel is outdated and rundown, definitely not worth it to stay. As smoking is allowed inside the hotel, it makes the whole environment very smelly. If ure only looking for a place to stay then it’s fine. But if you want to really relax and spend time in the hotel, this hotel is not recommended. The swimming pool doesn’t look good, not sure if it is algae or the water is just green. The gym was so so, a bit smelly. Customer service was fine.

I arrived at the hotel at midnight hoping that check in will be a breeze because I wanted an early rest. But had to wait for more than 30 minutes because there was only 2 staffs available and they were doing things SO SLOWLY. Their attitude wasn’t pleasant at all. Was given a room that was NOT HOUSEKEPT. Walked into the bathroom to see someone’s underwear hanging there. It was room 807. Went back to concierge to request for a clean room and was given another room, 806. Everything in the room was old so do not expect 4 stars. I DID NOT know that the hotel is located next to a lot of bars so do expected loud music going on till very late at night and seeing men bringing their ladies up to the room to do funny business. TOTALLY NOT 4 STARS STANDARD. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE BEAUTIFULLY TAKEN ROOM PICTURES AS SHOWN TOO.

It is one of the worst hotels in johor. Once it was great. And even a year ago it was old but the staff tried. But now the staff don't care. Check in was a nightmare with them refusing to accept my PR status.the room having No water for two nights in a row and it taking repeated complaints to fix. The lifts broke down two days in a row and having to walk down 16 floors. The whole place deserves to be demolished.

Berjaya Waterfront needs to train it's staff better. Room not cleaned by 6pm. Seems like they have adopted the standards of some third world countries 1 star hotels where rooms don't get cleaned if you stay multiple days. Good job Berjaya!!

Horrible terrible hotel stay

Stayed in room 1141. Revisit this hotel after many years because of its location and great hotel. However, is a true disappointment.

1) pillow/bed comes with a stale smell. Hair found on pillow upon check in. Wonder if the pillow case /bedsheet was changed from previous occupant.
2) shower spoilt. We got to use the Bidet spray to shower in cold water. My 4yo have to shower in cold water.
3) room airconditional is terrible. Used the inbuilt remote to control to highest fan and lowest degree but is still warm.
4) room telephone spoilt.

Berjaya - an adequate stay. But EXCELLENT value.

The hotel was quite adequate, but could do with a little TLD... clean the windows etc. The food was excellent and your staff were very willing although, it would be better if they had a slightly better command of the English language too.
