Loved this hotel! It's a beautiful old building and we had a lovely room that opened onto a balcony. It's right on the grand canal and short walking distance to the train station. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was very good. 30 minutes walk to St. Mark's square. You can't go wrong here

The room was incredibly hot they said they turned off the heat but the heat continued throughout the night so we had to open the window which was not ideal as we were on the first floor. The front desk staff at check in was great as was the gentleman who took our bags to the room but the desk staff in the morning was not as friendly.

The staff was so courteous and helpful. They stored luggage before check in and after check out with smiles on their faces. Really nice people. And the breakfast was amazing. We were here shortly after Christmas and Venice was full of lights. It was cold and freezing but we loved every minute of our stay. Thanks Hotel Principe!

2 of the 3 front desk clerks were friendly and helpful. The 3rd was not... Perhaps because we did not speak Italian. Bellhops were extremely nice... Very friendly. Housekeeping did a great job!

We thought a first floor room near the water would be fun with a closer view of the Grand Canal traffic. Would have been great if not for the daily early morning waste pickup vessel and construction workers who were loud enough to wake us up each day.

Breakfast is a croissant and juice. The room was fine but the hot water literally lasted less than 2-3 minutes. And to top it off, I messaged the hotel to add two people to the reservation since I was in a junior suite. I asked them how much extra it would be to add. They said it wouldn’t cost anymore only the city tax, which was three dollars per person per day. But when I arrived and getting ready to check in, they tried to charge me an extra €120 for the two people despite me showing copies of the messages regarding me asking if there was any extra fee and the Hotel representative telling me that there would be no extra charge.

The location is great a 2 minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station in the main canal. Nice restaurant in the lobby and good breakfast. No a/c available it was uncomfortable in the room even though it was late October, we were forced to leave the terrace door open and when I called the don’t give me no option. The rooms are not updated. Overall it was a good hotel but not what I was expected

The location of Hotel Principe is absolute perfection! We took a water taxi directly to the hotel and were immediately impressed. The staff was friendly, and the American and Italian-style breakfast was excellent each morning. The room had high ceilings, plenty of space for my mom and me, and the balcony was totally worth it — we loved watching the boat traffic on the Grand Canal!

The hotel’s location made getting around Venice so easy — with the water taxi right outside the steps, we could head to St. Mark’s Square or take a vaporetto to Murano and Burano effortlessly. We parked our rental car at Tronchetto Garage, and the hotel even arranged a water taxi pickup within just a few minutes of arrival.

There are plenty of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you’re new to Venice like we were, this is the perfect place to stay. Stop looking and book it — you won’t regret it!

Staying at Hotel Principe was such a neat experience! Being right on the water gave it a truly special Venetian feel, and the views were beautiful. The location couldn’t have been more convenient — it was walkable to so many spots and just a short distance from the train station, which made getting around super easy. The room was comfortable and clean, and I especially loved the shampoo — it smelled just like limoncello! Overall, a wonderful stay with charm and convenience in equal measure. Perhaps my only suggestion is some new carpet or flooring 😉

We had a canal view room and were woken up from 4-6am each morning by deliveries and hotel pickups. Very loud as the workers all yell to each other goes for at least an hour generally more. Understand the need to do their job but just a note.
Good location for ferries and tea in. Lots of shopping close by and restaurant options.

Great Family Stay at Hotel Principe – Venice

We traveled as a family and had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Principe. The location is excellent—less than a 5-minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station, which was very convenient when arriving and departing the city.

We had two rooms. Although they didn’t have a canal view, they were bright, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. One day, we did notice a faint onion smell when opening the window, but it was a one-time occurrence and didn’t impact our overall experience.

Breakfast was one of the highlights: very complete and varied, with fresh fruit, real-tasting eggs (not the artificial kind!), a nice assortment of breads, and a good selection of drinks. It was also included in our reservation made through Hotels.com, which was a great plus.

The hotel has direct access to the canal, which allowed us to enjoy beautiful views and experience a traditional Venetian moment, with gondolas passing right in front of us.

While main attractions like St. Mark’s Square are about a 40-minute walk away, the walk itself is enjoyable and a great way to explore Venice’s charming streets.

All in all, a very good option for staying in Venice, especially if you’re arriving by train and traveling with family.

However , and this is big. The ac was NOT working when we arrived and the first night was like 90 degrees in the room. They finally fixed at late in the second day after I complained and told them I was gonna leave.
I asked other people and many had similar issues and the hotel told them that their ac Was Working , when it clearly wasn’t !!!

It is very convenient to the train station. The hotel itself is nicely appointed. Our room was spacious, comfortable and perfectly attended to by the staff. When we stepped out onto the balcony we were greeted with a with a beautiful view of the Grand Canal and all its wonder. There was also a lovely patio by the canal that we sat out on each night to watch the various boats and Gondal's go by. It was peaceful and relaxing, everything you could imagine in a Venice vacation. For breakfast they have an excellent assortment of pastries, fruits, cheeses, breads, cereals, along with eggs, meats, pancakes and more. The staff was efficient and friendly. The shower cubicle was a little small but was overshadowed by everything else.
Definitely a place of wonderful memories!

The hotel is clean- breakfast is good but would have preferred more variety as we stayed for 3 days and it was the same- but good quality definitely- the location is ideal with view on grand canal and close to train station

The hotel is in a great location to access the station, water taxis from the hotel or on foot. The standard rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Our room had noisy air conditioning and turned off we could hear it from adjoining room. The rooms also do not have coffee or tea making facilities which I missed. We had breakfast each day which was plentiful and there is seating outside viewing the canal. There are plenty of restaurants outside and nearby. Overall an enjoyable stay.
