We have stayed here a couple of times now and love it here. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean with some of my favourite toiletries in the bathroom and Tunnock biscuits for a snack. Breakfast is hot and tasty with cereals and a varied choice for breakfast from a full Scottish fry up to pastries, French toast and porridge to name a few. I chose the pancakes with banana and syrup and there were devine. Plenty of tea and coffee too. We had lunch on the Friday prior to checking in - fish and chips and steak pie - both delicious. Staff are always genuinely friendly, cheery and helpful here and are a credit to the hotel with particular mention to John in the bar and Rose in reception. Thank you for another wonderful stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Very very dated venue and rooms absolutely dates, dark doors, dark carpeted , very dusty poor furniture .whole places needs complete update as rooms do f appear ( apart from bathroom) to have been touched for many many years .

As soon as we walked in the door we felt very welcome. The front desk staff were both extremely helpful and always had a smile on their faces. Our room was clean and comfortable. Had very delicious meals in the restaurant. Breakfast is a great deal for guests and I would advise you make a reservation for dinner as it is a very popular spot for the locals - with good reason, food was excellent! We were met by the manager of the Abbotsford hotel almost immediately and he generously welcomed us and made us feel welcome. Although the building may appear older on the outside, the inside is up to date and comfortable. We had drinks in the bar(relaxing as we listened to locals chew the fat) and then dinner which was very good. The menu is diverse and reasonable. If ever in the area again, I’d stay here.

Terrible experience with this hotel. They advertise laundry facilities, but do not have one. When we brought this up, they rudely told us we could leave (at 9pm) for a refund. They clearly have no intent on fixing the false advertising.
Hotels.com support was very helpful, and made a note that the hotel said they would compensate us for the lost amentity but DID NOT do so (Abbatsford staff lied to hotels.com staff).

Good, large hotel. The room was tidy and more than suitable for my one night stay. The staff were very helpful. And I must make a special mention of praise for Joanne on reception who was there when I checked in, still there when I returned in the evening, and there when I went for breakfast & check out ...though she assured me that she had been home :-) Anyway, she was very helpful and considering that I am on crutches (I'm an above knee amputee) she went out of her way to suggest how to make things like access in the room easier etc - especially for any future visits.
One thing I would point out to make things a little easier. If, like me, you're approaching from Dumbarton centre, there's a signpost for the hotel telling you to turn right, just before the T-junction. I took that to mean turn right AT the junction ... don't! You need to turn right where the signpost is, and follow the little road. If you go up to the junction, you can't then turn into the hotel without going somewhere way past it as the road has a central reservation. So I ended up going about a mile down that road before I could then turn around. You can access the front of the hotel when travelling in this direction.
One thing I would point out to make things a little easier.
