I wasn't there on business. I was staying because I had an early morning hospital appointment. The man on the desk took the payment and ordered the taxi that I requested.
He told me where my room was but I couldn't find it, so I came back down to ask him again.
But he stayed through the back and ignored my calls. There is no bell to ring to let anyone know that I was there. A young waiter was walked by and I asked him where it was and he very kindly took me to my room and unlocked the door for me. My room number was 124 but that number isn't on any notices also the door I was meant to go through to find my room had a
PRIVATE notice above it. So naturally one would. Not go where it says private. The man on the desk gets the terrible star but the waiter gets the excellent star. I have stayed in this hotel before and the staff etc.was excellent.

Stayed here overnight as a surprise for a friends birthday, staff were lovely very helpful, room was spotless, clean and comfortable. We used the leisure centre very good. Breakfast in the morning was really well set out in a lovely area. Excellent choice from cold buffet, hot selection with a fabulous range of items. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again.

We extremely enjoyed our stay at Glynhill Hotel. Every member of staff we came in contact with were very helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Our room was spotless and the swimming pool and changing rooms were also very clean. The food we had in the restaurant was amazing as well as the breakfast. We would definitely recommend it here and will definitely be staying again when we visit our daughter & son in law.

Second stay here. Yes it is a but dated and needs some updating in places but it is clean with free parking and lovely staff.
The bed was comfy and there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There is a couple of shops nearby and a Chinese all you can eat buffet restaurant just a few minutes walk away. You can also eat at the hotel.
We caught the train in to see Glasgow one of the days it is only one stop to Glasgow Central Station.
We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area. Another bonus is that it is close to the airport.

Great hotel , beautiful decor , booked a club king and once we got it after being put in what I think was a double , was well worth the money , good deep baths , only thing I would say is if you are on the front of the building the road is busy all night , we were told this and asked if this was ok , we didn’t mind but if your like peace and quiet ask for a back room

Staff were amazing! Friendly, helpful and courteous. The pool and sauna were spotless and very nice touch.

The room I was in had some damage and needed some repairs and updates. They did, however, make a small, quick repair after I reported it whilst I was staying there.

All in all, a great place to stay a few days.

A bit of a disagreement as we had booked in for a 2night stay between Christmas & New Year with our 2 dogs
On check-in we had paid for the room in advance so just had the £40 to pay for the dogs @ £10/dog/night, which happy to pay for but then they wanted a swipe of a credit card to put on file. I wasn’t happy with this as we had already paid & didn’t want an open tab. I was told it was hotel policy, but seemed to be an extra condition we hadn’t been told about when booking. When asked for a copy of this policy, it wasn’t available. After speaking to a manager, they let it go this time but I would need to file one next time, something I won’t bother about. But this felt like an extra requirement and extra data being stored so I felt excessive to gdpr requirements
Anyway, we had a king room on the 2nd floor, tried the lift once, 2 person sized lift, easier to walk up the stairs.
Condition of the hotel, the entrance was really nice and welcoming, but thereafter the place gave the air of being tired and if this is 4 star, it’s gripping on just about
The room was ok, strange setup with the glass wall to the shower/ bathroom area, lights were strange, limited towels. At night the spotlights from outside shine through the angled roof window.
Outside there was a small grass area for the dogs, but messy & could do with a dog bin as others hadn’t tided up.
Gave the impression it was punching above its ability
We saw the restaurant menu, but very pricey

Not too bad however, as a suggestion. Customers don't need to know that the kitchen have food ready to be collected by waiters. The constant bell ring similar to a door bell was horrendous. Pleas find a more discreet method of advising food is ready for collection.

The hotel is great! Staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff are impeccable! Kudos to management because they run a well oiled machine. The food is amazing. My compliments to the chef! The only thing we didn’t care for were the glass walls around the bathroom. Even with traveling with my husband, I’d still like a little privacy in the bathroom. It made our 2 night stay a little uncomfortable. Zero privacy using the toilet. Everything else was wonderful!!

Pros: lovely staff, great location, nice reception, restaurant and the bar area.
Cons: the room itself was a bit shabby and needed a lot of upgrades. We stayed in a family room, it was of a decent size, but the beds were very uncomfortable - we could all feel the springs in the mattresses. The pillows were flat and rock solid - again, our necks were sore and we spent two nights at the hotel. None of us got a good night's sleep. The furniture itself was bashed - the wood on the coffee table and on the desk was chipped, and in the bathroom the bin was all rusty at the bottom and the enamel in the bath was chipped too.
We will not be coming back.

Main reception area, bar & restaurant were lovely. Hotel was spotless. Staff were all very nice but the thing that let the hotel down were the rooms definitely not 4star & the noise on the Saturday night was really loud shouting & doors banging till 3am didn’t make for a very relaxing stay

Very cold hotel, with windows that won't shut in the corridors, and radiators that don't work in the bedrooms. Staff tried their best but we both ended up with a chill staying here which ruined our onward holiday. On the plus side, breakfast was great, loads of variety and large servings, and the staff were lovely. Maybe because we're from the South of England we found it too cold but it wasn't cheap to stay here!

The room was comfortable. Good bed and great bath. But I felt like I was living in a cement box, surrounded by dark grey walls. On check in, I was handed the key, signed a form, and was told nothing else. I wasn’t told about the pool, the breakfast times, etc, which was really weird. Otherwise, a good location for my hospital appointments and shopping centres.

Room 128 must be near a generator kept awake all night with it clicking on and off worst sleep in a hotel stay ever.

stairwell at room the carpet was soaking wet with a bucket catching dripping water should have been closed off, room needs upgraded, small and very dark even with all the lights on, no lift was there with an elderly parent struggled getting up the stairs.

Drink prices was extortionate, nice breakfast in the morning only positive.

Pool closed due to maintenance works dueing our stay.

Would not return.

One little thing I would say that in our room there was a full length mirror which was great but no mirror near a point to use a hairdryer.

Lovely venue, just felt majorly understaffed

Had a pleasant stay, rooms were comfortable ( a little dusty) check in could be quicker. We were already in a lengthy queue ( this was around 4.30pm) 15 minutes later a tour bus turned up and a representative from the bus jumped the queue and they had to start getting 20+ keys together. I do think they should have joined the queue like the rest of us or have more staff members. We were at a wedding and the bar staff was thin on the ground serving next door as well as us so it was a very slow service. Overall it's a lovely hotel and staff were lovely just seem majorly understaffed.

We stayed for two nights. Our room was at the back of the hotel with a view of the staff smoking area when we opened the windows the couple of inches that safety permitted. Unfortunately, opening the windows allowed more of the noise of whatever electrical item was running constantly outside. The room itself was small but comfortable and it was spotlessly clean. We didn’t get chance go sample breakfast as I was reluctant to d so pend an extra £26 per night for the privilege. I recently stayed in central Brisbane and paid less per night for an apartment room that was huge in comparison!

Food was expensive. The facilities were excellent but I went for a sauna and when I came out to have a swim the staff were cleaning the pool and I had to wait 15 mins - thought this could have been done out of hours. Room was hot, very noisy with children running up and down the corridor and room upstairs and being loud in the middle of the night. Walls were paper-thin. Shower was hard to operate and water flow was hardly existence - in fact my partner gave up and couldn’t shower. The bath in the shower was slippery. Table in room superfluous, you could hardly access tea and coffee and cupboard. Very hot at night.

I was at the hotel a few years ago and enjoied it , when we stayed we were disapointed that the jacuzzi had been taken away and the sauna out of service, which really only left the pool and steam room accessible. It seems to have gone downhill since my last visit

Not as good as the reviews make you believe.

The first room i was given had brown water coming out of the hot water taps. When i went down to reception they explained there was some maintanence issue and that if i went back and ran the taps for 15 mins or so then it would sort it self out. I went back to the room and ran the taps but this did not resolve the brown water issue. I went down to reception again and they said it was a known issue and that it should resolve itself shortly. I asked if the water was safe to use and the receptionist said they didn't know as they had not showered in brown water before.

I asked to change rooms and reluctantly they moved me to another room. The second room water was ok although was a different room with no bath and overlooked someones house.

This hotel is dated, the meal we had at the restuarant was overpriced and not to a high standard. I ordered some bread with our meal and asked what type of bread would it be (I wanted some nice fresh rustic style bread) the waiter said it was nice fresh bread. What turned up was standard sliced bread. The butter with it was little pats of congealed butter that didn't spread. Must have been heated up and cooled 100's of times as was in edible.

I used the spa in the morning which was fine but the steam room was not hot and the changing rooms feel very dated.

The breakfast was good and they had a good selection.

Overall I felt let down by the hotel and the service.

Very dated hotel with cramped rooms.

Function room has very loud functions until early hours which can be heard in the rooms.

Complained to staff as noise was keeping us awake, with the only resolution offered being they’ll ask them to turn it down next week!

Paid £150 per night and only managed 1.5hrs sleep.

Absolutely exceeded expectations!

Even though this is technically a 4-star hotel, it more than deserves 5 stars in my book. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - special shoutout to Kerry for going above and beyond!

The breakfast was a highlight, with a great variety and some excellent vegan options (which can be hard to find). The wellness facilities were top-notch too - the swimming pool, sauna, and steam room made for a relaxing and refreshing stay.

If I'm ever back in the area, I’ll definitely be staying here again. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

My room was too hot because it overlooked a bricked yard of fans and generators. I found 2 dirty towels behind the bathroom door and a toe nail on the floor.
It was noisy and the fire alarm went off at 2am because everyone running around.
When I asked for a late checkout they had the cheek to try and charge £10 for an hour while being rude and non helpful. I paid a lot for that tiny hot room and won’t be going back.

The only reason I didn't mark full stars was the front desk tried to cheat us out of the room we paid for. Gave a room well below what was reserved and tried to rename a king bed room a \"petite king\" so he could pass off a double bed room as a king! Nope, not having it. Called him out, stood my ground, and got the king room we paid for. Take a picture of the room you chose to reserved before reserving so you know and can show exactly what you paid for. Other than that the restaurant and bar staff was amazing!!
Also very close to airport so I recommend staying here the night before your flight to make it easier.

I booked this hotel I'm chose the superior king size room, it reportedly had toiletries and looked a very nice room on your website.

There was a few things I picked up that I did not like, the bed was very hard and the pillows we're awful not comfy at all.

I've taken a picture of the remote control which is absolutely disgusting.

One of the windows opened what did not stay open

I called reception to make sure that the room they are delicated me was the room that I booked as I paid quite a lot of money for this room

The only nice thing ican say really about this hotel was the breakfast was brilliant and the restaurant food was really nice but apart from this I won't be booking this hotel again and I'm quite disappointed in hotels.com for the star rating it has

I really like this hotel but over my last 3-4 stays i have noticed the rooms are shiwing wear and in need of refurbishment, painting, finishing off etc. The parking abd breakfast is excellent. Lovely leasure facilities. My biggest issue was my stay on 19th of June where I paid £148 for one night granted not direct but still an absolute premium for a pretty standard room simply not worth the price. Poor considering i have stayed many times throughout the year and paid an average of £90-£100.

Room 142 - Glynhill Hotel

Room 142 is small. It was very cramped with two twin beds, a table, armchair and desk chair. I had to move the table and chair to get into the hanging closet, then I had to move than all back again to get seated at the desk to do some work. A room this size should only have one bed, a single or perhaps a double. Fortunately, I was traveling alone on this occasion, but if my wife had been with me we would have been very cramped in that small room. Having said all that.... the breakfast was outstanding and definitely worth the extra cost.
