When I asked about leaving a gratuity on the card payment they advised it will take some time for them to see any of it. Is that correct?

I think one star is too much. When you first walk in the reception smelt like sewage. Then you go to the hotel room and find hole in lamp shade a horrible stain on the wall. Then you sleep the night and it's the worse mattress ever you feel the springs and everything I'm 27 years old I never had my bad hurt in that mattress. I never had to cut my holiday short before but I had to leave the night before on Sunday night and do the 5hr drive instead of doing 1 more night. I would like my 1 night refund.

The room was in decent condition and clean but a little dated. The staff in reception were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast started at 8 because it was a Saturday and we went down around 8:20am and there was hardly any food left. I had to ask when there would be more food put out. The staff were friendly when I asked but didn’t look very approachable. I have stayed here before and not had this experience so I’m hoping it was a one off.

Room was clean but curtain was coming off rail. It held together during my stay. Bathroom a bit cramped. Provisions in room were good. Good to have bar and restaurant in house. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. I phoned to extend my stay but got through to an admin centre which was much less helpful. In fact it was obstructive and no use at all. Happy to stay there again, easy to reach, comfortable and friendly inhouse.

A few small problems with the room- temperamental door lock, shower temperature unstable and sometimes very hot, basin slow to drain. Hotel seems generally run down. Breakfast disappointing as used to be good in Leonardo hotels. Now budget ingredients. Coffee almost undrinkable, orange juice watery, pastries stale, muesli lacking in fruit and nuts, sausages tasteless. Will be avoiding this hotel in future as there are better hotels in Glasgow for the same price.

-one of the glass had a very nice brown lip shaped dirt on it..
-the door we have to fight every time for 2-3 minutes to open( 1 key wasnt working at all)
-the hand wash sink was getting blocked when we tried to use it
- from the shower tap one part was missing, making the water shutting another 5-10 minutes battle.
- the top of the iceberg was when they closed the water without any notification during the day. i called them on my phone( cause there is no phone in the room but i should call for room service on that)the reception said:a yes sorry about it 30 minutes and it will come back. 1,5 hrs later we left to rather spend the night at our friends where we can use the washroom..

There was no water when we arrived. We were not told that when we checked in. We were unable to wash or use the toilet after a 4 1/2 hour car journey. When I called the desk they said it should be back on “some time”. We had plans to meet friends in the city and had to go out without being able to freshen up. When we returned at 10pm the smell of blocked drains in the property was terrible, it smelt throughout the hotel. I was unable to sleep all night as the smell of drains in my room was making me feel sick and gave me a sore head. I would not recommend staying here.

Room allocated was nect to/behind the lift. Definitely needs better soundproofing. Was awoken from 6am by constant lift noises. Breakfast was ok but not a scottush breakfast as you would expect. Rooms are clean enough but good do with renovation. Peeling paint in bathroom. Fairly cold autumn and room was hot with limited opening window. We stayed here in the dummer and thought it was the weather then but obviously not. Carpark barrier not eorkimg do a loy of cars parked for hospital nect doir for free, rather than just hotel guests. Be wary of booking again.

Staff welcoming, room very basic and decor very dated and tired looking. The bed again old and worn but did manage to sleep. Shower was very cold in the morning although there was hot water coming through the bath tap but on switching to the shower, it ran cold. Reported to reception on checkout.

We found our stay acceptable but regrettably the accessible room I had stated a preference for was not available, hence we were accommodated on the fourth floor. The lift was available and fine going up, however it was not so reliable going down. There was a long wait for it arriving which was not easy for my husband whose poor mobility makes it difficult standing, and he had a bit of a walk to our room.
The staff were helpful, and the young man who served us in the restaurant was very kind and mannerly.

Our room 416 was not clean. The bathroom was dirty-the walls and door especially. The curtains and chairs in the room were stained and dirty. The walls are paper thin so you could hwar everything and the lifts never worked properly. Not as good as the reviews say.

Overpriced, dirty and far from a true 3-star hotel

At check-in we were assigned a room with torn curtains and a blocked toilet. After reporting this, we were moved to another room next door, but unfortunately the conditions were just as bad – and still not the room standard we had originally booked. The carpet was stained, the window frames showed black mold, the windows were dirty, the furniture was chipped, the mirrors smeared, and the bedding slipped off constantly. There was also a gap of about 2 cm under the door, and even the shower curtain was stained.

The staff seemed stressed and not particularly service-oriented. Breakfast was poor – greasy, overly sweet, and of questionable quality. The cold counter for yogurt, cheese, butter and fruit had no lighting, and several items already tasted spoiled. We asked to cancel the second breakfast but were refused.

We were relieved not to have suffered food poisoning and even more relieved to check out of this hotel. This so-called three-star property is overpriced, does not deliver the promised standard, and is not recommended at all – especially not for anyone who values cleanliness, style, and proper service.

Shower/bath didn't have hot water, so had to report it and it was fixed. Mattress was a bit lumpy, but sheets and pillows fine. Hotels are always too hot and noisy for me (noises from other rooms, outside noises especially early morning deliveries, but i accept you can't much control that). A wee biscuit with thr teas/coffees in rooms would have been nice.

The staff really are the star of the Leonardo West End – so warm and helpful throughout our stay. We’d originally booked a double and single, but the first room we got was definitely not at its best (looked like the hoover had skipped it). To be fair, they moved us straight away and the second room was miles better.

The room itself was fine for a base but definitely showing its age – quite outdated and a bit dusty if you looked in the corners. The bathroom was mid at best: no ventilation so it got stuffy fast, which didn’t help the overall tired feel of the place.

We’d also asked for a baby cot – they did provide one, but the base was wrong so our little one bunked in with us for most of the trip. Not a disaster, but if you’re travelling with a baby I’d say bring your own just in case.

Breakfast though? Absolutely spot on – loads of choice, solid 10/10. We had dinner in the restaurant one night too; food was lovely, but the bill felt a little steep for what it was.

Location-wise, plenty of parking and the bus stop across the road makes it really handy for nipping into the city centre.

All in all, I’d call it an above-average stay – brilliant staff, great breakfast, but the rooms themselves could do with some TLC.

This hotel is in need of upgrading accross all areas. Including some reception staff who like to swear. The hotel gets cleaned well but is still dirty looking due to needing upgraded. The mattresses have big brown stains on them and they dont even cover it with a proper sheet. They cleaned our room but did not hoover and did not clean toilet pan maybe because of no toilet brush. The breakfast is adequate but not exciting. The noise from the service station deleviries woke me up the 2 days i was there. We checked out 1 day early due to all above.

Started badly as showed reception guy that I was platinum who said bookings/hotel.com hadn’t informed them. No upgrade, voucher for drinks etc at the bar or anything offered or given ( most places give you something ) had to pay for parking too which when I asked the other receptionist about platinum she did tell thr guy don’t charge but sadly he had already taken money from credit card .
Not sure if anyone here or from there will refund this .
Room was very dated, work carpet in parts , rusty light rims , very cheap watery shower gel, dirty bathroom wall , no grout in floor tiles which were dirty , blocked filthy xpelair fan , cracked / peeling paint on bathroom ceiling . Stayed in their sister hotel in cc and 10 times better , cleaner , modern etc .

The pictures on the Expedia listing were a bit misleading, as they primarily focus on the lobby and bar which are actually quite nice and seemed remodeled recently. The actual suite itself had chips out of the trim work, peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, dirty/black stains on shower tile grout, gouges out of the drywall, splatters of unknown material on the walls and lampshades, and very uncomfortable beds. Only one lift worked, which was occasionally problematic, and lack of power outlets near the nightstands was inconvenient. The shower controls also seemed inconsistent and lacking logic; after two days, we still don’t know which knob actually controls temperature and where the water comes out. In summary, the price paid for the room is extremely indicative of the condition - if an affordable and safe hotel is needed, it does the job.

Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge; a few roads were closed which didn’t show up on our map. When we finally arrived check in was very smooth. The room was a little dated but otherwise fine. The beds/bedding were extremely comfortable. The room was a little warm and the only way to cool down was to open a noisy window. Mind that there is a sort of pond near by and birds LOVE to make noise in the early morning. The breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious with a good variety of items.

Location is wonderful.
Close to Hyndland station, plenty cafes on Hyndland Road near by, little M&S in front of the hotel.
Hotel stands in the Gartnavel Hospital ground but the hospital ground is great with many walking paths and green space.
Car park is large enough, staff attaitive.
Downside is the hotel is slightly old, the corridor flooring makes noise, bathroom fitting little tired looking. But everything else is comfortable enough.

Stayed at this property before and was given a room next to the lift which was extremely noisy. Mentioned this at check in and was assured we had a different room. Room was clean but small. However it was particularly warm even though the temperatures were fairly average for august, dread to think what it would be like during a heatwave. The window only opened slightly and if the blackout curtains were closed no fresh air got through anyway. A fan was provided but with only plugs near the tv this meant it was a fair way from the bed making sleeping uncomfortable. Onto the plugs issue.. the hotel hairdryer is wired in through a desk draw with minimal cable. This meant there was no way to see in either the room mirror or the bathroom mirror, whilst using. I had taken my own hairdryer but the problem was still bad due to the lack of electric outlets. Overall although the room was clean it was very small and needs aircon or further plug sockets for use of provided fans.

The lobby was ok. After that it’s downhill. The rooms have sticky carpet, there’s no AC. There were moths in the room on arrival.

We were told there’s no rooms available to change to. It’s popular but with road workers - honestly, they deserve better if that’s what the companies provided them with.

Don’t stay here unless if you want to stay awake with the sound of seagulls or the thoughts of bugs and how grimy the whole place was.

The photos do not match the facility. The rooms are worn, dank, and in need of a refresh. The walls and carpet of the halls were dirty and showed signs of poor attempts at repair. It was just sad and not inviting. While the lobby was inviting and in better shape than the rest of the place, it still fell short of the picture-perfect image. I kinda felt catfished.

The hotel does NOT have laundry service as advertised. The wifi is spotty at best. The photos make the hotel seem much more updated than it truly is. The hallways smell musty. We had several lights in our room that were burnt out. We stayed for three nights, and the hotel's fire alarms went off every single day we stayed - twice during the nights between 10:30-11:30pm.

Breakfast poor as well only offering black coffee or Tea.
Might just be me but there was a bad smell throughout the hotel that wasn't pleasant.

Good location but very tired property

We stayed here for a wedding in the local area. Staff were great, friendly & helpful and breakfast was ok. However the hotel was very tired, we had 4 towels over our stay and all were dirty. Shower had broke to show hot/ cold amd when got it to temperature it suddenly went scalding hot. Its a great location for the west end but needs an update.

Terrible value for money, wallpaper hanging off the wall 2 single beds joined together terribly with no mattress topper to make it comfy and stop you sinking into the middle of the 2 would be £40 a night at best for that and we paid 102 with discount thankfully

Room good size. There was a party booked out so music was very loud until midnight. We werent aware of this at book in.
