Really great location near the university and museum. A little far (30 min) walk to city center which we didn't mind.

The bed was uncomfortable, too hard and dipped which really bad for a restful sleep. The guest house is underground with windows so it's okay but it does feel like a basement. Not a bad thing, it's pretty quiet but good for expectations!

Harry was our forst point of contact when we arrived earlier tjan pur 3pm check in.
He accompanied us soo well amd his hospitality skills are a credit to his team. Who also were amazing 👏 from check out to breakfast staff also.
Tje breakfast blew me a way *I'm a chef*
They made our stay so welcoming.
From special arrangements for valentines aswel as continuing to be hospitabale after check out also by allowing us to leave our bags while we explored the local attractions.
They were very knowledgeable.
We will definitely be back in the future.

The guy on reception wasn’t the chattiest but he sound full of a cold and I was only staying one night so didn’t cause me any inconvenience. Would definitely recommend as a nice place to stay for a city break or stop over.

The lift needs maintenance. The beds are atrocious. Every spring jabs into you all night long. Have they not changed the mattresses since turn of the century? Originally we were placed in a basement room that was hot, stuffy and claustrophobic, all for the price of $600 Canadian a night. The place was truly abominable, we had to move to another hotel after one night since we couldn’t stand how noisy and hot and unpleasant it was. Some mention the fabulous breakfast, the only thing that was palatable was the coffee and yoghurt with some frozen fruit on top, which they have a very limited supply and ran out fast. Save your cash, run far away and stay anywhere else, a park bench perhaps??

Excellent stay

Set in a prominent position, on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, this lovely guest house is a wonderful place. Part of the Argyll Hotel, we had to check in to the main hotel, across the road, before returning to the guest house. The room is small, but is perfectly sizeable to get your head down. Our room (room 1) had a double bed, body length mirror, a desk / dressing table, TV and two bedside tables. The desk had a kettle, two cups and teaspoons, and plenty of coffee, tea, sugar and milk available. There was also a hairdryer, although it was annoying to use because you have to keep your finger on the button for it to be on. The bathroom consisted of a sink with light-up mirror, toilet and a shower over a lovely bath. The shower had good pressure, and there was shower gel provided, mounted on the wall. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I recommend Argyll Guest House highly.

Need to update your information on here, including photos and the fact you don’t actually offer parking vouchers as stated. We ended up having to leave ASAP the next morning to avoid the pricey on street parking prices. Free at the weekend, but we were staying on a Sunday night so not free the next morning - either had to move the car somewhere first thing or just get up and leave.

We were in quite a dingey room that didn’t look like the photos online. Felt like we were walking into a block of flats. No aircon in the room, quite dusty and dated. Just a fob scanner on the door - no staff in our building and we were the first room as you come in so was a bit unnerving if people were to walk in off the street.

We only stayed here as we needed a room last minute that wasn’t ridiculously overpriced. Probably wouldn’t stay again.

I was disappointed at the service on check in/check out. Minimal conversation and poor customer service from the individual checking us in and out. Very disappointed when booking a double room to be given a small double bed. Staff should explain better where to locate your room. I would like to see a more personable, friendly and welcoming experience, with more transparency and clarity on what you are being provided.

Our room was apparently next to the bar and very loud one night. The showers in both rooms, though seemingly renovated already had black mold growing on them.

Pleasant stay - nice location

An older style guest house, opposite the affiliated Argyll Hotel (where you have to go to check in).

Our room was quite a reasonable size and comfortable, although we had to go downstairs one level and then back upstairs again, so for people with limited mobility our room would not be a good choice.

The check in was friendly and quick, the room was quite clean and the location is good, close to Kelvingrove Museum and Park, and with plenty of pubs and restaurants around.

If coming by train it is a bit of a walk from Glasgow Central, otherwise about 20 minutes from Kelvinbridge Subway station.

Lovely over night stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Extremely comfy bed, and very clean. Was concerned it would be noisy with the hotel right on Sauchiehall Street but it wasn't. We had the perfect peaceful sleep. Meal in the hotel was vegan, something we hadn't experienced before but was delicious, highly recommend. The full scottish buffet breakfast was very tasty too. We were attending a concert at the bandstand, the hotel was just a few minutes walk away, perfect location. We will be back.

Good place to stay, but not if you need to park

The Hotel was decent enough but lists as parking available nearby for £4 a day. This is misleading as I enquired when I arrived. I was told to use on-street parking.

The hotel is located in a restricted parking zone, pay and display parking is available on street but costs 80p for every 15 minutes with a 3 hour max stay. So that’s £9.60 for the 3 hours.

Pay and display is in force from 8am to 6pm so if you’re arriving late and leaving early it’s fine. I was only there for one night so it wasn’t too bad but if you’re staying longer and need to park then you’re probably better off finding somewhere else.

The place itself was very nice, clean, the staff were great and the breakfast was pretty good although the bed was a little hard for my liking. I would definitely stay here again, but only if I didn’t need to park.

My son and I stayed over for the night whilst attending a concert at the Hydro. The guest house was clean, tidy and comfortable. The location is about 10 to 15 minute walk to The Hydro and is very close to lots of great bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was included and was a well stocked buffet (hot and cold options) and some of the best coffee I have tasted in a hotel.

Overall a very pleasant stay and great value for money. My one gripe is that the person on reception told us there is no option of discounted parking despite the listing claiming there were discounts available (£4 per day).

The room and bathroom were clean, the location of the room was not great, we were on the ground floor of the property accross the road, we could hear the creaking of the floor above, late into the night and early in the morning, which kept me awake. I had my daughter with me and the noise of the pub accross the road in the evening was distracting. The bed was ok but not the comfiest. The location was excellent.
The ladies at breakfast were lovely and friendly, and the food OK. In all honesty not the best place ive been but also not the worst, may stay again if the room were cheaper.

Triple Room Stay

Stayed in the triple bed room. Room was clean. Shower was good and even though it faced the main road it was fairly quiet during the night. Kettle was nice and clean. Wifi was good.

Car parking is a bit of challenge. There's no parking provided by the hotel so all parking is on the road so just had to drive round till I found a spot. Parking is free from 6pm - 8am but hotel provided discount tickets which was useful during the day.

Breakfast was just ok. Would have preferred more options in for the hot breakfast. Staff was courteous.

From our late arrival, welcome excellent, smiling member of staff made us feel special. The room was absolutely spotless (which given my nervousness since this was my first proper outing due to Covid restrictions over the last couple of years). The ambience of the fittings did not disappoint from those seen on the website. The dining room is across the road from the Guest House but this did not detract from our experience. Again very clean, once again very friendly staff and food satisfactory. Thank you everyone at Argyll you are all very special (commendation to the room cleaning team who are a credit to your profession). Parking is the only challenge however when I checked with the team prior to arrival I understood how to manage parking if a space was available. I am intending to use the guest house again soon for a family wedding. Keep up the good work. God bless

Great stay.

I was generally very pleased with this hotel. I had booked a twin and a double room, and for some reason the hotel thought it was 2 double rooms, but they did their best to try and find a solution and were able to allocate a twin room for the second night.
The hotel was well situated, and we were able to use the free on site car parking. The staff were all very pleasant. There was some street noise, which is inevitable given the location.
I would happily stay here again.

Lovely wee hotel.

Lovely wee hotel, spotless room, nice decor, friendly staff. Only negative was the pillows were really hard & uncomfortable. Would definitely stay here again, great value for money.

The room was spotlessly clean, it was a bit cramped and the view out onto the back yard with overflowing dustbins was not a pleasant to look at. The walls are a bit thin and you can hear everything that is going on in the other rooms, overall quite a pleasurable stay and would stay there again.
