The grounds and the hotel were absolutely beautiful! Easy to walk to the train to get to the city center (if you use the train be aware of the schedule, the trains are NOT often). The bathroom and a shower were marvelous after a week of hiking on the Isle of Skye. The mattress was only complaint. Felt old and there are people divots on both sides of the bed.

The grounds and hotel were lovely, we had great view of the city from our windows. The hotel staff was wonderful and very helpful. We had dinner on site and drinks at the bar, everything was excellent. The room was very clean and spacious. We would definitely stay here again if we ever find our way back to Glasgow.

We were in room 23 and can confidently say that rooms 21 to 23 are not worth booking. They are not located in the main castle building, and it is clear they were likely never intended to be guest rooms.
•Ventilation: No air conditioning (which we understand, as it is not the norm in Europe), but also no proper ventilation. The air was extremely stuffy when we arrived.
•Amenities: Outdated and sparse. No kettle, no tea. The cot provided for our 9 month old was essentially cardboard and completely uncomfortable, forcing her to sleep in our bed.
•Bed quality: Extremely uncomfortable and uneven on both sides, resulting in a poor night’s sleep.
•Location: These rooms face a parking lot, so they get little to no natural light and feel uninviting.
To make matters worse, the photos on Expedia did not match the type of room we received. For a hotel advertised as four star, this was a real disappointment. Had we known, we would never have booked here. Thankfully, it was only for one night.

We had an amazing couple nights’ stay at the Sherbrooke. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at least once during our stay and every meal was deliciously prepared with sizable portions. The beef and ale pie was more than enough for both of us. The rooms are aged, but quite comfortable with a homey feel. The entire place is quite lovely and quaint. They took care in decorating for Christmas and really made for a wonderful stay. We would love to come back and stay again.

The staff was amazing, helpful, friendly, and responsive. However our room was dirty, there were stains/dirt on the sheets, comforter, and pillows. The building is quite old and the inside needs an update. All the furniture and carpets look old and over worn/used.

The hotel was beautiful, but it’s in a much more urban environment than the photos will lead you to believe. The grassy area of the grounds is smaller than a tennis court. They also had a charity ball the night we were there in an event space directly below our room, and the music kept us up well past midnight. Not particularly romantic as a result.

We opted not to eat there, but all meals could be had on site, along with a bar and sitting area. The space was large and beautiful, as was our room. TV connection was absolutely terrible, but not a deal breaker. Parking was tight, but also manageable. Out back behind the building was a little dirty and smelly, but to be expected by any business. Overall amazing stay, and would stay again in the future.

This was an interesting accommodation located in a really nice neighborhood in Glasgow. The room was comfortable and clean, but the furniture was extremely dated and worn for a hotel in this price range. They need to replace the night stands an include charging ports on or near them. Also, there's no elevator. In fairness the staff member did offer to help carry a bag or two up the stairs. Staff was very friendly and professional.

The main castle is beautiful from the outside but I only saw the inside as far as the reception desk because our room was a “Garden “ room which was outside the castle, across parking and into the basement of another building completely. It was absolutely nothing special and I would have booked elsewhere had I known. So if you want to stay in the castle I recommend calling them directly to confirm. I fault the property owners for their unclear and frankly slightly sneaky advertising. It was a huge disappointment. I know I’m not the first to feel this way.

Rooms described and priced as 'executive', but really no better than a superior double. Room was soulless - empty bookcases, nowhere to sit and drink coffee with partner (as you would expect in an executive room) and a view of the air con units and conservatory roof. No bottled water. Capsules for the nespresso were red and blue - no explanation as to what these contained. In huge bathroom, no bath and toilet in worst position ever. Slow draining sink and no over mirror light. As you check in you're told to go up the stairs and through the glass door - and room 9 is dead ahead. So everyone coming upstairs is banging that door, heavy footing past your room and laughing and shouting to each other goodnight! And ofc in the morning from 6am it's the reverse - loud and no privacy :( Add to this the odd job guy scraping window paint outside your room and waving at you ? not impressed. Damp patches on room ceiling, exterior shower grout black. Pillows like bricks, but soft available in wardrobe. Staff and food amazing, but not worth money paid - expected so much more from 'executive room'.

If you have limited mobility, this is not the place for you. The hotel sits on a hill with very steep steps to the streets and there’s no lifts to rooms.

Very disappointed booked to stay in a castle, however the room we were given was in the dungeons. You could smell the damp as soon as you walked in, the staff didn't seem to be bothered just said will let management know. The castle its self looked nice, ruined the end of a nice trip to Scotland.
