People milling around the parking lot. Weed smell. Trashy outside. Inside is not clean and in poor condition. People just hanging out everywhere. Room was dirty, smelled like cigarrette smoke, very warm. Air conditioner did not work.

Hall & room smelled like smoke & there was a burn mark on the nightstand, 1 smoke detector was covered in packaging tape, & another hung from the wall.

Constant drip from the shower, increased in frequency & volume each night of my stay. Had to purchase shower flip flops to dare step into the bathtub due to the growing mound of mold/mildew/lime/calcium in the tub drain that exploded around the drain was disturbing. The sink was missing the stopper & it had a toothpaste cap stuck down it. The counter had rust stains. The sink cupboard was coming apart at the bottom.

Surfaces of the desk, coffee table, dresser, and kitchen counter had residue left behind. The ceiling had strings of dust hanging down. The walls in the kitchen had food gunk scattered on them.

I believe the towels & sheets were washed, but there were some visible stains and some stuck hairs that could only be described as the pubic variety.

One of the lamps had a missing light bulb. The headboard and nightstand was decorated with a really snazzy peeling off bumper sticker of some sort. There was something stuffed into the peephole so one could not look out if needed.

The coffee table looked like it would break. The couch was not soft with streaks of unknown gross substance on it. Next to the couch, ingrained in the carpet, a giant stain that looked like dried blue vomit.

The staff was unhelpful claiming she was new, the first room they sent us to didnt open with key, so she sent us to a different room which smelled like paint thinner so bad we couldn't breath. When we went to talk to front desk another guest cornered and threatened my mother and said nasty obscene things to her then when she said get away she was going to call the police he called her nasty names. The person working the desk showed no concern and wasnt willing to rectify things, so we refused to stay in a place unsafe. And left immediately.

Staff was super friendly, but the lobby definitely smelled like weed as well as the halls. The hall also smelled like animal urine. I understand this hotel is an extended stay location and the smell may have been coming from a room where some one may live with their animals. The room its self was ok, besides the questionable blood stain on the pillow... Floors were sticky but I think that was due to having too much soap in mop water as the room was clean. You get what you pay for here. The light in the bathroom flickered ALOT. I don’t believe I will be staying here again or if I recommend this location to anyone if the conditions stay the same.

Upon arrival reservation I requested a non smoking room. The room I was giving was caked in cigarette residue to the point that everything was yellowed and musty. They were very accommodating switching my rooms. But the new room didn’t have a tv remote, the sheets were stained, there were no cups or utensils as advertised for an extended stay. The stove was rusted. I had no intention of using it, just pointing out that everything was outdated. I went to dry my hair in the morning (assuming extended stay had a hair dryer because regular hotels do too.) it did have a hair dryer but when I went to plug it in, the plug piece retracted into the plug and rattled around like they had been broken off. Fire hazard. I called the front desk 6 times from the room with no response, and 3 time from my cell to the front desk, no response. When I did eventually get ahold of someone, she was very nice and said she’d check to see if they had another hairdryer around but probably not. Never heard back. I waited around to check out at the desk for 30 mins with no way of contacting anyone to check out and eventually just had to leave.
I didn’t expect much, and I just wanted a bed for the night. But I expected what the extended stay advertised as bare minimum.

The lady at the front desk was rude. Then the next day, we had made arrangements with a different front desk clerk, then we were treated terribly by yet another front desk clerk and a manager, whom was on the phone. There was obviously no communication between the 3 and we were treated like we were liars and were threatened with cops after being talked down to. Wev stayed at this hotel several times over several months, but have not been back since this happened.

My rrom was clean and comfortable. I was able to get everything additional I needed, plates, silverware, etc. The hotel was clean and had a great atmosphere to it, again, very comfortable and inviting. The best part of my stay, though, was Ms Faye, at the front desk. Shes an absolute \"Jill of all Trades\". I saw her at the front desk. around the clock on all 3 shifts, as well as doing housekeeping and making sure all the rooms were kn order. I saw her knocking on guests doors to see if they needed anything and not just on one day, almost every time I stayed. This is the only hitel I stay at and I stay 4-5 days a week. Its great!

Was supposed to stay there with family to meet up for local event. Room and hotel were filthy. Left and had to pay to stay somewhere else for both nighrs. It was awful!! There was trash still under bed from previous occupants and sheets were dirty.

The refrigerator didn't work and my food spoiled. I had to fight to get them to change my room and than I was woken up at midnight asking who put me in the room and why. I got woken up again at 6am asking the same questions. It was a horrible experience. Both rooms were in bad condition, stains on the carpet, bathtub needing repair, ripped chairs, etc.

Front desk said we had to see if we liked the room before we got the keys. They walked us to a windowless room in the basement. The beds were jammed into the room and smeared with dirt. There were piles of garbage on the floor. It looked straight out of a crime documentary, and a fire code violation to boot.This is not a place for a family stay. We spent an hour and a half driving around to find an available room in a different hotel. There is no way I would stay in this hotel.

When I arrived at 7 pm with a confirmed reservation, I was informed that they could not provide me -- or anyone else -- with a room. Because no employees had shown up for work -- so no rooms were cleaned, no one could check in, no rooms could be provided. Fortunately, two GMs from other locations had just arrived, and they were able to book me a room at another location.

Our room had a GIANT stain in th middle of the floor that looked like someone had been murdered. The water in the room (sinks and shower) NEVER got warm. The door to pir room was extremely difficult to open to the poont we were concerned we would not be able to get out. We were informed there was breakfast in the morning, however, breakfast consisted of 2 different prepackaged muffins, one type of granola bar, hot water and coffee. Im general it looked like things were falling apart and not well maintained or even useful.

I'm requesting refund & Expedia needs to speak to Sam/front desk. Room was filthy/ dirty kleenex on bedside table; tub gross w/black dirt & mildew; trash on floor outside hallway.
Worst issue key wouldn't work after i went to get pkg from car. Went to desk 2times to get new card & still didn't work. Sam came w/override device & still couldn't get in! Called mgr & she gave info to unlock...Sam said he would make sure i coulf get in after 11pm but gave me no access card.
After this 50 min delay & looking around to see the roll away beds & filth; i gathered my belongings & went to desk & requested refund & advised i was leaving!
Sam advised i had to go thru Expedia to get refund
I'm requesting full refund immediately!

The location is excellent and price was good.
I’ve stayed here before and my room before (Rm 216) was very good.

At check-in there was a smell of Marijuana in the lobby. My room this time (Rm 320) was “worn” with visible damage to the kitchen cabinets and counter. There were nail polish stains in the bathroom tub and sink. The window curtains were of mismatched length, but still functional. The television screen was visibly dim making it hard to see detail in the daylight or with the lights on. The room was passable, but there were areas where food or dirt was missed by the cleaning staff. The room has a feel of being neglected.

Disappointed that I wasn't given the room I had actually booked on the Hotels.com site which showed a couch in the room. The guy at the front desk was very polite about trying to fix the problem but the manager wouldn't allow him to change any rooms without her permission. When she finally got back to him about an hour later she told me Hotels.com had overbooked the hotel and there was nothing she could do. She came across as rude and indifferent and offered no apologies In addition the room itself was in disrepair.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a note on the counter they be right back. I waited 15 mins and freely walked thru the entire hotel and all the floors looking for any staff to help me. Outside doors were propped open...not very secure. I had to use the after hrs phone to get someone to check me in.

No elevators and a lot of stairs for anyone with restricted mobility. No ice machine or premade ice tray in fridges. Pop in vending machine was $3.85 for a single can. Bkfst was granola bars, oatmeal packs and a cupcake they said was a chocolate muffin. Phone didnt work in room, drawer missing from dresser and stains on carpet and couch. Ending up sleeping in the leather recliner because bed and couch felt dirty and used my own blanket.

You'd be better off sleeping in your car.

The stay was a difficult one for several reasons.

The front desk staff were fairly friendly but clearly responsible for many things besides check-in and check-out, so they often were not available when needed (I waited in the lobby 45 minutes to get my suddenly-not-working key card fixed).

The room was in substandard condition—two holes in the walls (about an inch long each), toilet was dirty, and there weren’t any eating utensils in the kitchen. All of the appliances worked, but what good is it to heat up my dinner without a plate and utensils? I had reserved Extended Stay specifically for the kitchen, but it no utensils made it heat to use (and eat!). Also, no tissue dispenser in the bathroom; I used toilet paper to blow my runny nose. It’s a small thing, but it really showed the lack of service given for the price paid.

The hotel public areas were also not as clean as I’ve seen at other hotels, and I found a metal bracket and screw just lying in the hallway outside my room; I left it at the front desk concerned someone would step on it and hurt themselves.

Finally, the free breakfast was dry oatmeal, hot water, and granola bars. I’ve paid less to other hotels and gotten a hot breakfast. Overall, this was way below an “average” hotel experience for me, and I have traveled a lot! I’ve also stayed at other Extended Stay hotels and had a very good experience, so this time was doubly disappointing.

I won’t stay at this particular hotel again.

ESA: Dayton-south : 1st choice of hotels

We are really happy with this hotel. We are currently homeless and have stayed at quite a few hotels. We werent happy with most of them, either because of the cost or there were less than friendly people just hanging around outside the room and around the hotel, a few had cockroaches and weren't very clean and some had employees that were not friendly at all. ESA: Dayton - South was clean, quiet and relaxing, had all the amenities we need and the employees were welcoming, nice and more than helpful. This is our first choice of where to stay now.

Smelled so bad of smoke. I bought Fabreeze and sprayed every time I left. After 7 days it still smelled. The carpet was so dirty it came off on my slippers. No mattress cover - just a thin sheet. The property inside and out was dirty; I had to clean food residue off chairs, kitchen cabinets, and stove. The microwave ceiling and walls were full of food splatter. The linens were stained including towels and bath mat. There weren’t any mattress covers just sheets. We stayed four nights and didn’t see anyone cleaning on our floor till we were checking out. The back entrance was propped open as late as 10:00PM when we returned from visiting in the area. Some guests had put a stone in the doorway to prevent it closing. Inside the kitchen cabinets there were black stains or rings where food residue had not been cleaned and it looked like it may be moldy. In the bathroom the wall covering was peeling away where the wall met the ceiling and the ceiling and the ceiling appeared to be in the process of being patched.

Definitely an older hotel, outside 'security' doors did not close tight to lock, and if pulled shut - room key did not work well in opening them. Entered room, while I want to believe the bedding had 'clean' stains - it was dirty/stained none the less. In bathroom, there was a dirty towel left hanging on the back of the door. I did address issues with the gal at the front desk - and she did come & change the bedding right away. Employee was very friendly & accomodating, apologizing for the housekeeping staff. As I walked around the room barefoot, I also quickly realized the floor was also dirty. I did not say anything about that, just put socks or shoes on. Breakfast only consisted of a few pre-packaged items, not a 'real' breakfast. 😉
A more difficult issue to address - walls are not very well insulated. The room above us - decided to rearrange their whole room the first night. Very noisy as it felt like they stomped around the room and dragged furniture around. Thankfully - that noise did end around 11. Then - room across the hall from us, had a dog with them. That dog was obnoxious - barking anytime a door it heard something. Both nights, it woke us in the middle of the night.
We chose this hotel due to the low cost, as our regular choice locations were expensive - guessing due to graduations or area events.
Location was close to where we needed to be, price was more reasonable than the competitors. However - I definitlely would not rush to stay there again.

Showed up the property after a nine hour drive across state lines and was turned away due to overbooking. The front desk girl said she’s been turning people away all day, but somehow we were not notified at all.

Room door baseboard was broke and door did not close. You could gain access without a key and when told this to a manager nothing was done. There was cat litter from a previous stay still in the room and again nothing done.

So I don't want to be too harsh, but this is not worth $100 USD for a stay. I was desperate as I had pulled off the hiway in torrential rain, and bc of a world final color guard competition, all rooms around town were booked solid. It was my first clue. Although the room was probably as clean as it could be, it was a quick in and out for me. Hallways were dirty, strong odors from guests cooking, and a walk up made it difficult to 'enjoy' Photos show that the room really needs some TLC and just some logical thinking! The fridge is not even accessible as it opens the wrong way! Won't make an effort to stay here again, but managed to catch a bit of sleep. PS 'Breakfast' is instant oatmeal (no milk) packaged muffins and coffee with coffee mate only ...:(

Hotel was older under remodel. Nothing like the pictures. The only things offered for breakfast was coffee and granola bars. The morning clerk was miserable. She was not helpful at all.

They were short staffed, and you could not get clean towels, pillows etc. All handrails felt sticky and tacky I don't believe they are ever washed and sanitized. Also, the hallway on the floor I stayed on smelled like poop. .
