Staff was pleasant, outside of that this girl jump the fun and opened too soon after renovating every hallway and room had strong fumes from the fresh paint boxes with inventory left in hallways that made getting luggage cart through difficult and elevator was not accessible meeting getting luggage and pack and play up the stairs fun mind you we rented a suite but didn’t feel too sweet pool was closed but wasn’t notified before purchasing room the room itself wasn’t bad aside from the fumes but that’s the only passive thing I can say here

Very nice staff for my check in and check out. I was greated when I left and when I came back to the resort. The room felt roomy and clean. The hallway leading to my room was under construction. I think as a safety concern, they should have the hallway closed off and redirect people. I would have understood. The room was labeled as a garden view room. There was no garden, just a parking lot, dumpsters, job trailers and some grass. That all being said, I would still stay there again. was .

check in was delayed due to a gas leak, which happens during major renovations, overall staff worked hard to keep the place clean but alot of work going on during the day renovating rooms. bar staff particularly Eric was great. The girl at the front desk was very busy at checkin, but worked very efficiently to deal with all the problems. our room had no heat and we where moved to another room. We knew the pool was closed but it sounds like it may never open again. They need to update there website which still says they have a pool . overall it was a good trip, but they have a lot of work to do to over come the recent past troubles.

The staff were very kind and helpful(Eric). It is unfair of me to rate the state of this property while under renovations.

The new rooms are very nice but there are still a few quirks they need to work out.

It is how ever disappointing that they are closing the pool area as we have stayed there in the past and this was something we were looking forward to.

I understand they were under construction, but they should at least let you know at the front front desk. There was a giant hole by the one door where you could’ve fell in and seriously hurt yourself badly.

They are undergoing a badly needed renovation. That said, the rooms and hallways are not clean, light bulbs are out and mismatched, and the elevator is old and smelly. Personally I think if the maintenance staff was a little more proactive things could be excused through the renovation but the ones I saw didn’t seem to be actually doing maintenance. Definitely a lack of good management.

The 2 queen size stand size rooms are not queen sized they are actually full sized beds, even the bed comforters say full sized. If i could show a pitcure i would. The hotel is dirty, the ice bucket lid is dirty, the one bed had no bed skirt, no fitted sheets on either bed. Probley because it would say a full size bed like the comforter does. I pool was dirty, the one glass door leading out on the patio only one side opened but had to be manually pushed opened. No vending machines, no coffe marker in the lobby or in the room. So no coffe for any coffee lovers. You only get two towels and have to wait for more towels to be done if they have them available, so if u have more then 2 people with u not count on everyone being able to shower. Towels are really small. No balcony in the queen size rooms. False advertisement, all the way aroung. Dont ho here.

Found 2 bugs in the bed. Carpets are very dirty. TV didn't work. I asked them to fix it the 2nd day, and they never did. They had only 1 luggage cart in the lobby, and it had flat tires. I will never stay here again. I would advise anyone else to stay away from here.

In my request for check-in, I wanted a ground level. They tried to put in the second floor. The reason I booked the hotel was because of the indoor outdoor pool. They close the pool for no apparent reason. The sheets on the bed kept coming off. The bed itself was gross. There was no refrigerator or microwave in any other rooms or coffee anywhere to be found. The lounge service was terrible. I would not recommend staying here.

Returning to its glory days

Employees went out of their way to make sure my needs were taken care of. New ownership company and the entire resort is under a major remodel and renovation, so things were a little of sorts. I am extremely excited to see the changes over the next year or so. Room was clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable along with phenomenal water pressure in the shower. Staff that cares about customers and money to invest into the property, is Bay Valley making a Rocky Balboa like return?? Only time will tell.

This may have been a Hotels.com problem, but when I arrived I was told there were no rooms. The clerk was not super compassionate, but at least put me in what was maybe a room under repair. The door would not shut properly and there was no mini refrigerator, which I was really planning on. Room was comfortable enough. But my experience this time was a 2- or 3- Star at best.

Pulled in to begin our stay while 6 police officers drug some sobbing lady out of there. The property was probably awesome, along time ago. They havent updated much! The room didnt have a fridge, micro or coffee maker and was not nice! The swimming pool/spa area was in shambles and the stuff floating in pool, gross! The hotel gave us stained pool towels after they were able to track some down. The Bay Valley Resort needs so serious updating, now!

The outside looks very nice- However the inside needs a major overhaul. Half the rooms were not available to use. The banquet hall hadn’t been cleaned in I don’t know when. It was dark and creepy walking to the bathrooms from the pool area. There were only 5 chairs to sit in for the pool. We stayed for dinner it took over 2 hours for them to make dinner and have it served to the group. Some things were even forgotten and had to be made in a hurry. The lighting was also very dark in the hall. They did have live music and that was good.
The rooms are very outdated- no microwave, refrigerator or even the basic coffee pot. This is a Wyndham Property and I would expect better quality.

The handicap entrance to get in with your suitcases instead of hauling them up all the stairs, had no door so anyone could come in. Not safe! We only had 1 washcloth and hand towel. Sent a message no response. Called no one answered. No phone, refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot in room. Carpet was so dirty our feet were black. We were told there was breakfast for a fee. Found out breakfast is only served on Sunday. Food in lounge was delicious. Hopefully there new remodeling will help these issues.

We arrived to a dirty room.. tv didn’t work. They took almost 3 hours (by the time we got a new room it was midnight) because they had no other clean and ready rooms available. Pool floor was cracking and falling apart my son cut his foot on it in the indoor pool. We asked for pool towels but due to renovations they are not offering pool towels and you have to use towels from your room which I asked for and he said he would send some to my room as me and my kids sat at the front desk dripping wet. Staff was rude, the young girl at the front desk was the only one who was nice. We ended our trip early after our encounter with the man at the desk about the towels. We didn’t even stay our 2nd night we just ended the trip. I understand they are renovating but things were thrown all over the place and the only work we seen going on was them painting outside the pool area. We won’t be returning.

The property is falling apart. Many areas unsafe and huge liability for bay valley! We had one towel with three people. We ran out of toilet paper and went to get some and they told us they had none! We had Kleenex! It stunk in room … weeds growing up our sliding glass doors that do not open unless you jiggle it endlessly and doesn’t lock! We had to pay 25 dollars more to stay 45 minutes later then they were pounding our door down!!! Then treated very rude! Don’t stay here!

We had a lot of fun in the pool. The pool is in fair condition, but the indoor outdoor aspect of it was fantastic. My kids had a blast as far as the rooms we didn’t receive very good directions to the room and when we went to find the rooms all the hallways were dark with no lighting and we wandered armed for about 10 minutes before we found where our room was at. There’s not any amenities in the room no microwave no refrigerator. We knew about that beforehand, but it’s still would be nice to have that stuff as far as the room the room was average. It was generally clean and the bed were comfortable. The shower was good hot water, and good pressure

I look forward to seeing it after it’s all done, because this place has so much potential. The staff is amazing. It’s not often that you meet such friendly, caring people. Okay yes antique old style looking, but could be way more beautiful if the workers actually took the time and did their job.
Find my arrival the room they had assigned to me, have not been cleaned, so they gave me another room. I went to that room and it had been occupied, so went back to desk to get another room, but they act like it was normal…. So anyways I got my room and the cleanness of the hotel and rooms just didn’t fit right with me. Hint- I wonder if they knew what a vacuum was.
I checked for bedbugs and decided to stay because I just needed a place to lay my head for the night and I was up early and gone the next day

Very large property with tons of potentials needs a lot of updating and tax- staff at check in was great - we used the hot tub and pool area was clean - while there were no pool towels available in the room the front desk offered us two extra towels to use - the area is really nice - close to town but far enough away enough to feel you have some peace and quiet . The breakfast was not complimentary so we ate after we left the property in the morning - checkout staff Phyllis is a wonderful addition to your staff she’s very sweet and spent time letting us know more about the property and new ownership it would be under - we can’t wait to come back and see the renovations

We had to pay $2 for coffee. Most rooms that you pay over $100 a night will atleast have a small coffee pot, Microwave, and/or a mini fridg. This hotel had none of those things in our room but had coffee in the lobby and then was asked for $2 per cup. We felt that is was a very cheap thing to do by management/ownership.

So much potential being wasted

There is so much potential in this property but it needs some significant TLC. Neither the restaurant nor the bar were open, front desk staff stated being short staffed has led to the closures. Many spots of water damage and/or mold on walls and ceilings as well as debris on the floors from walls deteriorating. Someone must have pulled an alarm because every room was triggered around 10:30pm for a couple of minutes and no effort was made to apologize or correct the disturbance. The room was FREEZING, I slept in 2 shirts and 2 pairs of socks plus sweatpants—the heat did start working sometime in the middle of the night. The shower was also cold, warming only to about lukewarm after nearly 40 minutes. Finally, during the event we attended downstairs, there was a distinct sewer smell in the hallways for the entire duration. I’d like to hope improvements are made but as of march 2025, my recommendation is stay elsewhere!

Needs help

The check in staff was great, the lobby was very nice but the room was extremely outdated. Worse than that was the fact that the heat was not turned on in our room when we arrived and it was mid February and 21 degrees outside. It didn't actually warm up until well after we went to bed. The room appeared clean at first but there was trash from other people behind the cabinet under the tv. The carpets were very dirty as well. I dont usually leave bad reviews but I just feel it needed to be said.

The room was clean and smelled nice, as was the rest of the property. The room was comfortable. There was someone's necklace that got left behind on the floor, so not sure the room got inspected too well between guests. It was a vibrant peace, so not easy to miss. Our biggest upset was the continental breakfast. They offered a couple cereal selections, but there was only 1 carton of milk in the fridge (small school box sized) and it was expired about a week ago. We opted for a bagel, wheat was the only option, and it was bit hard, so I'm guessing it sat out for a while. Put it in the toaster to soften it, then among our surprise, the 5 single serve cream cheeses were 2 weeks past the use by date. Tried a jelly instead, but the first bite, the bagel still tasted stale. Spit it out, and threw it away. There were no options for water, juice, tea, etc. Only coffee, which we did not try. A few granola bars and some apples. Nothing worth really grabbing. Note to anyone staying - skip the breakfast and opt for someplace in town.

Staff was great. Room was nice and we had a great view of the course. I felt like I got more than what I paid for, and it was fairly cheap. Would love to come back.

I really liked that the property was quiet, but the website pictures didn't quite match the room. It appeared there were some renovations that were going on 9r had been done on a couple of the floors, our floor just wasn't one of them. Hpwever, the room was spacious and affordable and the staff was amazing!!!!
