Our stay was excellent in every way.
The pool room was absolutely worth the extra, a real treat that made the whole trip feel special, and the perfect escape when the main pool was busy.

There were always plenty of beds available on the stunning, spotless beach, making it so easy to relax. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice, and the quality of the restaurant’s evening food was genuinely amazing.

The staff were exceptional, always smiling, always helpful, and truly a credit to the hotel. A special shout-out to Nut and Oil, who went above and beyond throughout our stay.

Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. I’m already looking forward to returning in the future.

Everything was fantastic. Swim up room was incredible. Agree with other reviews about the hotel restaurant being pricey compared to restaurants less than a 5 min walk down the beach (with better quality food!). Would definitely stay here again if we returned to Thailand.

Breakfast very good, variety and length of service was great.
Rooms large and comfy beds.
2 pools one with swim up bar. Private beach and warm sea to swim in.
Staff very polite and helpful.
Car park with limited spaces, but security is there 24 hours so no problem parking on the front of the hotel
A very enjoyable stay, wish we booked longer than 4 nights.
Close to waterfalls, temples, and tsunami museum.

property on very quiet section of beach, supermarket very close by, as well some eateries, pool acess rooms were great, the only downside was the food at the hotel restaurant which was exceedingly bland and tasteless, also the design of the bathroom sliding door needs a relook as it is very peculiar

Amazing experience

Such a beautiful property and relaxing stay! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everything on our stay was just right. There was a little bit of a hiccup on arrival but staff went above and beyond to correct the issue. Definitely a luxurious stay! The food on the property delicious. The property is so beautiful.

Wonderful resort with the kindest staff, special thanks to Honey in kids club who was so warm and welcoming and made a special point of saying hello to our daughter whenever she saw her around the resort.

Right on a lovely beach with great restaurants either side.

We stayed in a pool access room which we would highly recommend, breakfast was brilliant!

The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The pool area was very slippery, felt unsafe every time we stepped out of the pool. Not very convenient for families with babies. No child pool, and the kids club is very small leaving the kids bored. There wasn’t a lot near the hotel you have to take a taxi to the town , 20 min drive usually 400 baht a direction , so 800 both ways. The breakfast was nice addition. Not much alternatives in the area. The beach restaurants only open at 10:00. Also the rooms with pool access really to for family with baby/infants you have to always keep an eye out for them.

The resort has a really nice blend of garden and ocean themes with a twist of Thai culture in modern setting. Really good breakfast, spa, facilities, beach and drinks. The restaurants on site are beautiful, and you have the option to visit other restaurants by its private beach.

Wonderful time

We had great time at the Grand Mercure. The hotel is conveniently located, close to nearby restaurants/supermarkets. I'd recommend it if you want to get away from the busier Khao Lak area.
Overall we had a wonderful time.

The hotel is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. We had a swim up room which was definitely worth upgrading too.
Room was spacious and modern with one of the comfiest beds we has ever slept in.
All the food and beverages we had were of good quality. However our only complaint is the price of food which can be 3 times as much as local restaurants.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful nothing ever seemed too much.
Would definitely return to this hotel.

Perfect spot to do nothing and relax. Nearby street and beach restaurants were delightful and the fire show was very entertaining. Short walk to nearby convenience stores and massages.
Kids club was not very inspiring. Not many kids attending the small and tidy room. Idea of having more crafts, cultural activities and even a gaming console for the kids to have down time would improve this service.

This was a beautiful resort property. The staff was wonderful. There were several restaurants on the property which was very convenient and the food was delicious! Our room was an absolute gem with all the amenities you could hope for. The view from our room was beautiful and the balcony was an added bonus. The pool was large with a bar and individual lounge areas for guests. The beach was steps away from the property and provided some of the most amazing sunsets and the firework show was so much fun to watch. Highly recommend the Grand Mecure.

Great resort in Khao Lak. I think it’s the nicest on the beach in the area. Very quiet and well maintained. They have a great breakfast buffet and the restaurant onsite is good. There are plenty of restaurants to try along the beach too. The spa facial was very nice too.

Felt like paradise.Staff were always there to help when needed and not in your face kind of way.The rooms were amazing and very spacious. Only thing was the time for breakfast.It was too early start and ended really early.Maybe a later finish as a lot of people were still recovering from excursions and was hard to wake up. And maybe a little more variety at breakfast would have been welcomed.All in all it was a very pleasant stay and we would definitely come back again.

Staff were excellent and very helpful. Rooms were large & modern, clean, comfortable bed. Pool areas very nice, long walk from front of hotel to the ocean and main pool area, although a couple of pools in between so no issues there. Not a lot of places to eat or entertainment outside & close to the hotel, but a lovely hotel overall and local business owners very friendly and helpful. About 15 km from KL central, l hired a motor bike which made getting around & trips to KL easy. If you’re looking for a comfortable, quiet and relaxing holiday, l’m sure you would enjoy your stay at the Grand Mercure KL.

The hotel is new and nice, with good beach area, but has a lot of issues.

Here are some:
- I've picked my room when I was booking, because it had corner windows, ended up staying in a smaller room with just one window, not sure why.
- To get anywhere in the hotel you walk for a while on a road behind a hotel, which I didn't enjoy. Also very hard to find room by number, numeration doesn't make much sense.
- Far from the nearest city.
- Spa was ok, but I really disliked that they claim in the menu massage is 75 mins, and then turns out it's 60 and 15 for the prep before in after.
- Drinks in the bar were meh, and barely had alcohol.
- They didn't do room service every day for some reason (even though I was out most of the day)

Good things:
- Beach area is pretty great
- The hotel is very new and has nice design

Sehr schöne gepflegte Anlage. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Poolzugang, das war perfekt! Personal immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Große Auswahl beim Frühstück. Das Restaurant Green Mango war auch sehr gut. Am besten war die Bar am Strand zum Sonnenuntergang.
Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und sind dankbar dafür!

Ob Rezeption, Cleaning, Pool/Poolbar, alle Mitarbeiter sind super motiviert und wahnsinnig freundlich.
Das Frühstück war perfekt und auch bei voller Auslastung oder zehn Minuten vor Schluss war immer alles da. Die Auswahl war enorm und der Kaffee / Cappuccino etc. auf Barista-Niveau.
Absolute Empfehlung.

Semplicemente un paradiso! Avevamo la camera deluxe con pool access ed era fantastica. Tutto il soggiorno è stato favoloso, niente di negativo da dire. Personale gentilissimo e super disponibile, spazi perfetti dentro e fuori, sempre tutto pulito, colazione fantastica, tante attività, anche per i bambini. Piscine molto belle, spiaggia ampia e bellissima, mai affollata- Avrei tante cose da dire, ma riassumo con un grande grazie a tutto lo staff!

Das Hotel ist sauber, die Mitarbeiter außerordentlich freundlich. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, der Strand war herrlich, am Morgen hatte man ihn fast ganz für sich alleine. Die Frühstücksauswahl (auch die Getränke) waren hervorragend. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es ausreichend und gute Restaurants.Der vordere Pool war sehr schön ruhig, man konnte herrlich entspannen. An dem Pool in Strandnähe liegt die Poolbar und dort ist mehr los.
Wir kommen wieder.

Personal war hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Zimmer sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Der Standard entsprach allerdings eher einem vier Sterne Hotel. Die Anzahl der Liegen am Pool und am Strand war begrenzt, was zu umfangreichen „Reservierungen“ von Liegen geführt hat, die dann oft stundenlang nicht genutzt waren. Das Hotel hat zwar eine Policy, die Liegenreservierungen verbietet, diese wird aber nicht umgesetzt. Uns hat das nicht gefallen.

Toppen hotell med fantastisk staff, rena rum, mycket fin miljö inslagen i naturen med all växtlighet. Rummen är fräscha, stranden är fint dock några dagar hade den lite större vågor lite svårare för mindre barn. Restaurangen Green Mango hade god mat men lite för små portioner i flera fall.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Grand Mercure Hotel.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Poolzugang. Das Zimmer war top, alles sehr geräumig und sauber.
Der Frühstücksraum war etwas sehrhektisch, wenn man nicht früh oder später kam. Leider gab es nur zwei Kaffeevollautomaten, welche nicht ausreichten für alle Gäste, da diese äußert langsam funktioniert haben. Oft stand man gut 10 Minuten an. Hier besteht Verbesserungsbedarf.
Ansonsten gibt es unserseits keine negativen Erfahrungen.
Das Essen im Hotel schmeckte sehr gut, war aber definitiv teurer als draußen.
Wir würden dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.
Kleines Manko noch: Leider gibt es immer wieder Gäste (meist Osteuropäer), welche sehr laut sind. Das kann einem schon den Urlaub verderben.

Hotelanlage in sehr ruhiger Umgebung, gut zum Entspannen jedoch abgelegen vom Schuss. Wer einen Entspannungsurlaub plant, ist hier genau richtig. Es gibt in der näheren Umgebung mehrere Restaurants, die allesamt gut waren. Das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt und das Personal nett und bereit, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.

Ingesamt sehr schöne anlage, toller strand und sehr gute möglichkeiten zb am strand preislich gut zu essen. Auch die Restaurants im resort sind akzeptabel. Sehr nette angestellte und stets bemüht. Definitiv zu empfehlen, aber: das hotel möchte in der obersten liga spielen, ist dort auch preislich angesetzt, daür passen dann doch ein paar dinge nicht: frühstück überlaufen, man tritt sich auf die Füße: Empfehlung 2. Büffet im green mango. Sicherlich aufwändiger aber bei solchen preisen (350 die nacht aufwärts) darf sowas morgends nicht sein. 2. Mango: einfach zu wenig liegen am strand und pool: min 2x vorgekommen dass wir als familie mit 2 kindern gegen 10 vor sind und nirgends einen platz fanden. Dann an einem Tag keine handtücher mehr vorhanden... am nächsten wurde rationiert und es wurde gefragt warum ich denn jetzt schon wieder welche bräuchte (auf zimmernummer wurde notiert). Sowas darf in einem 4+ resort einfach nicht vorkommen. Nachbessern, dann klare Empfehlung!

Miljön runt hotellet var perfekt och lugnt. Fin strand. Flera ställen längst med stranden att äta på. Vänlig personal och väldigt service minded. Rent och fint rum. Hade gett dem högsta betyg om sängarna var lite mjukare. De var i de hårdaste laget. Bodde här i 15 nätter. Frukosten var grym!

Allt är toppen med detta hotell! Underbar miljö och otroliga rum, god mat och alkoholfria drinkar, mycket bra frukost, allt finns. Fantastisk strand, lätt att få stolar. Bra location tyckte vi, en bit från stan men det passade oss bra att hänga på beachen på dagen och åka in till stan på kvällen. Lätt att få taxi utanför.

Rummen är trevliga och känns fräscha och rena. Hotellet ligger på en smal och lång tomt så det definierar hela strukturen. Det tycker jag gör att det känns lite trångt, men rent estetiskt ser det väldigt fint ut. All personal var trevlig och serviceminded. Vi åt lunch en dag på hotellet i strandrestaurangen Green Mango, men det är inget jag kan rekommendera. Det var dyrt, snålt och smakade tyvärr väldigt mediokert. Poolen är trevlig och ren men ganska liten. Havet och stranden är vacker men du behöver strandskor pga all korall i vattenbrynet.
