The front desk staff were not welcoming or friendly. Check ins were slow. The room was nice and the view was nice but the rooms have almost no light. They would benefit greatly from a floor lamp or two. There is insanely loud music on the weekends in the courtyard until late. It your room is on the wrong side of the building it is impossible to rest. It feels like the music is in your room. It is incredibly loud.

Was a good stay but everywhere I went everyone was trying to sell me something . Fair enough outside , the shops attached to the hotel were very aggressive but inside the hotel their was receptionists, he kept trying to sell me excursions or trips and I would never ask. He then said are you not going to buy something with me, like I needed too and he only wanted it for which would seem like commission. I said over and over again , I'm not here for this and I just want to relax. I was going to sousse after my stay and asked for a transfer to which is was £60 from the hotel was quoted. I said I would look around and the receptionist looked upset and I said it's very expensive. I found one for £27 and when I told him I wouldn't book he was upset . I then said can I reserve to go to the restaurant in the evening, he said I need to speak to the head chef! This was unbelievable! All because I wouldn't buy anything with him .

Other then this everyone was nice it was just this receptionist which ruined my stay

I booked for triple room and sea view but they gave me standard room without sea view. I pay double more for sea view and this what i got. The room air condition is not working and its too hot. What kind of 5 star hotel is this. This is a riff off. I will file complaint to BB to your guys for not giving what i booked and post everywhere bad what the hotel did. I booked for 6 rooms and paid soo much for this.

Nice hotel, disappointing night.

The hotel is lovely. However I had a couple of problems with the room that weren't resolved.
The most significant issue was that the air conditioning didn't work, meaning I had a very uncomfortable nights sleep. I raised this issue with a hotel employee and nothing was done about it.
Also, in the room I lacked a few minor things, all of which were requested, but never appeared. These included things such as shower gel in the bathroom dispenser, and a room service food and drinks menu.

Considering that I'll be staying in the area for the next few months and I would have wanted to stay at this hotel regularly, I think given my experience I'll find another hotel.

Very poor quality and the place was another horrible experience like the Movenpick at Sousse. Sold and promoted as a 5 stars is a total sham and a complete ripp off because when you pay for a 5 Stars experience you should not receive a 2 star or even a crappy Motel service. A great location with a friendly staff and the food was very good in all restaurants. This one is certainly the one to go back to as the 5 stars claimed was correct unlike the Movenpick that claims a stars and delivered us a cockroach motel service and quality. We all enjoyed our experience here including the hotel Spa an awesome place with a beautiful design and good service.

Definitely not a 5 stars hotel

Mediocre quality at best being sold as a 5 stars when in fact the place is not even worth 3 stars. This hotel reminded of the Movenpick in Sousse where we stayed the nights before and there from a huge roach in the room to practically nothing working in the Bathroom. Here it was the same thing. Just like the Movenpick, this place will be off my list and would not recommend it to any one.

Beautiful pool, great staff and food. Wifi connections were not good from rooms we had, which caused problems with being in touch with family at home. Air conditioning not working for several days. Sea view not really what we got. Finally got moved to a true sea view room with Wifi and air and view of Sea. Very crowded at Buffet, but food was very good.

Room wasn't fit with the proper bed for the third adult person. They swapped the bed after long discussion with the staff. Reported issue with bathroom (no air exchange) but no one showed up to fix after full 4 nights stay. Staff confused about client with food allergy ( bring your milk if you are lactose intolerant). Food quality above average but gets boring after the second day (mostly the same). Hotel Location doesn't provide the best beach spot(too many garbage coming out). Staff are very nice overall specially the chef who will stop by and make sure you are satisfied with your dinner.

A barely two star hotel. If you love coffee, stay away!!! their coffee is disgusting. The level of noise inside and outside the hotel is unbearable . I was unable to sleep for two nights so on the third night, I checked out around 2200 to go back to Tunis to find a calm hotel. The reception did not even offer me a different room, or a discount!!!

Be very careful at this hotel

My husband was staying here on a business trip, a member of the staff threatened to harm me and our children when we visit Tunisia. Does not feel like they want the British tourists to come back to Tunisia. Complaints have been lodged with the Tunisian embassy in London and the British embassy in Tunisia as this is a big problem. We have booked a presidential suite costing £8,000 for 42 nights at this hotel but we are now looking to move our reservation. We would recommend this hotel is removed from availability for British tourists. The director of the hotel stated they don't need the British tourists as they have the Russian tourists.

Great hotel, nice food and perfect location!

Went for a weeks vacation with my girlfriend. Nice hotel with friendly staff, high security and great food. Rooms are nice and quiet and there's free WiFi in the rooms. Nice size TV, King size bed and large balcony. Everything was clean.

There's a lot of different food every day, very professional servers.

The pool area was nice and clean, and there was great service as well with drinks and sunbed mattresses.

We will definitely recommend this hotel and visit this place again.

If you are a non-married couple, please check with the hotel if you can book a room together before arrival. Please get this on email, since we were told we couldn't, until I showed an email from the hotel saying that we could. Then it wasn't a problem at all. So, I'll recommend that.

Absolutely loved staying here. The hotel is right on the beach and within a few minutes walk of the marina. Everything is really nearby and Carthage Land is a 5 min walk too. We went all inclusive and food was fab every day. Lots of variety. Def would stay here again!

The hotel was beautiful! It was clean, comfortable and very realxing. I went here with my boyfriend, our welcome was a bit unpleasant as the reception tried to sell us a second room saying that we could not stay in the same room as we were not married. We both live in different countries and had travelled a long way to spend time together so this was a problem. We had to get the management involved and raise a bit of a stink but it did get worked out. After that they were very apologetic and were willing to help us in any way possible. The wait staff was, at times rude and looked miserable. A simple smile can go a long way! Most of them warmed up to us after seeing us a few times which helped turn our opinions around. The rooms were spacious, bright and comfortable. My only complaint was that there was no air conditioning available after Oct 1st which made it very hot at times! We left our balcony open almost all the time. The rooms were cleaned every day and the cleaning ladies always made our towels into something beautiful and left flower petals on our pillows which was very charming. The pool was incredible! The pool staff and entertainment crew were really personable, they got to know us by name and always wanted us to join in on the fun! Overall I would say our stay was great, I would even go back.

Very good hotel, pleasant stay, all you need!

This hotel was very good. I went as a couple and we really enjoyed our stay. There are lots of opportunities to get involved with activities - water polo, football, volleyball etc (which is great for partners bored of sunbathing)
We stayed half board and this was the only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars. The drinks were extortionate, around £25 for a GLASS of wine! And the other drinks were too expensive to purchase too. It didn't really matter to us as there are plenty of shops nearby where you can easily stock up and this probably makes it cheaper than all inclusive anyway! But as soon as the waiter clocked we weren't going to be paying for drinks, he wasn't to friendly and cheerful.
But anyway, apart from this, the hotel is very good. Rooms large and cleaned daily (beds very hard), the pool is great, the beach is just across the road and also great!
The area of Yasmine Hammamet is much more pleasant than Hammamet as you get hassled much less while trying to shop. The \"fixed price\" shops aren't all actually fixed price and they do try to rip you off left right and centre but if you stick to the larger fixed price shops, these are much easier to shop in and are actually fixed price!

Good for a relaxing holiday

Booked last minute for a relaxing break in the sun. I thought the cost of this all-inclusive break was very good value for money as it was just under £500. The reviews are mixed but in my opinion the hotel is clean, well-guarded, has good facilities. There was plenty of choice at the main restaurant so even the most fussy eater would find something to eat. The waiters were friendly but not invasive. They bring a cake and sing Happy Birthday if you happen to have your birthday there. The room was cleaned daily and there were always flowers left on the bed. The shower pressure was very good and our balcony over looking the courtyard was lovely. We spent all of our holiday going down to the beach and even if we got there at 10.30 the lifeguard always found us a good spot. The pool area was near a main road and overcrowded. If you wanted to relax and read a book it was hard because they have entertainment activities all day. There is not much to do outside of the hotel but we did go to dinner a couple of times and it was not expensive and the quality was wonderful. If you want a break in the sun to recharge then I would recommend this hotel. If you want a happening place with plenty to do, this is not the place for you.

A great family holiday in a lovely hotel

I stayed with my wife and two kids at this hotel during August. We loved every moment. It's a really clean hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The lifeguards look out for the kids and ensure their safety. The swimming pools were well designed and nice for kids to explore. The beach was across a road, but that wasn't a problem at all. The location of the hotel is great - just walking distance from the new Medina and the marina area. Happy to recommend this hotel to other families.

Great hotel with friendly staff

Just retuned from a week's stay at this hotel. It was perfect, clean and spacious room, stunning sea view, fantastic restaurant and bar. All inclusive option is definately a good idea and the choices were simply infinite. You also get to dine in other Iberostar hotels located just few minutes away so everyone will find something appealing; Mediterranean cuisine, Oriental, Italian etc. Really spolied for choice.
This hotel has lovely, friendly staff who are always there to help you, regardless if you tip them or not ( we did most of the times but forgot to take money on few occasions and received superb service anyway).
Also the private beach with a bar is a great feature. Overall definitely a great place to stay. I read some negative comments and honestly I don't understand them. Yes, if you are expecting the Savoy standards you will be disappointed but it is a very solid 4* (London standards I would say) with 5* staff and food . Also fantastic value for the money :)

My wife and I took a much needed break to Tunisia last week. I must say I was very pleased with the hotel and our overall stay in Tunisia. Would gladly visit again. They were welcoming, and all throughout they would call us by our names, asking us how we were and if there was anything they could do, despite 300 other guests in the hotel. Tariq made very good arrangements for my wife's spa, and marbook at the concierge was very kind. Haitham the musician was very good to us. Sameer made special arrangements for our quad biking and boat ride. Thank you all for your hospitality. The buffet was very appetising. The hotel and rooms was nice and clean. I regret not tipping enough specially at eating time, where we would go without money, but the man in charge at the dining hall was such a gentleman.

Great staff - very friendly and attentive. The food was good for a 5 night stay, but possibly lacked variety for a stay any longer than that. A great hotel for a quiet and relaxing break, but no night life around. Spa was great and value for money. Just a note on the \"sea view\" rooms - they have a great sea view but there is a busy road in between the hotel and the beach so there is some traffic noise when you're on the balcony. The pool area is good and plenty of sun loungers if you get there on time.

My stay was during the period of 15/12/12 and 18/12/12.The hotel's location is great. But the hotel has nothing to do with a 5 stars hotel, I would say it's more on the 3 stars level. Everything is average, food, condition of the hotel, and the quality of service. I was planning to use the indoor swimming pool on ta daily basis, but ended using it once because it is privately owned, and the hotel guests have access to the pool only on certain times ( 12:00-14:00) and ( 18:00-19:00) which is not convenient at all. The TV in the room was from the 90's with only 10 channels to watch, and a very poor quality of image. If you are looking for an average hotel, not very expensive with a good location, than this place for you. Otherwise I would suggest that you look somewhere else.

Everything you expect from a 5 star hotel

My wife and I found the Solaria to be on a par with other 5 star hotels we've stayed at around the world. We had the all-inclusive option and found the food to be very varied and of good quality. Wine and other alcoholic drinks flowed if desired, the only thing being that the beer and wine is made in-country and hence, being a Muslim country, is not the best ... but is OK.

We stayed in Sept in the first week in their medium season and found the hotel to be busy but not heaving, e.g. You could find a sun bed at the beach or pool easily at 2pm. Despite being against hotel rules beds were being 'bagged' early in the day ... but this happens everywhere we've stayed so of no surprise.

The guest clientele was very cosmopolitan with folks staying there from all over Europe, Russia, Libya and Algeria which we find pleasing. The hotel itself is definitely up there with the other 5 star hotels in the area.

The tourist in the Yasmin-Hammamet resort is 'protected' in the sense that there seems to be a lot of control exercised to shield holiday makers from street hawkers, beggars and insistent shop keepers which is refreshing ... you don't realise this until you visit others areas e.g. the older part of Hammamet when you're pounced on the instant you step out of a taxi!

All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the resort and have no hesitation to recommend it to others.

Great for what you pay

For what you pay, this hotel is great. The only thing that really lets it down is the staff. They aren't particularly interested in the most basic of questions i.e. what time is my transfer coming and if you are a women the men find it hard to talk to you without sniggering. This doesn't ruin the holiday, its a clean, large hotel well positioned on the seafront. A little staff training would just make the experience that much better.

There were JCB's (tractors) on the beach for the whole of our stay trying to clean up the beach and all the mud and dirt that the tide had carried on the beach. So if you ste looking for a peaceful and relaxed stay this is mot the hotel or area in Hammamet to stay. Food is great. Reception is not the most helpful and if you ask them to do anything they consider not in their job description they will make it clear that it is not the job of the hotel. For example, because of the recent curfew due to civil unrest in the capital (june 2012) the BA flight was departing earlier than scheduled. We asked reception to contact the local transfer agency to ensure the pick up for the transfer would be earlier (as I don't speak Tunisian) and was told this was not the job of the hotel. The customer service is shocking and basic training in customer needs is required.

All around good value for money!

My wife and I stayed here for a short getaway, and were overall happy with the hotel. It is an all around great value for the money we paid. The location is very good...within an easy walk of the beach, marina, medina, and main shops. The restaurant serves excellent food and the staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool (we were there in fair weather so too cold to swim outside) is fairly small but it is salt water so it's more of a relaxation pool that's good for the skin rather than a place to swim around in. The only negatives were that the reception staff were rather unfriendly and not always helpful. They didn't even give us a proper welcome when we arrived and treated us as if we were an inconvenience to them. The layout of the hotel is also an issue. Places are not clearly marked, and the reception didn't give clear indications of where things are when we arrived, so we had to search around to find things like the indoor pool, restaurant, and even the outdoor pool. The final negative is that we didn't feel it was a true 5 star hotel even though it's rated at that. The size and level of luxury is more like a 4 star hotel, so we were a little disappointed at that but the price is also for a 4 star hotel so we were satisfied after our stay there!

Clairement pas un 5 étoiles, au mieux 1 étoile voir un camping.
Service nul pour un 5 étoiles.
Téléphone chambre marche pas, sens l’humidité, pas d’eau dans la chambre, repas ressemble à une cantine, serviette de plage vous la prête seulement en échange de 20 dinars etc…

Si vous souhaitez vraiment un 5 étoiles dirigez vous plutôt vers les chaînes d’hôtels connues

Hygiene restaurant mediocre, qualité boisson médiocre, idem piscine, douche thalassothérapie vétuste. Confort literie médiocre. Chambre au dessus du restaurant donc assez bruyant tard le soir et tôt le matin, avec le personnel qui bougent les tables-chaises. Activité Quad =Arnaque. Personnel accueillant et serviable qui fait de son mieux avec les moyens du bord. Service thalassothérapie qualité / prix = très bien…. Je ne dirais pas la même chose concernant la formule chambre + all-inclusive :-(…..

Séjour très agréable, personnel aux petits soins que ce soit à la réception, l’animation, piscine ou restaurant. Le personnel est à l’écoute et professionnel. Pour avoir fait plusieurs hôtels sur Hammamet le service est au rdv et cela est appréciable. Pour la piscine un peu déçu de la taille par rapport aux photos mais cela reste correct. Nous avions choisi une chambre avec vue mer elle était parfaite. En tout cas je recommande cet hôtel si vous êtes en famille ou entre amis et que vous cherchez un peu d’ambiance. Pour le calme les animations de 12h30 à 15h s’arrêtent.

Hôtel de bord de plage très agréable aux structures multiples et permettant beaucoup de loisirs. Mini disco piscine animation sport… la restauration est diversifiée et de bonne qualité. La situation de l’hôtel est très agréable aussi.

Fantastique. L’hôtel et les équipements sont superbes, la vue sur mer imprenable !
Le restaurant et le service étaient très bons, une grosse amélioration par rapport à l’année dernière sur la qualité de l’eau ( médiocre car pb de canalisation). Surclassement en suite, gigantesque et confortable ! Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir
