We booked for 4 days family of 3 . We were given 2 single beds and a sofabed.however we booked a double bed and a single bed . Even though we were 3 adults we onky were given for 2 people towels and bath services everyday for 4 days and we kept have to ask everyday for an extra towel bought our own bath products.

We were dissapointed that the pool was closed as out of season & the restaurant was closed on the friday and Saturday evenings during our stay , this was not mentioned anywhere when booking. Nor informed after the fact.

We stayed at this hotel last year and were impressed with everything, especially the restaurant so this was our main reason of choosing this venue for our stay again.

This time we stayed, the room we were allocated faced the carpark so it was louder at night due to other events going on at the hotel. The AC in the room was also not as good as our last stay as it hadnt been updated.

Overall staff were great. Dinner (when available) was superb. Sleep was disturbed on friday and saturday evenings though due to other guests being noisy when leaving in the car park.

It was a big surprise, in a positive way. The room, the sunny outdoor pool with umbrellas and the bar with outdoor sitting is excellent. The pool closes at 19:30, and the restaurant opens at 19:30. We had a very tasty dinner at the restaurant, I recommend it. It was our last stop in Italy before flying off from Bologna airport. I definitely recommend this hotel, it was much better than expected. It is in a location where you need a car and parking is free, public transportation is difficult.

Great hotel that is well connected to Bologna Fiere but very difficult to move to city center. If Bologna Fiere entrance north is open, you can walk about 15 mins to get there. If not, you should take a cab which doesn't make any sense.

Very clean and comfortable room. Front desk staff were friendly and fast at check in and check out. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Be aware that the hotel is a 15 minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and with the current construction on the roads in between, this walk is over uneven terrain that will be challenging with heavy bags. So, highly recommended but caveat emptor if you're not arriving by car.

Beautiful rooms, really nicely appointed. Lots of parking on site. Great restaurant for both breakfast and dinner.

The only nit was that the pool was closed for maintenance during our stay. We'd deliberately looked for a pool before booking. :-(

We had 2 rooms 4 people. The air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms. Someone came the first night to look and said he would come back he did not. We went to buy a fan ourselves. Next afternoon after repeatedly trying to get them to fix the AC they finally did. We also had a toilet that was rocking of the wall. Staff at the front were amazing and very friendly.

Love it every time

I have been visiting this hotel since 2010 every year at least 3 or 4 times in a year. It is not a fancy or anything like 5 stars..but it has its own character which love. People who works at the hotel are so nice, breakfast, internet, room, location is just for me. In an average year I stay over 300 nights in hotels that around the world, Bologna Novotel Fiera is my favorite by far. Thank you guys..

Bed bounced up via springs to make it easier to change the bedding??
Bathroom had not been used for a while and it smelled rather bad but we ran the shower for 5 minutes ( in both rooms) and the smell went away.

Property is remote and not near to bus stops or stations. Plenty of parking and good access to main roads and motorway.
Bad points
Accessibility to transport will cost time and money.
Good facilities but a few things need attention.
Carepets in the rooms are marked and need cleaning/changing.
A USB charging point/s are an absolute must these days.
Safes are difficult to lock/unlock by swiping a bank card!!
No British news channels!! Even though SKY and BBC are readily available via satellite..and free!

An excellent choice for us because of its lovely outdoor pool and general Novotel standards of comfort and cleanliness.

Big positive was the personal service of the front desk staff including, when asked what time was check out, the male receptionist basically inviting us to leave when we liked. Amazing service which makes all the difference.

Disappointing was breakfast. Poor selection and a finish at 9am which, in reality, was more like 8.45am as they started taking food away and rudely refusing to restock supplies. Such a shame because this let's the hotel down and is not up to usual Novotel standards!

Area is out of the city and unattractive but as long as you know that it is perfectly fine. Simple taxi ride into the heart of amazing Bologna.

Helpful staff, nice breakfast, good restaurant, excellent room (clean, quiet, nicely air conditioned) comfy kingsize double bed. Pool only open June to Sept. Nearest bus stop is Sirenella, 15 minutes walk through park, ok during daytime but we avoided at night. Bus stop outside hotel is for FICO bus to Eataly world and not usable with city bus tickets. Taxi from airport was 15 Euros and to from Bolonga was 10-15 Euros depending on traffic.

A truly terrible hotel set in a remote location next to a motorway and industrial estate. The swimming pool was closed and looked like a swamp, the shower leaked water all over the floor and the air conditioning didn’t work despite it being 27 degrees. The hotel is 1.5km from the nearest bus route and if you ask the reception to call a cab they start charging from the moment they are called so expect the meter to start on €8 when you get in. Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in for 10 years. Truly awful. Avoid at all costs.

Convenient location, comfortable and clean

Had a 1 nt stay after a concert at the unipol arena, which was only c.15 min drive away. The hotel is next to the tangenziale (ring road) Fiera junction and less than 10min from the airport so very easy to find in the car.
Desk staff were friendly and efficient. Everything about the room, the restaurant and the hotel was functional, professional, clean and comfortable albeit lacking in character which you'd expect for this kid of hotel. Had lunch in the hotel restaurant, the food was good and of suitable quality for the money.
I'd happily stay or eat here again.

Some good features, but some issues too.

We stayed here in association with a conference being held here. The staff was friendly and generally helpful especially as they let us check in early on the day we arrived after our overseas flight. The room was large and with nice, modern furniture, the bed was comfortable and the lighting was good. However, the location of the hotel is not great, as there is very little to do in the immediate area, and it is a 15 minute walk to the nearest bus stop to get into the Bologna City Center. That walk requires you to go under an overpass which has no sidewalk, so you are in the narrow berm. In addition, you walk past an area that seems to be used by prostitutes as a pick up point. There were no problems as a result of this, but then we were not walking past it in the evenings except for once.

The other major problem we had was that the room was too warm, even with the temperature control set to 5 degC. It is supposed to be A/C, but we asked that it be checked and it was no better. The windows did not open, so the room was warmer at night than we like and there was no way to fix it.

Comfortable cosy BUT far from city centre .

Came with family of four with two children and their grand parents. Hotel was excellent and comfortable with good hotel amenities but without a car was far from city centre with no local shops/ eateries and nearby poor public transport links . Had to rely hence on expensive taxis to get to and from the city centre
and furthermore for party of six, six seater/ large taxis were impossible to get!

The hotel was adequate for our needs and the room was clean. There were a couple of small irritations, e.g. Paper cups for making a tea or coffee in your room, asking for an iron I was advised to use the 'ironing room'......this was a storage cupboard filled with a jumble of items! The most disappointing was breakfast, it was very basic and I had to wait 15 minutes for some scrambled egg to be made......I didn't bother having it on my second day. Drinks from the bar were very expensive. On a positive note, the pool was pleasant, but not for serious swimming.

Hotel is approx 50 minutes walk from centre of Bologna or on average approx 10 euros by taxis. The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was the usual continental with very nice coffee. Our son and daughter travelled with us and their room on the same floor had a coffee machine which ours didn't and they were provided with hair conditioner and body cream as well as the usual shampoo and body wash which we didn't get. The seal on the shower door was missing in parts and the floor got very wet. The room had a kettle with tea and coffee however we had to continually ask for these to be replenished when used. The double bed in our room was probably the worst hotel bed I have slept in, very poor mattress and noisey springs!

This hotel is everything you would expect from a Novotel, clean and efficient HOWEVER the location is terrible and advertised in a misleading way. On the website it says that it is walking distance and even located in the exposition centre. However, there is no way to walk to the exposition centre and you have to take a taxi which costs 9 euros. There is nothing walking distance from the hotel, so you have to drive to restaurants, city, etc ... Parking also costs the same as big hotels in town, so you don't save any money there. So if you are planning on attending the exposition centre, it is much better to stay in the city and take a taxi in for the same price than to stay here. It would be a convenient hotel to stay at if you are looking for somewhere to stay the night before continuing your journey the next day.

We like the fact that the hotel was well situated not too far from the town centre and airport. We thoroughly enjoyed the full range of facilities on offer, the staff were very all helpful and polite, the only negative were the dinner menu, a mince meat lasagna which we ordered on our first night, we're priced at l believe between €15/€16 Euro (for a tiny portion of lasagna with no vegetables/salad served with it.) This put us of from dining at the hotel for the rest of our stay, other than this, the whole experience at the hotel was one of enjoyment. Would definitely stay at the hotel again!

We got in a little late around 9PM and the staff an check in was nice. They convinced us to go the restaurant. When we went in we sat down and then had asked the server if we could sit outside. (there were other people out there).He relied no with no explanation. The servers was hard to find when we needed him and was more concerned with setting for breakfast than greeting new guests and being present for us. Then he dropped silverware on the floor and still put it on a table. Then our ac did not work. We asked to have it fixed when we were out the next day as we hardly got sleep the night before. It was never fixed and we told the desk agent and check out and his response was \" yes my colleague told me sorry\".

I stayed at this hotel while visiting a fair in Bologna. Conveniently located for those who want to visit the Bologna fairs. Its also very easy to get to the centre. The staff super nice and helpful. The food in the restaurant was also good. But I was expecting a better choices for breakfast !!

Lovely, contemporary hotel, spacious, airy, great swimming pool and terrace (although could have done with bar service on a very hot afternoon) which was very welcome after a morning's sightseeing in Bologna. Dinner the first night was very good, despite the restaurant being very busy. Reception staff were very helpful on check-in and recommended a good central underground carpark in Bologna. Excellent buffet breakfast - fantastic choice, and everything delicious, also very pleasant staff. For us, it was a perfect location, close to motorway, and brilliant value. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Modern hotel near Autostrada for convenience.

What a find for weary tired-out travellers! We were on the road for hours and just couldn't drive anymore when I looked it up on our phone and booked it while driving. This modern hotel is right off the highway outside Bologne and has easy access back onto Autostrada on way to Venice. The room was clean, modern, spacious for all three of us with new bedding and bathroom fixtures.

Red light district.

As a chain hotel, everything was great. Clean, well air conditioned. Food was good. Just a couple issues: the sinks in the bathroom are trying way too hard to be cutting edge modern. Why do they come out of the side wall? Stupid design.
My husband and I took my son to the pool, and \"Sasha\" (the life guard) would only give us two towels. Hotel policy. She literally had over 30 clean towels in her little bin, but just couldn't give us one extra towel. Little things like this would make me want to come back. Seriously - one towel.
Lastly, this hotel is right next to a \"red-light district\" in Bologna. we took one wrong turn, and saw half-naked women (one topless) walking up and down the street. Little camper vans parked nearby. A little shocking.

Useful resting place to or from Bolonga Airport

Getting off the plane at Bologna Airport, we used this hotel as a one day resting place before heading to Rimini. My family and I enjoyed our stay and were very pleased with the accommodation. The reception and dining staff were very helpful and friendly.
It seemed that it was a place frequented by businessmen but this did not stop our enjoyment.

Very convenient to the Autostrada if driving. Only a short 10 minute taxi ride to center of Bologna. Very modern by both Italian and USA standards. Comfortable bed and quiet room. Maybe a notch up from a Hampton Inn. Similar to Hyatt Place. Restaurant had limited fair and very little ambiance. If on business I would recommend.

Used this hotel on our way to Ancona for the ferry to greece we've stayed here before and can't fault it

Good hotel

The only difficulty is the approach from the station (or city centre). Cabs cost around 12 to 15 euros. One bus is available but its a long walk from the nearest stop.

nice hotel in Bologna , away from town Center.

Excellent stay for a week. I would recommend for those who are with children. Easy to commute. Easy parking. If you are not driving then, around 12-13 euros for taxi fare each way to the town Center/ Bologna centrale train station.(10 min) And not far from airport (15 min)either.
Breakfast was included in the deal. But it is the same menu everyday ( fruits as well). Overall breakfast is very good.
For kids, X box 360 and kinect were boon. Staff : very friendly , polite and helpful.
Restaurant is excellent. With good taste and various options on a' la carte menu for vegetarian like me.

World Trip with Granddaughter

Booked this place cos it had a pool for our granddughter when we checked in the pool was 'under maintenance' unable to swim nothing close by to do fotunately it was only 1 night

Great hotel, very new, suited for family stays

Great hotel, staff, facilities.

The only negative things: can't walk to the city and breakfast is too early : from 6:30 to 9:00. Most stay with families and prefer later time, breakfast place becomes very crowded.
