ROADWORKS - Avoid if you use public transport!

DO NOT BOOK this hotel if you intend to use public transport. There are vast amounts of roadworks in the area surrounding the hotel. The nearest bus stop is 20 minutes walk away (and we walk quite quickly!) The walk walk wasn't safe either, as we had to walk on the road in part. Also, on return at night we had to walk on a long path, through a dimly iit park. On check in, the receptionist flippantly advised that we should use taxis (we didnt budget for this added expense!) The nearest supermarket was at least 15 minutes walk away, so we couldn't carry heavy bottles of water back to hotel. Some staff very reluctantly agreed to fill our travel bottles with tap water. However, we were refused at the pool bar, and that was after paying 7 Euros for a fruit juice! I would definitely not recommend this hotel whilst the roadworks continue, and also for the lack of goodwill to providing tap water. This discouraged us from paying for extra meals and snacks there.

Arrived very late after driving from seeing The Boss at Ferrara. Parking excellent, reception excellent and we were even able to order a drink from the bar at silly o'clock. Clean, airy room and very comfortable beds. Great breakfast. Highly recommended

Hotel & staff were fabulous, couldn't do enough for me, esp on Monday the liberation bank holiday & everything near was closed or booked out.
But location is not very good for solo adventurer, it's an hour walk from city centre through some dodgy parts like an old industrial area, truck parks & only 1 other nice restaurant next door in another hotel.

Clean and nice stay

Room keeping was clean, it was smelling nice when we enter the room. Breakfast was good with various kinds of fruit and coffee. Reception assisted us for everything we need. Just we needed to walk a little longer to reach the bus stop, but definitely so clean and nice hotel had to cost higher in the city center.

All very fine - Just ... for me as a world traveler very important: l wasn’t able to use n connect to my VPN - for my security! (Wifi security n quality all over Italy is a nightmare). during my entire stay, surfing in a unsecured web for past 10 days - l got (the bill), a message from Apple, that my iPhone has compromised n immediate action is required! grrr! Mmngt wouldn’t change it asked for on first day of arrival. Television is also restricted. You want be able to switch to original Language, even if the remote control has a button for it ! Once more Mmngt decision - l tried hard ... first hotel in EU l had this issue ... petty! *Multilingual stuff +

Perfect Stay at Hotel Michelino

Hotel Michelino was perfect for our stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help us out on many occasions. We didn’t have a car, but there is a bus stop fairly close to the hotel to get into town. The breakfast was also delicious! I highly recommend staying here if you fancy a short trip to Bologna.

I stayed at Michelino for a stop-over on my way to the Dolomites. The hotel is nice and clean, the room has a big bed, and the bathroom has big shower, everything is very comfortable. The area though is far from everything, so you need a car to go anywhere. But I chose this hotel exactly for the area, because it is extremely easy to get off and on the highway from it, which is what I needed, so it worked great for me.

We had this hotel booked for 3 nights, although our arrival was at 8am so we didn’t really stay the first night.

The staff are pleasant and the location near the motorway with free parking is good.

The breakfast is a pretty poor spread, but ok for this level of hotel.

My biggest problem was the problem with prostitutes.
The area has prostitutes all over. And it seems that they also frequent the hotel as the ones we saw on the street were in the hotel at breakfast.
There is an RV parked outside the hotel which is full of them and the driver was a fairly exposed lady which no one should have to see.

So, we checked out after our 1st full night.

It is a shame, as without the major issue, it would have been ok.

We won’t be staying here again.

Quick check-in and they allowed us to leave our bags even though we were very early. Very conveniently situated for the Fiere convention centre.
Breakfast wasn't great quality, but there was plenty of food available, and the coffee available from reception (not the machine in the restaurant) was good.
Wifi was unsecured, so I felt uncomfortable using it, but this didn't bother me.

I usually stay at the Novotel next door, annual trip to the book fair. Couldn't get in so booked the Michelino and was really impressed. Great staff, comfortable room and decent facilities. Will definitely return next year.

Just off the autostrada, $10-15 cab ride to center, which was well worth not hav8ng to worry about parking and traffic. Great breakfast. Dinner available 8n the hotel most, but not all nights. At least 1 more restaurant nearby, but not much else. Room and bath modern and spacious. Some English tv channels.

Stayed at this excellent hotel for the past 5 years with a small dog and always felt welcomed brilliant breakfast fantastic room.
But this year the young man on reception looked over the desk and said \" Oh you have a dog I will have to move you to a room with no carpet\". Our dog wouldn't ever do anything on a carpet unless it was made of grass and had a tree stuck in the middle.

Spotlessly clean large room just perfect for our late arrival from the airport. 24 hour friendly receptionist. Easy to find from the airport and very close to get onto the A14 in the morning. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but otherwise our stay was extremely comfortable. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Very nice, convenient business hotel

We have spent two nights there before departing from Italy back to Hong Kong. The hotel design is very suitable for those who travel for business. The room is very simple and neat. There is a nice mini restaurant at ground floor so there is no need to travel to the city to fill the stomach after a long day of business activities, though we did not travel for business this time. I would recommend this hotel to those who needs to stay for business in Bologne

Nice hotel...terrible dog!

The hotel is quite far away from central Bologna. A taxi is needed to access the center as driving is not permitted except for residents.

We were kept awake ALL NIGHT by a barking dog next to the hotel. We complained but apparently nothing can be done about this. Because of this situation, we can't recommend the hotel. The hotel itself is fine but the dog situation definitely takes it off our list of places to stay.

Overall, a pleasant hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and informative. The only negative aspect was the hotel restaurant that was overpriced for the quality of the food on offer. Specifically, the house wine was incredibly expensive and only average in quality. Breakfast was typical Italian buffet fare and was reasonable for the price.

Comfortable, modern, quiet hotel. Ordered off the restaurant menu as we were a sufficient enough distance away from anywhere else we liked the look of to eat and didn't regret it. Huge portions! Friendly staff, great bed, large bathroom and stable / quick WiFi. The only real drawback was it's location. Nothing was really within walking distance. Smack bang between the autostrada and a car park.

Great hotel, but you'd need a car if you're staying here and want to reach the centre. Staff was absolutely lovely and we found everyone to be great. Breakfast was pretty good, although the 'hot' part of the breakfast only consisted of scrambled eggs and we would have appreciated perhaps some bacon or sausages to add to the hot portion of the meal. Room was cleaned immaculately. One tip, when a client request a non-smoking room, perhaps don't put them in the room above the entrance where everyone goes to smoke. With the windows open, we felt like we were smoking too. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay here.

Excellent but for Business Travellers

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night in June 2014 and here is what I feel.

Room - The room is excellent. It is moderately sized, ultra clean, has a very nice and clean bathroom equipped with all modern amenities.

Value for money – a great hotel available at a rock bottom cost. Getting a room like that in that price is almost impossible. According to the guideline of this site, I am not putting exact price. But you can see it online. It is really cheap

Location – here is the problem. It is quite far from the city center. The closest bus stop (bus no 35 and 38) is 1 km away and the bus is only available till 8 pm in weekdays and 1.30 pm or so in weekend. If you miss, the only way for you is to take a taxi. Then you end up spending lot of money. If you think you can maintain your schedule within this, then it is fine.

Food – very good. It is cheap and has wide range of choices. I liked it very much

Overall, it is a nice business hotel. If you are going for leisure, then you may also like to explore some other options.

Found this hotel very pleasant. Clean & modern in appearance. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Has free onsite parking. Very close to the motorway & so access is easy. Only slight downside is that it's a little out of town & so you need a car or taxi to reach the centre. Apart from that no problems. Would stay here again.

I like just about everything about this hotel. It did seem that it took the room a while to heat up, but it is January and I'm from Calif. Once it got warm, the room stayed that way. The hotel is not as close to the center of town as I would like, maybe a 12 euro cab ride, and the immediate area doesn't offer much since it is devoted to business and industrial fairs. However, the ride's only 10 minutes, 15 minutes max.

If the staff tells you that you can take a bus from Centrale Station to Via Aldo Moro and then walk to the hotel from there, DON'T! The last kilometer crosses a busy highway where there are no lights or sidewalks. Take a cab.

You'll really like this place! If you love the traditional meat & eggs breakfast, the staff makes it while you wait. Awesome :-)

We usually stay at a different hotel when passing through Bologna, this was a last minute change. Thank goodness we changed our mind, the hotel is well placed for the motorway ( 3 minutes) but quiet. The room and bathroom were a very good size and standard. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will stay again next time we pass Bologna.

Great hotel, slightly unfortunate location

We were really pleased with this hotel, it was a bargain compared to lots that we stayed in during our trip, and the room was one of the best, really large with a really comfy bed and big bathroom. The staff were helpful and the hotel was in a great condition.
If you have a car it's really accessibly into Bologne. You can also take the bus but we had difficulties with this; we couldn't find the stop the staff recommended without walking under the bridge, and the route to the stop involves walking through a red light district which was a bit unnerving on an industrial estate at 10am. You could probably get a taxi into the centre, it's not far, but as we had the car we were really pleased with the hotel. Good value for money.

We stayed here 2 nights during our stay in Bologna. Hotel itself was nice and looked very well maintained, excellent value for the price we got. It is a bit far from the city center if you're there as a tourist, costing either 10 euros for a taxi ride, or a bus ride (reasonably convenient, requires 10 minute walk to stop, does not run on Sundays or after 8pm). The fiera is right there, so of course it's perfect if you're in Bologna for a convention.

Good hotel, just outside the city of Bologna

Very comfortable hotel, with good bed, good shower, and excellent breakfast (hotels.com rates it as 3 stars, but breakfast was definitely 4 starts for me). The only thing I can complain is WiFi: I'm not sure if it was the room that I stayed, but for some things it was slow. REALLY slow. For example google photos took forever to (try to) backup a batch of photos (and could only finish about 5 after 10 minutes) and whatsApp phone calls didn't complete (even the ones with just audio) - text and audio messages worked fine, as well as other use of Apps and computer programs. The hotel is also nearby a road, so it's likely you will pass by it to reach the city - be aware of that.

Café da manhã e restaurante excelente. Jantamos duas noites no hotel porque realmente o custo-beneficio vale a pena! A comida é deliciosa, o serviço excelente e o brinde cortesia é muito agradável! Gostamos muito mais da massa a bolonhesa do restaurante que de restaurantes famosos, como a Osteria de la Fortunata (que, honestamente, não vale a fama: péssimo serviço e massa fria e sem sal). Limpeza do quarto eficiente e troca de toalhas diária. Bolonha é uma cidade difícil de se locomover: apesar de pequena, não funciona bem ir do hotel aos pontos de interesse. Por exemplo, ficamos a 2km do Bologna centre Congress e o caminho a pé era perigoso (rodovia e obras no caminho). Táxi para sair do hotel até funciona (o hotel usa o sistema de voucher e demora em geral 6 minutos para o taxi estar disponível da porta - um dia demorou 15 min), no entanto pegar um taxi na rua é quase impossível e os apps demoram muito. Uber apenas o Black e caríssimo (por ex: 40 euros até o centro historico). Ônibus fora de mão. Estávamos com carro alugado no primeiro dia, mas devolvemos porque o centro fa cidade é área de ZTL...logo, não adianta. Levem isso em conta no planejamento da viagem. Como nosso foco era ficar perto da conferência, escolhemos o hotel. Mas hoje teríamos optado por um flat. Nosso quarto (4401) tem uma ótima vista, porém muito abafado. Durante 3 noites o staff conseguiu regular a temperatura do quarto para 20°C, porém na 4a noite disseram que não havia como porque não há ar condicio

For en med glutenallergi, så var morgenmaden perfekt. Mange valgmuligheder. Hotellet ligger ca. 3,5 kilometer fra midt byen og der er ingen offentlig transport der kommer den vej. Men en rask gå tur. Dejlig hotel, sød personale.

La estancia ha estado genial. La habitación no muy grande pero cómoda, la limpieza todos los días genial, los empleados de recepción super amables,nosotros pedimos algunas almohadas más xq las q habían eran muy bajitas y esa misma noche ya las teníamos en la habitación ,el desayuno muy bien, la piscina con tumbonas muy cómodas. La salida a la autovía super cerca para poder moverte a cualquier parte sin tener q entrar a la ciudad.Para ser un 3 estrellas le doy un 10

Clean and spacious

Nice hotel, helpful staff, clean and spacious. Not much to see or do in the area and no busses, so you have to walk a bit to do anything unless you have a car. Nice pool area at the neighbour hotel.

市の北東部にある巨大見本市会場の近くにあるホテル。
地図で見る限りはすぐそばに鉄道駅とバス停があって交通の便が良いように見えるが、駅は使用されておらず雑草が生え、入口は閉鎖されている。
最寄のバス停があるはずの通りは工事中でバス停が撤去されており、代わりに徒歩で10分ほど離れた住宅街の別のバス停を利用することになる。バス路線は1本のみで午後8時頃には終了してしまう。周辺にはスーパーやレストランが無いので、ホテルに戻る前に買い物や食事を済ませておく必用がある。事実上の｢陸の孤島｣。(2024年5月時点)

ホテル周囲の道路にも歩道の無いところが多く、徒歩による移動は危険。自動車旅行する人向けのホテルのようなので、チェックイン/アウト時の移動はタクシーがお勧め。

内装が綺麗で設備も充実、ヨーロッパのホテルにしては珍しく客室に冷蔵庫と金庫が設置されており、日本のホテルと比べて遜色が無い。しかし私の泊まった部屋がたまたまハズレだったのか、設備に不具合が多い。テレビはたまにしか電源が入らず、入ったとしても3～4時間すると勝手に電源が落ちてしまう。ドアのカードキーは10回ぐらい操作しないと施錠できないので、外出に手間がかかる。窓は蝶番が破損していて開けられず、無理に開けようとすると外れて怪我をするので危険。部屋を変えもらおうとも思ったが、また同じような状態の部屋だったら嫌なのでやめた。
