Nice hotel but location isn’t great

Close to Cersaie

I chose Hotel Imperial because of the close proximity to the fair. It's just 4 km away roughly and an easy drive or taxi ride. The people are very friendly and the entire hotel was very clean and safe. The only negative was the bed being a bit too stiff for me. All in all it was a good value considering Fiera.

Efficient One-Night Stay

This was a one-night stay for three people in a tiny room. We dropped off one person at the airport early the next morning. There was a gym, and the breakfast was plentiful and fresh. There were walking and bike paths outside of the hotel although the area is not scenic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Candy platter at the front desk which is a nice touch. Lobby had a TV and there are a number of areas to linger and wait. Outside chairs and tables of the hotel were sparse. This area could be improved. We liked the bathroom products provided.

Very Rude Receptionist

Overall, Hotel Imperial is a very nice hotel, both the rooms and breakfast were good. Although, it was a comfortable stay, the receptionist Ioli was very rude. We were given a room that smelled of smoke. However, we requested a smoke-free room when we reserved a room. She refused to change the room. She ended up giving a new room after giving us a hard time. She was also caught talking about bad about us with her other co-workers in Italian. Since, we are spanish we understood because of the similarity in language.

Nice hotel in Bologna

Kind staff, clean hotel.

You have to take a bus from Central Station to the hotel. A little weakness to me was the location. Most of the buses in Bologna pass by Central Station. However, this hotel being distanced from the Central Station, you have to transfer to another bus if you want to visit another side of the town rather than having a one time shot.

The Hotel Imperial does what it says on the tin!Bit further out approx 15 Soros by taxi to city centre but buses run regularly from outside hotel 1.5 euros.Just make sure you have correct change for bus driver does not issue tickets or go to Tabacceri to get ticket.If we had known this would have saved us a fine! Reception staff very helpful. Breakfast ok but no evening meal available and d I didn't see bar open in evening or many other guests! Would stay here again.

Nice hotel with wonderful staff

- Wonderful staff, good level of English, tried to help at all times
- Quiet, safe and secluded location with an excellent pizzeria nearby (Rococo)
- No.25 bus directly outside - 15 min ride into centre for $1.50
- Very clean room with good amenities, could be a little better but good quality overall
- Free breakfast 7-10am, lovely food with a brilliant range for vegans and gluten free eaters
- Sound-proof rooms so not noisy at all
- Lighting system a little strange - have to keep key card in wall at all times to ensure lighting

Two nights stay in quiet surroundings. Comfortable beds. Unfortunately, no English TV. Good internet and very helpful staff. Very complete breakfast with fruit, eggs, meat, breads, baked goods, yoghurts, coffee tea and hot chocolate. Very modern decor.

Good for travelers with a car

Booked a standard room but they gave me the economy room at the beginning. Good thing is the staff was helpful in switching my room, but the wifi reception in that room was a disaster, couldn't receive any signal at all.
However the bed was quite comfy and breakfast was nice.
Didn't really like the location coz it would nearly take up an hour everyday to go in and out the city center, even though the bus stop is just right outside the hotel.
Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Great location as a base to tour the North of Italy and easy bus service into Bologna. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast with freshly made cakes and pastries. At the price charged unbeatable!

Old but cool hotel

Very retro hotel but all in fine working order .Staff excellent and helpful. Wonderful breakfast in a room with panoramic views of the little city. Away from hustle and bustle of Florence but close to visit some really cool other sites like Siena and Voltera. It is difficult to find nearby parking so be prepared to work around that.

Nice hotel for the price

I liked the hotel because the installations were clean and in good condition.
Nothing special with the room but it was perfect for my wife and me after a long day visiting the city.
The breakfast is included and very decent options to eat. I enjoyed drinking different type of coffees with the machine available.
The only inconvenience is that it's around 30 minutes away from the city but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel that take you to the city. Also if you are hungry at night not many choices to buy food but there are few pizza places that can deliver to the hotel.
This hotel is good for its price.

I must say,I was very pleased with this hotel.The staff is really friendly and helpful,the food is great and very tasty.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes Italian cuisine and loves drinking Italian coffee. I must say,there is a tiny gym there and it's very nice.

it is a quiet environment. The surrounding is a lot of green. To the exhibition hall, it is around 10-15 mins drive, it is quite close. Services are good. There is nothing around the neighborhood. after working in the exhibition hall, this is an excellent place for me to relax and see the green. But if you are looking for nightlife or shopping, this is not convenient.

Absolutely horrible shower. Scalding, cold, scalding, cold. Inconsisent insecure internet.
Isolated neighborhood with nothing available in walking distance. I stayed there because it was supposed to be walking distance to my destination. Well, nothing was, including this hotel. But it's in an isolated corner of Bologna - one cash machine in the area and it was out of order for the weekend. Hotel staff had no idea where I could find another cash machine, even by taxi.I will not be returning unless I have no choice.

FULL POINTS FOR BREAKFAST!!!

The best hotel I stayed at in hotel,,,,; high points for amazing breakfast which included gluten free choices, organic items, BOILED EGGS, omlettes etc.
high points for cleanliness and comfort.
It is the only hotel at this price that had a fitness center.
The hotel is 5 miles from city center but the #25 bus ( to the trains and city center) stops at the gate of the hotel, which is its last stop. You can buy your bus tickets from the hotel at a cheaper price. There is no shuttle to the airport from the hotel.

Wonderful Hotel

Hotel Imperial was by far the best hotel that we stayed at throughout our trip. It was clean, secure, comfortable, and overall just a great place to stay. The complementary breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very helpful.
As with any hotel, there were a few downsides... The first being that Hotel Imperial is pretty far outside of the city. There is a city bus though, so make sure you take that if you don't have a car, because my friend and I walked 45 minutes from the closest train station. Also, the wifi was very slow in our room, too slow to even bother with, but we just went down and sat in the lobby and it worked perfectly well there. Other than those two little things, Hotel Imperial was excellent, and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

Hotel Imperial is on the edge of the city, but there's a bus stop right outside and regular bus service that goes into the centre. Free parking was great and a taxi into city is 10-12 euro. This might sound weird, but it felt a little like a nursing home/hospital in the corridors and rooms.
We were going to a wedding and needed an iron, the lady at reception told us we couldn't have one for health and safety reasons, which was a bit ridiculous.
There were dogs somewhere nearby that barked all evening and again the morning and the wifi is weak in the rooms
Breakfast was quite good though and was served from 7-10, which is longer than most Italian hotels.
Overall, it was cheap and handy, with free parking. If you're on a budget, it's an ok option.

Recomendations for IMPERIAL Albergo

We are very satisfied with this hotel. Even the location is not so far from center of the town, everything else was on the highest level. Parking is free of charge and large, there were no hidden costs...You, simply wouldn't make a mistake if you decide for this hotel. Specially, we were in Bologna during extreme hot days and air-condition system was in excellent function.
Only, there was some problem with Internet connection, but it may be because of problem in my own computer.

Hotel semplice e abbastanza buono nelle parti comuni, le camere vecchie e mal tenute (mobili rotti, muri strisciati..).
La mia camera aveva la finestra che non si chiudeva, il wifi non funzionava, la colazione era piuttosto misera e poco curata.

La reception è stata ottima dall' inizio alla fine, camera buona a parte l' isolamento sonoro che si sentiva tutto specie la notte ci siamo svegliati alle 02.00 per i rumori e i discorsi che facevano alla camera accanto ( quindi abbiamo dormito poco) appena alzati abbiamo preparato i bagagli e siamo scesi a fare colazione , possiamo dire che la colazione a buffet non era male c' era sia la tradizionale sia quella a tipo americana , ma possiamo dire che i prodotti erano tutti di prima qualità , per finire ( questa per noi era ottima) la fermata del pullman proprio davanti al cancello dell' hotel che ti portava per tutta bologna .

Struttura comoda all’autostrada, personale gentile ma purtroppo nella camera ho trovato molte ragnatele.
Non sono riuscito a regolare il termostato e il letto era solamente con un lenzuolo, anche la coperta che c’era nel cassetto era poco per la stagione

Le personnel est ok. Cependant je nai pas du tout apprécié la chambre encore moins les toilettes très étroits et pas tres propres. Jai connu mieux ds cet hotel et cest la raison pr laquelle jy ss retournee ,grande a ete ma déception.
Lultime aspect que jai déploré est le fait que le listino des boissons soit posé a un endroit tres sombre et caché, du coup cest tres facil3 pour le client de ne pas le noter avant la consommation

Hotel nella media, pulito, poco insonorizzate le stanze ma si riesce a riposare. Comodissima la fermata bus 25 praticamente di fronte all'hotel, se si vuol fare un giro per Bologna ferma alla stazione centrale. Ottimo il parcheggio hotel gratuito, onesti i prezzi servizio bar e frigobar stanza.
Colazione non al top ma qualcosa si trova.
Nel complesso non ci si trova male, servizio reception cordiale.
Va bene per un soggiorno breve (week end)
