The hostel fits the bill for a short stay in Milan. Close to Ca' Granda metro which is on the line to San Siro and easily connected to the city centre lines. Lots of trams nearby as well. The hostel itself is a bit rough around the edges (one lift broken and the other only able to take 3 persons at a time, instantly stopped working as soon a 4th entered and had to use the stairs). However, it is very clean and tidy, air conditioning in the rooms (greatly appreciated when it was 36ºc). Breakfast available which again was well presented.
If you're on a budget and don't mind being just outside the main centre then I would recommend it.
If you do stay here then visit Pratocentenaro restaurant which is only a 5 minutes walk away. The food is absolutely incredible and run by lovely staff.

Todo muy bien. La habitación muy amplia, el personal muy amable. Nos permitieron dejar nuestras maletas antes del check in, lo que nos permitió explorar la ciudad sin problemas. El hotel se encuentra a 8min de la estación de metro y a 3min de la tranvía, por lo que está muy bien conectado. También tenían secadora en la habitación, lo que fue muy útil.

Teníamos dos noches reservadas, pero por problemas con nuestro vuelo, solo pudimos quedarnos una noche. El check-in fue problemático ya que a pesar de haber avisado por varios medios que llegaríamos al día siguiente, nunca nos respondieron. La comunicación con el hotel fue nula. Hoteles.com se comunicó con ellos por teléfono y nos dijeron que no había ningún problema. Sin embargo, al momento de registrarnos aparecíamos cómo \"no show\". Pudimos finalmente solucionarlo pero pasamos un mal rato. A pesar de quedarnos por una noche nos cobraron el impuesto municipal al turismo por dos noches... En fin...

Fabulous hostel in the suburbs of Milan but easily accessible by Metro Line 5 and Tram 5. Hostel was clean, had a comfortable double bed, private bathroom, very fast WiFi and a TV in the room. Highly recommend if you want something that’s affordable and comfortable, with relatively easy access to the centre of Milan

Room smelled quite bad.It might be a toilet pipe thing and was not thoroughly cleaned.
Towels were cleaned.Nice water pressure.
TV with no remote control.We sked twice but after been told that someone would come to hand it to us, still waiting for it.
Breakfast was continental style (no croissants/pastries) with:ham,cheese,lettuce,tomato,sandwich bread and rolls.
Coffee,flavour water (not juice) and boiled eggs.
Some apples.
Toaster broke down so the pancake machine was on (no nice ones though).
Coffee machine also broke down but coffee offered from the cafe area.
It was not hot so no sure if AC worked or not.
Location is great.There is a Carrefour supermarket like 10' walk from the hostel

Did early check with additional fees which was ok. Private Room was of decent size, clean but no charger switch near bed, there was just 1 in bedroom and another in bathroom. Breakfast NOT worth, just 2 types of bread, rolls, basic salad, 2 juices, and just uncut apple in the name of fruits. No self service kitchen. Few public transport options were available between 300-500 meters. Overall property was decent but other facilities were just okayish.

I would not recommend this hotel. The room was dirty upon arrival and was never cleaned during our entire stay — no cleaning services were provided at all. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and despite asking twice at reception for proper towels, we were only given small face towels. The staff claimed they don’t have body towels, which is unacceptable for any hotel. Overall, poor cleanliness, no basic amenities, no room cleaning, and unhelpful service — a terrible experience in Milan.

We chose the hotel for the facilities- especially the Outdoor swimming pool and lounges. It would have been handy to know previously that ‘seasonal swimming pool’ meant that it wouldn’t be open until 1st June and similarly with the sun lounges.

On checking in, we had booked a room accommodating 2 beds ( superior king and sofa bed) when checking for the 2 beds, it was changed to just a standard twin and one staff member inferred that it could have been rectified if only we had booked direct even though the space and cost was different- unhelpful to say the least!

The best one was when we had unpacked all our belongings to discover that the staff member checking us in, had made an error and we had to repack everything and relocate to a room further up the corridor, with a car park view, 10 minutes later. However, as an apology, we were given a drink voucher.

We didn’t use the restaurant, as it was very limited in accommodating dietary requirements and although teas and coffees were provided in the room, we had to buy our own dairy and dairy free milk or told to buy coffees from the bar!

Each day we had to go to reception to ensure our keys would allow us back in the room, as they would never work.

The room was adequate and cleaned well. Staff were helpful at phoning taxis for us and the location was close to metro, tram and bus stops to get into the centre. It is a hotel that is useful as a base, rather than a holiday style hotel as insinuated in the photos.

Having read a lot of negative reviews and having visited the Novotel in Paris in January (which was truly fantastic) I was nervous about my stay so wanted to leave this honest review as yes the rooms are quite small and could do with an update, and the outside area desperately needed the grass cutting but the staff, breakfast and accessibility to the metro were all fantastic. The only real point I’d make is that we travelled with our two young children and there is nothing to do around the hotel aside from a gelato shop (Milky Way - which you must try) so if like our kids you end up back at the hotel quite early maybe consider somewhere a bit more built up.

The staff where generally helpful. The cafe staff were particularly good and are the primary reason that I am not giving 2 or 3 stars. Room floor was very wet for almost 24 hours after arrival. The shower floor edge had a bunch of mold that would have been easily cleaned with some bleach. The outside courtyard with a fountain had broken glass all over and is not safe for children.

The hotel is a little tired on the guest room level and could do with some freshening up. The air conditioning needs to be upgraded as it didn’t really provide effective cooling.
Unfortunately the pool doesn’t open until June, so that wasn’t an option to have a cooling swim.

It was the worst ever Novotel hotel i have ever stayed in Either Europe/USA/India/Asia Pacific.

The receptionist said that the AC was not working because the General Manager closed it & went home. The breakfast
was so horrible that they also could not serve on omlette.The rooms were smelly. Overall people should avoid at all cost . They charged Euros 239 per night which is criminal for such pathetic services

Hotel nice, rooms ok. Pool is FREEZING. Middle of august and it was ICE COLD! Not pleasant!! Reception staff very helpful but evening bar man was rude and also didn’t know how to make cocktails, plus one elevator was out so we were told to use service elevator, only for a housekeeping woman to get in and SHOUT at us! Very rude. We made a formal complaint about her. Metro is close and takes 30 mins to get to Duomo (main square).

This was good value when booked and I suppose for a base it was acceptable but it is cheap and basic. Air con did not cool the room and we were there in 38 degree heat. The surrounding area leaves a lot to be desired and barely anything open for food snack & drinks. Nothing of an evening to do locally. Everything in the local area was shut down and looked derelict with graffiti everywhere (this is common in Italy) Rooms extremely basic and gym poor. Swimming pool small and very basic. The hotel looked more like a cheap Motel. I would only rate at 2.5 stars to be honest. The staff were friendly in the main and the breakfast was excellent value for money and the the quality was good. We did not eat of an evening in the hotel so can not comment. To get into the centre of Milan cost approx 15 to 20 euros each way depending on the taxi. We noticed when the hotel called for a taxi the driver obviously charged from their initial destination as each taxi had different values on the clock when they arrived. Only worth staying here if you like basic accommodation. The property could do with a lot of TLC.

It was a good hotel however, the are not many restaurants around the hotel so you’ll have to go to the duomo. Also, the pool open at 10 and closes really early at 7pm which is a shame. There were ants in our room every day. Also, they had an ironing room but the iron was not working and they didn’t show us how to use it. The breakfast is really good and delicious. The beds were comfy. The shower was annoying because the water kept dripping out of it.

Hotel's location is great and within few minutes of walk to subway. Clean hotel with nice rooms.
Staff on the other hand was not aware of any hotel policies and appeared that they were pulling the policies on the fly.

We got three different piece of information on the hotel child/adult policy which was confusing and not inline with Expedia which is where the booking was made.

At checkin we were told that 18 and under are free for breakfast with paying adults. In the restaurant we were told 12 needs to pay and on the front desk once again when enquired the age limit was 16 needs to pay. There was no consensus on the information which was annoying.

We enjoy the area and the easy access to Duomo and other tourist attractions. Close to trains, and other public transportation. I highly recommended it.

We had bad well come from reception man and the room had no luggage table and the water cycle was block and many things.
