The room had several issues that made the stay uncomfortable. The door used an unusual lock system with latches on the outside, which created an unsafe feeling of get locked inside. The AC and TV remotes didn’t function properly, especially the volume controls. The shower relied on a gas heater, making the water temperature difficult to regulate, and the drain didn’t flow well, causing the entire bathroom to flood during use. At night, constant dripping sounds from the toilet and shower made it hard to sleep. Overall, the room needs significant changes.

This place is a dream. The whole building is a photo-op. So comfortable. Amazing service. Everything was gorgeous. Yummy breakfast with beans, eggs or crepes, fruit, labneh, pita, juice and coffee.

Excellent, charming hotel. Wonderful experience. The only issue was that the taxi driver was unable to find it. To get there from the main road at 1AM was challenging. Small streets are like a maze the first time you walk. Daytime is no problem, and if you walk a few times, there's no issue. Better signage at the taxi drop-off point would be helpful.

I really loved the cafe, where you could have a refreshing lime mint drink or watermelon juice drink. The room I stayed in was cute and perfect for my needs. The fruit plate was a perfect welcome gift. I wish I had stayed longer.

I really wanted a more Arabic experience on this trip to Dubai. I could not have been more pleased. The staff couldn’t do enough for me. The location is perfect for a quiet 90min walk at night. I had a single room, small but comfortable. I needed to be in the main bar area for WiFi to work but it was no issue and the staff kept the tea coming. Brilliant. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing boutique hotel in the middle of historical district of Al Fahidi. We wanted to take a break from the steel and glass high rises and didn’t regret it. The hotel is combined with cafe and art gallery. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in cafe is lovely. All rooms are designed in different traditional style. We had room 10, designed in Turkish tarboosh theme. The location can’t be more perfect to explore old Dubai. We were able to walk to Al Seef. The Al Ghubaiba ferry station and Al Fahidi metro is also nearby, so we could travel to business district and Burj Khalifa by metro and to Marina by ferry and Deira soul by abra. Will be definitely come back!

The place is hard to find. Taxis don't know exactly where it is. You have to walk around the historic site to find it. The rooms are clean. You really have to like rustic looks to appreciate this place. If you want modern amenities, this place is not for you. They had Perrier water and regular water in the fridge..no mention of costs associated for the Perrier..then they charged nearly$15 Canadian for 2 small bottles of Perrier which I found to be totally out of the norm. overall good spot

The XVA is a very interesting place. If you choose, know that it is located in a fully pedestrian area, so your taxi cannot take you to them, you will have to be dropped off on the main road and then walk in a little. Not a bad thing, if you know it in advance! The room we got had all we needed and was really clean with working zircon (you need it), however, based on the photos on their page we expected something a little less crammed. That said, our son had a very comfortable armchair-bed, which he loved, and we slept well in our bed. Overall a very good experience, and the neighbourhood was full of flavorous from the Middle East and the East, which we loved.

This is a brilliant hotel away from all the tourists ad hussle and bussle of Dubai, it is an oasis’s within the city. The property is a short taxi ride to all major attractions in Dubai, and the taxis are frequently near the property as it is near the Dubai fort and grand Mosque. The staff are brilliant and the meals fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel is you wanted to visit Dubai but did not want to stay in a commercial hotel. By the way great locals art boutiques within walking distance of the hotel.

We had a lovely visit to the XVA Art Hotel, and the nearby Sheikh Mohamed Cultural Center. It was too hot to explore much else in the area, but we had a nice evening and a fabulous breakfast.

This was our third stay at XVA. We've stayed in three different rooms. All very clean, comfy, aesthetically pleasing. Staff are friendly. Great neighborhood if you want something different from the typical destinations (souks on both sides of the Creek), but also within easy metro access of Dubail Mall, Burj, etc.

When a boutique hotel is featured in many travel guides you wonder if they're exaggerating, but once you visit this hotel you see why. Very atmospheric - I'm not sure if it's authentic per se, but certainly very well designed (from interior down to the room upholestry) to evoke a rustic relaxing feel. I had a single room which was small but had most things I need and more including bathrobe and slippers. Came with welcome fruit platter too. The surroundings are very atmospheric too, being in Al Fahidi / Bastakiya district. Only minus - may be hard to locate in the district, and some distance away from the Metro. Taxi drivers not familiar with this hotel and nearest drop off point is on the main road.

A Taste of Old Dubai - but with Modern Comforts
I wanted to stay in the old part of the city away from the glitz and razz of modern Dubai - the XVA Art Hotel was a great find. Friendly staff and I enjoyed the style of the hotel. I stayed in a single room which was tastefully furnished and comfortable. The air conditioning and fan certainly help. The vegetarian menu is tasty and delicious - try the mint lemonade.

Our first visit to Dubai was made memorable mainly by our accommodation. It was a traditional type house converted into a hotel in the old heritage part of city. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was also a resident cat which made us feel at home. I can highly recommend the mint lemonade to quench your thirst in the Dubai heat.

Nice and neat place. Unique layout like an enclosed old Arab villa hotel. Cabs easy to get. Old souq and boats are an easy walk. Art all over with themed rooms. Friendly staff. Only 3 gripes. One the place isn't visible from the road so the cab didn't know where it was. It is in the fahidi sector that looks like a themed small alley shop sector so you walk in a bit then right. Once found it is fine. Two the bur Dubai area has some pretty tough car traffic so during rush hour and such it can take a long time to get out. Three some areas in the hotel are low ceiling and for a 6 foot person I hit my head a few times. That concrete is hard so pay attention. Sort of my fault but three days later it still hurts a bit. If under 5 foot 10 inches you are probably good to not worry. I would stay again. Never been in a place like that before.

Gorgeous boutiuque hotels sans parking
Gorgeous, cozy, and charming boutique hotel. Beautiful art and beautifully curated. However the \"free self parking\" listed on hotels.com is not true as the hotel as zero parking and its located in a very busy area of Dubai so I hated looking for parking. This is an ideal spot for a staycation or if you are traveling by hotel. Also wifi is super spotty. This is an easy fix for the hotel by simply buying stronger wifi. I would stay here again if i was car free

I liked this place because it was small, helpful staff and I could really feel at home by walking out of my room into the quiet and shaded courtyard away from the chaos that is modern Dubai. The river is a block away for lovely walks and the restaurants in the area are plentiful and very good. Easy and short commute from the airport too.

Hotel is cute. In the pictures the hotel looks much better than in-person. I always stay at boutique hotels when traveling out of the country; however, my issue with this one is that it is not a typical Dubai hotel. It's like going to Texas and staying in a Moroccan hotel. Again, very cute but not authentic in today's Dubai.

Great overall experience! Moses (manager) and Harshini (front service) were great and welcoming. Tarboosh (google it) room was very spacious with good amenities. Cafe food was awesome! Definitely fits the definition of a boutique hotel; not sure why it is only rated less than at least 4-stars. It was an experience that kept a smile on my face and peace in my mind. Try it - you will love it.
