The Sana is one of the nicest hotels in this lovely town. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast buffet was very good with many options. The room was a bit small and a bit dated, but the view from the balcony was beautiful. The cons (which are really nit picky) are that there is a bright light on the balcony that is on all night so you have to keep the blackout drapes closed, and the hair dryer is insufficient. We recommend bringing your own hair dryer if that is important to you. There are so many dining options in walking distance and the town and beach are just so beautiful. The rooftop pool is spectacular!! We highly recommend this hotel and would stay again!

Wonderful hotel, highly recommend

This is a wonderful, well situated hotel. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed, even though a couple of extra sockets (for charging our devices) would have been great. The breakfast was amazing with vide variety of literally everything - pastries, cereals, fruit, fried foods, coffees and juices, cold meat cuts and cheese. The beach is literally just across the small street and is very clean. We would stay at Sana Sesmbra again, without a moment's hesitation.

Good: helpful staff, great sea view from balcony. Average : the swimming pool for kids only - just 0,90m deep. Not so good: few amenities, hotel interior tired and dated, underground parking a challenge for a larger car. Bad: breakfast edible, but should have been better at the price.

Had a lovely stay for just over a week. Cleanliness was really good and all the staff were fairly friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was good quality and varied but didnt changed much day to day so got quite boring (beans, mushroom, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon etc.).

Fantastic location, great ocean view, excellent service, and a delicious breakfast. My only concern was with the shower, which was lukewarm on two of my three nights. When I reported it to the front desk, they explained that it was due to high demand at the same time, but this didn’t make sense, as it wasn’t a busy season. For a four-star hotel, I’d expect a reliable hot water supply regardless of occupancy. Overall, though, a great experience with just this one small issue.

Spacious hotel, nice pool and rooftop area with great view, and very easy to access the beach and rest of the town. Staff are friendly and informative and provided proper instructions for breakfast service, airport shuttle (taxi), and laundry service. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with many options. However, there weren’t many easily accessible electrical outlets in the room so had to unplug the lamps and move bedside tables in order to charge phones. Overall, great location and great service and cannot wait to visit again!

Amazing location and their great staff is what made our stay wonderful here.
Loved the roof top pool and jacuzzi.
The sea view is well worth it but be careful there are a handful of rooms that face the ocean but have no balcony, while all the rest have them. They are marketed the same though, we asked to be moved when noticed our assigned room came with none.
Rooms were fine although a tiny bit dated. Our only complaint is the lack of plugs in the room. We found 2 total and very inconveniently placed.
Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice.
We would definitely stay here again.

The photos are deceiving. This hotel, albeit in a nice location, is extremely dated-from amenities, rooms, and some of interior funishings-the establishment is in need of a total overhaul. The photos of the ‘pool’ and jacuzzi…pool does not look like the night shot as shown on Expedia…and I feel this was intentionally done-and it’s only less than 3ft! The jacuzzi looks like a good cleaning is needed.
The standard room itself is overpriced (for roughly the same price but with more space and a view of the ocean, you can stay at Sesimbra Oceanfront instead! I’ve stayed there as well and it’s polar opposites of Sana). Upon walking into my room, the first thing you see is a um, disturbing ‘stain’ on the carpet (I have photos) and it doesn’t look like management did any attempt to clean. The property manager should be ashamed and not have left this room to be available! In the middle of the evening, I walk into a bathroom, almost slipping, to a wet leak in the floor. Lastly, one of the bartenders at the pool level was extremely snide and rude when we mentioned that the he beers served us were flat. All he said was ‘it’s ok I tasted and it’s good.’ I guess hospitality etiquette wasn’t his forte. Nonetheless, one can find a better venue than Sana. Not all lost but definitely needs a lot of improvement from the outdated decor and furnishings to some of the staff as well. I did not report any of this aforementioned things to mgmt as there were no other rooms left and I only stayed 1nt.

Great location but can use an upgrade.

The hotel was a bit tired. The staff was friendly and very helpful, but the room had really dirty carpet, so I was prompted to buy slippers to go in and out of bed. The relation to the sink and toilet was a bid odd. The sink counter covered the toilet a bit so you had to slip under it to go to the bathroom. I am 5, 2” so I was able to manage but imagine it can be challenging for others. The pool area was ok, again a bit tired and dirty.

After a small delay in check in we received our room. It was located by the boiler rooms and was quite noisy on the first night so we were switched to a different room with no hassle. The roof top terrace is perfect for sunbathing and great views of the beach. We had the set meal in the evening which was amazing quality and good value for money.

We upgraded to room with a sea view and the room was lovely exactly like the images. On the small side but the balcony view made up for it . The bathroom grout was discoloured but room service was regular and reliable. The staff are super friendly and go out there way to help you. Sesimbra had all you need for a beautiful holiday . Great location, right on front of the beach - just cross the street. My room was larger than expected and with a balcony facing the ocean. The view was amazing.
The breakfast buffet is also great with lots of variety and i really enjoyed the daily mimosas 😀 I had lunch in the terrace by the pool and everytning they recommend was very good. For dinner, there are a lot of options around, if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
But above all, the staff was wonderful. They all go out of the way to help you and make you feel welcome. Especially the front desk staff - thank you, thank you, thank you!

When back in Sesimbra, for sure this will be my hotel of choice!

Location is very unique. Hotel is clean, well-organized, rooms are nice. Views are amazing. And staff is very friendly and helpful! I was checking out at 3:15am for an early flight and had a friendly conversation. He looked and me and asked if I wanted coffee before driving at this early hour. He went, prepared an espress and we chatted some more. Haven't experienced such before and I do travel a lot. Kudos for Sana Sesimbra!

Lovely room with sea view and balcony. Couldn’t be beaten on that account. Would have liked a bottle of water replaced daily in the room. Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast would have been a nice touch. I didn’t like the bottled “fresh” juice available. The staff were all very obliging and the cleaner was excellent. The pool was lovely and warm but my husband found a number of bits of long hair floating in the pool suggesting perhaps that the filtration rate is not as good as it should be. Apart from these few things everything else was excellent and I would certainly come again but have been slightly put off going in the pool.

The property was in a wonderful location right at the beach. The pool was excellent. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. The rooms are in need of updating. Our AC was not working the first day but there were no other rooms available because they were sold out. They eventually offered to move us to a suite but said it was also not cool in that room so we stayed and slept with the doors open to the balcony since it was cooler outside than indoors. They were able to fix it the next day fortunately.

Everything was perfect except the air-conditioning in the room which was barely cooling.

I thought the bathroom needed refurbishing, looked very old and tired.
The breakfast, although plentiful and a good variety of food items on offer, the hot breakfast was not hot, it was luke warm at best due to the dishes being prepared and left on the hot plates for guests to help themselves and we were not late for breakfast we were in the dining room for 08.30.
The sea view from the bedroom was spectacular.

Very comfortable bed, great views. Staff is very helpful. The pool and rooftop lounging areas are nice. The location here is very accessible to the town and beach. I wouldn't consider the hotel as having parking since they say only a tiny car will fit. There is a car park at the end of the road that they should just direct people to. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Loads of choices. Drinks in the skybar are expensive by Portugal standards unless you just get house wine or beer in which case it's only about double the going rate.

Restaurant staff are slow and the lunch food, pasta dish ,was costly and not well prepared.Parking and excess to beach is very good. They are priced higher than close by , Atlantita Mar Hotel. Which is a much better stay .

A very nice hotel with a great location on the beach.
The parking is very expensive-12 euros a night.
The receptionist told us about free parking about 7 minutes walk away,which we used every day and there were always spaces.
It was my 70th birthday during our stay,and had mentioned it on the booking and also to the receptionist when we arrived.
Thought I might have got a bottle of something in the room,but nothing happened.
Was very disappointed,as I thought a 4 star hotel would have done something.
Also the 1st night we were given a room without a balcony as requested,but they they did change our room the 2nd night,but it caused a lot of disruption unpacking cases.
These might be little things but I think the hotel needs to take note.
It didn't stop us enjoying our holiday,and had a wonderful time.

We stayed in different Sana hotels, and this one was really sad. In front of the waterfront, charming beautiful location needs very well renovation. Rooms are so narrow so we couldn't walk through. Pictures on the website are done so good that you want to book, but when you enter the room feeling is that you are back in 00's. We were trying to find the switch for the bedside lamp(only one) for 20 minutes: and after proper search we found one behind the pillow :( of course during the night while we were sleeping we managed to turn all lights on several times. Quite interesting location for the switch.
Hairdryer is so old that we even didn't bother to make him work, and let him stay on the pension. Most irritating thing for me was overpriced drinks in the bar: milkshake cost same as an alcohol cocktail, Gin tonics with good Gin cost more then 15Euro. We come from Danmark and 15Euros here costs Champagne long island ice tea not 4cl Gin Tonic.
Besides all that pity wedding anniverasary vacation stay in Sana Sesimbra, the staff are great, always happy to help and always smile. Thank you guys.

Hotel is located directly opposite the beach close to all the restaurants and bars. The rooms are spacious with a large comfy bed. Some parts of the hotel could do with a little updating when you looked closely but it was still a very enjoyable stay.

The best thing about this hotel is its location which is 10/10. What is least good is very very tiny keep fit area and sauna and steam are so tiny like just for two people. Now regarding confortable sleep, its 50/50 as the walls are not think enough that you can hear TV playing from the other room at night. But the charm of Portuguese staff are really great and welcoming....

Although a short visit it was very enjoyable

Great location with a variety of restaurants close by, we didn’t eat dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was great. All staff were very attentive and friendly. Sadly the weather was not too great on our short visit so we made good use of the indoor pool area. To wake up and make a tea or coffee in the morning would have been good but there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room although if you go down to the restaurant and ask for tea and coffee pots to take back up the staff are more than happy. A beautiful town in a great location.

We spent two nights at the Sana hotel for our 6th Wedding Anniversary and it was a lovely, relaxing break from start to finish. The breakfast is fresh and tasty with several different options each morning and the selection is very good also. We slept super well and the black out curtains in the rooms are fantastic. The pool is absolutely amazing and to have a cappuccino at the bar is only €2.00. I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel to family and friends and it's very likely we will be returning.

Great place for a lazy time

Hotel was in a great location, unfortunately the parking is limited so it's just luck whether they have a space. Plenty of pay and display around though. Swimming pool on the roof is amazing. Staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is very busy so avoid the late rush at 10am.

The hotel was lovely, close to many amenities, especially the beautiful beach. The roof top pool was not really ameanable to service or use.

Great hotel and lovely location

Great hotel in an amazing beachfront location with a local feel and not too 'touristy'. Close to restaurants and bars. Amazing view of the beach from the 6th floor pool and sunbathing area.
