We paid for a one room with kitchenette and they said they didnt have such a room. They but us in a single room without a kitchenette then they changed us to a single room with kitchenette not one that we booked. They said your information is incorrect and have never had a one bedroom with kitchenette. Very disappointed. Paid too much for the room we received

The rooms were clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Only complaint - there was not much water pressure and the water was not that hot. For the wonderful view and other comforts, it was well worth the stay. Will come back to the Ester Lee Oceanview Inn.

The Ester Lee is a neat historic motel in Lincoln City. The views of the Ocean are awesome! The room was updated for the age of the motel. A few of the furnishings were a bit worn and the bathroom could use a remodel and it had no fan. Overall we enjoyed our stay. My biggest complaint is that I paid for a 2 bedroom Cottage Deluxe w/Kit, Ocean Pet Friendly that slept 5 with 2 queens and a twin and when I checked in this is not the room I was given. I told the front desk staff that I got the wrong room and she said they are changing the twin beds over to sleeper sofas and that they put me in the correct room. This is false advertising or a case of bait and switch as a sleeper sofa is not the same as a 3rd bed. I feel like I overpaid for the room I got so be aware if booking this room!

Kind staff, clean room and beautiful view. The only complaint is that one of the blinds were broken in our room so we could not enjoy the full ocean view. Also there is no coffee in the lobby as mentioned. Wonderful comfortable stay overall.

Great stay! Only thing was that the heat was on when we arrived and the temperature was 93 degrees. Don’t know why but the maintenance guy stopped by and was very apologetic about leaving the heat on. It did take most of the evening to get the heat out of the place. I will book another stay in the future.

This room was great, staff great. You should not put children upstairs. The first day they ran for 5 hours above our head, yes 5 hours. Sounded like a herd of elephants. The view is great! Based on view it's a 5!

The view from room 217 is outstanding and I will look for that room again upon our next visit. This is an older motel, no elevator but has a full kitchen and seperate bedroom. Some road noise but it's not bad. Takes a couple of minutes for the hot water to get to the faucets and I think the shower is possessed. Difficult to find a comfortable temperature and will go ice cold if someone uses the hot water from another room.

Main bed was on a roller frame, that still had the wheels on it, so the bed moved constantly, even when just moving in bed. This place is fun, and quaint, but the cottages are in need of renovation. Bathroom was very small--I would have gladly sacrificed some room in the bedroom or living room for a larger bathroom. The living space is huge, but you could expand the kitchen and bathroom and still have lots of room. None of this would keep me from staying again. But some who are pickier than me might feel different.

It would have been fine except that the only heat source was a gas fireplace and it took 3 hours to get the room up to 67 degrees. There were old baseboard heaters that did not function. We were cold most of the time. The manager did try to help but she couldn’t figure out even how to work the remote control for the gas fireplace.
There was a huge storm our second night and the electricity went out throughout the entire city so in the end we were glad we at least had the gas fireplace.
My friend had stayed here a couple of months prior and she said she also had the same problem with being cold.
Great place other than that if you want a great view and don’t mind a place that needs updating.

The good: nice cottage on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous view of the beach. The cottage is spacious and has a kitchen, a dining area, and an electric fireplace.

The not-so-good: the staff is a mixed bag--some are friendly, but the lady doing the the night shift didn't even say hello. There is no housekeeping unless you specifically ask for it. And when I asked for late checkout, they gave me a whopping 30 minutes.

Parking was limited if you were staying on the “cottage” side of the property and you weren’t allowed to park on the motel side.
Their definition of a cottage is not the same as mine it was a room attached to a main building. The actual cottages were lower and not mentioned in the reservations. So maybe call if you are wanting a cottage. Also there were bugs in our room so we had to be relocated. Glad we only stayed the one night.

This is definitely an older establishment but you just can't beat the amazing view! The appliancesay be old, but the bed is comfy, the shower is hot and the staff is friendly. And you aren't going to find a better price for such an amazing view.

If you are looking for a 5 (or even 4 star) luxury hotel... This is not it. But if you are looking for a nostalgic place with everything you need for a relaxing stay with a beautiful view. You can't go wrong.

This was an…interesting experience. Somewhat charming throwback of a hotel, yet obviously dated.
Beverly at check-in was super sweet. When we got to our room and realized it was nothing like what we had booked, she offered to show me a couple other options. Know that there are many room layouts and what you see online is probably not what you’ll get.

Bed was clean and comfortable.

If you’re on the bottom floor, expect to see maintenance and housekeeping walking by your windows rolling bins of laundry and using equipment throughout the day.
The shrubs need a good trim in order to make it a true oceanfront experience, otherwise you will only see the horizon.

We had trouble with the heater/fireplace. Anytime we flushed the toilet it gurgled up through the shower drain and flooded the floor under the toilet. Maintenance came in a timely fashion, but I don’t believe this was a one time occurrence just for us.
Taking a shower proved tricky in that the drain clogged up very quickly so you were ankle deep in the water. Very gross.
The kitchen had all we needed as far as utensils, but just two of each regarding plates, bowls, cups. A couple more sets would’ve been helpful.
Coffee filters would be a nice addition for those who bring their own coffee. Otherwise, prepacked Folgers filters are supplied.
All in all, wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

I want to complain that there was nood a good check in system. the motel closed at 8 pm and they called me with instructions about where to find the key but it was not clear enough and we had to spend time looking for the key and it was late and i was tired. then, there was no hot water and we could not shower. we left as soon as we woke and had to find hot water elsewhere.

Do not stay in basement cottage 121. The stairway is littered & filthy, the handrail too low, and the rainwater/sand pools up by the door with nowhere to drain. I had to sweep it all out myself. Good thing it wasn't raining. It's like the room where they would send their least favorite stepchild.
Very uncomfortable furniture, seats only three. No coffee table or reading lamps, room layout very awkward. I'm a short person, and the beds were way too high. Not enough blankets or pillows, brrr. The only way to heat the apartment was the electric fireplace in the living room, so we had to leave the bedroom door open.. Glad I brought a little space heater for the bathroom. Not enough utensils or plates. No way to step out onto the patio. I'm sure the other cabins were better than this one (each one is a little different).
I really did appreciate the free wifi, and how accommodating they are for dogs with a nice grassy dog potty area that includes a doggie bag dispenser & trash can inside the little rain shelter, and extra linens for them to sit on inside the room. The maids do an excellent job of cleaning, and the desk clerk was really nice.
The motel is at the top of a cliff, but there is access to the beach a couple blocks downhill. Be prepared for a steep walk back up the road. Be aware of the tide tables, because high tide can sometimes come all the way up to the stairs. Don't get trapped down there!
I miss the old retro Ester mannequin in the lobby.

Parking was good. Fireplace is electric. Note there is no sofa, bath tub or hair dryer. The beds are very high. I awoke several times the first night to my dog crying because he couldn't get on the bed. I moved an arm chair to the bed on night 2.Very noisy as close to 101.
