Disappointing, Misleading, and Poorly Managed. I booked Hotel OR through Expedia during a trip to Colombia and my experience was extremely disappointing. Due to a medical emergency caused by an attempted robbery in Medellín that resulted in a serious knee injury, I was forced to change my travel dates. I contacted Expedia immediately and asked only that my hotel stay be moved to match my revised flights, not refunded, and was open to reasonable fees. The hotel was extremely difficult to reach and when contact was finally made, management refused any flexibility. I was charged for a four-day stay I physically could not attend and ultimately ended up paying for the same hotel twice in good faith, assuming the second booking would be refunded. It was not. When I arrived in person to resolve the issue, the manager was cold, dismissive, and unhelpful, making no effort to acknowledge the situation. The condition of the hotel was also poor, with visible mold that appeared to have been painted over rather than properly addressed, raising concerns about cleanliness and health standards. Between the lack of empathy, rigid policies, and substandard conditions, this stay fell far below expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting professionalism or basic customer care.

When I arrived and attempted to resolve this in person, management was cold, dismissive, and denied any communication from Expedia. The room conditions were unacceptable. The first room shown was dirty and clearly not what I paid for. The second room did not match the advertised photos. There was visible mold on walls and under the air conditioner, bugs in the room, no hot water, a broken TV, a non-functioning safe, and no refrigerator despite being listed. Bedding consisted of only a sheet and small throw. Amenities were also misleading. The advertised “full breakfast” does not exist; there is no buffet and basic items cost extra. The rooftop breakfast area appeared unhygienic. The pool was cloudy, dirty, and unusable, and there is no hot tub despite listings suggesting otherwise. This property is poorly maintained, misleadingly advertised, and managed with little regard for guests. I would not recommend it.

It is in the area of the city you want to be in near the waterfront (but not right on the beach).
The price is good.
The rooms are ok, but nothing spectacular, but i don't need spectacular in a room. I just need to \"sleep\"

The staff were all super friendly and nice! I could leave my room key with them as I went out each day, my room was large and very clean. The pool was smaller than the pictures indicated but there were chairs around it to relax. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and most tours would pick up from it as well.

A hotel itself is pretty basic the breakfast very basic. The staff on the other hand were very accommodating very nice. They upgraded my room because the first room they put me in was very small and smelled terribly. I could recommend this hotel if you’re just looking for basic accommodation and not luxury it is a good value and it’s conveniently located next to everything.

This place isn’t for tourists !!!
As i came in. Big sign on elevator not working.
I changed room due to bad smell. In the other room air conditioning wasn’t working so at 2am i was offered a room at the 4th floor no elevator. Now good luck moving your staff.
Next day i asked a free night they refused and willing to give only half price on another night.
Thanks to orbitz that saved me from that place.
No hot water !!! What ?? They said in few days they’ll fix that…. Yea right like the elevator. Poor bedding. Internet disconnect all the time.
Breakfast is a joke. Horrible. You wait 20 min until they talk to you. Antz all over tables.
Not safe. At night only 1 worker at reception that can get easily to your room.
The woman asked me not to write bad review but im sorry. I have to warn other ppl not to trap into this place.
STAY AWAY as you can. Cheers.

Ac and shower was great after a long week in the islands . Staff very nice . They sent out my laundry great price . Pool was a nice addition. Only reason not 5 stars is because elevator was broke and carrying luggage to floor 3 was hot and hard. Location is great food and fun and beach right there

Nice street view from balcony (but I think only two apartments with balcony so maybe I got lucky). Breakfast is purposely cooked for you and good quality, so not unlimited buffet.
Central, lots to do nearby, near restaurants, transport, beach, gym, shops. Cooler and fridge in room was surprisingly good. Secure building because no visitors allowed and reception very small.
Very noisy area nearly all night/morning, no blackout blinds, no “do not disturb/clean” tag for door, none of the staff speak basic level of English. Overall, you get what you pay for (so don’t compare to Hilton or Caribe down the road) and if you don’t mind the night noise and speak a little Spanish then a good choice for travelling on a budget and I would return but most probably bring something to temporarily blackout windows.

This hotel has its pros and cons:

Pros:

-If you're seeking an affordable place within a short walking distance to the beach, this hotel is an excellent choice. Boca Grande beach is just a 3-5 minute walk away.

-The neighborhood is safe and offers convenient access to amenities like banks, shops, and restaurants. It's also easy to find transportation to the city center within 10-20 minutes.

Cons:

- While they provide daily room cleaning, the sheets won't be changed unless you specifically request it.
- The air conditioning doesn't have an automatic shut-off, leading to uncomfortably cold nights, especially since there are no comforters.
- Curiously, they keep tight control over the towels, as if they're afraid they'll be stolen. Your towels often disappear as soon as you step out.
- The hotel enforces numerous rules, giving the impression of being confined in a restrictive environment such as a jail.
For each visitor you have, there's a charge of 70,000 COB before they're allowed to enter your room. This policy applies even if it's just a brief 1-hour massage, which can become quite costly if you have many friends visiting. Additionally, the staff's attitude towards visitors can be quite impolite.
- Complimentary bottled water is not provided.
- The breakfast experience is quite underwhelming and minimal. However, considering the price you pay, it's acceptable.

In conclusion, I would not choose to stay there again. Best of luck in your decision-making.

The bedsheets feel like sand paper, there's no comforter. The shower was freezing cold. The elevator and TV weren't working. I had to commit to a specific time for breakfast when I checked in but still ended up waiting 20 min for my breakfast to be served. Overall, the location is great but the place is run down.

Owner needs to restock towels and bed linens

Owner needs to restock with new bath towels. Towels look like they have not been replaced for about 5 years. Towels they currently have on stock or use show stains of unknown liquids. Seems that owner has not replaced bed linens either. Have noticed that after room is made housekeeping use the same linens as the night before and not replace with new clean linens.

I was on vacation and departed very early from Santa Marta to Cartagena on my own. Expected to have a good night of sleep after travelling by bus several hours and walking all day long. I took a pill for sleeping to be sure I would not be bother for any noise, until the phone started ringing. They stopped as soon as I answered and couldnt sleep again. When I complained with the receptionist the next morning, he just said that there were some drunk people calling the guests. And added \"dont worry, tonight you will sleep ok because they are gone\"!!!! No more comments.

I explained that it was the tip for the room service and she took it and put in her pocketbook. Shameful’

Worst Hotel i ever stayed and will tell all my friends who travel to that country when that name pops up, turn off the computer immediately or restart their phone. I wasnt able to have no guest, they had 3 water in my fridge and then told me was 4 when i checked out and had to pay.

I liked the location a lot, and the room was very comfortable and clean. I didn't like the fact that I had asked if they could charge me a couple of items I used from the minibar to my debit card and when the time came and had to pay, the said the amount was too low for them to run the card. It was my last day and I didn't have any cash on me. It was ridiculous.

Dirty pool, misrepresented room, little service.

When we arrived the receptionist was friendly and quick. The room we were given looked nothing like the ones in the photos and had a tiny window near the ceiling.
The coffee was bland, and the pool looked dirty (things were floating in it).
As we were about to go to bed, my girlfriend saw a cockroach in our room. There were no other rooms available , and the night receptionist made very little effort to contact any hotels to find us different accommodations.
I had to walk the streets to find another hotel room.
Very disappointing experience.

On a good note , the hotel is 2 blocks from the popular beach.

I feel the pictures featured while I booked online were very misleading. The rooms looked updated, spacious, and the pool looked refreshing. Unfortunately, upon my arrival the rooms were very small, the pool chairs were outrageously dirty, the pool had no sun, and there were stains on my pillow and bedsheets.

I really liked the location. There’s lots of little spots and cool restaurants. Close to carbón de palo. Great steaks. What I didn’t like was that it was really loud in the am. My room was facing the street and the car horns and noises woke me up really early but you don’t go to Cartagena to sleep in so I didn’t mind.

Good option in Bocagrande

To have a change from staying in the historic center of Cartagena, I decided to pick a hotel in Bocagrande that was close to Playa Hollywood. This small hotel is well run. The staff are friendly. Breakfast is adequate and filling (I enjoyed good coffee and fresh fruit). The room size was large. Small pool was bonus. There are many restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. I experienced no issues with noise. It is a short taxi ride away from the walled city and the boats to the islands.

GREAT VALUE with a POOL in Bocagrande

This small hotel in Bocagrande suited our purposes just fine! We stayed here for two nights. We love walking and had no trouble walking to the main historical sites of Cartagena from here.
There is a huge selections of food for the included breakfast. Also there is a small swimming pool – so welcome after a hot day touring Cartagena. Furthermore, there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and one young lady in particular, who was extremely kind and patient with us, was getting quite fluent in English!
The rooms are clean, quite small, and the shower water was rather luke warm for us.
The beach is a only a 5 minute walk away, and we enjoyed it briefly one evening but found out it strictly closes at 6 pm!
I would highly recommend this for a safe, budget stay in the Cartagena area. Probably the best value with a pool!

Great location in Bocagrande with lots of local, inexpensive food, three short blocks to very good, clean beach. Simon and and Nelson spoke good enough English and were super friendly.

Nice little pool, refreshing temperature after hot humid day. AC in room was perfect. Room was always cleaned spotless. Shower head needs to be replaced. WiFi secure and fast. Breakfast ok. Lots of taxis around. Range of cheap, local shopping and expensive fine shopping.

The only reason they didn’t get 5 dots was the worn out sheets and towels. Incredible they can’t manage such a routine hotel function as maintaining the linen!

Location was ok for us, there use strong cleaning solution of a sort as there is smell in the rooms. Staff working there are super nice and helpful, there are good food options within walking distance. Overall breakfast is just ok, and the biggest issue for me was the lack of sufficient natural lighting in the room.

Overall not a bad place, however I asked for a double bed and instead got two twins. The A/C was great but the blankets were simply a super thin bed sheet. Biggest complaint is the shower pressure. The pressure is very weak.

Just a Gem!

Just a 1 night stay, however very impressed. A nice and quite hotel with very modern rooms. Big and comfortable bed, strong WiFi, clean and modern shower, comfortable A/C, free Breakfast. 2.5 blocks from the beach and I was given a courtesy towel to use their. I requested a room on a higher floor and after a short wait it was granted. Their checked out is 13:00, however I checked out 45min after, although I told them about it, there was no issues and no extra charges. Very kind front desk. I would stay there again

Close to everything, 2 blocks to beach and dining.

Staff was the best, very helpful at tending every need with a big smile. Location is very nice, just one block off the busy street away from all the traffic and noise yet so close to al the action, good shopping, and dining and very closed to old-town (AKA Walled City or Centro Historico). Room was very clean every morning by the time I came back from the breakfast, advantage of a small hotel. Bed was very comfortable as most hotel beds even all the 5-Star ones hurt my back so I carry pain killers with me when I travel but this bed was great and very comfortable. Breakfast could be improved a little as it was exactly same thing for a straight week and the pool is small but who wants to use a pool when you have the Caribbean Sea in 2 blocks anyway, right :) Don't expect a 5-Star hotel amenities but everything was great for the price because you are not paying 5-Star prices either and, one thing for sure, there is no way to get the service and personal attention of the nice staff this hotel has in any other large 5-Star hotel. I am definitely going back to the same hotel when I go back and hope to find the same staff working because they all were top-notch.

These people made my stay!

I don't speak Spanish and the entire staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable.
This hotel is clean. The staff are always cleaning. The breakfast was included and made an easy start to the day. Coffee, orange drink, milk, granola, yogurt, eggs, ham, and pastries.
Room air conditioning is was COLD. Careful, electricity is expensive. Nice TV. Little fridge. Clean pool and hot tub. This place was very nice when it was new and does show some wear and tear, but at the price and people, I could have cared less about that. I'll be back.

After searching for a comfortable and within budget hotel. I bump in with Hotel OR, seemed ok according to the pictures. So I decided to book a doable for me and my wife.
however first issue was the bed, for one...it was two single beds slide together, and the hotel didn't even put a blanket on top to hide the fact that it wasn't a king size bed, but two singles.
Second issue, after 9 hours flying first thing you want to do after taking a shower is a nice soft bed. As i pointed out the bed wasn't what i was expecting. (Im 6´1´´so i need a big bed.). So anyhow, i went to bed just to discover, it was the hardest ¨Bed¨ i have the unpleasant pleasure to sleep in. I mean ROCK hard!!! For some reason there was an extra bed (kid size) in my room. So at the end I decided to curl in since this one was a bit softer than the other two rocks.
I was so mad, tired and disappointed that i started looking for another hotel to move to the very next day. Since on my confirmation sheet it said, that i could cancel or change my stay but would be charge for the night.
However to my surprise hotel management wasn't going to honor that!!! And offer only to change room, other than that i was not getting any refund.
So i was move to another room, this time bed was in fact kingsize, whoever just about the same, hard!!!
Not only that but after arguing (in a POLITE manner) with the receptionist about the bed, from then on she was the most rude and unpleasant concierge I have ever deal with!

We stayed there 5 nights. The staff are very friendly. The place is organized and clean. Rooms have high sealing and the bathroom/shower looks awesome. I am a tea lover and anywhere else I have stayed I had to ask for hot water to make tea. There is hot water/coffee pot in the lobby so anytime I could make my tea.
We had to check out at 1pm and our flight wasn't till after 9pm. The hotel let us stayed in the patio and even left the A/C and the TV on in the kitchen sitting area though the kitchen was closed so we could sit down and do out things. They even offered us to use the swimming pool.
I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Colombia and I would say I would go back to this place again. Close to the beach and the corner store. Simple but modern design. The price via expedia was fair. WiFi speed was decent and the internet did't cut out like all the other places I have stayed before. Breakfast was till 10am which was great.

Nice place in the heart of Boca Grande

The staff was very helpful and cordial and the room was very clean and nicely designed. Not to be confused with a luxury lodging Hotel Or does have a small breakfast dining area and soaking pool in the back on the first floor. They should really allow for pre-payment through Expedia, as the payment at the reception at check-out is not very convenient. A nice stay!

The hotel was very clean and nice. Nice little pool with a few lounge chairs to relax on. Only two blocks from the beach. Staff was very helpful, was able to tell us how to get the the walled city and even went out and got the taxi and negotiated the price for us so we didn't have to worry about any taxi scams. There are plenty of restaurants and even a full supermarket within walking distance.

La habitacion tenia machas y por lo tanto olor a humedo, la limpieza estaba ok, el agua de la piscina estaba turbia depronto le falta algo de mantenimiento, el asensor no estaba funcionando y aunque nos toco una habitacion en el tercer piso y tengo una incapacidad de un brazo no nos ayudaron con las maletas.
