Everything was great except the bed. The bed was hard and squeaky. It felt like sleeping directly on a box spring mattress. Otherwise, the room was large and clean, staff were friendly, the shower wasn't ice cold like most homes in Colombia. 2 bottles of water were provided and there was a minifridge. The balcony was nice with a peakaboo view of the ocean. Breakfast was good. If it weren't for the bed, I would give it 5 stars.

Hotel service was good. The bed was really bad. It was so hard that I had to ask for another room. They said all the beds we’re like that, that the only thing they could do was to put a bed cushion. That help a little. The first three days I couldn’t sleep.

There was someone or something in the room above us, noise kept us up. Was noisy sometimes during the day. Reported it to the front desk twice. We again reported it when checking out, young lady at desk said she reported it and management stated there was no one in that room. The noise was very loud.

Showers dont really get hot in columbia. Bed was stiff. There was no sauna as listed on expedia. That was the only reason I chose the hotel. Not the greatest condition compared to American hotels. This is my honest review.

Our stay with Atlantic Lux was a great disappointment. We would not recommend this hotel given the much better comparable hotels in Cartagena we subsequently stayed in.

The rooms are old and bathrooms aren't clean. The 1 working elevator is extremely slow, so be prepared to wait a good 15 minutes every time you want to go up or down with suitcases.

The staff takes several days to respond to any communication over Expedia. They responded to our request for a crib 3 days after we had checked-out (request sent weeks in advance). We had to laugh.

Lastly, we paid for a suite with a closed bedroom as we were traveling with a baby. The hotel made a mistake with the reservation and put us in a standard room. As opposed to simply crediting the difference in price, it took us contesting the charge on our credit card. After several weeks of dealing with them, our credit card immediately agreed with the dispute and forced them to reimburse us the difference.

Overall, we recommend avoiding this hotel. We stayed in 2 other hotels in this area and each was a vast improvement over Atlantic Lux.

Terrible check in. Was given a standard room where u could hear animals going crazy. I had to convince them i paid for a premium room. I finally got it but It still didnt match the description. Fine. Then another couple was given a key to our room and walked in on us getting ready to shower. I had to get my key re made every single day, their payment system malfunctioned and it wasnt made clear to me what happened w my billing. Staff never apologized for anything. But the couple that walked in on us did.

Needs a lots improvements and maintenance, the AC it was dripping water went you put the settings in cool so you have to use only fan option, (somebody move the bed directly in front of the AC, Lol) the safe not working, after you come from outside you want to hanging your stuff not to put it in the floor or bed and another little things

This hotel was horrible, not only did the elevator stop working at some point and that we had a walk up 13 floors but the service is horrible and the rooms are old and outdated and the wall are cracked. The drawers are broken on the dresser and on the desk there is mildew in the hallway of where the rooms are and the staff is nasty and rude and they don’t give you a refund

Booked Junior Suite with 2 beds and were given a regular room with 1 bed, was able to eventually get a room with 2 beds but just a very basic room, not a suite. Very weak Wi-Fi that keeps disconnecting and they did not fix it! Overall a poor experience.

Good Hotel For The Money

The Atlantic Lux is a great hotel for the money. A few things that I think need to change is the beds are so hard they are uncomfortable; when the rooms were cleaned they just swept and made the beds. This is okay if I were told upfront. And the most annoying thing is the elevator service at the hotel is terrible. There were times it would take up to ten minutes to travel from the 12th floor to the lobby due to waiting for one of two elevators; one being a service elevator that may stop on every floor. However, there is a notice in the service elevator advising of this possibility.

On a positive note, the staff was very accomodating, especially Oscar at the front desk.

I will stay here again on a return trip to Cartagena.

I love the hotel Lux it’s a amazing hotel especially at the price . It’s honestly just as nice as the big corporate hotels at half the price . My only complaint is I was traveling with a friend and they had to leave after me . I asked the hotel before I left if there was any charges and they said no but when she left they made her pay for something,, I even asked before I left because I did not want her to have to pay anything . But over all it’s a really great hotel ,, good hot water and great AC and very clean and well kept

VERY Disappointing, Noisy and Uncomfortable!

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and stayed for 7 nights in a room for 3 people (queen bed and a single) and so my children who are both 7 had to share a single bed. We booked the room for four people (2 adults and 2 children), the photos of the room appeared to have a queen bed, single bed and sofa bed and so we were sure we would all fit. When we arrived at the hotel they gave us a room with 1 queen and and 1 single, when we asked for a sofa bed, an extra bed, or a different room we were told \"the sofa bed or extra bed wouldn't fit in the room we had and even though we had booked for 4 people we had only paid for one child as the other stays free and it was at the discretion of the hotel whether to give us that room or an extra bed and there was nothing they could do to help.\"

BE CAREFUL when booking this hotel, the staff speak patchy English and even if you speak Spanish, they still won't be very helpful.

Room was over an extractor fan and so it sounded like a plane taking off constantly and if you can get passed that then there is the street noise.

The hotel is close to the beach (not on it) and well priced, but I guess the old saying \"you get what you pay for\" has never been more relevant than it is for this hotel.

No water in the room when it did come out it was brown, the staff could care less. The free breakfast was very unappealing, the pool is slightly bigger then a bathtub. There is nothing \" Lux\" about this property holes in the towels and rock hard bedding, this place needs a total makeover.

Not a pleasant hotel stay experience

The room was clean but quite small. The reception staff struggled to provide any useful advice on area and restaurants as they didn’t speak English. Room service was very slow, had to call a few times. Another particularly annoying thing was we were asked to pay extra for each room service visit on top of the menu prices for room services. The hot water was unavailable for entire day of our last night at the hotel. We did not have a comfortable experience, there are better hotels in the area.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The first room they gave me the bed was dirty. The rooms were tiny like a dorm room. The beds were hard, not firm, but completely hard. The gym was dirty, small and the very few equipment they had was subpar. The walls were very thin, you could hear every conversation people were having in the hallway and in their rooms. No hot water. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel, not even close. The only thing worth eating in the restaurant was the fruit.

Not only this hotel, but...... we spent a month in Colombia at 7-8 hotels and the web site on all of the hotels was always misleading. Some much more than others, of course. You either have to accept this is fact, and try to minimize it, or deal with it! We got to the point of only reserving one night at a time to check out the REAL facts, then book more if we wanted to. If you book three days, one or two days prior to your arrival day, frequently you're inside their cancellation time period and have to pay anyway or fight with them. It just gets to ya after a month of deception with very little recourse. As always, buyer beware.

3.5 stars hotel in my opinion

It's good hotel but nothing special, service was very friendly but slow to bring the iron they never brought, the safe got locked at night had to wait until morning to open it and i order coffee from room service but they didn't bring it maybe got lost in translation. Pool is cold, steam bath has extra charge and breakfast finish early at 10:00 you can't get in already they close. P.s they miss cleaning my room 1 night of my 3 nights stay. Generally what i like is the location, they dont have front line to the sea however you can still parts of the ocean from all sides and it has a casino just beside it which was very accommodating and the room has very simple cold design and rather small for its price.

This hotels needs a lot. There were two outlets so if you wanted to plug in the lamp you needed to unplug the phone. No power outlet on wall near desk. Two hangers. Tepid shower water. No supplies in mini bar. No iron. No shower cap but rainshower head. Pool had 4 lounge chairs. In very noisy and dangerous with few traffic lights so difficult
to cross especially at night

i arrived to the hotel at 11pm and when checked in i specificly asked the reception guy for quite room as i was exhausted. he gave me a room on the 5th floor. The noise was unbearable i couldn't sleep until i stuffed my ears with tissues. I wanted to check out next day but staff offered me a higher floor. it was differently less noise but still very noisy. the street noise is not the property fault but at the same time i am looking for a conferrable sleep. the swimming pool was not clean and breakfast was OK!!. I paid for double occupancy and my partner didn't make it to the hotel got stuck in other city. so when a friend came to visit during the day. the reception gave my a call on the spot asking for more money!! I was furious I went down to reception and used google translate as she speak no English said he is visiting me and even if she want to consider him occupant i paid for 2 people.
if you need good sleep don't stay here. otherwise the hotel is close to everything but without nice actual view unless you consider the sea view between the building as a ocean view.

First thing is first. The staff at this hotel was first class all the way! Never had a single problem at all and everyone was extremely helpful including organizing a safe driver that brought us everywhere and made sure we were always safe even in the not so safe areas that we had to go thru. The room was very small and the a/c was not working properly. The safe was locked on arrival and after asking for it to be unlocked no one ever came to unlocked it... Breakfast was the worst I have seen served at any of the hotels that I have stayed. The bathroom was the only good thing about the hotel. I could hear the people next door clearly as if they were in the room with me. Traffic noise could clearly be heared even from the 13 floor....

Nice Hotel to stay and very nice people

It is located in the best place in town. Close to the ocen about three minutes walk.The fast food chains and other eating places within two blocks or 4 minutes.
The hotel has very godd full breakfast.People are nice and even they printed my boarding pass for the next flight.
I give them 4.8 out of 5.
I will surely come and stay with my family if I visit this city back.
