I’ve stayed there before and thought that things changed but they haven’t I would leave with my girlfriend and several days they wouldn’t come and clean the room they have a bunch of lazy people that work there so when I would arrive from sight seeing or hanging out my room was never cleaned so I decided to leave before the 6th of January and payed for a new hotel I wouldn’t refer this hotel to my worst enemy.

Food selecton for breakfast was good, scrambled eegs, breads, fruits etc.For me it was location near fastfoods, ( across street and on right side of Mc Don, Chicken, and Coral, simikar to Burgerking. And of course Buffalo grill 5 blocks away for steak and cocktails for 6.00.

Terrible check In at Holliday Inn

Terrible check-in experience.
Supervisor Alex Gómez was unaware that Colombia’s biometric system replaces passport stamps and insisted on seeing a stamp or even a U.S. tax return to exempt us from the 19% VAT, despite showing a U.S. passport and airline tickets. He only agreed after we presented our tax return.
The first room was in terrible condition (broken shower, door removed, clogged sink, poor cleanliness). At first they refused to change our room, claiming the hotel was full, but eventually agreed.
I’m sharing this so others know you don’t need to show a tax return; the biometric system is sufficient according to Colombian immigration authorities.

Very poor wifi connection, and was having difficulty sleeping because of the loud noise at the aisle caused by the guests and workers. Additionally, the hotel allow pets there and you can hear the dogs barking every day. The worst part is the hotel have low quality mattress which caused back pain and had difficulties walking outside without taking pain killers. This hotel ruined my vacation. Too expensive and I am really disappointed with Expedia. I trusted your reviews, but you failed. For proof, ask the receptionist how many times I have complained.

Room was ok, definitely a little tired round the edges- could do with a refurb and a deep clean of the communal carpeted areas.
Breakfast was ok, they could spend more time on attention to detail with labelling foods. It would seem that in South America, a vegetarian label does not mean it will come without some kind of meat/sausage mixed in or sprinkled on top.
The people who served us at breakfast and checked us in (Alex) /out were very nice and helpful.

Reneged on commitment

When I booked, the website said complimentary air transport (search criteria), but the hotel said we had to pay. When I pointed out the inconsistency, they changed their website information but would not honour their commitment. Really disappointing service

I forgot to close the safe with 800 usd, laptop and table in it. After 3 hrs de I came back, my room was cleaned and all my things were there.

Holiday express is a great brand. Everything you need was close at hand. Staff was very polite and helpful. I hit the restaurant downstairs and upstairs same menu everywhere even for room service. The food was not that great though.

Viajamos mucho a Cartagena, ya sea por trabajo o vacaciones, es nuestra primera vez en el hotel y ahora será nuestro hotel de preferencia, muy bien ubicado, tienes todo a unos pasos, restaurantes, farmacias, la playa, etc. Las habitaciones muy amplias, cómodas y limpias, el hotel con decoración muy moderna, y muy bien mantenido. El servicio de las personas que te atienden es TOP, siempre con la mejor disposición y amabilidad, conocimos al Gerente del Hotel al momento del check in, fue tan amable que nos hizo sentir como en casa, y es ahí dónde entiendes todo!!Servicio, servicio, servicio!!!

I really enjoyed my stay here at Holiday Inn Express. Can't find any negatives about my experience here. Staff were friendly and accomidating. The facility was clean. Breakfast was great with lots of variety to choose from. I guess the only 1 little thing the hotel should consider is possibly expanding the gym size and add more equipment. Chairs would be nice to have in the gym when using the free weights. Overall, fantastic experience. Looking forward to possibly staying here again in the future.

Felt Judged and Unwelcome at This Hotel

I had a disappointing experience with a particular hotel employee. I suffer from back issues, and after a long day of swimming or walking around the city, I needed a therapeutic massage. I arranged for a professional therapist to come to my room—she arrived in her uniform with all her equipment. However, the receptionist called me down to the front desk and began asking uncomfortable and inappropriate questions, such as, \"Are you sure she is here only as a therapist?\"

To avoid any misunderstanding, I booked a male therapist the next day, also dressed professionally in his clinic uniform. Yet, the same receptionist questioned me again in the same manner. By the third day, I realized she was still on duty, and I chose not to book a therapist at all, meaning I had to endure unnecessary pain.

I was tempted to confront her about this repeated behavior, but I didn’t want to ruin my vacation. However, I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome. A hotel should respect the well-being and privacy of its guests rather than making them feel uncomfortable for seeking legitimate services.

I like that the hotel staff were kind, polite and very helpful in any request specially the girl who help us to check in and out (do not have her name) also I love the Breakfast Buffet.
The only thing is that they need to update
the coffee machine, hair blow dryer and bath soap containers.

I had 1 problem that was so unprofessional they do work in rooms and don’t notify the customers and early in the morning which was around 8:15am so I had to complain and since they didn’t get back to me I had to get dressed and go downstairs to talk to the receptionist and ask to speak to a supervisor which I did and she took care of the problem.

View was nice , staff is great, location is good. Not worth the price when you arrive hot , sweaty and the fridge is busted. We had to wait until maintenance arrived to change it out. Which took time out if our day for sight seeing. Once maintenance left we were ready to walk around town. We put our passports , cash, chargers in safe box but it did not work. Had to call and wait for maintenance again. Plus safe box size does not fit an average size Mac computer. Finally we just walked out and got a refund. Would not recommend this place. To many items broken for the price. Staff was always very helpful

Great staff always available for you, the pool is amazing my daughter love it. My only problem was the air conditioner, you need to call the reception to set the temperature of the room, you don't have the control and during my stay the air conditioner turned off at night.
