My stay here was terrible. Let’s start with checking in. Checking in was so slow I received a blank white card with no numbers on it. Had to ask over & over what room am I in but she didn’t understand. Staff were VERY RUDE , asked for a cup of ice and was told NO ! No procure or any type of information was given upon arrival. The room was big but the bathroom was tiny. The pool is a small dirty tub in the back of the lobby. It’s dirty , overgrown plants in it & NO SUN! Beach chairs around the pool are dirty. Front gates are locked at night with a chain and pad lock at night which is crazy to me ! Finally checking out was a mess I was told I couldn’t leave until they check the room … my luggage was grabbed and all. If check out is at 12pm and you still have to check the room which should be informed in the beginning! Almost missed my flight for nothing because the room was fine ! Stay at Estelar it’s 100% better than this place !

Room was pretty big, clean and breakfast was delicious with lots of variety to choose from. Couple issues we encountered was our room phone wasn’t working and we asked to get it fixed multiple times and it never worked. We had to keep going downstairs to request taxis and towels. Another issue was not having enough towels. It would have been nice to have at least 4 bath towels and couple extra of the smaller ones. We had to keep asking for more towels. The lighting in the room wasn’t very good either. There’s not enough room in the restroom to put your toiletries and room to get ready.

Please, please!! Stay away from this hotel! The name “boutique” hotel is an eye catching name inspiring uniqueness, top of the line, attention to details, and overall a guaranteed formidable place!! NON OF THAT!!
They promised me a shuttle to pick me up at the airport for 2.5 times the cost of a taxi. They sent me an unmarked taxi that they called for me!! They called it the “service provided”.
Lunch with my friend, we ordered 2 salmon plates. Unbeatable! The salmon was clearly old! They didn’t charge me though! I had a reservation for 9 days, one! 1 coat hanger!!
No dresser, no drawers or anything else available. All my clothes were on the extra sofa bed in the room. After requesting more hangers, they brought 6 or 7 more.
Obviously someone had not done their homework. When I received the reservation confirmation, I called and asked if I could bring my Colombian girlfriend and Spanish teacher over, and they said yes, no problem. When she arrived, they asked me an additional 2/3 of the cost of the room to allow her to come to my room. When I disputed that charge, this desk girl would not let me put in a word until I got so frustrated that I unfortunately raised my voice. She took it as me disrespecting her even though I told her multiple times that I had nothing against her personally! SHE THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE ON ME!!! Hotel lobby is in the open air so in Cartagena it is hot &;humid. No roof in part of the lobby, so thunderstorms were interesting.

Hotel was well maintained, clean and tidy. Except for hot water everything was in good working order. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK - eggs cooked to order

My low rating is because of lack of hot water and open air lobby! Foolish in the tropics!

I had a wonderful stay at Madison Boutique Hotel in Cartagena! The service was truly excellent — everyone went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. A special thank you to Maria, the amazing concierge, and the front desk team Milly, Miguel, Raimary, and Juan for always greeting me with a smile and helping with anything I needed. The bellmen Mr. Carlos, Frank, Mr. Damar, and a few others whose names escaped me were also so kind and attentive. The hotel was clean, cozy, and in a great location. The only thing missing was a washrag and an iron, but everything else was perfect. I would happily return on my next visit to Cartagena.

This place is nice however, so many issues with the key card. Such a large portion of our trip was spent at the front desk having to get back access to our rooms because the key cards would stop working. It was such an inconvenience, and no one ever apologized or gave a reason why this issue kept recurring. Additionally, the TV in our room didn't work. We had someone come try to fix it but gave up and there was no follow up or credit provided for the issue with the room. Overall, the place is nice and the breakfast is good but the customer service is not the best and any issues that arise during your stay will likely not be fixed or any accommodation offered. Very disappointed

Everything is went well. The property is in a good location 3-5 from the clock tower (wall city)
Breakfast was on point especially the omelette station.
Very friendly staff.

One of my biggest issue was the internet connection it wasn’t consistent and my smart tv wasn’t connecting to the internet so no TV.

The pool well situated but need some love and care, missing tiles could be spotted and water needs a little treatment.

Overall I was very pleased to stay there will definitely rebook there again in the future.

This property was nice for my visit. Juan was very helpful throughout our stay being that we spoke very little Spanish. There is a lot of food options around the area, the hotel does offer breakfast but it is very light so we did eat off property most days. The pool was amazing and we used it multiple times during out stay. The staff was very accommodating and we had no issues with scheduling airport transfer through them to and from. Uber was very easy to get and affordable from this location as well, we did use them almost daily as we traveled to the walled city a lot.

The staff were very friendly & tried to assist with whatever concerns I had. The staff facilitated a room change so that I could be closer to my friends room. There was no wash cloth provided in the room when I checked in & this had to be requested. I had to also request tissue as only half a roll was provided when I checked-in. I also had to request an iron as these items are apparently not automatically provided in the room. The hotel WiFi only worked in the lobby & once you went to your room, the WiFi didn't connect & this was a major inconvenience for me when trying to request transport & keeping in touch with family in a foreign country. The hotel can also improve on their breakfast menu for international travellers. The elevator was out of service for 2 days. There are areas on the property where mosquitoes are highly concentrated & should be fogged. The hotel should also consider adding a few movie channels for entertainment purposes instead of just having only the Claro advertisement channel & also adding a few English channels for travelers whose only language is English.

Complete LIES! The pictures are not remotely close to actual representation. It is all filters, its like we got catfished. The lobby looks nice but the rooms are completely outdated. The towels look like there years old, threads coming off and very thin. The shower smells & feels like the cleaning products were not cleaned off properly. The AC only works when the keycard is plugged in. The AC is a split unit so it took a long time to cool the room. The “view” is of the street with a big tree in the way or of the main lobby. The hotel is open to the outside so there is a bunch of humidity throughout the hallways. The gym is a square box with a treadmill, a bicycle and a couple weights. Not a lot of space at all. We tried to get a refund as we did not wish to stay there and they told us to speak to expedia for Expedia to tell us the hotel was denying our refund. The staff did not care to accommodate, they stated it was non refundable. they see everything as a $ opportunity, as they stated they could upgrade us for a fee! This hotel gave hotel 8 vibes but priced higher. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!

My fiancé and I were a little skeptical about this place only because we had heard mix reviews on multiple sites. However I’m so glad we decided to stay here. We decided to get the grand suite since we were celebrating our engagement. The room was absolutely perfect. It was clean daily, and huge! The staff was all very nice. The hotel itself was nice and clean. Aesthetically very pretty. We had breakfast in the restaurant every morning. Food was good and the restaurant is super cute. I’m not sure what the negative reviews on the other sites were about because I would stay here again! The location was perfect, super close to the beach, tons of restaurants walking distance. Overall, the hotel is beautiful, but I feel like there is so much missing. There were no washcloths in the bathroom. There was no real window to my room. The room next to me had a balcony, but it opened up right in front of my room and I could hear the conversations as if they were in front of my face. The hallway lights are motion censored, but it is extremely dark until it is activated. There is no iron in the room and no dresser space. The room is very dark overall with only two lamps hanging from the ceiling on either side of the bed. There is no mirror For you to see yourself full length. It seems like this hotel is still under construction and needs a lot of improvement

You get what you pay for. Great location if you like to be where the action is. Bed was very hard, you can hear everything on the 5th floor, from the heavy bass music, doors slamming, people were knocking on a door to the suite beside me at 4am. people talking, hallway smoke detector beeping every 15 seconds. Room had an odour probably because there’s no ventilation. If you need an affordable stay close to all the action and don’t mind noise at all hours this place will do. Staff was very friendly, told them I needed a taxi to airport at 3am and the driver was there waiting. Good value for money but I wouldn’t stay here again . I left sleep deprived

The hotel is not in a bad location, what is bad is the staff that works. At reception the day I arrived they wanted to give me a lower room than the one I paid for. I had to claim. especially the restaurant employees. The breakfast was terrible and the employees don't want you to serve yourself the coffee or the eggs, but they aren't interested in giving good service either. they are among themselves chatting and do not attend to the guests. I had a bad time

Nice little boutique Hotel in Bocagrande. Problems started when the reception staff gave my gf several beers after seeing that she was already obviously inebriated somewhat. Then the next morning a VERY expensive Pilots chronograph watch was stolen. All in all a very frustrating stay.

I had stayed at this hotel about five years ago and it was called something else. I forget what the name was and I was not very impressed with it at that time. I decided to give it another try because it was one of the only hotels available as it was a very busy weekend in Cartagena. To my surprise not only the name had changed but the hotel itself had changed. The place was outstanding. From the moment I walked into the reception the girl behind the desk Geraldine was like she was excited to see me. Like I had known her as she came across so friendly and spoke good English as well. During check-in she told me everything I could possibly want to know about the hotel, the service, and surrounding things in the city. I was amazed at the quality of her professionalism. In all my travels and I have been traveling for 26 years this is the best welcome I’ve ever had at a hotel. And I definitely will return. The room I had was wonderful, very clean, everything worked perfectly and it even had some English channels. Upon check out it was just as good, fast and efficient, and they made sure that I got in the taxi outside the front door. I don’t recall the girls name in the morning when I checked out or the guys name when I checked in and checked out it was the same person but he was also very good. Very polite and they really really made you feel welcome. Also the breakfast was very good for a hotel this size. The pool is small but sufficient for the size of the hotel.

Unable to check in early . Hotel attempted to have me pay again for my room when room had already been purchased online . No hot water . The sliding glass door to my rooms lock was broken off of it. No way to lock it. Was not a very comfortable stay for me . Will not return to this hotel .

DISAPPOINTED of the booking policy of the hotel

My booking was cancelled by the hotel in the very last moment sending me the explanation \"that they could not withdraw money from my credit card\". ???!!!
If this is the true reason, they should at least contact me and ask for another way of payment.

Comfort and simplicity 4 stars

Great little Hotel on the main boulevard near all the action of Bocagrande and close to centro. overall clean and comfortable this was my second stay at this hotel and i chose to go back for these reasons.

Had issues with hot water, worked inconsistently, had to leave water running for 10 mins and sometimes it would get hot. No hair dryer provided as listed in amenities. Hotel is run down - should be rated as 2 star not 3 or 4.
