Very underwhelming stay at Hampton by Hilton Cartagena. Small rooms, no views, and limited breakfast options. For the cost, I believe there are much better hotel options in Cartagena. I would not recommend this property.

Clean room - professional staff - breakfast lacks variety. After 2 days, you get tired of the same food. In addition, they are renovating the hotel and the lobby is located on the 16th floor which was odd. Overall, the stay was agreeable.

Los muchachos de la recepción fueron muy positivos y amigables también.
Me dieron toda la información detallada para mi estadía allí de 4 noches, el edificio muy limpio y organizado.
Los empleados todos sonrientes, los de la limpieza, la cocina, los de la piscina, manteniento y bar fueron muy amables, atentos, energía positiva y feliz creando una atmósfera acogedora y única haciéndome sentir que estoy en casa.
Aquí logré anotar algunos nombres que memoricé ….Francis, Fernando, Jesús, Arnold, otros más, pero me faltó el equipo de la cocina FABULOSO EQUIPO !!
Son atentos, proactivos, excelente servicio al cliente, el área de comida o restaurante muy organizado, limpio, y lleno de alegria y calor humano.
Me sentí como en casa y llena de mucha atención.
Sus sonrisas lo demuestran todo.
La chica que organiza los cuartos también muy amable y sonriente, excelente servicio en mi cuarto.
Están Féliices de su trabajo y se les ve el orgullo en ser parte de Hampton Hotel.
Lo recomiendo a todos para que tengan una experiencia maravillosa en el sector de Bocagrande.
Hubo un accidente en la entrada de la cocina y admiré como todos colaboraban para recoger los platos rotos y en equipo con sonrisas y amabilidad todo quedó limpio y piso brillante.

Breakfast was not fresh, eggs smelled like fish, serving pasta, chicken wings and lunch meat for breakfast. AC in the room was not working properly, very hot and could not rest/sleep well. AC left moisture in the room and the floors were always wet from the moisture. Limited toilet paper.

When I arrived on October 29th there was a receptionist by the name of Arnold that was disrespectful and rude just because he couldn’t find the stamp on my pass port and if it weren’t for another coworker of his that knows me because I’ve stayed there several times he would have continued to give me a hard time. And also if you don’t get up early they won’t come and clean your room at all it seems like they don’t like to work after a certain time.

Great hotel and awesome staff

Great Hotel in down town Cartagena. Less than 20 minutes from the airport. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Most speak enough English to help you get settled in. I have to say the service here in Colombia is way better than in the USA, that’s not a knock on staff in the USA but it seems like the Colombians went way above board to make your stay pleasant. The breakfast was Colombian and delicious!! Highly recommend this hotel.

The service was amazing.. Jennifer who worked in the food area was great.. The reason for giving it low stars, is because they offer dinner price to include in your stay, but the food is not dinner food, just snack food and it was the same everyday.. not ideal for a 5 night stay.. plus they would run out of some items making it hard to choose. Very disappointed because I paid for something my kids did not like to eat as I did not get to pick from a menu. Also, this Hotel is maintenance very low, not to the standards of a Hilton, I booked thinking it was like the Hamptons by Hilton I had stayed in other places but not this was more like a Days Inn not a Hamptons. Very upset for the price I paid with low quality of comfort.

Este hotel está muy centrico, a menos de 100 metros está la playa de Bocagrande en Cartagena, todo se mantiene muy limpio y agradable, tiene habitaciones recien remodeladas que están como nuevas, en una de esas me hospede yo, tiene una piscina preciosa en el último piso desde donde puedes apreciar bellas vistas de la ciudad Antigua, la bahia, la playa y toda el area moderna de hoteles y residencies que llegan hasta El Laguito de Bocagrande, tiene un lobby discreto pero acogedor, la carpeta está en el piso 16 con un salon de reception amplio y claro que también ofrece bonitas vistas de la zona, el personal es rápido y eficiente para ofrecerte alojamiento cuanto antes.Tiene desayuno incluido muy bueno muy fresco y variado, ahí conoceras a Jennifer que atiende exepcionalmente a los huéspedes, entre otros también muy competitivos en el trato y los servicios, frente al hotel hay una piquera de taxis que me fue de gran utilidad para mis salidas, también hay una agencia de turismo o de viajes donde resolví con seriedad y agrado mis paseos en Cartagena, el area está llena de restaurantes, bares, tiendas de todo tipo, mercados, oficinas de cambio de monedas y más.
Hay seguridad en la entrada del Hotel, todos muy serios y prestos a servirte con gran entrega y respeto.
Yo agradezco muy especialmente a Francy por sus orientaciones y ayudas en mis inquietudes y dudas. El hotel es muy seguro.

Está muy céntrico y acogedor, la mitad de las habitaciones están recién remodeladas y como nuevas, en una de esas estuve yo, tiene una bonita piscina en el techo con fantásticas vistas de una gran parte de la ciudad, la bahía, la playa y toda la zona turística de Bocagrande y El Laguito, el lobby es un espectáculo por su amplitud, su claridad y las comodidades que ofrece, está en el piso 16 del hotel, justo frente a la entrada hay una piquera de taxis muy conveniente para resolver inmediatamente el transporte para trasladarte a cualquier parte, hay una agencia de viajes turísticos local frente al hotel, con serias y buenas ofertas, resolví algunos de mis tour con ellos, el área en los alrededores es muy movida, hay tiendas, mercados, restaurantes, casas de cambio de moneda y otros hoteles, todo el personal en el hotel es encantador, Franci en la seguridad de la entrada te puede orientar excelentemente con cualquier duda en tus salidas, muy serio y responsable, agradezco su especial ayuda, Jennifer que me asistió en los desayunos con alta profesionalidad y entrega, las chicas de la carpeta, tan eficientes y rápidas, a todos gracias por hacer más cómoda y agradable mi estancia en Hampton de Cartagena

This hotel is centrally located. The rooms are a bit small, but they are clean and their beds are comfy. Many dining options nearby. Their breakfast is pretty good with many choices available. Good location. Very clean and comfortable room. Pleasant staff.
Aldair gets 5 stars for excellent service. I stayed one night and then decided to stay another 5. He made the transition effortless, moving me into a recently renovated room immediately. I was prepared to have to check out and then wait for check in time but he made sure that didn’t happen.
The only negatives were the air conditioning was out for maintenance 2 of the 6 afternoons during my stay and the pool is very small.

The WiFi is the worse it doesn’t work and the cleaning lady expects people to leave early I guess because if I don’t ask for my room to be cleaned they wouldn’t have done it.and on another occasion they cleaned my room but they didn’t give any towels or toilette paper so I also had to complain about that situation and all the receptionist said was I’m sorry.

Poor room air conditioning. The thermostat says 18 degrees but the room feels hotter. They said it takes a few hours to kick in cooler air. I asked for another room. They put me in another room. Same situation. So I wait for later that evening to see if anything would change. Same situation. A kind lobby attendant with lots of patience offers to walk me through the hotel to check other vacant rooms. The lobby attendant was kind enough to do this but I told her I can't sleep in such a hot room. We checked out approximate 5 other rooms before I found one with cool air that suits me.

Bad air conditioning

The air conditioning in the room they gave me was hot. They sent someone he checked something on the wall, and said in Spanish that I had to wait a few hours for the coolair to kick in. Later that night the room remained hot. A courteous female at the guest lobby took us around the hotel room after room for us to visit rooms to see if we were satisfied with the cool air. After visiting a few,we finally found a room. Also this hotel guest policy sucks. I understand security protocols but why do guests have to literally go down to the lobby to sign papers to let a friend in for a few mins?

Positive: Staff was great and friendly, and hotel location and rooftop terrace was nice. Breakfast was good. They have a Starbucks on the first floor and there’s a convenient little shop across the street to buy snacks and drinks.

Negative: we had 6 rooms reserved for 3 nights and the AC didn’t work at all in one of the rooms, and two other rooms had no AC for 2 nights. Temperature in Cartagena is above 90F so it was very frustrating to wake up sweating in the middle of the night. The manager reached out for details and I’m still waiting for a response. Showers aren’t great but good enough for a quick shower.

Expect a very nice 3 star hotel. Good luck!

The hotel is in a good location as it relates to the town center, and the area surrounding it is pretty walkable. This hotel was recommended by a friend, but did not really live up to my standards—we had all the basic requirements to make a cup of tea or coffee, but no cups (there were two disposable cups which were like bathroom/mouthwash cups); though actual cups were requested, they were never bought to the room, as promised.
