Great property with amazing concierge

Having only stayed here for a brief period, arriving after midnight and departing in the morning, I must say the entire experience was truly delightful. The hotel, though rated as a three-star establishment, boasted a reception staff that provided a five-star level of service. The property itself was well-maintained, and the room was exceptionally spacious with lovely views. Furthermore, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast was quite tasty.

Lovely quiet hotel in Machico, short walking distance to the sea front. I enjoyed the breakfast. Staff were very helpful with an issue I had with my passport and helping with my luggage while I went Scuba diving after check out.

Very good stay at this small hotel. I advised of our very late flight and arrangements were made for our arrival after front desk closed. Excellent communication from hotel staff to set this up and all went very smoothly. Room was clean and quiet although a bit dated. I was told that renovations are being undertaken. Excellent breakfast included. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is very convenient to the airport in a lovely town setting.

Parking was juggled but not an issue . The hotel was a very good budget hotel . The breakfast was more than adequate . Staff were very friendly . It’s a great spot to do walking especially the peninsula walk . Nacho do is much quieter and cheaper than Funchal but we found very friendly

Super convenient for airport, beach, food and bis station for local activities and rest of island.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room was clean and great balcony with sea view. Good buffet breakfast with a few options including cold, cooked, and sweet.
Great location, with free parking a short walk (paid parking closer by, but rarely spaces available).
New bathroom and amazing shower.

We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended.

The room was a little old, stained carpets, no kettle or fridge, but at the price and for one night, it was absolutely fine.

My room had a bath which was very welcome and also a balcony, which was nice and the bed was very comfy.

Great location and the friendly and helpful staff made up for the slightly shabby room.

Within 5 minutes walk are many good restaurants, buses to other towns, a bakery, a fruit-shop and a small supermarket. Excellent hotel breakfast. All rooms have sea-view balconies. Paid parking is very difficult nearby, except overnight and at weekend. Nearest free parking 10 minutes walk away.

Fantastic

I received a warm welcome from a very nice young lady who had a great local knowledge and was able to point me in the direction of a nice place to eat. The hotel is nicely situated, clean, in excellent condition and the room was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed a very peaceful stay with superb views out over the street at the front. Completely impressed with my experience and really look forward to staying there again in the future.

5 fab days in Machico.

We really enjoyed our second stay at white waters hotel. Staff are really upbeat and friendly. Lovely room with comfy bed and great shower. Breakfast was very good, hotel is very close to all facilities in Machico. Not far from bus station, and a great Levada walk at the back of Machico. Not far from a golden sandy beach. Buses go to most places on the east of the island and Funchal via the airport. Would re and would return. Cheers 😁😁

Amazinf stay

I have never had such a personal service at a hotel. The staff are incredibly lovely and accommodating. The location is minutes from the sea, honestly I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Really enjoyed our stay in White Waters hotel. Staff really upbeat and chatty. Breakfast very good, room fab, bed really comfy. Lovely room with a great balcony. Everything was great. Machico is a great place to vase yourself as there is a lot to do and see in the area. It also has many eateries and bars, shops , supermarkets etc. Great bus service to Funchal and other parts of the East part of the island. Would recommend and will return. Cheers 😁😁

The neighborhood was beautiful anf had an easy access to beach. Also the area was very calm and so close to supermarket and pharmacy.
About the negative part I can say that I was very disappointed with the room condition specially bedcovers and bathroom. On my bedsheet there was a spot! Bathroom smelled like waste pipe and the sink had a lot of cracks on it and when I opened the water the bad smell got stronger. The balcony’s door was brocken so we couldn’t close and lock the door but thanks God the neighborhood was safe but still I wasn’t feeling comfortable. To sum up the facility and room quality was the very basic and not in a very good quality.

Excellent hotel and wonderful location

The hosts and all staff were amazing. Very spacious room, amazing views and comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious and well presented. This is a modern building located in the heart of Machico. There's a pebble beach 1 min walk away and a sandy beach 5 minutes walking distance. Thank you very much, hopefully will be back soon.

Excellent Family Run Hotel

We wanted a relaxing seven night break and that was exactly what we got. Machico is quite small and compact and thankfully is largely flat, with easy strolls to most restaurants nearby. This family run hotel is well maintained, within a couple of minutes walk from a wonderful sandy beach and provides excellent value for money. We could not have asked for a better break.

Exceptionally hospitable. Flight from London delayed because of bad weather but owners phoned back twice to reassure us. Perfect service and a fantastic breakfast. Details like the wonderful fresh bread, fruit and perfection in egg and bacon/ham.
Evening meal had the freshest fish, wine was out of this world. Home made pasta was fabulous.
Very good overall and exceptional value!!
Thank you to the entire team at White Waters- by the way the surf outside was also most awesome!

A thumbs up

This hotel really gets a thumbs up. The room was great, large and comfortable, with a sea view. The breakfast was super, lots of choice and plenty of it. The staff were friendly and efficient and the location is great, right in the middle of the town.

Machico is a great spot. It has a beach and lots of restaurants. It is close to the airport and not that far from Funchal. The popular peninsular walk is also only 10 mins away. Overall a great location to stay.

White Waters is a family owned and run hotel, and you can tell.
The owners all cared so mich aboutvtgeir guests. We felt incredibly welcome and looked after from the minute we arrived to the time we left.
We had to stay in our room for the first evening while we waited for our Covid results. The hotel restaurant wasn't open due to the chef breaking their foot, so we wondered how we would get a meal. The owners ordered it from a local resraurant, collected it and delivered it to us! Such fantastic service.

The hotel's location was convenient (located in the town centre and close enough to the beach and airport). However, it was sometimes rather noisy. The room and toilet were clean but quite small. Breakfast was simple but good enough.

This hotel is truly beautiful and in the perfect location. Our hosts went above and beyond our expectations. We had to isolate in our room until our covid test came back they cooked evening meal just for us. The hotel is modern very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was avaliable each day included in the price of the room. lots of choice and a very attentive host. This is a family owned and run Hotel and is a 10/10. Brilliant wifi connection also included in price. The room we were in did not have air con we mentioned this and were immediately given a large oscillating fan. We will be visiting again and would recommend 100%

We loved the experience. The owner was consistently gracious - treating us like friends. The building is lovely, and in a lovely small square just a block from the beach. Full breakfast buffet. Free parking. And a fabulous location for a trip to Madeira, just a few minutes from the airport, and a short drive to both Funchal and Ponta de Lourencio.

This is a small, family owned and run hotel in Machico, close to the seafront and restaurants, cafes and shops. Staff are really friendly and very helpful. Whilst it doesn't have lots of fancy facilities like pools, games rooms etc, there is a restaurant. The simple offering of a clean room and breakfast is reflected in the very competitive cost of a room ( with a sea view). Have stayed twice here and would return again.

Happy New Year stay!

A clean and comfortable hotel which is perfectly situated in the heart of Machico - close to the beach, harbour, town centre and airport. Airport stopover or longer stay

Lovely hotel located a very short walk from the seafront and close to lots of restaurants.

I'd stayed here as an overnight stop for the airport (less than 10 minutes away by taxi), but the hotel would be good for anyone looking to spend time in Machico as well.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was quite busy, but the food was replenished quickly.

Overall a great hotel.

Room 306, good size with balcony.. Did not find receptionist helpful, eg only just found out 2 days later that the hotel has a roof terrace; asked where there was a supermarket- found it eventually the following day. Breakfast basic, no fruit salad or pastries of any sort tho cereal good.

Machico is a not a resort town and was very pleasant to stay in.
We booked te hotel to be near the airport for a next day flight and its was very goos.

I gues the only 2 points to complain about is lack of wifi and no tea/coffee making facility in teh romm,
But it was a very goos and comfortable place to stay

A Little Gem

The hotel is a small modern building on four floors. The whole place is very pleasant and clean. The staff were among the friendliest I have ever come across and were eager to please. It has a lovely restaurant on site and the food was great quality and value. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms so bring your own if these are important to you. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Great location about 200m from the sea and in the heart of Machico. A good hotel for those who like a beach location which is only a short distance from the Airport. Not a great amount of nightlife but a good selection of restaurants nearby as well as the restaurant within the hotel itself give good choices for guests.

Good location but can be noisy if events going on

Nice large room with balcony looking at Ocean. Rooftop terrace was great to relax but it was not busy so we were ok, but only 3 beds. Fridge had to be plugged in. We were charged for a night even though our plane could not land on the island due to bad weather.

Modern, clean, friendly.
The Continental Breakfast pretty good for a small hotel.
I ordered the Full English but was a bit disappointed with the fact that the sausages were actually those tinned hot-dog sausages. Not the greasy spoon heart attack food I was hoping for.
I have stayed here twice. It is in the centre of "town"
The walks and scenery are excellent around Machico, but that is the case all over Madeira.
It has an imported sandy beach.

White Waters Hotel , Machico.

My partner & I stayed here for a week. The Hotel is well placed in Machico for the seafront & Restaurants but has a good restaurant of its own, too. As the Hotel has only been open around 4 yrs, everything looks in good order & is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The Hotel owners Manuel & Fatima, are around a lot & show interest in their guests & their experience of the Hotel & the Island. Breakfasts were 'continental' style & nicely presented with good variety. For the lover of the 'full English' that is available too (for an extra payment.)
I can heartily recommend the Hotel , & the Island, but the week we had there it rained quite a lot!

Entspannter Aufenthalt

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute zentrale Lage. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer mit kleinem Balkon mit Blick auf das Meer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mit dem Auto braucht man etwas Glück um einen freien Parkplatz zu finden.

Potential, but I won't come back in this state

This place has seen better days and really need some work.
- no airco, or even a fan. But also no shield to avoid mosquitos getting in.
-Table, nightstand everything is broken.
- our sheets had stains in it.
- breakfast was ok, but the coffee is horrible.
- no parking, you need to drive 3 streets away to park your car.
- they placed a sharp, square doorstopper under the toilet, scratched my foot on it!!

On the positive side the rooms are spacious and with some TLC it could be better. Just place a simple fan on hot days, install shields for mosquitos and buy a decent coffee machine.

We payed roughly the same for all our hotels in Madeira and this one was by far the least value for our money.

Ein Hotel um zu schlafen mehr nicht - gute Lage

Super Lage des Hotels, sehr freundliches Personal. Hoteleinrichtung aber bescheiden bis abgenützt. Insbesondere die Teppiche in den Zimmern sind in einem schrecklichen Zustand (warum Teppich in einem Hotel in der Nähe vom Meer?)
Badezimmer zum Teil müffelig (wir hatten zwei verschiedene Zimmer). Morgenessen qualitativ knapp genügend. Infrastruktur Restaurant: Die Stühle sind "durchgesessen".... Alles in allem: top Lage, kurzer Weg zum Flughafen, Sandstrand (!) in der Nähe, gut gegessen in nächster Nähe

Goed voor 1 nacht

Het inchecken ging goed, de dame was zeer vriendelijk. De kamer is erg basic wat op zich niet erg was. Wel vloerbedekking op de grond wat echt niet hygiënisch is. Eenmaal in bed voelden we het ijzer van de spiralen. Zo hard en zo pijnlijk! Dit moet echt vervangen worden. We hebben amper geslapen.
De douche is goed, wel echt oude handdoeken met zichtbare slijtage.
Het wasmiddel wat gebruikt wordt voor het beddengoed vinden wij ook niet lekker maar dat is persoonlijk.
Ik had bij het ontbijt erg veel zin in koffie maar na 1 slok hoefde het niet meer.
Het is best een hele leuke plek en heel erg vriendelijk personeel maar ze zouden de matrassen moeten vervangen en een andere koffie machine aanschaffen.

Camere di dimensione media, bagni con bidet. Buona sia la colazione che la cena, a pagamento. Machico ideale per effettuare le escursioni nell'est di Madeira. Abbiamo avuto un problema idraulico che ha coinvolto diverse camere, risolto in giornata.

Très bon hotel. Nous sommes arrivés tard a cause de notre avion (1h30 du matin). Nous avons du appeler le gardien pour qu'il nous donne la clé. Il n'etait pas sur place mais a été rapide à arriver. Le petit-déjeuner est bon. Il y a du choix. Seul bémol : les matelas qui sont un peu dures.
