Hospitality was amazing at this hotel. Our first trip to S. Korea and the staff was so helpful despite the language barrier. Angie at check-in was beyond helpful with recommendations for sightseeing. There was a serious lack of proper and proactive communication throughout my stay.

First, there was no information provided that the gym and facilities are closed every Tuesday of the month. I had planned my schedule around using the gym in the evening, and this completely disrupted my plans. When I approached the front desk to ask why guests were not informed, I was told that the information had been shared with Expedia. However, I was never notified.

On the second day, I went to the gym 30 minutes before closing, as I saw it closes at 10pm. I was then told entry is not allowed after 9pm. This was not clearly communicated anywhere. The staff member’s attitude was unfriendly. He avoided eye contact, responded in an impatient tone, and appeared more focused on his own tasks and conversations. The service felt unprofessional and poorly trained.

On the third day, there was confusion regarding parking charges. I understood that one parking space should be complimentary, but I was charged. It appeared the system was based on one registered car plate rather than one car per day. The explanation was unclear, and the staff’s tone made it feel as if they were doing me a favour rather than assisting a guest. There was no acknowledgement of inconvenience.

Overall, there was a clear lack of communication, service mindset, and customer care. This was very disappointing.

The room had a noticeable draft, especially near the sofas and the side of the bed close to the windows, which made it quite cold. The TV had no English channels, and the in-room dining menu offered very few vegetarian options and closed surprisingly early. Given that it was New Year’s Eve, the overall food options in the hotel were very limited.

Additionally, the hotel did not provide the usual shower and bath products that most hotels offer, citing “green” reasons, which felt a bit inconvenient. Breakfast was also limited for vegetarians, and the need to book a time slot made it less flexible.

The location wasn’t ideal either, as there wasn’t much of interest around the hotel. The only positives were the lovely view and the concierge/reception staff, who were genuinely helpful.

The staff are excellent. They were so quick to help us with our bags and were so polite. Hotel room was spacious and everything looked modern. The reason for 3 stars:

1. Our bathroom drain smelled so there was an unpleasant sewer like odor the whole time. I called to get it cleaned but never heard back and it may be something the staff could not address.

2. Soundproofing is not good. You can hear door slams and kids in corridors. Our neighbor happened to be very loud and to the hotel’s credit, the hotel staff got them to quieten down. But it was not a pleasant experience.

3. Though the hotel is new, some areas were obviously not built to quality. The drain smell is one and the other is loose fixtures. It’s never nice to wake up to your phone not fully charged because the outlet was loose.

It didn’t really feel truly 5 Star so if you book, you may have to temper your expectations.

This hotel is an oasis after spending days touring Seoul. The views from the restaurant & bar are one of a kind. I really enjoyed the staff, concierge service was top notch.
My room was spacious and comfortable. I would stay here again.

The room was way too hot. Unable to cool the room even with the window open. The temperature was around 28 to 31 degrees. We had to open the door to the hallway to cool down. I called the front desk and was told there's no AC in the winter and to leave the thermostat off. The shower temperature was also too sensitive.

Hotel naru was exceptional. It was very clean and quiet and had all the amenities we could possibly imagine. We were quite pleased with the location and the view. The spa and sauna and pool and restaurant were wonderful. Our room was lovely. I would highly recommend and stay here again.

This was my first time in South Korea and I found the transfer from the Airport by bus straightforward and the drop off point was close to the hotel. I was early so couldn’t get my room straight away but easily passed the time wandering around the local area familiarising myself. Subway really close by and easy to navigate. Hotel was good position, rooms were ideal, breakfast was amazing. Restaurant for dinner was expensive. Pool area lovely. All in all a great place to be introduced to South Korea.

I wouldn’t recommend unless you get a river view room. The river view is stunning, however the city view is right next to some residential buildings. It’s lack of privacy. Additionally, the service is very average especially with English speaking service. I guess they only target local people and it’s also majority of the guests. I ordered something in breakfast and it’s completely missed. The surrounding was alright. The staff encouraged me to get the first session of breakfast so that it’s not crowded but the breakfast coffee was poor. I tried to get the coffee elsewhere but nothing is open at 8:30 in the hotel. Overall it doesn’t worth the price. The overall experience only deserves half of the price I would say. There are a lot better hotels with similar price so I would suggest you look elsewhere.

I really had a blast staying in Naru! Brand new hotel, super design and clean. Every corner was super nice! Huge plus to the indoor/outdoor pool and sauna! Super friendly staff and great location if you are working around Yeouido area.
