Absolutely terrible. The place is disgusting, moldy, the doors don't close fully, it's noisy, it's barely staffed. Nowhere even near the water. The place was probably nice in the 70's. Actually, it likely wasn't even back then. Do not stay here.

Rooms were clean. Very cost effective as there were both breakfast and dinner buffets for an excellent price. About an 8 minute walk to the beach, but very doable. Our television didn’t work so someone came to fix it and if that was not a success, they had given us a key to another room. Very accommodating staff.

Noticeably less expensive than other options locally, this was a really good choice and excellent value for money.

A reasonably short walk to the beach, good (if expensive) shopping and restaurants.

I got a corner room with a decent sea view (it is set back further than some of the other options) which was a decent size, had nice toiletries, a good TV and (a very) small but perfectly formed balcony.

My rate was half board, with both meals being in the \"adequate\" envelope.

Masada Cable Car is maybe 15 mins away, if you are coming from the north via the inland road allow time to stop at one of the lookout points for the breathtaking view.

Again, a good option if you are visiting the area on a budget.

I have been to Israel 7 times although I visited the dead sea each time I have never stayed there. Being the first time staying at the dead sea for 2 nights my thoughts staying at the Leonardo inn hotel was that the customer service was friendly and helpful, there was ample place to park the car I had hired which was convenient. Food that was cooked in the hotel was delicious,overall a good location and great value for money.

The hotel is excellent, it has a good standard of cleanliness and security, but there are two important things to note: the hotel included breakfast and dinner but when I arrived I was told that dinner was not included, very bad because as a traveller you have to plan your expenses. And the front desk staff was good, the restaurant staff was not. First of all they didn't know any other language but Hebrew, which was a big barrier and secondly they don't treat the guests cordially. The workers are the face of the hotel.

Fairly typical beach resort hotel. We were there off season so not a lot happening. Nice little bar on site, 5 min walk to beach, room was comfortable, girl on reception was always friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast always had plenty of choice and hotel also gave us some nice complimentary extras. If you are coming via public transport make sure you know it doesn't run on Saturday or is very limited. We had to leave a day early to ensure we could get back to Tel Aviv for our flight home.

The ac unit was not working properly nor the blow dryer. The bathroom was unclean and outdated. We didn’t have enough towels and under the bed we found left overs of food. Nothing was good

Not sure why the other reviews aren't great. I didn't see the problems at all. Gorgeous pool, paddling pool for children, full time life guard, loads of space to sit around the pool, nice bar. Room was clean and lovely, breakfast was excellent, loads of different foods. When we arrived we got a large bottle of water, chocolate and a bag of dead sea mud. Beach is a bit of a walk away in the heat, but we drove round the corner and parking was cheap.

The receptionist didn't have her mask over her nose. When I asked her to put it over her nose she replied she couldn't breathe and that I should move 2 meters away from her.
The rest of the staff didn't wear masks either.
The music at the pool was very loud, couldn't rest even in the room. It was Saturday afternoon.
The food was not fresh or tasty.
The pool area was very dirty.

The hotel is far from the sea and dont have a ride to the bich - like in ather hotels.
They dont have salt pool - like ather hotels.
There were 1 pool 4 all the gust.
The 1 elvither that they have didnt work for 24 h. We r old pepole with hart problem so we had to klimb stairs.
Iam staing a lot in hotels, and it was the worset of them.
I dont rekemend it.

Our room was OK. The TV did not work. After a tiring day if travelling to get to the hotel u just want to kick off ur. Shoes and relax with a good movie... Called a few times to the reception and they sent a handyman to fix the tv only to find out it cannot be totally fixed. The screen showed snowy movies. Was a bummer. My husband was taking a shower... In the middle of the shower the water stopped. This happened a few times during our stay. The food was great though. The hotel is old and could us a lift up. In the room The bedside lamps wires were exposed...looked dangerous if kids touched it... The staff was friendly but housing keeping staff Not so...
Not sure if we will go back.

Pool was not heated and too cold to swim. Cat poop all around the pool.

The only fruit at the buffet was apples with labels from the supermarket and canned pineapple. Given the abundance of fresh fruit available in Israel we had expected a selection at the buffet. Otherwise the food was great!

I was promised a second key, but they never got ot despite the promise. Cigarette butts scattered all over the property. Staff disappears to get another smoke every few minutes. Leonardo Inn is closed!

We made the booking two days before coming and when we arrived they said the Leonardo Inn was closed and we chose from 3 of their other hotels. It was a really run down hotel so we were glad to not to have to stay there. At first I thought it was a scam so I called hotels.com and it wasnt.
So the Leonardo Inn I would give a 1/10 only because of location.
So we picked Leonardo club which was all inclusive. It was also having tons of renovations on the room and pool and beaches. It was beautiful to have our own private beach. There was lots of food options but overall it wasnt very good. It really caters to israelis and russians which I am not. The service staff was really annoying they were all very young, barely spoke english, and obviously couldnt care less. I give their service 3/10.
They have jacuzzis and a salt sea pool which was super cool.
Overall it was great we got upgraded but it was annoying it wasnt clearly communicated before.

First of all, they do NOT have a 24-hour airport shuttle service. When I called in advance about the service, the staff member seems to indicate that it was an error on Expedia. Taking a taxi from the Tel Aviv airport to the hotel costs 638 NIS. Second, I had mixed experience with the staff. The air-conditioning did not seem to work, so I requested a different room. After talking with three staff members, I was referred to the manager, who gave me a different room. It does not have to be this difficult. However, the staff was helpful in getting a taxi for me to go to Masada early in the morning and prepared a box breakfast for me, which I appreciate.

We had a rough day and we were put on the floor above check-in. Around 8-9 pm they had a party or karaoke. The music was so loud that in our room we were unable to watch television or even really talk to my partner. I complained to security and they said ohhhh about 10 pm it should be over. At 10:05pm when it had not stopped I walked to the front desk and complained. They said it would last at least til 12 am. My wife and I left the hotel for the 2hours plus before the music stopped and were 1/4 mile away and could still here the music with the car running. Atfter it stopped we went back up to our room and within 15 minutes we heard what sounded like construction that lasted until after 3 am. (Trucks, gravel being loaded ,dropping of metal pipes?) Does it matter whatever it was? Then at around 4 am sounded like a cat had her tail caught in a meatgrinder perhaps in heat? Whatever. As we checked out I went back to our room/ my wife was in the lobby listening to another guest complaining. The manager on duty didn’t fix his complaint either according to my wife. She was just sitting in the lobby with our bags and the manger asked if she enjoyed her stay. When my wife’s told of our concerns he was belligerent. I had come back in the middle of the conversation and I spoke with the manager and told him the exact things I am saying above. He could care less from his attitude. He took my email address to have his boss address the issue with me. Still waiting 5th day since our stay..

If you happen passing by this hotel, keep passing by. Nasty staff and horrible conditions. The night we stayed, they had a party on the 1st floor just below us that was doing karaoke until 1Am. It was so loud, our room was literally shaking. Staff was absolutely arrogant and paid no attention whatsoever to our complaints. We ended up sleeping in our car for 3 hours until the party was over. When we finally came back to our room, we couldn’t have any rest again due to the noise coming from the construction site just next door to this horrible hotel. On top of that, all the premises are full with Ferrell cats that were crying until early morning. Our room was dirty, the shower was stinky. The absolutely worst experience we’ve ever had. Stay away!!

Room size was confortable, but we had to request for them to clean it since we found an egg on the balcony side inside the room. There is more than just changing the bed sheet!!
The hotel is pretty beat up and unfortunately they decided to get construction workers to start removing the floors and work on upgrading the restaurant while we were there,,, there were many guests complaning of allergies and We didn't feel confortable eating there after that, also I need to mention that they just keep bringing left overs over and over since they do offer meals included. So the food is fresh on thursdays but after that it went down hill.. I could tell that salads were left overs.

The hotel receptionist called me in the morning and asked if we needed any special needs. The receptionist was very nice about explaining the facilities and gave us a free package of mud, a package of minerals, and best of all a 1 day pass to the HOD Hotel. The Hod Hotel has a spa and has a private beach on the Dead Sea.
We went to our room and immediately noticed the pillows with stains on the bed had no covers. The towels in the bathroom were wet. I called the receptionist, Maria who said at check in if any problems they would be fixed immediately. Maria said somebody will come to the room and take care of the pillows and towels. We waited approximately 5 minutes and a person arrived to put the covers on the pillows and gave us 2 clean towels.
Later we went to the lobby to get towels for the Spa. We and few other people had to wait approximately 20 minutes for towels.
HOD Hotel spa and beach were both excellent.
We ate such a tasty dinner and breakfast at the Leonardo Inn Hotel. The food is worthwhile to pay for even if you stay at a different hotel.

Filled with bugs and staff who are easily confused

The best economical lodging with excellent food

The spa was in and of itself worth the cost of the lodging. Arrive before check-in time and ask for a voucher to go to the spa (they have changing rooms & showers there). You can also use the spa right after checkout to make full use of the day you arrive and the day you leave.

We had a balcony with a nice view and we didn't hear neighbors except for anyone in the hall as there was a bit of a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor (which also brought in some light at night). The only reason I didn't give the highest rating of cleanliness is because of the carpet (particularly in the hall) needing a thorough shampooing including along the edges.

Despite the picture of billiards, there are no billiards -- or anything else to do after the spa closes at 6:30. The staff was helpful in informing me that there were billiards at a bar in the Lot hotel so we went there.

Also despite the picture there was no fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet but when I complained that I can't eat milk or eggs so I needed fresh fruit, they kindly brought me some fruit. (A sign on the tables says they will pleased to cater to special dietary needs) Otherwise the food was excellent, particularly evening dinner.

Pretty decent place

This was one of the more affordable places in Ein Bokek so I wasn't sure what to expect. The rooms have a nice Art Deco vibe, it was very clean, the balcony had a nice view (although the hotel isn't on the beach), and the breakfast was great (especially since it was during Passover). Overall, I recommend this hotel if you're looking for a more affordable place in the area. The other hotels in Ein Bokek can get very expensive.

Run down hotel past its glory days

The Leonardo Inn is conveniently located in Ein Bokek, an easy drive from Masada and hiking in Ein Gedi. However, the hotel itself is run-down and poorly kept. There is potable water available only from a filthy water room on each floor. The hotel lost power while we were there and the staff was extremely unhelpful (possibly due to language barrier). Breakfast and dinner are reasonable. There is no free internet despite what it may say on your reservation. Fitness facilities are available, but require driving to another local hotel. I will not stay here again.

the air conditioning kept going out, i rented three rooms there, one room, the air conditioner would be on for 10 minutes, then make a big popping sound, and they would have to come and repair it, it happened three times, when it did, it affected the adjacent rooms,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it is too hot there not to have a functioning air conditioner also, many times when you go to the front desk, no one is there, and you have to wait for 5 minutes for someone to show up

this hotel is horrible, old, very dirty, and the staff is as nasty as possible, the food is basic. the only good point is its location in Ein Bokek. does not worth its price !

Awful! 1/5 is too generours. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

This hotel was truly terrible. I'm never inclined to write reviews for hotels, but this was so bad, I feel duty bound to advise everyone here not to stay at this hotel... Why? 1.) The hotel is in poor condition, the lobby area hasn't been renovated for 20 years plus 2.) Rooms in poor condition; the door to the balcony didn't have a lock on it, the shower fittings were poorly fitted causing the bathroom to flood. 3.) Awful service. OVERALL I WOULD GIVE THIS HOTEL A ZERO IF THAT WERE AN OPTION.

like back in time

Well, there was two things excellent - food and peoplThe staff went out of their way to help, thmiles were on every face and in that matter the stay was a pure pleasure. The food was by far greater than in the 5-star star palace we stayed in after. BUT!
When I let my daughter play on the rug in the room in her white socks they became black in a minute. One morning my mother found a roach... in her glass on the bead-side table! A huge one! And the furniture... well, let's just say it needs changing. But it was the cheapest place on the shore, so I guess I should not complain.

Disapointing

Quite disappointed w this hotel. For the price we paid we expected more than this 2 star type of hotel. Sheets were ripped, and overall maintenance of hotel was poor. The only good aspects were location, and the food was really quite fantastic.

reasonably priced, clean, and cozy

My husband and I had a great time here. The food was very tasty (we ate both dinner and breakfast in), the room was simple but clean and comfortable, and there were fun little extras like the wandering peacocks in the yard and access to the Meridian hotel beach. The other guests were almost all Israelis, so we enjoyed practicing our Hebrew. (The very nice front desk people spoke English.) This is not a fancy place for fancy people, but if you want someplace reasonably priced and cozy, we'd recommend it.

OVERRATED

FIRST RECEPTIONIST WAS WONDERFUL,HOWEVER RECEPTIONIST IN THE MORNING WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL AND WAS VERY GRUMPY NOT JUST TO US BUT OTHER GUESTS . BATH LEAKED,TEA AND COFFEE SUPPLIED BUT NO MILK OR WHITENER. FACILITY IS VERY OVERPRICED AND NEEDS UPDATING. ASKED FOR A DOUBLE BED BUT GOT TWO SINGLES PUSHED TOGETHER

Old, not well maintained.

This hotel is probably one of the oldest in the area. It's about 10 min walk to the Dead Sea beach. They do have transportation ones in hours until 3 PM. We were renting four rooms and each of them had some issue. One room we had to changed as it had pipe leak under the toilet. Looks like they started renovations on the main floor and hopefully will get to the rooms next. Breakfast and dinner was good. Lot's of choices of local dishes. If you one of those who only eats what you know, you have McDonald across the street. Overall it was barely OK to spend 2 nights there. I rather pay extra for another hotel.
