Needs a lot of TLC and very bad communication.

The A/C was poor and we had a bad sleep because of this; waking up sweating in the night. This was the WORSE.
I’ve reached out multiple times for a wheelchair accessible room before we got there; and they didn’t respond or know until I addressed it at the front desk. This is the only place in Israel. I had to use my translator since they didn’t speak English too. The room they gave us was vacant for a long time since it was dusty and everything was unplugged. The remote control didn’t have a backing for the batteries and the bathroom that was wheelchair accessible looked crazy, because the shower bench was out of the shower area. The bench was directly across from the toilet and wasn’t even in the shower area..??
I should’ve took a picture, but I didn’t. I wouldn’t just say it was bad design but I couldn’t figure out why they put the bench (which was attached to the wall) in the this way except for them to say, “it’s wheelchair accessible”. It was the most absurd way to have a wheelchair accessible shower bench in the bathroom.
It was spacious rooms and the server in the dining room, was very hospitable and kind. I felt like the front desk was nice as well, but didn’t check the emails sent through Hotels.com.

We were woken up at 5am with by a huge cockroach crawling up our childrens curtain divider , when I tried to contact the reception there was no answer. I tried going to the front desk but there was no one on call. I spoke to the head of security that was at the entrance of the hotel but he said there is nothing he can do. Only at 7 o'clock the workers started their shifts, at 7 the man at the ground desk said he will send someone shortly, by this time we had packed our bags and woken up the children to leave the room, our father was in a room a few doors down we tried to wake them ,untill we did we tried opening the sofa bed for the kids but it was broken . In the end we woke up all the family and had to leave the room. We met the manager at 8.30 and she said she will change our room and we can stay a bit longer , however after that experience we didn't want to stay any more in the rooms , my father and mother who had paid for an extra night didn't want to stay but they did in fear there would have no place to go. This experience ruined our holiday and our parents holiday totally. The mangers answer was at 10 o'clock at night we should have told them about a cockroach that was in our room hours later ?? How were we supposed to know there would be a cockroach at 5am ? I'm sorry my cockroach you should have come at 10 in the night to avoid all our problems? Bit of a irrelevant answer.

The worst stay that we have experienced in a hotel .hotel outdated .. food served with plastic plates and cutlery …Service lacking ,hotel outdated .. unsafe elevators
We were double billed for the stay .. did not want to refund us until the next day . Sounded like this was a deliberate fraud .. as they used a second credit ( not mine) to transfer funds )
All in all just an awful experience!!

Management don’t care room very dirty the pillows and the bed so uncomfortable the floor is dirty and broking I broke my nails and hurt my toe. no air conditioner or heat working the food is disgusting not fresh at all 😡 did I mention that

Its pretty close to the beach. The elevator didnt work at all. There was only one elevator for the whole hotel, i went up the stairs 10 floors multiple times. Not enough parking spots, i wanted to rent bicycles but they were all damaged (they didn't break). The receptionist was HORRIBLEEEE amd there was a line to get dinner and breakfast..

The hotel was nice, the breakfast was amazing, and the location was great, but we had a toilet issue twice with it overflushing, and it was hard getting in touch with the front desk to have them address the issue as they didnt always pick up the phone/stay physically present at the front desk. The amenities were nice (the pool and the hot tub), but the hours were very irregular, and didnt always match what one front desk staff said to the next.

Royal Hotel Dead Sea not recommended

When I arrived the receptionist gave me a wifi network without a password. When I tried it, it did not work for WhatsApp. The telephone in my room was not working. So I had to return to the reception desk (from the 14th floor). The receptionist gave me another network with a wifi password. But it also did not work. I asked to speak to the manager, but had to wait half an hour for him to come to the reception. He did not apologise. He appeared to succeed in making a connection, but within a few minutes the internet was not working again. Not until very late when most guests were asleep did the internet work. I saw online that other guests already had already complained about the internet in the hotel, but the manager had done nothing to improve the situation. The lift made a terrible noise and clearly needs to be replaced. The breakfast was like a cattle market with crowds of people pushing in every direction and no table available for me to sit down. This is an expensive hotel, so it is quite shocking that people are spending a lot of money for inferior service.

The Royal Hotel was very nice, with a sea view from every room. We had a small balcony with the sea view. The room was big with a sitting area. Tea/coffee pot included too. Breakfast/buffet was included, and delicious. Parking included too. Very close to the Dead Sea beach, just across the street. Also close to shops and restaurants.

This hotel while not cheap to stay in, lacks many features of a nice hotel- the towels were small and not fluffy, the toiletries in the room were garbage, and the outdoor furniture on the patio and poolside were plastic and in disrepair. We had a nice time but these things should have been a step up considering the cost. The hotel staff were all lovely, the room large and clean, but I can't wrap my head around these cut corners.

Very best location, close to the shopping center, store and the beach. Hotel staff are nice and helpful. But they don't maintain this old hotel very well. Signs are not kindly posted, and they are outdated. There aren't restaurants as the signs say. There isn't Royal Spa as the sign says. It was super difficult to find the Solarium, which is not maintained at all. Not clean at all in many areas. It is too bad that they don't seem to try to this old, gigantic and beautiful hotel...

Hotel is very close to the beach. Rooms are very big and comfortable. Almost every room has a view to Dead Sea, but only from balcony. Good breakfast, big choise of meals. I belive that hotel was build between 1970-1985 and in that time it was very luxury.

Fair price, but could be much cleaner

Staff is great and helpful, but they are short in manpower. The room's floor was dirty, we objected twice about it and it wasn't resolved. They had shortage of towels at the pool. Food is nice, could be better. They let us stay longer before we left due to Shabbat times which is a great plus. I would visit again but if and only if the price is way cheaper than equivalent.

Overall Spa & Hotel decor are a bit tired, but very comfortable and spacious rooms. The staff at the spa are very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, if you get there after 21:00 the hotel doesn’t provide any room service anymore, so you’ll have to find your supper elsewhete. It would be desirable if the hotel provided with slippers to walk around in the spa. Also that the description of the food at breakfast would also be provided in English (and not just in Hebrew!). Breakfast buffet by the way was very good!

we had bad experience with this hotel, the inside of the hotel is old, and all the time its seem that the hotel try to save money- the air condition work only in the rooms. in the halls and in the lobby the not open the air condition. also the dinner and the breakfast not worth the money we paid, if you come late to the dinner you missed some part of the food, they not fill it. in our there was balcony but she was full of bird dirty and nobody clean it.

The rooms are quite big & the crew is non proffetional, but nice.
This hotel is in a very bad maintenance condition,
Flushing the toilet wasn’t possible on my room
Showering with closed doors so the water won’t come out, wasn’t possible.
Pool area is missing some parts of the drain net which can cause injuries..

I was told a certain price, bit given another at the hotel. No wifi! And with the price we paid, we should have been compensated for wifi. My brother got locked in the bathroom for 30 minutes until someone let him out! They sent him chocolates??! Was not impressed with much. Nice hotel, front desk staff is super friendly! We stayed just one night with breakfast and dinner included. It is all you need! Huge amount of food at the buffet. They gave us vouchers for free chairs at the dead sea. Plenty of towels, directly across the street from the Dead Sea. Nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable.

I had reservation two adults and two kids when I came to the hotel they told me that I have to pay extra for the kids I showed them the reservation but they didn't care I needed to pay extra 1,270 Shekels Yoni the guy in the reception was unprofessional and mean DON'T GO TO THIS HOTEL I saw bad review in the website but I didn't pay attention big mistake the hotel was dirty the sofa bed in my room was broken needed to add extra beds in our room we couldn't move there overall if you want to have good vacation skip this hotel the people are extremely bad and not friendly

We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the variety and quality of the food is pretty good.

The hotel is a little run down but the room was very comfortable. My main complaints would be 1) the staff wasn't really friendly or willing to help, 2) the facilities all close pretty early (7pm I think), and 3) the toilet doesn't flush very well, even after we brought it to the hotel's attention. Unfortunately the bathroom was a little stinky as a result.

That said, those are all pretty minor points. The stay in general was nice.

Excelllent Hôtel, well worth its rating. Staff very helpful, save for a very minor serviceman who was competent but hot too happy. Anything we asked for was immediately attended to. Very good sized room and large king bed. Bathroom also large and well equipped. Car parking on site was safe and secure. Recommended for sure. Close to Masada and Qmran as well ( the latter of coming from Jerusalem). Suggest hiring a car. The bus is good apparently but you won't see the full beauty of the area. Rental cars are cheap.

They might forgot or don't care about a few basics that every hotel has:
- phones don't work so you can't call reception but have to go downstairs if any question.
- No room info or signs like: Do not disturb sign, hotel book with facilities or room service menu.
- No real restaurant at hotel but a banquet hall turned into serving food.
- all stores are usually closed and no services offered
- outdated furniture
- They will trick you in with a good looking Vegas style glass front building that looks horrible in the inside.

Save your time and cash. Sleep elsewhere.
Don't fall for their low fare.
This place keep changing owners every other year. I guess why..

The hotel is impressive at first glance. Nice and roomy, fabulous views especially from Solarium (top floor). The spa is the best plus point of staying at this hotel. It has warm salt pools and hot Jacuzzi baths. It is really magnificient bathing in this water. There is a nice outdoor swimming pool too. The breakfast too was lavish.Family room was very spacious.
The service from the staff in general however is rotten as they were very unforthcoming in anything that was needed during our stay. It didn't help either dealing with staff receptionists which were extremely unfriendly and stony faced throughout our stay.
We are frequent hotel travellers and have never encountered such unfriendliness attitude towards the customer. At first we were reluctant staying at a red faced (bad review) hotel. However the price and pools pulled us towards booking it. Once we had stayed there we could see why everyone seems unhappy with the staff. The management needs a serious facelift!

Horrible old hotel. Samuel the manager at front desk rude and obnoxious. I used the shower and when I came out the whole bedroom had water. I complained and all I got was sorry.

Good location very tired hotel

I stayed at this hotel aproximately 5 years ago and it was much better. Very tired looking now as nothing been spent on upkeep. No free wifi, staff not very helpful, it was a bit of DIY experience - find the clean towels find the hotel facilities no guide left in room. For the price disapointing and with just a little management interaction so much could be improved, probably needs new management!

The most disgusting hotel I've seen

We were so disappointed from this hotel, we had to check out 1 hour after checking in.
We had to pay for another night at a different hotel next door, which was amazing, the Isrotel Dead Sea Hotel.

Nothing Royal in this hotel!!!

By far the worse experience ever,
1. Broken Air-condition in one of our rooms.
2. Separated our family to 2 floors
3. Tried to charge us different rate, we managed to negotiate back to hotels.com rate
4. 1.5 hours wait for baggage to come up
5. rooms was dirty
6. Phone didnt work
7. Poor WiFi
8. Water pressure in shower was non existent, impossible to wash sand off
9. Rude Staff and Bell Boy - Just one manager named Ofer was great to talk to.
10. Check in process was non informative and rude
11. Dining room looked like a zoo and was dirty
12. hotel was dirty, wet and slippery floors

Family holiday

Took my kids on a short holiday at the Dead Sea.
Chose Royal Rimonim because of its good price.
Hotel conditions in general are poor.
Service was ok in some areas but at the restaurant in was very poor.
The location is very good.
The private beach is great.
