Hotel lobby and ambiance was 5 star. The explanation sheet they gave out was all in Hebrew. Should have had copies available in other languages. Room was large, comfortable, good view, balcony was excellent, plenty of hot water with great pressure. Had significant difficulty with unlocking the door. After many conversations with the hotel staff I learned that if you put the room entrance card adjacent to a mobile telephone the electronics in the telephone scrambled the door entry key code. Also once the green light flashed on the key card you had to raise the door handle and then press it down to open the door. Their was two electric plugs on one electric out. One was for the refrigerator and the second was for a light on the desk. Providing a suitable 2 socket extension cord would have solved the problem. Other minor items were discussed with the hotel staff. Indoor and outdoor salt water pools were large and excellent. The dining room was immaculate, waiters and servers gracious and helpful. Food was plentiful but not of the highest quality. Steak was so full of grizzle that I could not chew or swallow it, Dessert was below par and the same for the first to nights. On the third night it improved considerably and was considered satisfactory. Shuttle to the Dead Sea should also stop at the central shopping area In summary we totally enjoyed our stay, can highly recommend the David hotel and will stay there again. A few minor improvements could raise the hotel to a 9 level.

We really enjoyed the stay at David hotel! It was very clean, breakfast was amazing! Indoor salt water pool was heated, outdoor pool is beautiful but not heated. Beach is across the street which is about 5 minute walk. Overall it was a pleasure.

Unfriendly staff. No greeting upon arrival, only stares. Concierge on cell phone ignoring me. Inept reception. Slow checkin. Amenities in room were missing. No coffee, no bathrobes. Leaky shower onto floor, two lights inoperable. Indifferent attitude on checkout when I complained. Room was overpriced, $400+ USD per day. Bad choice.

Our electricity kept going out, we asked for a new - and upgraded - room, as shown as available on hotels.com. They said, those pictures are out of date, they are from before renovations. Who did the renovations, Mickey freaking Mouse? Because it looked like a rat chewed through half of our room. We couldn't even call room service because the 1920's phone kept dislocating. Summary: extortion of price for mediocre place.

Beware of the cleaning man entering the room when naked

They enter the room while we were inside and naked, 15 minutes before checkout time. Terrible, embarrasing.
When I complained , the manager told me that is the procedure, horrible service. 15 min before checkout! They could wait and try to reach us before entering the room

This is the dirtiest hotel I ever stayed at, especially the pool area. The service was horrible, personnel very rude everywhere. Everything closes, including the dead sea beach at 5. There is nothing to do there after 5. The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Stay away!

Lackluster for the price.

We’ve stayed at David Dead Sea quite a few times. This time was lackluster to say the least, especially for the price. We chose a room with a sea view, and we got a view of the parking lots and other hotels. Little did we know the pool view is actually the real sea view. The room was ok, but some things were falling apart. Some of the outlets didn’t work either.

The entertainment at the end of the night was great though!

The resort is amazing! Highly recommend paying a little extra for the breakfast and dinner buffet. The beds are the only thing I had a problem with. They were super uncomfortable but I found that’s generally the case with Israeli hotels (not all, but at least the ones I stayed at)

Our room had a wonderful view of the pool and dead sea. It was comfortable and clean. There was a bar fridge in the cupboard that made it difficult to access anything in the fridge, because it's door opened the wrong way.
Our extra bed wasn't made up and reception wouldn't arrange anything unless you went downstairs and spoke to them. In fact it was difficult to even get reception to pick up the house phone. Had to call the hotel from our mobile. We had problems with the TV late at night and a repair guy did come and fix it.
Access to the beach is via quite a long walk through the front entrance and right around the side street.
The breakfast was great.

Start with the management of hotel, I had very unpleasant experience on May 14th. It is Mother day in USA and my son and pregnant wife wanted to wish me Happy Mother's day. My Son lives in Jerusalem and it was supposed to be few hours plan.When they arrived security wouldn't even let them enter the lobby.They were standing outside until I had to go downstairs and pay for \"funday\".I was thinking that we would get together and have lunch outside the hotel properties. But nobody were listening to any of us. My son and pregnant daughter in law were standing outside in the heat until I would pay the \"Fun.day.\" price. Only than security let them in...Administrator didn't offer them water to drink or place to sit. The worst part was at the freshwater pool. I showed lifeguards that pool was contaminated with human waist products and kids and adults were in the water. The only action was taken it's to scoop the 💩 from the water and not letting people know that water is contaminated.Hotels management didn't close the pool for disinfectinon.I like to use solarium on the roof top and traveling to Dead Sea once a year for taking care of my skin condition. Every time staying at David's hotel .This year was infestation of the flys and it was extremely difficult stay in solarium and even worst to lie down or sit on the roof we were eaten alive. Not great but likely the best in the area.

While this is likely the best option for that area you should prepare yourself for the lack of cleanliness particularly in the spa and locker rooms.

Staff is incredibly rude and incapable of hospitality or accommodation. There is no way to lock your belongings up if you plan on checking out and continuing to use the property. They will hold your stuff but it will be in the lobby out where anyone can just take it.

Besides the rude and unhelpful staff and rusted/unkept spa/locker rooms, the hotel does its job as far as giving you a place to sleep. While the rooms (especially the bath tub) are not sparkling clean I felt comfortable sleeping there and the Dead Sea experience is well worth it!

Day one, check in: total chaos. Very long line and only three check-in clerks for the size of the hotel of about 1,000 rooms. People are screaming and yelling. Finally, I got my room. Not what I expected. The room was in need of repairs. The sliding door would not slide. The refrigerator is behind the sliding door inside the closet and the door is facing inward. The weirdest thing I've ever seen. The Internet doesn't work. I complained to the management and was given a runaround. Finally, after speaking to many managers and assistants of general managers I got another room. The Internet is still spotty and for the most time is not usable due to very low level signals and or very low bandwidth. After speaking with many managers it appears that they have a systemic problem with the internet among other things. I tried to enjoy the Terrace but in their infinite wisdom they pointed a high power projector right at my Terrace to light up the side of the building that practically nobody sees. The only way I could avoid the blinding light to see the sea was to move deep inside the Terrace. Again, I spoke with many of their managers to turn the light off and they promised me that they would but they never did. I wasted a lot of time with them with aggravations during my vacation that I was supposed to enjoy. I have never experienced such uncooperative, indifferent and simply unaccommodating management and staff in over 40 years of travel. They seem like they're in constant damage cont

When checking in ,and asked about the pool the staff failed to say that kids under 16 can’t enter the pool. They even gave us 4 towel vouchers.
Only when going to the pool we were told that kids under 16 are not allowed to enter.

Our experience at the David Resort at the Dead Sea a bit disappointing.
The room and resort seemed clean and comfortable.
Staff was another issue.
The worst of it was when I called the front desk at 8:30 a.m. on the morning of checkout on Monday, September 19th. A young woman answered the phone and refused to speak English to me; she kept repeating \"evereet\". I told her that I don't know Hebrew but she kept repeating \"evereet\" over and over. I asked if there was someone who speaks English and she said no. I thought staying at an Israeli 5 star resort, that caters to international travelers would be a bit more professional and accommodating. It was very disappointing. I stayed at this property 11 years ago without incident and decided to return.
But not again. I have worked with the public in America as a customer service representative for over 40 years and I cannot recommend this property anymore.

The hotel is located near the sea shore and had a great spa and swimming pool , staff are very helpful .
The room had a cattle ,but no tea or coffee.
Few linings has some stains , the bed sheet was short ,thus expising the mattress which is not clean.
The room wasn't cleannes well ( especially the toilet.
We asked for a small treat as part of bday ,staff said it will cost .
As 5 star hotel ,its inappropriate manner ,when dealling with very cheap additions as mentioned.

The overall stay was horrible! Started from the moment we arrived, the valet watched us pull our bags out of the car, no curbside assistance. The check in wasn’t bad, but they provided little to no information unless you asked questions. The pool was nasty! Plastic cups floating in the pool, life guards were watching their phones. We walked over to the Dead Sea and deeply disappointed with the amount of trash! We got back to the hotel and fire trucks everywhere, someone started a fire in the kitchen…this point we asked if it was safe to return to the rooms and the receptionist said yes as if we were bothering her. I can honestly say the receptionist were the most rude staff I have ever experienced! For the price you pay, you get better service and amenities on the Jordan side for half the price. I wasn’t stay here again if it was free!

The size of room was good and clean, but the room itself would benefit from uplifting. Wood panels in the corridor had multiple scratches and looked like after a big fight.
The stuff was helping, though not particularly friendly and many of them did not understand English.
You can only get to the Hotel. If you want to use the local bus you have to have some mystical card which you can't buy in or anywhere near the Hotel.

Check in is supposed to be at 3pm, but when we arrived we discovered that check in STARTS at 3pm- which means it can also be 4,5,6 pm!
We only got our room at 4pm, and that was after we stood in line twice, for 20 min each time, just to get to the reception and understand why the room isn't ready.
They are supposed to send you a text message when the room is ready- and no such message was received.

Coffee/tea maker: Only a kettle and a mug in the room after checking in. Hotel staff brought two more mugs and a broken carton containing a few sachets of instant coffee and sugar and a dirty and used plastic spoon with coffee stain.
Restaurant: Breakfast is very good. There are a lot of choices. But you must be beware of dirty mugs and plates before you use them for coffee and food.
Communication: Some staff do not understand English.

This is a shame that this beautiful resort is filthy beyond words, especially a sauna and massage areas where more attention is needed due to germs. All glass windows (rooms, hallways, spa), even the glass doors of the saunas are so dirty they looked foggy. I was afraid to touch anything. My husband went for a massage and they gave him 4 dirty towels. He asked them to replace them. They also let people in the pool in regular clothing when the rule says they must shower first. Nobody really cares about anything. What is worse: the Dead Sea in front of the resort is full of trash too, anything from beer bottles to carpet, sun beds and shoes. I saw locals throwing away soda cans while walking on the salt flats. This place needs a serious clean up at the hotel (from hygiene to better management) and at the beach. By the way: people are serious phone addicts here, people behind the front desk can’t put their cell phone down, everybody is texting and facebooking while talking to you and doing business with you. This is how welcome and important you are.

Service was horrible at this hotel, phones seldom answered, front desk overloaded, staff not trained, ran out of robes, no room service. Beach is across the highway from the property and there is no service or mud at the beach.

This is a beautiful hotel with good food, nightly entertainment and a typical Dead Sea spa that has longer hours than some other facilities.

Dreadful front desk staff

Lovely hotel, breakfast amazing.. Front desk staff.. HORRIFIC... COULDN'T GIVE A TOSS... TOTALLY UNHELPFUL AND RUDE

The pool was closed, really really disappointed, even asked to leave the next day but was told we wouldn't get full refund.
the bathroom was disgustingly dirty with hair from previous users.

The location was great. However, the hotel staff were the most unhelpful and unfriendly that I have ever come across. I would not recommend anybody to stay in this hotel if you are tourist as they are either incompetent or plainly does not care!

Bed cover had a hole. One pool was closed. No iron in room, and the public iron was out of commission. Concessions at the pool were closed. Bird poop on the patio table and railing.
Breakfast and supper were amazing. Room was nice. The pools were nice.

Huge hotel outside salt water pool Good choice of food
The facilities rooms highly demand the renovation
The cleaners is far from ideal condition
The Sea side beach is a little far from the hotel
The total mark up to my opinion is 3.5 from 5
