Pleasant, quiet location.
Comfortable bed, but pillows lumpy.
Breakfast was OK, buffet but somewhat limited compared to less expensive hotels, that we’ve stayed at.
For example bacon appeared every 3rd day.
There is an egg station, toast and jam, 2 cereals, cut local fruit, local coffee.
10 minute walk to the beach.
There’s a Circle K small convenience shop 1 minute away.
Shower in bathroom is quite grotty with mould and dirty grout.
Pool has thick mould/ algae around the edges and in the grout.
There was a power failure when checking out and they took forever to confirm we’d paid and they wouldn’t let us leave while they faffed around, their paperwork leaves a lot to be desired.

It was a smart pick. Walkable to the beach, restaurants, and shopping areas. However, It towels were old and it has a bad smell in the bathroom. It has hard water to take shower. Rest of hotel were clean, good swimming pool, and restaurant with good food and prices.

I loved the genuine Bali style, beautiful gardens, walking distance to shops and beach. Probably would of liked more kids for my son. Very lovely and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Would stay there again.

The properties design is traditional Balinese, it is a beautiful hotel and in a perfect spot in Seminyak. It is a quick walk to the shops and restaurants and about a 8 minute walk to the beach, the hotel has its own restaurant and room service with reasonable prices. The gardens around the property is beautiful and the staff are very lovely, they have a free hotel shuttle bus that goes to Kuta twice a day. There is a little Mini Mart before you drive into the hotel which is very convenient, we loved our stay here and highly recommend this hotel. We will return here again.

The Bali Agung Village was very welcoming, helpful and clean. It’s centrally located in Seminyak. Close enough to the main strip, but also off to the side where you don’t hear all the noise.

Only complaints we had was the room we stayed in didn’t have a very strong AC system so it got pretty warm, and the bathroom shower accumulated water that it ended up leaking out. We didn’t make a fuss since we were only here for 2 nights.

Overall a good place to stay.

Beautiful grounds but intrusive staff

The location and property were beautiful and staff was friendly however, the woman responsible for cleaning our room was very pushy and literally stood outside our room about five times a day waiting for us to leave, asking us to leave, or just coming in and asking us how our day was. At first she seemed very friendly but after a couple days of this it got annoying and we desperately wanted our space to the point where we had to keep our door closed and locked at all times. It may have been a cultural thing, we are from the west, but it did put a damper on our stay there. However, that would be the only negative portion of our stay at the hotel.

Girly trip

The Bali Agung Village was in a good location. Close to the beach and also to nightlife. Myself and my 3 friends walked from the hotel to a lot of things nearby. We only had the breakfast once, as we decided to try different places that had been recommended by people we knew who had also visited Seminyak. The pool was quite busy so it was hard to get a sunbed. Some people had reserved beds with the towels provided by the hotel, but we never saw them so those beds could’ve used by other guests. We were met on arrival with a drink and snack. The staff were very helpful and helped us with our luggage (which was heavy.. oops!). They were great at getting us reliable Blue Bird taxis when we travelled a bit further a field. There were 3 of us in one room which was quite cramped for three girls getting ready, but it was manageable. The shower was a bit temperamental, but the hotel were aware of the issues with the temperature and pressure, so I think it may have been planned works. I’d stay here again.

All staffs are very nice and friendly. But the cleanliness of room is really bad. I found blood stain on my bedsheet, and a lot of foodprints on my friends’ pillow case and bedsheet. Floor is sticky and dusty. It’s quite late when we arrived, so we didn’t ask for change room. The hotel change another room for us the next day, but they didn’t do anything as compensation .
I don’t think I will go back again.

Stayed only one night. It was really village and old Balinese style hotel but inside room is clean enough. Checked in very late night but staff picked us up at Airport to the hotel by taxi. I forgot my jacket and they also kindly sent it to another hotel.

Bali style hotel in Seminyak

The Bali Agung Village was a pleasant place to stay in Seminyak. It is a traditional Bali style hotel if that is what you want.
Pros: Ample breakfast, free transfer from or to airport (one way only), good aircon which we had to turn to a bit warmer, mostly good staff, good and clean pool, no Aussie yobbos, mainly middle age to older people with a mix of Australian, German, and Dutch clients.
Cons: Down a lane off the main road, although only a 5 minute walk to restaurants and shops.
While we were there, the Indonesian owners came from Jakarta to celebrate a birthday and invited all the guests to join them for dinner, with food, beer and soft drinks included. The matriarch, in her late 70's, sang and danced. They obviously care about this hotel.

The truth is better

We arrived for an 8 day stay. Instead of going to our villa, we were taken to a hotel next door (Grace) owned by the same people. This was going to be for 2 nights while plumbing at our villa was being fixed. We were told it was an upgrade, as it had its own pool. Yes, the pool may have been nice but the lounge area was outside, with a large bedroom and bathroom through a door. There was no TV in the bedroom. So when you came back to your villa and wanted to watch TV after dark, you were carried away by mosquitoes. The villa was very old, so when this was an \"upgrade\" we were suspicious. The next day we asked to see the villa we had booked, that was being fixed, to compare. They took us to a basic room. We told them we had booked a villa. They then told us they could not show us our villa as it was being used. We asked to see management and eventually, after a lot of nervousness by the staff, we were told they had a Dutch tour group that had taken all the rooms.
They would have known about this weeks before, and should have let us know. Lying to us to cover up was the wrong thing to do.
We made sure we told management how unhappy we were. This was our 4th visit to Bali, and we will not be going back to this place.
Not sure if this is a regular occurrence but they seemed to have their story right, and if we had not questioned it, we would never have known.
When we eventually got to our villa, there was no hot water. They had run out of gas.

Lovely villas very clean and comfortable, with awesome shower. Pool and outdoor dining area was fantastic, food was excellent with great evening entertainment with very attentive staff, would definitely stay again. Close to the beach and walking distance to Seminyak square and Bintang supermarket nice quiet oasis is a busy area.

Nice Hotel & Friendly Staff

Hotel is clean and staff very friendly & helpful. Our first room the toilet flushed but didn't take anything away so next day we asked to move rooms which they were very accommodating. However our second room still didn't work probably but there was a hose next to toilet when you flushed & used the hose the pressure disposed of your goods (but the water in the hose smelt really bad) perhaps the septic tank was full & needed to be empty, Bathroom was small but sufficient. Breakfast buffet was nice and what I expected as we had been to Bali once before.
Hotel was down a side road then a wee ally way (seem safe if you weren't alone)
Beaches in Seminyak were dirty not like Sanur where we stayed last time.

Quiet hotel in good location

Traditional Balinese style hotel with thatched roofing and plenty of greenery. Friendly staff and nice and quiet while still being close enough to walk to the beach and Main Streets of Seminyak. (Beach less than 5min walk, Bintang supermarket about 10min walk).
Small hotel so doesn't have a lot of the amenities like bigger hotels (eg no gym, smaller buffet breakfast) but overall a good hotel in a good location for the price you pay.
Pool on the smaller size but as not a lot of people it was never a problem. Plenty of sun around the pool beds in the mornings and early arvo but not as much mid-late arvo. Pool always had some sun.
Negatives: - booked a twin room but they only had a double which we had to stay in for the first two nights and then moved to a twin. Wasn't too much of a problem as they brought in a rollaway bed but didn't leave much room to walk around in. And was a little annoying having to pack up our stuff and change rooms.
- none of the toilets flushed very well. In both rooms (101 and 104) you had to flush 2-3 times before toilet paper went down. (They don't want you to put toilet paper down the toilet)
- doors and windows are wooden Bali style and there are gaps around the edges which mosquitoes can get in. The do have roll down blinds to cover it but can still get in and they do have a mosquito repellent thing you can plug in. In saying that, we only had 1 in our room for our whole stay so wasn't an issue for us but may be for others.

Cute and traditional but inaccurate marketing

Lovely room - balance of traditional and modern. Excellent value for money and kind staff.
However it is advertised as a 'smoke free' hotel; it was very much a smoking hotel, to the extent where guests are allowed to smoke over breakfast, so non-smokers had to dine at a local café.
Area has the potential to be idyllic; a quiet spot away from the busy main street. But loud live music on unscheduled nights in the hotel proved a disruption rather than entertaining. Aggressive dogs in the property next door also made walking to/from the hotel difficult.
Staff were very kind and willing to help but there were mixed messages and misinformation. Understandably a very relaxed culture but would recommend they ensure the hotel does what it says on the tin!

Convenient, peaceful with traditional feel

Even though the hotel was close to busy streets and the beach, once inside its grounds it is very peaceful and quiet with traditional architecture and beautiful gardens. The pool area was lovely too with the dining area close by. My only comment is that we booked a twin room which they did not have when we arrived so we had to move the furniture and put mattresses in the room for the 2nd person to sleep on. Also, the toilet did not flush properly. The staff are lovely and there is a free shuttle to the shopping area.

Beautiful traditional Balinese architecture!

The hotel and rooms are very beautifully designed, with the cluster of villas nestled amongst well maintained and lush greenery. They upgraded us from a room to a villa because they said the room type we had booked was full, so that was a happy moment. It's close proximity to the beach makes it ideal in terms of pricing vs access to the Seminyak beach. The only quibble we had was that the water pressure for the shower was so low the sky shower wouldn't get activated, the phone lines were down and the mosquito coil had burnt out but the housekeeping crew didn't seem to notice. But once the air conditioning was on, there were any mosquitoes inside the room. Because the coil was hosted, we didn't manage to enjoy the little private balcony which came with the villa.

The hotel was beautiful but I got bedbugs.

The lobby was gorgeous and it is a little oasis in the craziness of Bali, that being said I got bedbugs on my 1st night of 3 there. The manager did not seem to care and when I showed him over 200 bites on my back, legs, and feet he simply stated \"Well then we won't put anyone in there tonight\". I was not refunded any money and was basically told too bad. The manager was very unprofessional but the rest of the staff were quite nice during my stay. Unfortunately this was at the beginning of my trip so I was uncomfortable and itchy the remainder of it.

Good location and lovely village style

Location was great for us - close to beach, restaurants and shops. Love this style of hotel, this is what we come to Bali for, lovely gardens and good pool area. We didn't however get the newer, refurbished rooms, instead found the room smaller than what we usually get, even for this standard of hotel. Bathroom was okay, though a little small too and not cleaned as well as it could be. The bed was not that comfortable, they are often harder than home but this bed made us quite sore by end of trip. We mostly enjoyed hanging out on the balcony, where we would catch the most wonderful breeze.

Room mix up chaos, put in standard room when booked in suite. Daughter had to sleep on floor on mattress and room was so small when her mattress was down the door would not open. No proper bar, only a pool bar so had to sit on pool loungers when having a drink in the evening. Bar closed at 11:00pm. Poor breakfast

Seminyak - central and quiet

Traditional style Balinese buildings set amongst well maintained tropical gardens, Bali Agung is very close to beach and shops, yet set in a quiet neighbourhood. Breakfasts by the pool were delicious, and I would suggest muesli as an alternative healthy cereal. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed my stay there.

The courtesy pickup from the airport was a great start. The hotel complex itself feels so removed from the craziness of Seminyak. The traditional villas are private and set in a frangipani filled tropical garden. The hotel is low key, friendly and not many kids. Staff are friendly, helpful and not in your face. I would definitely go back.

Well worth the rate

I had booked a room online just a day before but they knew I was coming at the reception and even though my flight from Jakarta was nearly three hours delayed and I got there around midnight the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Though I wasn't sure how long I would be staying there was no problem in letting them know after my first night. Even though the hotel is located in a rather busy and at times noisy part of Seminyak Agung Bali Village is quiet and has a wonderful ambient atmosphere due to the lush tropical garden surrounding the cottages. The pool is clean and nice and the included breakfast was also good value.
The only thing I would point out as lacking is not only a minor problem at Agung Bali Villages - but a general problem throughout Indonesia and that is the lack of proper lights in and outside the room. I found a bit difficult to read my book when I was done with the computer.

Great small Hotel, lovely staff. The individual Villas are gorgeous very privte. . Feels like your off the beaten track a bit but great spot if you ride a scooter, and easy to get taxis etc. Still close to beach etc, easy to walk to places, would highly reccommend. Mozzies are a bit bad but just take the good old roll on aeroguard.

We stayed there for a large group of family members and everything was good. The location is great as it is only about 10 minutes walk to the beach. The rooms were OK. They are on the small side but that was fine for us as we just went there to sleep while spending our days visiting Bali. The ACs are not great as they are located right in front of the bed and kind of blast cold air in your face while you sleep (even when set to blow towards the ceiling on low speed). Not very comfortable but OK. The location is great and the facilities are very good. The pool is on the small side but fine to hang out and have a cocktail at the poolside bar. The restaurant in the hotel is good and has a good varied menu. Overall a decent hotel. Now, I must say that there is a big construction going on next to the hotel and if you have a room next to the construction side you may experience some extra noise early in the morning. Watch out for this.

The hotel was well located, well priced and staff very helpful. We booked 3 rooms and they were clean and generally functional, the pool and general grounds nice and quiet with a real bali/tropical setting. Down side was that the upstair rooms we had the shower pressure failed several times. But the staff would get onto it immediately and sort out the shower.

However, the aircondioning in our sons room was old and did not keep the room cool.

Deluxe villa

We stayed in the deluxe villa which I would definitely recommend. Great for anyone wanting the villa feel rather than a hotel/resort. It has a large bed, big modern bathroom and a small outdoor sitting area. The breakfast buffet each morning was fantastic and we made full use of the beautiful pool area with its own pool bar. The hotel is a few minutes walk to the beach and a five minute walk to the Main Street where lots of shops/restaurants can be found. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely little place

Really enjoyed staying here, good value for money. We had a deluxe room, which only comes with a very comfy double bed although we booked a twin room via expedia which doesn't exist here unless it's a standard room. Expedia, update please! The only negative was the air con, we were still really got in the room, I was ok but my friend struggled to sleep. Otherwise beautiful little villa's, close to the beach (five min walk) and brilliant for your money. Thank you BAV for a lovely stay x

Great location, nice and quite, 5 mins walk to the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The staff are terrific, always smiling and only too happy to help out with any requests you might have. The food was delicious and always well presented and the breakfast was great every morning. The rooms are traditional balinese style which is rare in Bali these days and the gardens are beautifully kept.

Love coming to Bali Agung it is my piece of paradise in Seminyak. Good breakfasts and a wonderful reception centre where you can read a book entertain friends or relax close by the pool . My only complaint is some of the rooms are a little dark , which is ok of you are only there to sleep ... other than that this is a wonderful place to stay excellent value for money.
if you want a real treat book a villa...

You would think they would fix the showers

Couldn't believe that after all the complaints about the showers that they weren't fixed. Cold water and not much of that.
I would suggest that hotels have non smoking in dining rooms - if you aren't a smoker it really is foul when your trying to eat when someone (or 4) lights up at the table next to you.
The pool is fairly small for a hotel of this size so I would suggest that hotel staff stop people from drinking and smoking in the pool while others are trying to swim. Also maybe put a time limit on how long guests reserve lounges - it's annoying when people leave towels on chairs for over an hour.
Breakfast could also be improved

Genuine and well located

Authentic Balinese style, made of limestone and straw. Great hospitality with complete breakfast. 10' walk from cafes, clubs, spas and shops. 20' walk to the beach. Cocooned in an exotic garden, keeping noise away. Very quiet and peaceful. All rooms with garden view. You wake up thinking you're in a plantation, with birds singing.
Taxi service very quick, taking 15' to north Seminiak, 45' to Kuta. Amazing value.

Bali Agung Village

The village was of an acceptable standard. A few bad smells around the accommodation areas but maintenance staff were prompt in dealing with these incidents.Generally staff were friendly and helpful. We were not happy when the courtesy bus failed to arrive for our pickup. The complaint was heard but know follow up was done, or apology made. On another occasion we were told we had missed the courtesy bus trip out by 10 mins but it was still on the drive? Perhaps a better understanding of the term, courtesy, is needed! Apart from that, the breakfast food was fine, the swimming pool clean, the rooms kept clean, and the gardens well tended.

Paradise within paradise

I've been to Bali 18 times and this truly was the best hotel experience I have had. The hotel layout and the rooms themselves are great, the gardens are gorgeous, the staff terrific, and overall it's excellent value for money.

Enjoyable hotel with really great staff. Special mention to Putri for the wonderful Dom Pedro drinks! My room was comfortable, however the bathroom ceiling had slight mould which could be cleaned/painted. The meals were good, the swimming pool really nice, and the overall stay was very enjoyable.

Makes a great home base

2x/day shuttle from Seminyak to Kuta is handy otherwise transport easily arranged. Staff was polite & helpful. Gardens lovely as us the pleasant pool area right off the restaurant. A good value & natural Balinese style bungalows very attractive. I'd go back for sure.

This hotel is 10\" walk to the beach, to shops & restaraunts & easy get transport for other activities. The public areas are traditional Balinese style and yet rooms are modern & comfortable with AC, frig & flat screen TV. Staff is friendly & helpful. A good value & excellent breakfast buffet included.

In the perfect spot

I enjoyed my stay very much. Staff were very helpfull and friendly and most spoke English well. The room was very comfortable with only things missing were a hair dryer, which I could borrow from the desk no problem and the other was a kettle as I'm an avid tea drinker. I would definitely stay again as its authentic Bali and is very well situated.

the worse thing was that it is tucked up a skinny bumpy laneway. But not a major problem

Talk about value for money!

My partner and I stayed in a 1 bed villa which was spacious, comfortable, huge bed, clean and massive shower head.

Staff were always friendly and very helpful - they went out of there way to ensure we had everything we asked for.

We got a great deal through Hotels for this one. If not I would have felt cheated about the almost 300 dollar price-tag of a 'villa'. It worked for us for one night and at a good rate. If we like most of the middle-aged to above other guests had paid full price I would have been super unsatisfied....

Nice, quiet location near the beach and shopping

Bali Agung Village is a well located, relatively inexpensive hotel. It's close to shopping in Seminyak, yet on a quiet back street (which is very important these days). Short walk to Kuta beach. Rooms on the second floor are best, as they are far more private. The pool is small, so best for just a dip rather than trying to get exercise. The crowd is mostly European, pretty quiet. Breakfasts are fine, nothing too exciting, but a decent selection. I am not planning a trip back to Bali, as it has gotten really overdeveloped and has lost its charm, but if I had to go for a conference or other event I would consider staying here again.

Very disappointing!

I don't recomend the hotel at all. First the location, It's close to the main street but to get there it's very day and when it rains gets worse, no pav at all. My mum had 2 motobikes surounding her to try to get her bag, very dangerous because it's quite and dark. We arrived there and the towels and sheets were dirty =(. The breakfast was not good, fruts were overipe and the yogurt tasted off. Artificial juice in a tropical country! The swimming pool looks good in the photos but it small. For the same price I could stay in a modern hotel. All the guests were complaining....very disappointing!

The Hotel was OKAY, it was a good location but walking back to hotel at late night scared me as it was in a dark shady lane. Breaky was pretty standard, rooms were also standard. Rooms did not have iron or hair dryer, and air con was very slow.
You get what you pay for. So for a cheap price it was okay! I may not go back to same place...

LOVE Bali Agung Village

it is a 3.5 star hotel that delivers 5 star, rooms are basic but have everything you need, staff are awesome, breakfast is great, location is excellent and a quiet haven from the busy streets of seminyak, legian and kuta. second stay here and wouldnt go anywhere else.
It has a lovely Balinese ambience. Wireless internet doesnt always work but works often enough, hey you are in Bali, and a supermarkey, laundry, beach, shopping and restaurants are all in a short easy walk, if you dont like this place then you may as well stay home. Its got all you need and more
