The hotel is very basic but it is clean! I was only there to sleep and shower and it was fine. There is no tv, no toiletries, no extras but for the price it was fine. Air conditioning was good and clean sheets and towels every day.

Good for the price

The staff are great, happy to help with anything. The hotel is quite run down but when you think about the price, I'm happy for what we got.

The cheapest room (I think Superior) has a 'shared patio' which is the patio in front of the 5 or 6 rooms. It's also under cover. My friends stayed in these rooms and were quite dark with only a very small window.

The other rooms have two chairs outside their front door which overlook the pool so a little more space and slightly bigger windows for a little more light.

There isn't much soundproofing so if you want a lie in and people are by the pool it can sound quite close!

The rooms themselves are a bit dated and I would say 'the little things' weren't noticed each day. You're given two bottles of water in the bathroom and two in the bedroom daily.

It's a 2 minute walk to the beach. Has a coffee shop, book shop and cute little clothes shop right by it. Sol's deli a minute walk (recommend) and othe restaurants 10/15 minute walk away.

Hopefully this helps the next person as we were unsure when reviewing! All in all, for the hotels we've stayed in and for the price we paid we all said we'd stay again.

Don't expect a lot.

The hotel condition is old so don't expect more than a poor accommodation. The location is not good and is isolated. At night the street is really dark (not danger at all, but really dark). The room was noisy and the water in the shower and tap was salty. Brekkie was limited and not even worth.

The photos shown are old and the premises and facilities in particular the \"Deluxe\" room we booked was appalling to say the least. Its actually the same room pictured in one of the promo pics. Dirty and moldy shower and bathroom. Loose floor tiles that move under your feet in room, linen smelled old and not freshly cleaned at all. The stairs to the room are bouncy, floors unlevel and just a shambles. The pool area is okay but far from what you see in the pics. We arrived late at about midnight so we didnt have much a choice but to crash the night.... we had breakfast in the morning which was \"ordinary\" and staff not interested in serving you at all. Anyway cut a long story short we decided then and their that we were going to book other accommodation elsewhere and forfeit our remaining 7 nights... THATS HOW BAD WE FELT IT WAS.

Very pretty garden and pool. Handy to beach and shops (within walking distance). We were on first floor and the stairs were dodgy. The shower had very poor pressure and sometimes didn't work at all. The staff were quick to come to fix it though. TV was very small in what was quite a large room.

Hotel was clean, tidy, and the breakfast was fresh and hot very nice.

Room clean and tidy.
Only issue was Hotel in back street and to get to 7up store was quite a walk.
Also no close shopping, or restaurant outside you hotel.
That was a bit of let down, as we like to try different eat outs, massage etc, but if you want to be quite it certainly was the place to stay.
Streets to dark to be walking around at night, and signs saying watch out for BAG SNATCHERS.
But if you wanted a rest that the place to go.
We did enjoy it there even though quick trip for dentist only.
I have been to Bali 3 other times and this part of Seminyak little quiet..
But not complaining it is what it is, we still enjoyed.

The hotel is in a tin down state. Tap water is salty, so you can't even take a proper shower!

Location is good if you are after the beach. But it's quite problematic if you want to go to main Street as the roads to hotel are narrow and vehicles will often cause a jam even for pedestrians.

This was a holiday with friends over 50's. I found the staff friendly and helpful. The location was a short walk to both beach and a little longer walk to Restaurants and Bars down the \"smelly\" road. A small variety shop is nearby for supplies. We needed to change rooms due to no hot water, the King Beds where the 2 king single mattresses met was uncomfortable, the pool was good, breakfast was lovely (although i did miss my bacon or a sausage) but they had eggs cooked in many ways for you, cereals (a bit sweet i found), fruit, cakes, croissants, juices and coffee tea. Friends also staying there had very low water pressure in their shower. For 2 nights there was a techno music festival on that went to early hours of the morning that did keep some friends awake. The bathroom lighting could be brighter and the shower pressure was fine although when fixing the hand held shower in its wall cradle it would have been better if it pointed down rather than out. Overall it was a good stay with Drink Service from fridge to 10pm.

We were not advised that the pool in this property was under construction. The pool had been emptied and was being re-tiled with large screens around which intruded on our view from the room. If we had known about this we would never have booked the hotel. We left after 2 nights and didn't return having to pay for other accommodation elsewhere.

Our room smelt and was quite unbearable, just happened to open the mini fridge and there was water in the bottom of the fridge. Not sure if this is why it smelt. Asked to change rooms which they did but having the air con on low all afternoon and night didnt make much difference. Close to beach which was great and breakfast was ok.

Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. 3 minute walk to beach and 10 minute walk to Seminyak Square. If you're after a luxury stay this is not the place. I really just used it as a base. The aircon was sufficient. The room although very clean is dated and the water pressure was terrible in the shower. TV but no English channels. Breakfast was mainly small buffetwith fruit and pastries tea coffee juice and noodles. You could order eggs to your liking and they were fine. The pool area is quite dated and needs a few repairs but great for a cool off. The price I paid for 15 nights was very reasonable for what you get. So if you just need a room in a handy location that is clean and friendly, The Sarinande will suit just fine.

Felt like we were in a brothel

Staff of the hotel allowed young escorts to enter the hotel everyday and knowingly let them in to the guest area and in to their rooms. Mentioned to staff but didn't seem bothered. Not a pleasant environment, especially if you have children around. Don't be fooled by the pictures and descriptions stating you have a patio/balcony! Most of the rooms have one window which looks out to an indoor corridor so the rooms are dull. The 'patio' is a communal area with seats outside your room door in the hallway of the hotel. Half the staff are friendly, the other half do not know what they are doing. Especially at breakfast the staff cannot speak any english so trying to communicate what breakfast you want is impossible. Asked for bacon, got a banana pancake. Queried this and got a plain pancake.
The hotel had a depressive vibe about it and we tried to spend as much time away from it. 5 minutes to the beach and 7 minutes to the main strip of shops/bars/restaurants. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, I believe you can get better value for your money.

The staff at this hotel were exceptional. A very family friendly atmosphere and quiet location. Our deluxe room was exceptional, lots of room, great bed, a large safe suitable for iPads etc. room was very clean everyday and air con worked great. The pool needs a bit of maintenance and the restaurant surrounds the pool right on the edge which may be a bit dangerous at times. Pool had not many umbrellas either. Not much atmosphere and the bar is not staffed very much. So if you are after a drink you have to go looking for staff. The hotel is quite small also. Breakfast was ok but probably not quite the standard you would expect. Staff delivered flowers to my wife when she got sick which was lovely. Staff and room make up for the pool and restaurant. Great for a quiet location and shops and restaurants are only 5minutes away and beach as well. We were overall very happy with the service and room, just let down by breakfast and pool/bar.

This is a good value hotel given it location. 5 min to central station, 10 mins to China Town and Darling Harbour and lots of restaurants close by. I only stayed in 1 bedroom apartment but it had a small kitchen and nice big bed. Have stayed there before and will again. In this day and age to only give guests 30mins free wifi I find a bit strange.

A very nice small hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast in the morning was quite simple - but sufficient. The food on the lunch and dinner menu was very good. The soto ayam (chicken soup) was delicious and comforting. The gado gado was good too. There seemed to be mainly European guests. The book shelves full of German books (available for guests to read) being a testament to this. It is not a big brand spanking new hotel and there was no Bircher muesli (or other endless breakfast choices) - but it was better - because it was a quite, small hotel with great staff, a nice atmosphere and value for money. Here you won't see young, unhappy staff more interested in their mobile phone than anything else - instead the staff seemed happy (they are certainly very polite, friendly and happy to help) and are a variety of ages. A nice relaxing place. I will happily stay again.

The hotel is nice and quiet away from the main street. Easy walk to the shops and beach and only a cheap taxi fare to Seminyak Square. As with everything you get what you pay for. Not a resort style hotel but still had everything we needed. Staff could not have been better.

good hotel reasonable location

we arrive very late after a long flight & received a lovely welcome drink & had our bags taken to our room. the room was very comfortable & the hotel overall was very pleasant. the pool looked as though it needed some work as the tiles were breaking & I caught my foot a few times. the garden & pool area was very nice & provided some well needed shade. the breakfast was adequate & u could select eggs to be freshly cooked for you. the tea on offer was very good & seemed to have bits floating in it & was very weak. the location was fine for us but u either had a choice of a walk through a dark bendy lane or via the beach was wasn't very well lit, I would recommend a torch & with our torch we managed ok. I would recommend this hotel for the price we paid.

I really enjoyed staying here - came alone for a weekend away and immediately felt welcomed. Staff were great, room was clean and really good sized. Shuttles were available and breakfast was just what I was after - something quick and convenient to set you up for the day (for me, selection of eggs, pastries and fruits was perfect but if you're after more of a spread for your breakfast, you might have wanted more here, but I was perfectly happy) ...

Around 3 minutes to the beach and walking along the beach there were plenty of bars, restaurants and beach clubs within a half hour walk, so quite handy, but quiet at night as not directly next to any bars etc.

Would definitely return to stay here - was great as a base, rather than somewhere to spend a lot of your time around the pool or anything, but would recommend!

Sweet spot near Seminyak Beach

This is a 26-room family-owned hotel that seems to cater primarily to Australian visitors. It's so charming, with an open-air lobby, library and restaurant that's open from 7am to 11pm daily, all arrayed around a delightful pool and gazebo. Many of the rooms have verandahs that front onto the pool area. This hotel is in very close proximity to the Marriott Courtyard and Oberoi for a fraction of the price, and 150 meters from the beach. It's also a quick walk to a shopping street. If you're staying 3 or more nights, the hotel will arrange complimentary airport pickup and drop-off. I can't wait to stay here again!

charming, good value hotel close to the beach

We were greeted with welcoming drinks and face towels at the reception when we arrived late in the evening. The boutique hotel is simple and charming with very friendly service helpers. It is a short walking distance to the beach in one direction, and to the strip for food, massages, entertainment and shopping in the other direction. What I like most is the free breakfast. The buffet consists of local breakfast like nasi goreng, chicken stew, fresh cut fruits, Balinese kueh, bread and pastries, made to order eggs, fruit juices, coffee and tea. The room is spacious with an adjoining shower stall bathroom. There is an open spaced covered lounge area with a small library of books and a couple of desktop computers with internet access in the upper floor.

Clean Hotel Close to Beach

We were there for only a short weekend getaway, staff were warm and friendly. Room and toilets were very clean. Hotel is a quick three minute walk to the beach, which was what we were in Bali for so that suited us, but it does mean it is a little farther from the main shopping/ eating belt. For the price, this was an excellent stay.

Traditional Hotel Close To Beach & Restaurants

we enjoyed our stay finding the hotel accommodation and grounds clean and comfortable. we enjoyed the pool and surrounding gardens - everything was well maintained and spotless, the gardens beautifully manicured and thriving. breakfast was basic - choice was limited, however ample for most. I would have liked to have seen a choice of teas - as there was only a pot of tea on offer - very weak, I had to ask for tea bags every day to make a good cup of tea - didn't try the coffee? the staff were mostly friendly and accommodating. I did have laundry done at the hotel - everything came back clean without any fuss - probably cheaper to go down the road to a laundry facility if money is an issue, however it wasn't too expensive to have it done through the hotel. I wouldn't order cocktails around the pool from pool staff, we ordered 2 Pina Colada's, they arrived at room temperature, served in a champagne glass and didn't taste as I had remembered ? my daughter (she is 23) got violently ill after drinking hers, as I have a cast iron stomach I was ok just a little OFF - she recovered after a day/night in bed. all in all I found the hotel to be good value clean comfortable and of good character.

Quiet small hotel in fantastic location

We were recommended this hotel by a friend who comes every year and now I know why!
It is tucked away in a quiet location but close to beach and some fantastic restaurants.
The staff are wonderful, the chef is amazing and the service is brilliant. Not tax is charged on their menu.
The food is fresh and well presented. We sat around the pool one night and had a meal in our bathers and PJ's.
The only negative comment is the condition of the pool as the tiles were cracked and dirty, however the pool water was clean. The other guests were also friendly.

Ok hotel close to beach

Hotel Sarinande is an old hotel which is being renovated in spots, but the old basis is easily visible (old stairs etc.). It is open to the narrow street being used by delivery cars and the ever-present loud motor bikes and couldn't be called quiet; I slept well with everything closed and a well working AC, probably been in Bali long enough already. The breakfast buffet was small but tasty. Staff strives to be helpful, some more, some less, as usual. I found the bed very comfortable, really liked the many good pillows. The few English language TV channels are nothing much. Had a massage + facial in the room on my last day which were both the worst and most expensive I had in Bali up to now. The ride to the airport cost me idr 150,000.

The hotel is small. It was easy to sleep in the day or at night as the hotel is so quite. As its a small hotel the pool is almost always empty. Perfect for myself & partner who like to spends hours relaxing in the pool. The staff are nice and friendly. Hotel food was really yummy & cheap. For a cheese burger and chips $5.70AUD. Indonesian dishes started from $3.60 - $6AUD. The beach is about a 200 metre walk from the hotel & and about another 200 metre walk along the beach to some really cool beach clubs. The main street of Seminyak is about a 600 metre walk or 70 cents AUD in a taxi. The hotel is perfect for the low price per night. If you are thinking of a fancy hotel, than this is not for you.

The first room we were given was awful (#15). The room was dark, only had a small window, was tiny, and had a strong mildew smell - and the bathroom had an even worse smell. The hotel was fully booked so they couldn't move us to a different room that night. The next two nights we were in a much better room (#16) on the 2nd floor. The room was a bit run down, but much better than the first one. Based on our experience here we really cannot recommend this hotel.

We had a great time staying at this hotel which is situated a very short stroll to the beach, 150metres. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends

A friend & I stayed at the Sarinande for 14 nights at the start of June. Upon first arrival I must admit we had our doubts as the entrance is very small & there are big white boards around where you would of thought the front office would be. This was quickly forgotten when walking down the walk way to the current front office whilst they are building their new one.

Check in was a breeze, and payment upfront on arrival rather than on booking is handy. We were greeted with cold towels & drinks on arrival. We were early, but were able to leave our bags with the front office whilst we wandered down to the beach to sink a few Bintangs.

We were able to check in at 2PM as expected & got shown to our rooms. We chose deluxe rooms, and my room was on the second floor whilst my friends was on the bottom. Rooms were tidy, with the air-con already running. All the furniture looked pretty well maintained and the beds were comfortable and firm. We also had a table and chairs inside and outside the room. The second floor rooms unfortunately suffer from a bit of road noise whilst the lower story rooms are far better noise wise.

The restaurant was good but not great, food was above average and prices great. The pool was clean and pleasant but not heated. Room service was attentive and reliable. The front desk was very accommodating at all hours.

Overall very happy with the experience and would definitely stay there again.

good location, close to beach

I felt at home from the time I arrived. I liked my room, the location, the pool, the breakfast, the gardens. The staff were very attentive and eager to meet the needs of the guests.
It is not a hotel for people who want to party on, and maybe a bit small for families, but for couples and solo travellers, I think it is ideal.

Lovely hotel a short walk from several restaurants and bars. Staff ate so friendly and the free airport pick up was very welcome. Breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh. Rooms were spotless and the WiFi was very fast. Would reccomend to anybody.

Nice hotel close to the best at a good price!

I stayed for 4 nights at the Sarinande Hotel. Its quite a small hotel located a bit outside from the main street (I find its good because I dont like loud street) and the beach is less than 5 minutes walking. Its like a hidden gem! The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good (they have an egg counter and you can order eggs to your like) and the restaurant by the pool offers good Indonesian and Western food at a good price. The bedroom is spacious and clean. It has shared balconies and I liked it. The bed is fantastic. So comfy. Overall I'm satisfied with this hotel. Highly recommended!

150 metres from beach

I was a little disappointed with the Sarinande Beach Inn. The air conditioner leaked in our room as well as the shower and we had the deluxe accommodation. During our stay we asked every day to have clean coffee cups left in our room and not once did the room attendants do as we requested and we had to walk to the kitchen each day to get our cups. The rooms are not very private as the verandah upstairs runs right across all the rooms, and the staff were noisy in the mornings cleaning out rooms. The pool had cracked tiles in it and we didnt even swim in it. The breakfast was very simple with the same thing every day and on one occasion the woman who was serving breakfast didnt even acknowledge us when we said good morning to her. Besides that, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cheap and Cheerful!

This is a little gem of a hotel. It’s in a great location, a few minutes walk from the shops/restaurants and beach. The hotel staff go above and beyond; it was my partners birthday while we were there and they surprised with a birthday cake and all sang happy birthday to him. This is not a resort hotel and you are not paying resort prices, so you can not compare it to the big 5* names however it is clean, tidy and makes you feel safe. Perfect for a long weekend.

Quiet location

The hotel is in a quiet location and easy walking distance to shopping in seminyak. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk. This part of the beach is quieter then other areas. Easy to get a lounge chair and umbrella without stress.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
We booked a driver through the hotel to take us on many tours.
The driving can be stressful and hectic a, as there are so many people and motor bikes.

Nice hotel very clean. Good breakfast in the morning. Only spent 1 night here. We had asked for help with a tour and the guy at the front desk said he would call our room but never did. Other than that though close to the beach and the Main Street in Seminyack. Would reccomend.

Great service, trashy location

This hotel has fantastic service. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They arranged multiple day trips for us on a moment's notice with friendly drivers. They answered all our questions and provided a nice breakfast service and prompt cleaning service. They even brought us a special Balinese treat after we mentioned to our driver that we wanted to try it (on the house!). However, Seminyak is full of drunk Australian tourists who dirty up the beach and take over the bars. The beach was a 2 minute walk down the road, but we were swimming in trash and couldn't enjoy ourselves since we were wrapped in plastic waste, both in the water and on the sand. If this hotel were located in a quieter corner of the island, it would be perfect.

Tiny little hotel pretty close to the beach

The hotel is located around 150m away from the beach north of Kuta. So if you need extended party nights you can go to Kuta, if you are looking for relaxing vacations you might stay or just go north along the calm beach. The hotel itself is pretty small with only 26 rooms but very traditional with friendly staff. The room that I was given for my stay was pretty big. It was cleaned everyday. The cleaning staff obviously was told to take care of the resident´s request concerning bed sheets change because this was only done if the resident requested to, which I consider perfect. I don´t need my sheets being changed everyday due to environmental reasons.
The choice of food for a la cart dishes was more than enough for even a 14-day stay. It was as well international as traditional menu available. I only stuck to traditional that was devided into Indonesian and Balinese food. I got nothing to complain, neither about the price nor the quality. Breakfast was kind of simple and the buffet was the same everyday, only changed by the Indonesian style breakfast. But for me it was perfect. They also offer fresh fruit that is usually not oligatory for that kind of standard.
Regarding the hotel standard I got nothing to criticize and can really recommend it to anyone.

Close to Beach, Great Breakfast

The staff at Sarinande work hard all day and night to make sure you are happy and comfortable, the grounds and pool are always immaculate, and a great breakfast is served every morning. Service is above and beyond, nothing seems too much to ask. Very good value, 2 minute quiet walk to the beach.

Comfy beds and pillows. The room was huge and clean, it was near to the beach. Breakfast was limited but not bad. Love the toilet. Didn't enjoy climbing the creaky scary steps up to our room though... No lifts in this hotel/inn. Water pressure goes down at peak timings. Would definitely return.

First time won't be the last :)

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights last week and we were really happy there was a group of four of us we felt safe and comfortable. Everything was near by only a short walk into seminyak and 100metres walk to the beach. Breakfast was lovely with a good variety from Indonesian to westerns even eggs cooked anyway you would like. We actually all agreed that the dinner here was the best we had had in Bali with there large portions and flavoursome meals. Make sure to try the wontons and fish cakes Yum! Staff were great always ready to help with a friendly smile even if it was ordering Maccas at 1am. Love this place and can't wait to return next year. Thank you Sarinande Hotel for making our experience in Bali great!

Sarinande is a beautiful, clean and peaceful resort in Bali. We loved everything about it.
The food provided was very delicious, the rooms very clean & spacious, loved the clean linen, the staff were extremely friendly and always smiling, very quiet which was very relaxing.
The next time I visit Bali I am definitley staying at Sarinande again.

Chambre dè classe immédiatement supérieure en RC.
Notable différence d'avec l'entrée de gamme. Si vous êtes un chouillat exigeant préférez les chambres en RC face piscine numéro 4 à 8, vous le regretterez pas. Nous avions la 5 et elle était impecable sauf les deux éclairages de miroirs de salle de bain et chambre qui étaient HS.

Pension un brin désuète au look d hacienda ou de corala espagnole ou sud américaine.
Établissement bien tenu, propre, petit déjeuner copieux,excellent accueil et amabilité du personnel. Grande piscine (attention 3 premières marches glissantes).
Excellent rapport qualité prix suttout en basse saison. L'escalier en bois d'acces a l'étage date et ses marches sont irrégulières. Certaines dales au plafond de l'immense terrasse du 1er etage manquent ou sont déplacées arranger ces quelques points et Un petit effort sur les plantations et Le jardin seraient de nature a redonner un peu de lustres et de cachet à cet établissement. Chambres très confortables. Préférez le réa de chaussée car à l'étage les fenêtres peuvent donner sur une rue très passante (retours de plages en scooters ou motos de 8 heures à 1 ou 2 heures du matin ). Établissement très recommandable.

Hôtel un peu vieillissant, peintures dans les chambres à revoir. Dommage de payer 400 000 roupies pour un chek out later après 20 jours passé à l'hôtel.

Plomberie à refaire : les toilettes ne fonctionnent pas (la chasse d'eau ne se remplissait pas), le système a été changé et malgré cela ne fonctionnait pas. Avons changé de chambre et problème idem. Installations vétustes ( robinets du lavabo et douche piqués). Odeur nauséabonde de l'eau du lavabo ( odeur de soufre!?). Néons (salle de bains et chambre) ne fonctionnant pas. Sinon le personnel fait son possible, est aimable et arrangeant.

The hotel is very dated. The swimming pool area is nice. The room is alright. The real problem is the bathroom. You can see all the chrome bits are rusty and old. I didn’t take a shower nor wash my face here because the water quality wasn’t right. The receptionist lady was very friendly and the location was a top notch. If you are looking for a budget option with a good location, this might work for you for a couple of nights. But if you care about cleanliness, look for somewhere else. If possible, avoid room 29.
