;Osborn is built on five hills (so they are hard to avoid) and this hotel was built on a hill. As a result, Reception was on the fifth floor (which they call 0) and there are four floors below it. Our room was on -3. Nothing wrong with any of that. But it means there are a lot of steps. For people with visual impairments, that was kind of hazardous. But in the breakfast room, the staff soon figured out that I might need help going up and down the steps (when my wife seemed to be ignoring me). But we both loved breakfast.

The hotel was good although large groups of international guests staying there who were quite noisy late at night. My room was near reception and you could hear a lot of shouting and talking from guests during the night. Otherwise the hotel was very good but the location is a 20 minute walk to the old town.

Noise from the street was an issue for sleeping. The windows don’t provide enough buffer for people’s voices on the street. Bad odour from the bathroom. Both of those issues were not a deal killer because I am a fan of the Locke brand but what was unforgivable was an unpleasant staff member who managed the breakfast bar. The other staff were fabulous but this guy accused me of sneaking into the bar and essentially stealing a coffee. He was aggressive and insistent, and at 72 l have been seldom as offended as l was by him. I was shocked.

From when we arrived and got an early check in until our departure, our hotel stay was the best! The front desk was always friendly and helpful. The Kissaten bartender went to another bar to get one of the liquors for our cocktails. We frequented Cafe Castro’s for morning coffee and pastries, and for late dinners San Ta Marta. The hotel is well situated to the Metro, grocery store, pharmacy and local restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel apartment with a full kitchen and ensuite laundry.

Excellent, friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. They made us feel at home. The rooms, though, are small, but homey. The grounds and buildings were formerly a convent. There may be nun ghosts (seriously). They like to slap stuff around sometines. We tried all of the hotel's food and bar options. The more formal restaurant was amazing, but be sure to make reservations. The less expensive S Santa Marta terrace resraursnt turned out to more ex0ensive than we thought, food was ok, but serves at times more convenient for those looking for an earlier dinner.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The room was spotless and perfectly equipped with a washer and dryer and a full kitchen, which made everything incredibly convenient. The location is excellent, and the staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming throughout our visit. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip.

The stay started good, but there were several issues. The TV was not in front of the bed, and in the studio/kitchen it was hard to watch also the main channels were not available. The window was very dirty from the outside. Housekeeping did not clean the room properly—only the bed was made, and dirt and papers were left on the floor. I booked this stay for my birthday but received nothing, not even a card, and the room was still dirty. Other than that, everything else was okay.

We were upgraded to a room with a kitchen. It was so nice that we didn't want to leave. It was a surprizingly well equipped kitchen, but we didn't get to use it as it was only an one night stay. The room also come with a comfortable sofa, which was combined with a dining table and a chair. Veryr well designed. We will definitely come back.

Expensive for what you get. Rooms are stylish but super small with hardly any space to even open a suitcase. There isn't even a bedside table. Some rooms have no window at all. The only daylight is through a door to the courtyard but needs to be kept closed for privacy. Location is good.

The whole Locke hotel complex is beautiful. We had an apartment in the old convent. We had everything we needed! The apartment was comfortable, in a great location and there are 2 wonderful restaurants on property. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great stay and if in Lisbon, we’ll do it again!

I would have given it five stars - generally stuff was great, and the facilities excellent - but there are two jerks who worked the Kissaten bar on Sunday December 28th, 2025 at around 11:00 p.m. Both of these guys need a lesson in customer service. They're unfriendly, arrogant, self absorbed, rude young guys. Things felt wrong the moment we walked in. Two guys behind the bar. One was mixing a drink - didn't even look up to say, \"Hi.\" The other was certainly not welcoming or friendly - they were more interested in joking around with each other than in attending to the customers. There were only five other people in the bar. The vibe was so uncomfortable that we stayed a few minutes then got up and left.

Flip side, front desk staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive - thanks to David, Cadlotta, Rodrigo and
Tiago.

Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel. It's really central, well kept and has front desk staff 24/7. Just don't bother to go to the Kissaten fiasco.

This place is incredible! It’s clean, beautiful, centrally located and safe (even though it can look a little sketchy between the Burger King and the hotel). The cleaning staff was great and had the bathroom trash refreshed daily, along with providing fresh towels. This was huge! The staff was unforgettable and helpful in every way. Special recognition for Tiago, Ivo, Carlota, Erica, Rodrigo and the AMAZING staff at Joana (the best meal in Portugal)! The only two things I wish they had were shower caps and wash cloths, but despite that, it was great! I am already looking to other properties in other countries because this place knows how to do it with excellence!

We did not have breakfast at the property so it is not applicable for us to rate. The property was quiet and the rooms were clean. However, it was a bit dusty so my allergy was through the roof. The bathroom toilet was very small but the towel warmer rack was a plus. It also was a bit chilly with no heating option. We did not contact the front for further options. This hotel was a great place to stay, the room was aesthetic. It was nice because it had an iron and ironing board too. Bed was really comfortable and the location is good, really easy to get to the centre with a 17 min walk or 3 min to station. The lobby always smelled nice which I enjoyed. The staff were polite as well. The only point I would say is that they do not clean the rooms everyday, it was alright for us because we kept it clean anyways. And the room was cleaned at the midpoint of our stay which was good. Also the check in time is slightly later than what I am used to at other hotels and same for the checkout time. It did work out in the end because the staff was accommodating and kept our luggage for us and we paid for late checkout anyways

The hotel was right in front of Alfama’s famous Castelo de Sao George, a gorgeous castle overlooking Lisbon city which was enchanting to say the least. The peacocks roaming the hotel property and castle grounds (which we could see from our hotel room window) also added a magical touch to our stay. To get to the hotel itself, however, was quite a pain as it involved walking up steep cobbled paths for over 10 minutes - definitely not ideal after a day of sightseeing. I very much appreciated, however, the complimentary bottle of Porto wine which was awaiting us in our room after we checked in. The hotel property’s exterior was also quite old-looking but the interior was well kept, with some old and very historical looking furniture / decorations which added to the charm of the hotel. Breakfast was self-serve style with a freshly cooked hot meal section (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, vegetables, baked beans) with a small but satisfying and tasty selection of foods. They also had a fresh fruits salad and yogurts along with nice coffee and normal milk / oat milk which was nice to have. Overall, I’d say it’s a charming little hotel that’s worth staying at, but only if you don’t mind the workout you have to do coming back to the hotel every time (or blowing money on a taxi / bus each time). Lastly, considering that the hotel is located right in front of the castle, it would’ve been nice if they’d offered the hotel’s guests free or nicely discounted entry to it.

I had a wonderful time in my studio apartment. It was the perfect size for one (or two - I was on my own). All the mod-cons I need, beautiful design and interiors, comfortable bed, powerful shower, able to access Netflix via Chromecast, convenient gym on-site and all the facilities you need, and more. Great value for money. If I return to Lisbon, I'd stay here again.

What a great hotel and experience. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and answered any question we had. The room was clean, comfortable and we had a great view from our balcony. The restaurants on the property were all fantastic, the breakfast was also extremely delicious and had so many different things to eat and drink.

The hotel is located in a prime area for exploring the city and surrounding areas. Me and my fiance will definitely be recommending this hotel to our friends and we will 100% be back the next time we visit Lisbon.
