It was a good location. Room had small problems. Blow dryer was broken. Had to borrow one each day n return it after use None of their blow dryers in the rooms worked. Bathroom could use some refresh. Breakfast was great. Big buffet.

This hotel is well located in an area of Lisbon with high end shopping and restaurants. I stayed one night before flying home and the hotel served its purpose. All the employees I interacted with were pleasant and professional. I received a voucher for a free drink upon arrival which was a nice surprise and the breakfast buffet was ok. My only comment for improvement is that the hotel needs an update, the facilities and furnishings are dated. However for the price I paid in such an upscale area, that is to be expected.

The Dom Carlos hotel is an excellent hotel to stay at while visiting Lisbon. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. The hotel offers a nice complimentary breakfast. The staff was helpful and courteous!

A very clean, modern hotel right in the heart of the shopping district. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast buffet was excellent and the price was very reasonable. Great value for my money. I recommend a room with a terrace for a great view and lovely area to relax with a port wine and chocolate. I will definitely stay here again.

Check in staff were amazing. very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast included in our package. They advised it started at 7:15 am. We told them we were heading to the airport at 7 am, any chance to get a bite first. She told it depends on the mood of the morning staff. Sometime they were not nice. That’s exactly what happened. Came down at 7. Front desk attendant said no, it’s not ready although 2 staff members were in restaurant laying out food. Yogurt, fruit and coffee were already out on counter. Asked if we can go get one and he said. NO. Very rude and not accommodating. That’s too bad. Ruined our whole experience at hotel and Lisboa

Good location!

The hotel is clean and located in a very good location, two minutes walk to Marquis de Pompal square and almost 15 minutes walk to Rossio square. The rooms are very clean but small. At least our room was small!

Overall good hotel as I wasn’t there much, easy to get to restaurants, small grocery and cafes, a laundromat just two blocks over. Breakfast had good variety of options too.

Room was clean and tidy - but room extremely small. While good closet space - the rest... desk useless and chair could not use back support would be better a low stool - just no room. Even toilet was 'child size' and had to open shower door or would bump into in. No iron or use of. Would suggest book LARGER ROOM next time

This is a wonderful hotel with a great location. Only 15 minutes from the airport, and easy to walk anywhere around town or a quick drive or cab ride. You are one block off of the main street, with access to the water (downhill) or the main park (uphill). There is plenty of shopping, high fashion, food, and things to see within walking distance. The staff was very friendly, spoke English, French, and of course, Portuguese.The room was a good size, with a nice control of temperature. The bed and pillows were very good, and there were plenty of outlets for powering up devices. Bathroom and shower had great water pressure and temperature. Maybe the strangest and best thing I love about Europe is how hot the shower and tap can get! The breakfast in the morning is included and has a bit of variety with eggs, meat, breads, and fruit. Also some great tasing juices and there was wine available. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I did. I'll be back!

I realize it isn’t specific to this hotel and that it seems many of them in Portugal do the same but it’s beyond annoying to not have an iron and iron board for guests. When you check in late, have meetings early the next day and need to refresh your shirts ( not an unusual occurrence in a business area) laundry services aren’t an option because of the lack of time, leaving aside the steep costs. Not having a solution in that case is frankly unacceptable. Besides that, the hotel is a bit run down.

There was not a single thing we liked about our stay. The staff were unhelpful when we had concerns, including safety - the light in the hall by our room, right outside the elevator was not functioning so the space was very dark. There was not a peephole in the door, so when staff knocked on our door at 10pm we didn't know who was out there and did not want to open the door to the very dark hall to find out. The electricity outlet blew out our converter so we were unable to recharge our phones and there was nowhere in the public spaces to do so. When we asked the staff for help, they said it was \"impossible\" to help us, both with the chargers and the light in the hall. Our room was very small, not at all as pictured on Expedia, there was nowhere to set our luggage other than on the twinbeds (pushed together.) They charged us an additional fee of $58 for a second person in the room on the first night when we checked in, then wanted an additional fee for the second night, rather than charging us once. The staff were polite but completely unhelpful. The room and bathroom were clean but very claustrophobic. This was the worst hotel I have stayed in, we did not feel at all safe while there and actually barricaded ourselves in at night. I will never stay there again, and do not recommend any woman travelling alone to stay there.

This was a nice hotel in a convenient location. Breakfast was excellent and the desk staff were superb.
My room was fine. Great bed and linen, good shower, but the window barely opened, the air conditioning barely worked, and it was too hot to sleep.
The room was quite dingy brcause there was no view from the window and light was obscured by close, tall buildings on 3 sides.
I would be happy to stay at the hotel again, but would prefer a lighter more airy room.

The hotel itself is quite small and lacks some of the amenities normally expected in hotels, and the rooms are quite small, but otherwise it's a perfectly adequate and comfortable base for a long weekend.

Location is good if you want to take the motorway often. But, despite being at Av. Liberdade there is not much around the hotel

I first visit to Lisbon and traveling with a group of 6, booked three rooms. When we checked in, Ernesto and his staff were helpful with the process of getting us situated. Most of all, I appreciated the recommendations for dinner and booking tickets for hop on hop off. The hotel was located in an area that was accessible to restaurants, shopping, and transportation. The breakfast provided in the morning was excellent with a nice buffet selection. I would highly recommend Dom Carlos Liberty and would come back again.

Perfect location, metro just cross street. The hotel neighborhood is Cartier and others brandy stores also many restaurents. U can window shopping walk 15 munts or 2 stop of metro arrive old town, many interesting action around just by foot. If u arrive with fly, metro station just out side of the airpot, take red line untill the end , then change blue line get off 2 stops, as lisbon metro 4 lines, it is easy and clear to take, it just cost 2 euro, keep the pass and next recharge less 0.50 euro. The hotel's stuff was very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast with many choices. My room is small but with big balcony (never go).Bed is very comfortable, clean, shower pressure is very good, everything is very close to perfect. During low season it is very quiet but I guess if someone talk in corridor and u will hear it. P,s to travelers, pls keep quiet in the public area as other traveler has different schedule, leave or arrive try to keep silence possible

We really enjoyed our stay. Last night of a 3 week driving trip. We had a Europcar rental to return to their location across the street. Picked this hotel for its location nearby. Very impressed with the hotel experience. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and professional. Easy walk to all Lisbon has to offer, yet away from the main tourist craziness. OK for a couple of nights but perhaps not longer.

Excellent location and desk staff was helpful. There was no little coffee maker or tea pot to make coffee in the room and none available in the lobby except at breakfast. We missed that. There were no vending machines for water or other drinks either. And there were none of the little amenities in the bathroom that sometimes make a big difference. And we love getting a small map of the city with special attractions noted but those were not available at the front desk.

We really enjoyed this quaint hotel. It was located just a half block off the main pedestrian road of liberdade in Lisbon. We just stayed one night but long enough to enjoy the delicious breakfast and ambiance of the hotel. For the price, we liked it better than the higher priced hotel across the street.

Great hotel. In good location. Metro a few steps away. Surrounded by various shops and food options. Easy to get to and from the airport on the metro.
Staff were tremendously helpful and courteous. Made the stay very pleasant.
The breakfast was pretty good, has variety of options.
The rooms and general areas were also very clean.
The only down side which not so bad. Was the room was quite small. Very tight. Apart from that was very good.
Comfortable stay. Would stay there again. And certainly recommend it.

I liked the terrific breakfast everyday, the hot water pressure, the cleanliness of the room, the proximity to the metro and grocery store. But far and away, the best thing about the hotel is the wonderful staff. I spent 6 nights there, am 68 years old, and was treated with kindness and concern the entire time. I was truly impressed with everyone.
